The Training Fields of Division Two, it has been specially redesigned by Captain Eko Tsurugi to constantly have shifting pieces of land and constantly moving obstacles and traps to keep the participants of training off guard as they battle one another across the land's tricky environment.
It is generally activated and deactivated by either Eko or Hinata only, as Hinata has also been given the privilege of having power over the blood seal that influences the land's ability of momentum. This is one of the most feared training facilities in all of the Sereiteri, its name infamous as well as the general training that occurs within its areas. When training with Captain Tsurugi or Lieutenant Hana, one does not tread lightly.

The shadows convened together almost immediately, revealing a tall man and a shorter woman by his side, Captain Eko Tsurugi having come to test one of his underlings. Letting go of HInata almost apprehensively, his arms went to his Zanpakuto hilts as he looked around at the numerous squad members training diligently, some of them coming forward and bowing towards him.

He responded appropriately, looking at Hinata with his eyebrows raised as the two of them awaited on Misaki, if she wasn't here already. "Shouldn't be long, I hope." He began to stretch accordingly, popping his neck as he let loose a yawn, walking up towards a dummy. A warm up, I guess. Placing his hands on one of his blades, he looked at the dummy and let loose a deep breath, shooting forward with three rushes of wind sounding out.

They were quick, they were precise, and it resulted with him sheathing his blade behind the dummy, the head, arm, and midsection of the dummy falling down from its center of mass. "A little rough..." he muttered as he looked towards Hinata.

My fate in my hands...

Hinata stepped away from Eko briskly. She had composed herself now, and not even her squad members would be able to tell that she was still distracted. Watching idly as Eko sliced the dummy apart, she just chuckled. "Rough? That was almost surgical. You've got some odd standards." Her smile was wry, and she seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself now. "Why not let me handle her training. You manipulate the terrain as you like, but let me be the one to fight her. Even sealed and holding back, you're a bit beyond someone of her level. Is that alright with you?" Unlike Eko, unless she was getting ready to use it, Hinata kept her Zanpakuto sheathed and at her side.

It was odd how Hinata and he were so easily capable of composing themselves. He watched her and almost cracked a smile as she commented on what he had said. "I was off a couple a couple of centimeters. My rotation with my swing didn't gather as much momentum as I wanted...but I'm nitpicking." He stretched his arms as he let loose another yawn, as he looked at her once more, his eyes glinting as she talked about the testing of Misaki.

He couldn't help but agree, even as he sheathed his one of three zanpakutos.

"That's...for the best." He sat down on a bench nearby as he looked out towards the vast training area before them, "I do hope you'll put her through her paces. But what am I saying, of course you will." Hinata would make her work for the position, even though she was blood. That's just how she was and Eko couldn't help but admire that. His eyes narrowed as he looked over towards the Division Twelve, at least in the direction where it was located. "...I don't know if I like what's going on over there..." he muttered. He had only heard glimpses of the conversations over there but he could sense Rei, Jasmine, Jisaku, and Ayumi there...but the Head Captain was there...and two other captains and Rei...he shouldn't worry too much.

Shaking it off, he looked back towards Hinata with his sharp eyes, standing once more and looking at the rest of his troops. To say the least, he was proud of their work ethic. There was no bullshit in between those troops with experience. It generally didn't take long to break the newbies of their issues, if they had any. "The Division is looking good..." he commented, moving to stand by Hinata as he watched them carefully, "The training has been doing its job, it seems."

The woman nodded as Eko commented on the squad doing well. "We're the fastest squad there is. We're not to be trifled with, as we need to be able to hunt our own, if things go wrong. Every member of this squad is expected to be able to kill another Shinigami of similar spiritual strength. It's to be expected that our members are doing well." At the end of her tangent, Hinata looked up at a Hell Butterfly fluttering down to her. he extended her hand and let the insect rest on it. She brought her hand to her ear, along with the Butterfly, and closed her eyes to listen. After a moment she sighed and spoke to the butterfly. "Alright dear, get some rest. We have a surprise here at the Squad for you when you get better. Now sleep." The bug fluttered away with a flick of Hinata's wrist and she looked over at Eko."Misaki's out for at least the next four days. Flu with minor Pneumonia. Poor girl is having a hard time even breathing without coughing. We'll train her another day. Come. Let's get the Maggot's nest tour over and done with." She looked an odd mixture of disappointed and concerned. Disappointed for not getting a fight, and concerned for Misaki's health.

"We can't help but be the best." he chuckled as he continued to watch his Division. Perhaps it was cocky, but Eko drilled his Division to be the best that they could be and he was certainly proud of the progress that they had over the years. Hinata could probably hear the pride in his voice, and while not particularly normal for him, it wasn't really a bad thing per say. But he truly thought his Division was...well, one of the best. If not the best. A small smile managed to break through his mask as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, looking over at Hinata as she relayed the news to him.

