Personality: When performing on stage Kenshin is seen as a proud leader that can be very modest. He has a serene grace about him but is always ready for a crazy adventure he might've made up on the spot.
That's just when he's in his Kurai Arashi persona, though. In reality, Kenshin is cold-hearted and short-tempered. He won't give anyone the time of day and takes pleasure in seeing someone fumble over their words. Should he be upset or sad, he will not mope but throw a childish tantrum, most of the time resulting with him resorting to violence. Because of his poor stamina, though, he will easily get tired, which adds to his frustration.
Bio: Kenshin wasn't always angry and spiteful. There was a time when he was as sweet and kind as his stage persona, his childhood. He had a simple childhood, friends galore and a supportive family. They enrolled him into a flower arranging school during the summer for business etiquette. As he worked hard, he happened to notice a beautiful display of flowers. Different kinds of flowers, some he never even knew existed, fit together perfectly and blended the colors of their petals magnificently. It was remarkable. It must have been created by a master! Imagine Kenshin's surprise when he learned that it was a boy near his age that created it!
That boy was... less than pleasing to the eye. He was slammed hard by puberty and attacked by reality. His body was obese and his face a plethora of marks that nearly deformed him. In a world where beauty ruled, that boy was a monster, and yet Kenshin could not deviate away from him like the entire world seemed to. No, he refused to believe what everyone else did when that boy's hands made something so beautiful.
They became friends. Despite the world looking down on him for doing so, and even the many times his family and friends begged him to leave him, Kenshin stayed with his new friend. He admired his work and loved listening to his stories, and over time he barely noticed the characteristics that people didn't like. In fact, after a year or so, Kenshin found himself in love. It was strange to love another boy, but he didn't care. That boy was a wonderful person and was amazingly talented, he didn't care what everyone else thought.
Time passed and the two said their goodbyes. It was bittersweet, and tears were involved, but the two promised to always stay in touch.
A year passed afterwards and Kenshin soon came across a poster that advertised a new, hot band in Korea, though it wasn't the band that caught his interest. Of the five men in the poster, there was one he just couldn't take his eyes off of. He was startlingly handsome and had a mysterious air about him, Ken recognized him anywhere. It was the same boy from the flower school. How he went through such a dramatic change was beyond him, but he didn't care. His friend was popular! He was praised by people worldwide! And now he knew where to find him!
Excited to see his first love, Kenshin scavenged up as much money as he could to attend one of the concerts. He pushed and fought his way past the crowds of fans (which wasn't hard since most were women) and finally got close enough to his friend. He called out his name a few times, then tried using his stage name, and after nearly losing his voice, the man turned to look at him. Kenshin smiled and waved, trying to reconnect with him, but, for some reason, the man only smiled and waved at him. It wasn't even a friendly smile, it was an automatic smile, a default that was given to everyone. Ken was shocked. Did his friend not recognize him? Or was it the fame that got to his friend's head? After all that time, after all those moments, was he nothing but a fan to him now? That couldn't be right. Kenshin did research on his friend, seeing what other people thought about him. What he got was horrifying. His friend was in love with someone, some scrawny little musician in the same band. There was nothing that could describe the pain in his chest. He never once forgot about his friend, he stayed loyal and loved him, but his friend No, the superstar left his entire past behind to bask in the glory of his fame. Above that, he chased after a brat that was, at the time, in love with another band member!
Fine.
Two can play that game.
Fury and betrayal morphed Kenshin's life. His kindness grew stale until it was a heavy sarcasm that was covered by a cold stare. He found four other musicians and pulled them together to become a Japanese pop band called Kurai Arashi. Years of hard practice later, that band becomes number one in the nation.
It's next goal? To spread its influence and be the first in the world.
And they'll start with Korea.
Specifically, their wonderful band, BLAckJAck.

Personality: On stage, Kaoru is a sweet little angel that often confuses the audience due to his feminine looks. Despite this effeminate look of his, he doesn't seem bothered by all the stares and blatant questions asked to him whenever he's in public, even if it's in his ordinary attire. He brushes it off like someone who's heard a joke many times, and very rarely gets angry about it. In fact, Kaoru doesn't get mad very often. He's level-headed and calm, his maturity makes him like a parent to the band.
Bio: Kaoru lived a simple life, a bully here and there, friends everywhere, and loving parents. What more could he ask for? The answer: money. It wasn't an evil touch, the greed, it just opened Kaoru's eyes to the luxuries of life. He could buy anything he wanted without having to make his parents worry, and he could get the latest toy when he friends got it and play with them! It was an addictive, glorious feeling, but a limited one as well. Or so he thought. In his days of high school, he made friends with a young man that later on invited him to join a band he was forming called Kurai Arashi. What did he have to lose?
