Junko, horrified, began to back away with her hands held out in front of her. She could tell by the way her mother's hair was writhing and crawling her way that she had just said the wrong thing to The Empress. ""

Her mother meanwhile looked entirely distraught. Her smile was gone, and brown eyes were now widened with terror while both hands were clamped tightly over her mouth. She knew Junko meant The Empress and not her, at least she hoped so, but it still hurt to hear. But then at the same time she had grown strong enough to fight back against The Empress, something she had given up on so early in her little ghoul's life. This was all her fault. "
"worst daughter! This is your fault! And now I have to fix your mess again! Just. Like. Always!>"

Junko reached back with one hand to try and find her door, eyes never leaving the angry hair coming her way.

Maybe he was being over protective, or possesive, or any number of '-ives' that painted him into a bad fiancé, but he hadn't liked the look of those texts. Junko never talked like that, clipped and abrupt, not unless something was wrong, and Seiji still had something of a hairpin trigger where wrong was concerned.

So he'd finished up what he's been working on, and he pocketed his phone a s headed out of the dorms at a brisk walk, all the way into town. The walk to Junko's apartment was so familiar now, he hardly had to think about it. Not until he had stepped out of the elevator, key already in his hand. The raised voice was recognizable, of course it was, and the boil has a scowl on his face as he opened the door to let himself in.

The scene had been expected, knowing what he know about junko and her relationship with her parents, but that didn't mean it was any easier to look at. Junko, backing away from a frail looking woman that looked like her, and a curious voice echoing off the thin walls.

When his fiancée had came back, groping for the door, she'd instead feel fingers around her wrist, pulling her back against his chest and wrapping strong arms around her. "No one.>". The last was a growl, voice rising.

Cool fingers wrapping around her wrist both startled her and made her heart skip a beat with joy. Seiji. Junko turned her head to finally look away from her mother and up at Seiji, leaning back to practically huddle in his arms. Seiji, her Seiji. He came even though he didn't need to. Her Seiji. There came a satisfied snort from The Mistress when Seiji spoke up against The Empress.

"Oh!" The woman pulled the hair away from her face with thin fingers, a small smile on her lips and a tone of relief in her airy voice. "
"" crooned The Empress, her tone biting. A long, long tendril of hair even reached out to make a 'shoo, shoo!' motion in Seiji's face.

Seiji laughed, ugly and unpleasant, as he hugged his ghoul to him. One hand around her torso, the other a cool press against her neck, and both sets of fingers were black, darkness tracing up his arms in oriental swirls. A flick of glowing eyes, focusing on the woman's tired face as she spoke, but for the moment she was disregarded.

Sharp teeth flashed as that tendril of hair drifted towards him, a cold, almost bored grin spreading on his face as the hand on Junko's neck lifted. "" His possessions were scattered around the small apartment. Books, homework, clothing, odds and ends. He practically lived there, and no one shy of Junko was going to kick him out.

The hair came closer, shooing him, and in one smooth flick of his hand he sliced a lengthy chunk from the end. ""

He hugged her tighter and Junko turned halfway to face him, hands seeking out his shirt to instead cling to that. Her head turned to look over her shoulder and up at the hair with a frown.

And then he cut it. Right before her eyes. The hair fell on her face and she felt like she was going to be sick, letting out a startled sound as she wiped it all away like she had just been splashed with blood against her consent. "S-Seiji why..?!" He knew not to do that! He knew why! Why was he cutting her hair?! A hand clamped over Junko's mouth.

The Empress shrieked, Junko's mother's knees buckled. Her hair had never been cut in her entire life, even just a few inches. But now a good foot of that tendril of hair was sliced clean off. Granted she had so much hair Junko's floor looked black and it wouldn't even be noticed, but seeing her hair cut even a little bit was...still..

She fell to her knees.

"" More hair came his way and wrapped around his throat, giving a tug and tightening around him. Junko gasped and reached up to try and pull her away.

"" He would only cut more of it! She knew he would!

There was a pang of guilt, for Junko's gasp, for her mother falling to her knees, but it was second to anger. Not just for for this moment, but for every awful instance of neglect his fiance had had to suffer as a child. There were reasons Junko had dropped her last name. Reasons she'd written her parents off. The Empress was the cause, but Nakano-san had allowed it to happen. Not strong enough for herself, and not for her daughter.