"That's a shame..." he muttered, his eyes watching over her face as she spoke about Misaki, "Let's hope she does get better soon...being sick is no fun, not that I'd know though." Something else he was proud of...never getting sick was just fantastic. But continuing to listen to her, Eko merely walked over to her with a snort, "If you're disappointed, you could spar with the rest of the Division today..." That would be interesting for him to watch. But as Hinata finished her statement, Eko only groaned at the thought of going to that place, not that any could hear it other than the shorter woman before him, "Wish we could push that off..." The Maggot's Nest was just a good way to ruin what was so far a good day.

Hinata smiled sweetly at Eko, knowing well his disdain for the place. She walked over and patted him on the back brusquely. "Think of it this way: instead of having to end a good day in a bad way, we get this out of the way, head back to your house so I can grab my booking stuff, then head for Squad Eleven to go bug Yagari to death! It's only brief check-in anyway, not a thorough inspection, so we only need to spend like five minutes there, at most. Sound like a plan?" She smiled and nudged him gently. She hated the place as much as he did, but she could handle it quite well. Never having been interred there before helped. But she had come terribly close upon her return to the Seireitei after her disappearance. She had shown up suddenly after supposedly being killed, with two little girls in her arms; and as a Visored, to boot. Hinata had been honestly surprised to not be executed on sight. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised.

"I guess." His voice remained quiet as he looked out to watch his Division begin with the endurance exercises, his mind easily in a million or so different places. There was a good reason that he didn't like the place, and it explicitly involved him, unlike Hinata, having been locked up in there for a year in his early years. His own damned foolishness, but he had made sure when Hinata had returned that she didn't end up in there either. He had fought tooth and nail with the old Division Two Captain when it had come to that decision, and he still didn't regret it. Well...they could have executed him as well...but then again, he didn't think much through back then. All he knew was that the Maggot's Nest was not a fun place to be, especially if you were sane. Most people in there weren't but if you were...time would seem to move so slow.

Looking at Hinata as she nudged him, Eko merely snorted and nudged her back as he delved into his own thoughts once more, however he began to feel two people from Division Eleven head in their direction, his eyes closing as he quickly identified who they were. Division Four and Twelve lieutenants...what on earth could they possibly want with Division Two? Well...at least Division Twelve, Division Four was more understandable at least. Keeping his reiatsu signature to almost nothing, Eko looked at Hinata and shrugged. "We have two visitors coming." He gave no further explanation.

XXX At the very least the meeting with Yagari had taught Tatsumaki a few things: the Captain wasn't as bad as she had initially thought him to be, (although she still wished he would control his underlings with more authority), he was incredibly fond of drinking, and he gave lessons in Hakuda and Zanjutsu. From that she'd learned that Nyhil's specialty was in hand-to-hand, a fact that only made her more curious about his zanpakuto. Once they were both out of the office, the petite girl would turn her head to her companion, meeting his gaze for a moment before nervously averting her eyes. "Um.." While they walked she thought over what she wanted to say. "I apologize f-for grabbing onto you earlier." Again she'd pause, taking a deep breath, trying to make her speech as cohesive as possible. "I r-realize it made you uncomfortable. I.. I won't do it again."

Although initially she'd been looking at him, her eyes were now downcast in front of her as she walked. Impulse or not, she berated herself for causing her fellow Lieutenant any sort of discomfort, especially considering her job was to do the opposite. Nevertheless, she hoped she would be forgiven just as easily as Shingi had been, but she would understand either way. She'd lead the way just as she had the first time, now in the direction of Squad Two. She didn't know that much about them, and even if this caused her a bit of apprehension, they couldn't be as bad as Squad Eleven. Right? Unlike before, the girl did not attempt to make conversation, either too tired or too busy scolding herself. Probably both.

After visiting the Captain's Office and finding it empty, Tatsumaki would call out to a member of Squad Two passing by. "Oh, um!" The young woman would stop and turn to her, blinking. "S-Sorry to bother you. Do y-you know where Captain Tsurugi is?" The girl would shrug and purse her lips a little. "If he's not in his office, he's either at home or training. I'd check the Fields first. Ah!" Suddenly the girl would grin widely, eyes narrows while she leaned closer to Tatsumaki. "If you're going there, be careful. Wouldn't want the sweet little Lieutenant to get caught up in a trap and end up full of holes." The Squad member would cackle, and in response Tatsumaki would laugh nervously, stepping back a little and paling slightly. "A-Ah.. R-Right, thank you.."

