~::The Tower of Babel - Empty Yasogami Music Room [Floor 330]::~

Throughout the Tower of Babel rest floors which reflect the darkness inside of humanity...when humans venture within, their shadows come out to play, changing the very face of certain levels within into the dungeon of their nightmares, putting on display that which they don't want others to see. But for those whose shadows have already taken control, whose darkness rules and acts according to its own design, there are unique floors entirely under their command, bending to their will as they seek to ascend to the top of the Tower.

Floor 330 is known as the Empty Music Room or Creepy Band Room and was once the 'Shadow World' of lost Yasogami Student Ayane Matsunaga. A music room with instruments lining the walls, several paintings of famous composers hanging all around with eyes that follow those within anywhere they go...
...

Here is the Empty Music Room, the abandoned Shadow World of a poor, young girl long gone from this world as she once was...a victim of the Black Messengers...and the wrath of the Paragon of Shadows!

Noir, the Messiah

"I reeeallly hope Soji's not mad at me." The Messiah stood in the middle of the floor of Babel, his Persona surrounding him as he searched the floors high and low for a trace of his leader. There were numerous signals in the area that seemed like enemies, and since it was his job to be on the lookout for intruders he got the feeling Soji was going to give him a lecture again...and Sano might want to give him a beating...and he really didn't want any of that!
"Sojiiii...Booooosss...! Helloooo...?" For some reason he couldn't seem to get his words across to the others clearly, and he could feel his nerve shrinking by the minute. This was just like the tournament they'd run into before, when he'd ended up kidnapped along Ms. Kujikawa. She seemed like a really nice girl, and he didn't want to be on the opposite side of her, but...he wouldn't give up! But in that situation, when he'd started to become really frightened, she'd been the one to encourage him. Maybe he could try talking to her again, and see if she would help him form an understanding between their two groups...

Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"

Down the rabbit hole again, and out the other side to see...this place, again? Once he had regained his bearings after the landing inside of the TV World, or technically the Tower of Babel, the silver-haired leader of the Investigation Team's ashen eyes scanned the room in search of some sign of where he had landed and if anyone else on his team had arrived alongside him. He hoped in a way that he could find a companion, but at the same time, if this were to be another event like the P1-Grand Prix, then it might be best for a while to encounter enemies instead. Knowing where he had landed, of course, was the most important thing for starters...and fortunately, the Empty Music Room was a stage he remembered well from the previous event. In his ears the voice of the annoying General Bear rang, but he tuned out as much of it as he could, registering only the important information about one-on-one battles and the threat of friends being hurt if they refused to participate. They didn't need to worry about that...he'd play along with their game if he had to in order to save his friends. Would the SEES Team be involved this time? Would the Messengers invade again? There were many questions still lingering, but the night was young and there was plenty of ground to cover before then.

'Sojiiii...Booooosss...! Helloooo?'

...And judging by the shouting nearby, he wasn't alone right now. Turning to gaze to the far side of the room, he saw stumbling towards the piano a violet-haired young man he recognized somewhat. And despite his obvious disability, there was something about him that instantly set Soji's hairs standing on end. It was a rumor and a memory...a shadow of a thought that wherever this man went, danger surely followed...intentional or no. Still, there was nothing else he could do for now...perhaps the General would be merciful enough not to lock the two of them into a ring together?

"Noir, is that you?" he called out, remembering his previous encounters with the young man both on the streets and elsewhere, hoping that they could resolve this meeting peacefully and move on to fight the others, "Why are you calling me your Boss? And have you seen anyone else...?"

...

His hopes were dashed just then as the four crimson pillars of the Tournament's style crashed into the floor around them...and if he knew anything about this type of event, there was on way out from the center of them until the two of them threw down one way or another. A sigh escaped him...and while perhaps he should have, he couldn't bring himself to draw a sword just yet.