The shriek drew no response from the boil save a satisfied pull of lips that only seemed to grow as snakes of hair rushed at him, circling his throat, squeezing. It was comical, really. The boil was a ghost. The hand around Junko tightened as she struggled to pull the hair away, and only that kept him from shredding it all right then and there. Because it would distress her, and he didn't want that.

"" The grip on his throat was tight, made talking hard, but he managed, even if it came out gruff. "" He'd almost cut Junko's hair, once upon a time, and only love had kept him from it.

He didn't owe Nakano-san anything, but indifferent neutrality, and he owed the Empress nothing but second hand spite.

Claws flexed, rising up to circle around the hair.

She felt the tightening of his hand but Junko tugged and pulled, pushing against Seiji as a way of leverage to finally wrench the hair away from around his neck, only to have it wrap around her own wrists and tug at her, to pull her away from Seiji. Her mother sat on the floor with her fingers tangled up in her hair, her palms covering her ears and her eyes closed tightly. "" Junko winced.

"yours?! Hardly appropriate! Rude boil doesn't know his place. Come here, Junko. What did mother teach you? Be a good ghoul and obey me!>" The Empress tugged and tugged, trying to free Junko from Seiji's grasp. The Mistress simply chuckled.

"Cut it again and She may back off a bit, boil," She said lowly, Her voice thick with amusement. "Not that Junko doesn't kind of deserve this, she didn't exactly leave her family any kind of notice that she was dropping them like a rock in the swamp." Some of Junko's hair twitched as if The Mistress was shrugging. "She has enough hair that she'll forget you did it by next week."

"" Junko hissed back at Her. She pulled at her arms, trying to get at least one wrist free from the thick section of black hair around them. "" She called out to the woman covering her ears. Her mother curled up under the thick curtain of hair. This was why she hadn't gone back even for a visit. It was heartbreaking to see her mother in this condition.

And it was a reminder of what could have been.

Priorities shifted the instant the hair had moved from his neck to Junko's wrists to try to jerk her out of his grasp. He growled, wrapping the ghoul up tighter, pressed against his chest once again, as she pleaded to be released. Only to have the grating rant of the Empress rise up to drown her out. Minutes, and already his patience was spent.

Not just his, apparently. The Mistress spoke up, urging him on, and that in itself was shocking enough to smooth angry features, if for only a second, before a truly awful smile had grey lips stretching.

It hurt to hear that tone in Junko's voice, made his chest ache. Hauling her up off her feet, he pressed his mouth against her ear, murmuring an apology, as he stepped forward and brought razor sharp claws down in an arching sweep to slice through the thick vines of dark hair that were trying to take his fiance away from him.

She was his. His ghoulfriend, his fiance, his future wife and the mother of their future children. There was no way he was letting her go.

There was a panicked sound from the ghoul when she first felt her feet leave the floor, at first thinking that she had been wrenched from Seiji's arms only to feel his cold lips and breath against her ear. What? Why was he sorr--

Oh.

Both hands, now free, clamped hard over her mouth as her stomach churned and her heart stopped at the sight. The Mistress cackled with amusement while The Empress drew back all of Her hair away from Junko and her vile, hair-cutting little boil with a howl of anger. "horrid little boil! No wonder she's marrying you, you're just as awful and terrible as her!>"

"" Came the quiet plea of Junko's mother. It was hesitant, she didn't like speaking up against The Empress. "please, Empress..>" Junko whimpered. Her mother had legs, she was the one in control of her body, not the Empress. Mother never listened to her when she tried to tell her that..

Junko sagged back against Seiji, still covering her mouth like she was going to be sick. There was so much hair on the floor...

The Empress huffed. "rotten and ungrateful as you! Sachiko, we're leaving.>" She snarled when the tired older woman took too long to get up. "<Now, Sachiko! Pitiful woman. Walk!>" Junko's mother nodded, her face obscured by the curtain of hair that dragged around her as she made her slow approach toward the young couple between her and the doorway.

