Nondo paced nervously near the bottom of Pride Rock, the dry grass becoming frayed under her paws. She'd requested an audience with the king. It was a bold move, that was for sure, and she hadn't told anybody about it. Not family nor friends, not even Alili.

Nondo'vuta was focused on becoming a warrior, but she feared that the Pride Lands weren't particularly suited to her. She couldn't leave her mother. She had heard tales of war, though was lucky enough not to live through it, yet. With her memory the way it was, she was concerned that if anything happened, she could be injured or worse. Her siblings weren't particularly interested in sparring, either.

So here she was, nervous, but also fired up to preach her case. The adolescent had already been busy training with others, discussing possibilities for protection, but it was also a lot of fun. Her blood red eyes were focused on the entrance to where the king might suddenly appear.

Simi slowly moved down the path to descend Pride Rock. His back leg was growing stiffer the older he got, but he refused to let himself become completely useless. Moving around a bit each day kept him strong, and he rarely went further than Pride Rock anyway.

"Ahh...," he breathed as he nearly reached the bottom, turning past a bolder that obscured his view until he was nearly upon his visitor. "You must be her...Non...I'm sorry, that climb down made me a little winded. Could you repeat your name to me again?" He slowly eased himself onto his rump, intent on taking a breather while she spoke to him. It was impossible for him to remember everyone in the pride, but it was still regretful when he couldn't remember a name given to him. It must be his age catching up with him, he thought with a sigh.

Nondo'vuta looked at the king as he descended with wide, red eyes.

Though she was a bold lioness, she still felt humbled to be in his presence, and to be meeting him alone. Fiesty as she was, she knew her place and she knew that within the pride she served her king. The adolescent had no problem with that, in fact she was proud and she looked at him gratefully.

"It's Nondo'vuta" She said calmly. "But you can call me Nondo." The dark lioness nodded, unsure of how to continue, and conscious of remaining polite, though there were desperate points of discussion waiting to burst from within her.

He smiled at her, resisting a playful laugh. She seemed a little bit starstruck, but still proudly standing up towards him. He appreciated that.

"Its a pleasure to meet you, Nondo," he said with a slight bow of his head. He was always happy to talk to the pride members, especially the younger generations. They were the strength of these lands.

"Is there something I could help you with?" he asked casually, not wanting to push her. He had time, really, since he had already completed his morning meetings.

"You too." She said warmly, offering the king a larger bow in return.

"I wanted to talk to you about the prides protection." Nondo said blatantly. She certainly didn't mean to question his strategy, nor his authority, but her concerns had grown with age and she was certain that how she felt was not going to change any time soon.

"There are a lot of us that like sparring, not just for fun, but to keep ourselves strong." The adolescent paused to compose the words in her head. It was the most composed she'd been in her short life so far. "There are a few of us that meet, and talk about perhaps forming a structure that could better protect the lands."

Her eyes darted from Simi to the ground and her low powerful sounding voice rumbled on. "Not to suggest that you don't have things under control, but I think perhaps if we could offer our services, that may be... useful."

"I'm not suggesting a military, but some of us would be interested in taking a position of greater duty in defending the lands if it were ever necessary." Her eyes were ablaze with an obvious passion and her body language changed suddenly. "This is my home and I would die to protect it. Being a nanny or a huntress is a great calling, but it is not mine, and I wish to try and establish some kind of... group for such unlikely circumstances" She finished gently. Her words were perfectly formed, as if they had been practiced. In fact, they had. This meant a great deal to her.

"I know I'm young and maybe I don't see the bigger picture, but I'm just asking if this would be okay by you, even if it were unofficial. I certainly don't wish to scare others into thinking another war is on the horizon, but I want to pledge my allegiance and my life, as it were."
