Name: Emory Counsel
Nickname: Spike (what he wishes people would call him -- most just call him Em, which he hates)
Age: 20
Birthday: 7 August
Sign: Leo
Gemstone: Quartz
Blood Type: A+
Fav. Food: Steak, super rare please. He also likes soft-serve ice cream.
Hated Food: Hot dogs. He knows what's in them.
School: DCU, majoring in Social Work
Hobbies: Giving Advice -- Emory is the Dear Abby you never knew you had (or wanted). He's more than happy to dole out advice whether you ask him for it or not. He will offer suggestions and ideas for your problems, and most of the time his suggestions and ideas actually make sense. In truth, he considers it practice for doing social work once he's out in the field. Plus he just loves to put forth his opinions on things going on in your life and get all up in your business. He just loves to put forth his opinions on anything, really. Emory would make a great advice columnist for the school paper if his anger issues and argumentative nature didn't get in the way. He'd let it get to him too much and constantly be losing his temper (or taking it out on underclassmen). He keeps his advice-giving to friends, classmates and teammates.
Basketball -- A fan of most sports, Emory's favorite sport by far is basketball. He's been playing since he was big enough to hold a basketball and lives, eats, sleeps and breathes the game. He even managed to score a full ride scholarship to DCU based on his skill on the basketball court in high school and plays forward on the university team. He loves to watch basketball on tv as well, though he will heckle and critique the players loudly, especially the pros, whom he figures should know how to play the game by now for all the money they make. Regardless, he aspires to go pro one day himself. He is rarely seen without a basketball.
Virtues: Bright -- He's no genius, to be honest, but he's no dummy either. Reasonably intelligent, Emory actually has more common sense than outright smarts. His native intelligences tend more toward basic problem-solving as opposed to complex thought; he's lousy at calculus, for example, but can solve basic math equations in his head. His study habits are lackluster at best, though. He's great at taking tests, especially if they're the multiple-choice variety.
People Person -- Social and outgoing, Emory loves nothing more than to hang out with a mob of people as often as he can. He's a natural at interpersonal interactions and is great at reading people, unless his emotions get the better of him. When he's in "social worker" mode, he will alter how he presents himself depending on the situation and who he's interacting with, even if he's just doling out advice to friends.
Team Player -- Emory really does best when he has a certain amount of structure in his life, and that typically comes from being part of an organization that has a well-established hierarchy. On the basketball team, he knows exactly where he stands and what his position is, and more importantly who's around him and what their position is. He can be counted on to play his part to the absolute best of his abilities and assist his teammates wherever he can.
Athletic -- Tall, lanky and physically fit, he is proud of his physique and keeps himself in fighting trim. He has great spatial awareness in relation to his body and can move like a cat, starting and stopping on a dime on and off the basketball court. He's a natural at sports, though as noted above he focuses almost exclusively on basketball. Emory doesn't believe in excessive bulking up, figuring the muscle would only slow him down. He prefers his rangy build to remain lean, mean and built for speed.
Flaws: Nosy -- Emory wants to know what is going on in your life, all the dirty details. It's for your own good! There's nothing that's off limits as far as he is concerned, especially if you're his friend. He really believes he is being helpful when he pokes and pries into your personal business, and will dig until he gets his answers regardless of how uncomfortable it makes you feel.
Arrogant -- Emory is the absolute best at what he does. Just ask him. Self-confident and egocentric, he is utterly convinced of his own awesomeness and is possessed of a sense of self-worth as big as all outdoors. He thinks he's the best basketball player at DCU, he thinks he knows what is right/best for everyone. The problem is, he's good/right enough often enough to back his talk up, and that only reinforces this belief in his mind.
Jockish -- Yeah, okay, he's a jock. And he often acts like it too. Emory can be a bit of a bully at times, picking on and making fun of underclassmen at school. Sometimes it's meant in good fun, like when he picks on the younger members of the basketball team, but most of the time it really is fairly mean-spirited. His behavior rarely escalates to physical confrontation, unless the other person starts it, but he can more than hold his own in a fight.
Argumentative -- Emory hates being challenged, especially when his well-formed opinions are being called into question. He takes offense easily, and while he can keep it under control for a little while, it doesn't take much to push him over the edge. When this happens, he flies off the handle usually starting with a sharply spoken "Excuse me?" and it only escalates from there. Emory doesn't argue purely for the sake of it; he absolutely hates pure debate because he gets so upset and angry when he's arguing.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Narrow and heavy-lidded, a brilliant pale blue in color, topped by thick purple brows.
Hair: Purple, short and spiky, like he's pretending to be a character from Dragonball Z.
Face: Dark-skinned, oval with full lips, a snub nose, and average ears. His chin is hidden by a small purple goatee (he thinks it makes him look more mature and badass).
Clothes: The standard white t-shirt and denim jeans, slightly oversized so he can move, with high-end basketball sneakers. He typically wears a shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows over his t-shirt, and adds a DCU hoodie and denim jacket when the weather turns cool.

Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant ChrysotileChallenge: "You're going under wraps!" Uniform: SEE THE SHINY ARTS Weapon: Lieutenant: Afghan, like what your grandma would crochet. Reeks of old-lady perfume. The best he can do with it is throw it at your head. Captain: Still an afghan, though it is now blue and no longer smells. It's also lined on one side with an off-white blanket material. Chrysotile throws it at his target's head, only now it temporarily obstructs the vision of his opponent as well as gives the sense of smothering. He has a throwing range of 10 feet; the afghan can be dodged, and it can be cut. General: Massive full-circle blanket-weight cloak with heavy barbed and hooked metal weights on the hem like a war net, blue with off-white lining, which Chrysotile wears hanging from one shoulder. When he throws it at his target's head, it wraps itself tightly around their neck and attempts to suffocate them as it sheds irritating fibers that can get inhaled or cause itching. It also imbues an acute sense of claustrophobia as the target is effectively blinded by the blanket over their head. The claustrophobia and tightening effects last 15 seconds, at which point the cloak becomes just a weighted weapon and can be pulled off; once it is removed, Chrysotile can then throw it again for an effect lasting another 15 seconds. He can also swing it and do damage with the sharp weights. Chrysotile has a throwing range of 15 feet; the blanket-cloak can be dodged if one moves fast, and it can be cut, though it takes some effort.

[ Hey Pixie, sorry for the late reply to your quest!
Giving Advice - Although you have mentioned how much he enjoys doing this is there anything that changes it into a hobby people could see him doing if needed instead of just chatting to people? I.e He could be the schools agony aunt in the school paper? Does he answer questions on his own personal website? Does he scowl websites looking for people to answer and give advice too?
Other than that he sounds like an interesting and fun character! ]

Hey, Tatterpixie!
Sorry about the delay—congrats on the character! I think his civilian profile looks great and I love everything about his powered side, though I have one question about his general stage weapon! How difficult would it be to remove the blanket/is there a limit to how long it can cling to someone's head? I think it has a lot of abilities going on and just want to make sure that it has some limitations so no one winds up at a really unfair advantage, and I think this could be easily avoidable if there was just a little more information on how long the blanket could cling at a time? (For example, perhaps its magic could allow it to cling to a target and deliver the sensation of claustrophobia for up to fifteen seconds at a time, at which point it becomes just a weighted weapon? And then, once the blanket is removed, it can be thrown again and can last up to another fifteen seconds?)
Please let me know if that is something you would be fine with, or if you have another idea! Quote me if you have any question, concerns, or make any changes and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Hi Kyu, and no worries! Your suggestions totally work for me -- I amended his general-stage weapon to reflect the duration and such of the claustrophobia and tightening effects. Let me know if he looks okay! ^__^