'Great...am I really supposed to fight the blind, homeless kid?' the I. Team's fearless leader shook his head in disbelief, wishing the world would be just a little bit more reasonable for once, '...I'm not sure if I'm more scared for him, for my karma if I hit him, or for myself if he starts trying to help me...'

...A legitimate concern, to be sure.

Noir, the Messiah

"Boss, there you are!" Noir snapped around at the voice and threw up a hand to wave as he came running...and then tripped over a chair, slamming his face directly into the grand piano in the middle. And that kids, is why you should pay attention to your surroundings! Noir rolled on the floor for a minute, rubbing his face and moaning because who knows HOW much that hurt. "Agh...Soji...they got me...they got me good." The sight of a soul leaving Noir's body was briefly visible, or perhaps that was just some sort of...tower-y...illusion. It had to be, right? And after another moment of recovering from that rather...simple, yet painful experience, he finally sat back up, then returned to standing after feeling out his cane nearby. "I'm so happy to see someone else. Earlier I sensed that group of kids enter, just like you said they would. But then Sano went running off before I could warn him...and Rena got lost halfway down...and then a big change happened inside this tower, and something started interfering with my ability. This is seriously dangerous, I can tell the Shadows are restless, like someone without ability wandered in here. And no matter how hard I try, I can't sense the others anywhere! What if someone runs into some nasty shadows while they're in here? Or one of those violent Persona Users? We have to do something." His passion hung on that last line as he appealed to Soji(?), concerned for the well being of everyone inside the tower. Which was kind of odd for a Shadow Messiah, but then again Noir had never been an especially effective partner or member of the team. Then again...he had just called Yosuke and friends, "those violent Persona Users". So he did know something.

"Are you okay, Boss? You feel...different, somehow. Kind of like that evil twin you keep mentioning." Evil twins. That was how he was rationalizing this thing. For reelz!?

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"

In a single move, he could practically see Noir's HP bar dropping...face-first crashes into grand pianos had a way of knocking the tiny anime soul out of you, after all...and for a moment the Senior wondered if he'd even have to lift a finger to win whatever contest they were expecting the two of them to have. Instinctively moving to the homeless wanderer's side, he tried to help him to his feet in spite of the situation, listening to the way that he rambled with some small measure of surprise. Evil twins, kids coming into the Tower, did the erstwhile scanner really have no clue which side of the line he was supposed to be on? He had always known there was something different about the kid, but that he was a Messiah who thought he was fighting on the side of justice was...well...about the most Noir-like thing he could imagine, wasn't it? And since the term 'Noir-like' had the hairs on the back of his neck raising in anticipation of some kind of trap door or Rube Goldberg Device dropping a sandbag on his head out of nowhere, he couldn't help the small sense of panic rising inside of him. Still, he couldn't just let the poor kid knock himself unconscious with his next step or something. Glancing about the room, he turned his attention back to his 'opponent' a moment later and considered their options.

"No, I'm the good me," he explained simply, not really sure how to tell him the difference between the two of them without getting into some Jungian exposition that would have filled quite a few pages if he'd let it, "You and I were put into a ring to fight one another, but I have no intention of hurting you...what we need is to get out of here and reunite with everyone." Just vague enough and just sensible enough that perhaps Noir would agree and be willing to come without any further questions. Later, if they got out of here, he could explain just how wrong Noir had been about the good and bad sides all this time...but for now if he could convince him to cooperate without coming to blows, well, he was sure he could find a way out of this strange ring somehow. Maybe they could make use of Noir's unique skills to do it? "Do you think you could scan this ring and tell me anything about it? Any weak spots, any details at all? If you can figure something out, maybe I can get us out of here without fighting..."

'I hope...for both our sakes.'

As the battle concludes and the four pillars collapse, the two fighters feel an unusual fatigue coming over them...and before their eyes crystals, like tiny, twinkling shards of dust and light gather in the air before them...swirling about...before ascending towards the top of the Tower and out of sight.

Something about this disturbs you...but as the Tournament directs you forward, you have little time to consider what it means before moving on...