The band was doing well, but not great. It was frustrating the lead singer, whom Kaoru began to realize was more of a brat than he led on. After some time, when Kaoru began to think of this band as just a hobby that wouldn't get far, the band's singer burst in with an idea. Roles. Most famous bands in Japan, Korea, and other Asian countries had at least one thing in common: each player had a certain life about them. One was a bad boy, another was a hopeless romantic, etc. This was the key to their success. As everyone settled with their role, Kaoru found himself in the position of being the girlish boy. He was very against it, having not made peace with his feminine looks at the time, but was quickly persuaded when the entire band begged him. He was glad he let them talk him into it, for a simple growth of hair and a smile here and there helped boost their band to the top. The money is wonderful and his family and friends are now also enjoying the wealth.
Next thing left is to visit this other band the leader is so keen on meeting.

Personality: Be it in the band or in reality, Yasu is a wild man. He likes to scream and shout and run about, causing as much havoc as possible. It's most likely because of this childish attitude of his that makes him the baby of the band, though he hates being called that. Yasu is very fun to be around since he's unpredictable, but you have to watch what you do or say, because he's also got a temper shorter than Ken's. What's more, if he's angry enough then he won't even listen and start talking with his fists.
Bio: The reason it seems like Yasu is obsessed with Kaoru is not because of love (at least that's as far as we know). Yasu and Kaoru were childhood friends, or more, Kaoru was Yasu's friend when he was a child.
No one wanted to play with such a hyperactive brat, and the pain of the loneliness made him a bully to many kids. He punched and taunted, stole and manipulated, all so people wouldn't forget him. He was lonely, he just wanted a friend, someone to smile at him instead of run away in fear...
One of the kids Yasu would always bully was Kaoru, even if he was older than him. He'd make fun of him and push him to the ground nearly every day, and one day Kaoru stood up to him. He yelled and accused him of the lonely life he had, and although it was true, hearing it was more painful than he thought. Yasu responded with punches fueled by blind rage. He couldn't stop himself. Before he knew it, Kaoru was very badly injured. Yasu was terrified. He didn't mean for it to get this far. He wanted to cry out for help or to take him to the hospital, but what would happen afterwards? Everyone would hate the person that did this to that poor boy. Everyone would hate him.
So he ran away.
Yasu ran from the sight, going faster when he heard the sound of a woman - most likely Kaoru's mother - crying out. After that incident, he didn't see that boy for nearly three months. In that time Yasu took Kaoru's words into consideration. He made himself become more patient and nice. He stopped bullying the children, and though they still didn't trust him, they were more willing to walk around him now.
Then one day Kaoru returned. Yasu wasn't sure how to respond to seeing the boy back. Would that boy despise him? Before he could run away, however, Kaoru looked over at him.
And smiled.
He told Yasu that he forgave him and that he understood what it was like to be lonely. Yasu could do nothing but stare in shock at the boy that so easily smiled at him. After all those ruthless attacks, after that nearly fatal incident, he was still willing to smile at him? To forgive him?
After that moment, the two became lifelong friends. Yasu protected Kaoru from any other kind of bully, and in return Kaoru would help him with studies and keep him company. They were a strange duo, but the best of friends.
Yasu doesn't even remember how he got into Kurai Arashi, but if he was going in, he was dragging Kaoru with him. He convinced the reluctant man to join and persuaded him to become a girlish boy for the sake of the band. In payback, however, Yasu also became the baby of the band, a title he learned to loathe.
Now he finds himself at a school in America, where another band is supposed to be residing at. Why exactly is he here?

Personality: In both stage and reality, Vinny is very quiet. He seems to always have a dreamy smile on his face, like he's not all there and is just playing his guitar out of muscle memory. Just what does he think about? How can he be so happy all the time but also so dependable? That makes him the mysterious and strongest musician out of the band.
In actuality, Vinny spends his time thinking about designing. No, he's not gay, but he does have a passion for making houses look beautiful. He was even jealous when he learned that Kenshin went to a flower arranging school!
Should you meet Vinny, you'll think it's weird how he's so quiet, but you'll also find that he's strong and very dependable. He's also very cute when you see him squirm during the porn scene of any movie. It just makes him uncomfortable, especially when friends are around.
Yet, despite how strong and reliable Vinny is, he seems like he could make a better caretaker and maid for the band - probably better than Kaoru. Don't tell Yasu that.
Bio: Vinny grew up with a construction worker father and a retailer mother. Sometimes he would go with his mom to work when his father would have to stay out all night, and there he would help fix homes up to make them buyable. He disliked it and wanted just to play with his toys, like any small boy, but one day he and his mother found themselves trying to sell a house to a woman who was trying to find the perfect getaway with her lover. That lover of hers... turned out to be Vinny's father.
Vinny spent the next week hearing his parents scream at each other. It turns out that his father never spent nights working on construction, he was visiting a woman he was having an affair with. It had been going on ever since Vinny was born.
To no one's surprise, the parents divorced, and Vinny was forced to pick who to stay with. He chose his mother. He wanted to be with someone he knew would never lie, at least not as bad as that. But they couldn't stay here. They couldn't stay here where the memories waited to hit them. Although he had to admit, moving all the way to Japan seemed a bit much.
