- The ghost of her past, though thought to be a monster Nanashi actually has deep regrets about all those she's killed. This has forced her to put a wall around herself, whenever she relaxes the memories flood in causing her to freeze up.
- Akihiko Kayaba: the 2nd gen captain of the 4th division may have trained her in the shinigami arts but he did so by daily and literally ripping her apart and putting her together again as good as new. She both adores him (which she will never admit) and fears/hates him
Personality: Nanashi lives for battle and enjoys a good fight more than anything. She even holds back in an effort to make any fight last longer. She also claims that injury and death are nothing but the price of a good fight. Despite her tendency to be brutal, Nsnashi usually stops a fight if her opponent is too injured to fight back, since she isn't interested in fighting "weaklings who can't fight anymore; nor is she obligated to deal a death blow to anyone who isn't capable of fighting any longer". However, she will unhesitatingly kill her opponent if they refuse to end their fight. When not fighting Nanashi is ether practicing or napping. (Guarded Personality)
Nanashi is shy, thoughtful, serene, kind, and very polite, as noted from her always addressing people with proper honourifics. She is also very gentle, but due to her upbringing she saw her gentle nature as a lie. The fact she was thought to be a monster and unworthy of being human initially caused Nanashi to become very timid and lack self-confidence. However over time she began believing she was the monster people called her and thus created a persona to match. (Unguarded Personality)
History:
She was born to a rich Japanese family in the late 1400's. Three months before her birth her father had consulted a fortune teller, who foretold that his new daughter would bring him ruin. As soon as he learned this her father began to plot his future daughters death. Her mother learned of this plot and fled. The baby was born safely but the mother died in labor. The old man that had help her mother took the baby in as his own.
The man was kind to her until she was 4 that is when he fist handed her a wooden sword and indicated she was to learn to use it. You see the old man was a mute, so he indicated everything to her. The girl picked up language from monks and travelers that stayed from time to time. As she began to show promise with a sword the man started two things. The first was at the end of each week they would fight, which was the only formal like lesson she got from him. The second was he taught he to read and write. It took her three years but at the age of seven she finally beat the old man. A week later the man died as if his mission was complete.
The girl took the old man's katana before burning his body. She traveled around slowly learning more about swordsmanship and how to talk. As she traveled a legend began to spread that a demon in the form of a young girl was cursing the land. Samurai from all over came and fell to her blade.
It was not long before the girl noticed that one land was sending a mass amount of men after her. Traveling to that land she found that the Daimyo of the land feared she was his lost daughter come back from the dead to bring ruin to him. This daimyo was her father, deciding killing him would be a great show of her power the girl soon attacked his castle. Killing countless samurai, she slowly made it to his chamber where he stood waiting. As he looked at his opponent he fell to his knees she was like a demon that looked like his beloved dead wife. The man told her he was her lost father, this only enraged her due to the fact that meant he'd done nothing to save her mother.
Soon after killing her father the Daimyo, the shogun himself lead his army to find and kill the demon girl that plagued his lands. He found her sitting amongst the ruined castle of her father awaiting death. The fact she simple stood up and attacked the shogun as if he were any other samurai, abhorred the shogun's men but pleased him. As the girl fought the most powerful man in japan she quickly realized, she could kill him easily. Thinking there would be more of a challenge in the next life the girl left herself open and the shogun removed her head from her body.
The woman awoke in a strange place, it looked similar to Japan yet there were no soldiers or lords. The place was peaceful and serene, yet what struck her as truly strange was that no one seemed able to walk by her. This occurrence caused her to leave the populated area's going off to the wilderness where she hoped to find peace. However she'd soon learn the wilderness was unpopulated for a reason.
While searching for a place to stay, the woman happened upon a group of people in black robes with swords attacking a monster. Yet even with all ten working together the monster was winning. The group fell one by one until only three remained, it was then her curiosity got the better of her. Taking up one of the fallen blades, the woman attacked, with a sword once more in hand she felt alive. The strange warriors were in aw as they watched battle the beast, a hollow as she later learned; her blade moving like a flash, her movements unreadable, and her devilish smile frightening
With the creature dead, the woman turned towards the three warriors in black, her bloodlust had been awakened by the hollow. However it was not three scared little warriors behind her, it was a older man in similar robes and a white coat. Seeing this new enemy the woman attacked she knew not who he was nor did she care. Their battle was over before it began the former 4th division captain used a high level bakudō to capture the bloodthirsty woman before knocking her unconscious with a strange powder.
(I will now put up a synopsis of the next 550 years which I'll edit later)
The former captain took the girl in to the lands that would later be the 80th district of the Rukongai. There he named her, and trained her in the arts of being a shinigami due to her overwhelming potential, and spiritual pressure. He spent over 200 years beating kidō into her thick skull which she was surprisingly masterful at using. His was met with her telling him in a colorful way she'd never use kidō. Then about 300 years ago he got her to finally gain shikai, but upon learning its poisonous nature he grew worried. Unlike other elemental zanpakutō poison could still effect the user. With this in mind he began to poison her and then heal her with antidotes or kaido(which he had invented). Though a slow and painful method it rose her resistance to poison to an almost immunity. After roughly 550 years the two parted ways after a sparring match in which she bested him while in shikai, he stated that his defeat marked the end of what he could teach her.
Since then Nanashi Yamamoto has slowly gone through the districts looking for strong opponents always heading to the seireitei.