The instant the hair retracted away from them the class were gone, and Seiji wrapped cool fingers around Junko's arm, holding her gently as she sagged against him. "" there was nothing satisfying in the sight of the broken woman on the floor, only a cold resentment as she begged the Empress to allow them to leave. Weak. So incredibly weak.

He slid his hands along her arms, an attempt to be soothing, and glared down at the women at their feet. It was hard to watch how very powerless she was. Not the one in control, not like Junko.

Dark eyes narrowed at the curse, and he smiled Asian, finally just lifting Junko altogether so her feet wouldn't be anywhere near the black sections of hair scattered on the floor. "strong.>"

Nakano-San shuffled towards them and Seiji lingered in the doorway, petty, before letting her slip past.

Seiji picked her up and Junko turned her body to curl up against him and hide her face. Her hair draped over her body and covered her, a black shield from her mother and Seiji's eyes. Sachiko hesitated when Seiji lingered in her way, her head bowed but brown eyes peering at Junko through her hair. She frowned. "" she offered quietly. Junko curled up tighter, one fist clenching and pulling at Seiji's shirt.

""

Sachiko nodded. "" she continued past Seiji and Junko then, pausing to glance back at the young couple and then around the apartment itself before she walked out the door and disappeared down the hall.

Junko's body trembled as she clung to Seiji, refusing to come out from her safe place in her hair.

Seiji lay a soft hand against the back of Junko's head as she hid her face against him, and cool lips brushed across her temple. Trying to sooth what were no doubt frazzled nerves. It wouldn't be enough, he knew, but so long as Sachiko lingered it was all he could do.

He watched her, eyes cold, until she was well and truly gone, then he was closing the door behind her and striding from the room and the mess now littering the floor. Seiji would clean it up, Junko wouldn't even have to look at it. He took her all the way to her work room before sitting on a shair, her on his lap, and hugged her too him.

She was shaking, and it hurt his heart to see hr like this. He rocked gently, fingertips combing softly though the hair at the nap of her neck, quietly humming one of her favorite songs while he waited for that fine tremble to fade away.

Junko might as well have been a huge clump of hair on Seiji's lap as he sat down with her in Jack knew what room. She had no idea. She didn't want to look out. At the very least she wasn't crying, just literally shaken by the experience. She hadn't wanted Seiji to meet either of her parents, and of all of them she had to meet the one that hurt her most. Why couldn't it have been her father? At least he just wanted money and would have been more annoying than upsetting.

Eventually she sniffed and a hand came out from the depths of black hair, coming up to rest against the side of his throat and stroking her thumb along the length of his law line. "I'm sorry," she said in a small voice, "you were never supposed to meet her. I'm so sorry you did." The hand that still had his shirt tightened and pulled.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 12, 2014 8:55 am

Why was she apologizing? Junko hadn't done anything wrong, the poor ghoul was the victim in all this. "You have nothing to apologize for." Another brush of lips against her temple, relieved, as a warm hand crept up the side of his neck, that she wasn't angry with him. Gently, he'd move her from his lap, settling into the chair as he got up. "Stay here, I'll be right back."

He headed for the kitchen first, and the kettle that seldom left the stovetop. It was filled and set to heat, then the ghost was grabbing the broom and dust pan. There was a lot of hair from the two small cuts he'd made, but it was all long, easy to clean. It only took a few minutes to make it look as if nothing had ever happened, and the kettle was the verge of a whistle as he returned to it

There was a steaming cup of her favorite tea held carefully between his hands as the ghost returned to his fiancé abs sank down to kneel at her feet. "Here gorgeous, drink this. It'll settle your nerves.

When Seiji sat her down in the chair she made no move to protest or struggle, but a long tendril of hair did brush affectionately against his arm before finding s scrap of cloth on the table beside her. By the time he returned she had come out of hiding and was quietly embroidering the cloth, something that seemed to be done to it a lot as it had several other patterns in it as well. It was her practice scrap.

Junko looked up from what she was doing when he got down in front of her. She smiled, setting it aside. "Seiji~" she crooned, sliding off the chair to curl up on his lap again before she took the tea from him. "Thank you." She sipped it quietly, resting her head against his shoulder and closing her eyes. "You're too good to me."