They were a broken pair, shoulders heavy with betrayal and loneliness, but they stayed strong for each other. His mother had to sell more and more houses in order to keep them afloat, and Vinny helped as much as he could by watching home decorating shows to help make houses better. As he grew older, he came to love the shows and even decorating houses. The homes impressed many customers, but very few actually bought. Times were tough, and as the bank sent them a letter threatening to take their house, Vinny was sure everything was over.
Then came Kenshin. He claimed that having a foreigner in his band would be perfect and offered the decorator a chance to make it big in said band. Vinny was reluctant at first, but after a few words he was talked into the band. It was a blessing. He wasn't sure how it happened, but the band hit it big, and now they were at the very top. It felt like a dream. He was famous, people admired him, and he had more than enough money to support his mother.
It's perfect, though he's not sure how the band can top the entire world. Kenshin has performed miracles before, though, so maybe he knows what he's doing...

Personality: On stage, Ryuu is reliable and very smart (can't you tell by the glasses?). He has his sarcastic moments which make him funny, and thoroughly enjoys teasing his band mates. He is the second-in-command of the band, and the proud bass player; he is the manager.
In reality, however, Ryuu is... a bit sadistic. He is the same, though whenever there is something he wants, he will make complicated plans to get them. There also always seems to be a glint in his eye when he's planning something. Ninety-nine percent of the time his plans work, which can make him frightening; the one percent that eluded him was the plan to win over Kenshin. He's hopelessly in love with the brat, it even confuses himself, but he'll do anything to have him. He's tried everything! From heavily dropped hints to locking themselves up in a closet, but it always ends with Kenshin's lust... for revenge against that Korean pop band. This often puts Ryuu in a foul mood, and when he's angry or upset he will jab at every weakness he sees until people are upset as he is.
... What's that? A confession? No. That's absurd.
Bio: Having gone to the flower arranging school himself, Ryuu has always been friends with Kenshin. They were acquaintances back then, however, because he would not dare spend time with a boy who so eagerly spent his own time with... He wasn't even sure he could call that friend of his a human.
When the two parted ways, however, Ryuu gladly resumed spending his time with Kenshin, especially since they went to the same school. They became best friends and were capable of telling each other secrets. It was a good thing, too, because Ryuu was waiting for the right time to confess his feelings to the redhead. How he got them were unknown. He just happened to think of how much he enjoyed his time with the reckless redhead. Seeing such optimism and excitement was refreshing compared to the business-strict family of his, which were constantly breathing down his neck about running their family business.
Class ended and it was time for them to give another secret along with shared laughs and stories over classes. Ryuu looked forward to this particular time. After days of silent practices, he was ready to confess. He opened his mouth to utter those three words when Kenshin beat him to it. ... Although... the third word cut him off guard. Tae-Joon. His best friend was in love with that... thing from long ago. Ryuu asked him why they no longer spent time together if he felt that strongly, and he replied by saying that the boy moved away. Ryoichi paused and let it all sink in. Sweet, wonderful Kenshin was in love with... that. He lost to a disgusting rat that most likely didn't know the first thing about etiquette. What did that boy have that he didn't? Pimples? Fat?
Ryuu couldn't understand it, and distanced himself from the redhead afterwards. He couldn't stare at the lovely face and know that it belonged to an unappreciative brat.
Then, one day after some years, Kenshin ran to him with tears in his eyes. He explained to the blue-haired man that Tae-Joon had changed and wouldn't even acknowledge him. Ryuu blinked and looked at the poster he was handed. It was true that the disgusting boy could actually be stared at normally now. Perhaps this newfound beauty also changed his mind. It was for the best. Now he could finally have Kenshin to himself. It would take time to calm that sad soul, but well worth it.
A band.
It had been a month, and the first coherent thing Kenshin told Ryuu was that he wanted to start a band. Why on earth would he do that? For revenge. Kenshin wanted to crush the spotlight that hung over Tae-Joon. He wanted to destroy that boy that destroyed him. Ryuu was impressed. He had seen his friend make a dramatic change over the month. That beautiful smile turned into a spiteful frown, and those hopeful, excited eyes froze into a scornful glare. The happy background behind him returned to normal, and Kenshin was nothing more than a heart-broken, bitter man. But Ryoichi still loved him. In fact, he loved him more now. Kenshin needed somebody, and if he could get the chance to bring that once radiant smile back on his friend's face...
Thus, Kurai Arashi was born. Kenshin may say that he was the one that roped all of the band members together, but Ryuu was the real brains behind it all. Kenshin invited people to the band, but Ryuu pulled the ones with potential closer and persuaded them to join. With his extensive knowledge of business he was able to advertise in all the right places and decide where the best places to perform were. Everyone in the band may be confused and shocked as to how they became so renowned, but not Ryuu. He was proud of his work, but even then was Kenshin not satisfied. No, he just had to go for that brat's band. Fine. If crushing that band and ruling the world would make the Kenshin his, then Ryuu will do whatever it takes.