The practitioner swiftly swings his weapon around his or her entire body without cutting themself. The speed of this technique makes it difficult for an adversary to get close to him in order to attack at close range without risk of serious injury. It is far from impenetrable, and a skilled enough opponent can circumnavigate the attack as it is full of openings. It can, however, instantly deal 9 damage to NPC

Nanashi possesses no known skill in Shunpo, she is deceptively fast for her size and build. Thanks to her tremendous raw power, Nanashi's leg strength allows her to more than make up for her lack of Shunpo, allowing her to move fast enough to instantly close a huge gap of space between her and her opponent, and even seemingly disappear from sight. In battle, she can strike with incredible speed in rapid succession, making it highly difficult for her opponents to find an opening and counterattack.
Immense Reiatsu: Nanashi has a truly monstrous amount of spiritual power even for a captain. It is so strong in fact she can use it as a sort of armor, making it nearly impossible for her to be harmed by anyone not at her level of power.
Hand-to-Hand Combat Expert: While preferring to use her blade in battle, Nanashi is skilled without it. She can easily catch an opponent's attack with a single hand, perform powerful punches and kicks, and easily subdue opponents with throws and take-downs.
Immense Endurance: Her physical strength and speed is matched by his resilience. Nanashi often ignores most of the injuries she sustains in battle (much like a berserker), not suffering any debilitation despite having multiple slash wounds in her body.
Preemptive Sensing: While most spiritual arts are wasted on her Nanashi has trained her ability to read spiritual pressure and energy to the point she can sense it in her opponents. Allowing her to know the direction speed and strength of spiritual beings. This makes it difficult to surprise her unless able to extinguish your energy signature.
Immune to most if not all poisons know to the seireitei, this was achieved while training under the 2nd gen 4th division captain. He built up her immunity by poisoning her constantly then giving her the antidote only if she were about to die.
Poisonous Blood: due to the hundreds of poisons used on her her blood has become almost toxic itself due to the anti-venoms produced by her body.

Explosive Corrosion Wave - Jinsei Kaitou is able to fire off explosive green-colored waves of energy that capable of annihilating dozens of hollow with a single cut. Not only does it disintegrate the main body, but the disintegration effects would also spread over to parts detached as well. Strong spiritual beings can get away with just burned flesh as long as the affected area is still attached to their body.
Dokkasō (毒華爪, Toxic Luster Claw): Nanashi can release an acidic poison from her clawed glove that can liquify flesh and bone upon contact. Though she normally applies it through her claw strikes, she can also spray the acid from her clawed tips or transfer it into her punches. The range of the sprayed acid is 5 meters and while it can coat the claw for up to 5 post afterwards she must wait 2 post to use it again.

Kanpekinashi (Perfect Death): Coating her blade in the acidic energy, Nanashi's blade gains an additional cutting strength. This is because the acid melts it before the blade cuts it. The power of this attack allows Nanashi to cut through nearly any substance with the exception of defensive bankai that are equal to her power level. Quincy Blut and Arrancar Ressurrecion provide some resistance depending on defensive capabilities, weak or no defense will result in the hot knife through butter effect.

Bankai Appearance:
Upon activating her bankai Nanashi's skin, eyes and hair turn black while two magnificent black angelic wings form on her back as a miasma begins to spread from her body. This Miasma eats anything and everything away, displaying both acidic and toxic qualities, meaning that it can eat through metals and stone just as easily as it can through flesh and blood. It will eat at substances like a starved man and will leave nothing behind in it's wake except for poisoned, desecrated land and a poisonous aura that takes years to go away if at all. It not only destroys things physically, it eats at the soul and spiritual energy of an object until nothing is left behind.
The miasma, wings and Nanashi's darkening features are caused by her zanpakutō releasing small microorganisms that fuse with her cells to make Nanashi into a living weapon. There are only two ways to gain immunity from the miasma, and a few ways to combat it
Immunity:
Touching Nanashi's body when bankai is released gives temporary immunity for that release only
Exchanging bodily fluids(such as a kiss or blood oath) during or directly before the bankai release this gives permanent immunity

Wind based attacks can blow the miasma away for X amount of turns
Healing Arts:
Kaido and other race equivalents are able to purify the miasma. The stronger the ability the more it works.

Bankai Techniques/Abilities
Kurosuna (Black Sand): Placing her hand on the ground Nanashi turns the ground black by adding the miasma making microorganisms. However without a source of reiatsu they are unable to make miasma, however they are able to attach to particles of dirt creating a poisonous black sand. Nanashi can then use this sand for offensive or defensive purposes. While the sand has no time limit it takes a while to create (5 feet per post her hand is on the ground)