Unless Nyhil objected, she'd lead him toward the Training Fields, a little more hesitant now that she had the other woman's "warning" in her head. Even so, she'd walk cautiously along the grass, biting her lip until she spotted a relatively familiar figure. Eko was someone she'd only seen a couple of times in passing, and she'd never really had the chance to converse with him, but he was still recognizable. The woman with him was about the same in how well they were acquainted, but she knew that the pair were usually together. Approaching him and Hinata, she'd bow quickly. "U-Um.. Captain Tsurugi.. Hana-san.. I-If you two aren't too busy w-would you mind listening t-to our proposal?"

[OOC: Certainly Squad Two won't be so bad! R-Right? ]

Nyhil smirked as he considered the irony of being glad to put a man with such blood lust behind him for the time being. It wasn't lost on him that he shouldn't at all be the first to judge such tendencies. The Captain had suppressed his pressure out of kindness for a fellow squad member after all, and he kept his office dark – both traits Nyhil could admire. He was therefore distracted when Tatsumaki spoke, not looking at him as they walked where she had on the way here. Her words made him realize how much his aversion was obvious, it was something he needed to work on.

“You couldn't have realized that I distaste being touched without permission Lieutenant, though I do appreciate your recognition of it. I hold no ill will – there are many that seem to lack an understanding of a personal bubble. Is it natural in this age to react so informally to the people around them?” He didn't sound as if he held a grudge. Of course, he never sounded like much more than the polite practiced tone he often reserved for his socialization. If anything, this was a good spring board by which to get his questions on the matter answered. He wanted to know if she should expect such impropriety from all the other members of the court.

As usual, meeting anyone Nyhil stared unblinkingly at the squad two female, making mental note of her reiastu levels...lower than most. The second squadron were damnably good at hiding their pressure – this one less than some. There the random member went leaning right into another personal bubble – it was a stigma that did apparently infest the whole of the afterlife. He canted his head at the statement and remarked. “Why would you want anyone to end up trapped and full of holes? Short of an enemy I would suppose there's little reason to point out something such as that.”

Yup, failing to see beyond the sarcasm in the girl's voice he stared at her confused look as she left the pair of them. He shook his head, well, that's why they weren't in research and development – pointing out the obvious. He followed Tatsumaki, considering her slow movements and just moving along behind her. He still wasn't certain what the drive for her to tag along for these questions was exactly. She seemed terrified more than interested in much of this. As they approached the Captian of Squad Two and Hinata he offered his unusual bow with a hand over his 'heart'. Waiting for a reply given she'd already spoken for them.

Where: Squadron 2 Training Grounds
With: Tatsumaki/Hinata/Eko
OOC: Yup, good ole occasionally clueless Nyhil. He's not afraid cause well...he doesn't really react to emotions like most people.

The Burning Heart

My fate in my hands...
My heart on my sleeve.

Hinata shot Eko an almost dirty look when he managed to weasel out a delay in the trip to the Magot's Nest. "As soon as they leave, Eko, we need to get to the Maggot's Nest and get it over with. I know you hate the place, and so do I. So the sooner it's said and done, the better!" She was waving her arms up and down comically, making the moment seem almost cute. She still however, in the fashion of Squad Two, kept her reiatsu to a minimum. It was second nature here, to remain as unseen and unfelt as possible.

When Tatsumaki and Nyhil came and greeted them, Hinata smiled sweetly and bowed all the way at the waist in return. "Welcome to Squad Two! We'd love to hear what you have to say!" As she spoke, she remained bowed at the waist. Unbeknownst to her, her tail manifested again and began to sway back and forth idly. She stood up to her full height again, smiling widely, almost... cattily. It might unnerve them a little, but Hinata was so used to it that she didn't even notice it was there anymore. She gave Nyhil a subtle nod though, hoping he'd remember her from the short time he was in Squad's Two Custody.

Eko could only look at Hinata with a smug smile as she berated him, almost getting a good laugh as she waved her arms around while she gave him a dirty look, not that he minded. He however, nudged her once and leaned close to her as he whispered, "You know...you're cute when you're frustrated, my dear." His eyes almost laughed at her antics as he looked upward towards the two oncoming lieutenants, his spiritual pressure essentially vanishing as he say Nyhil amongst the two.

Well, normally Eko hid his pressure in public anyways but he knew that Nyhil was one to watch and observe, and not one to forget and surprisingly, Eko wasn't one to try and be observed by people. His eyes shifted over towards Tatsumaki then, his own eyes piercing as he bowed slightly in the stereotypical greeting. He knew Tatsumaki...a little bit. Generally, Eko was one to have Jisaku check him up whenever he managed to actually arrive for Doctor's appointments on time but he had seen the girl on occasion and knew that Jisaku spoke highly of her to Rei and the other Captains. His gaze was unrelenting however as he stood up his arms crossed as he continued to watch and observe the two before him.

"You may speak what's on your mind." Eko's own draconic tail came into fruition, gently smacking Hinata's tail as it began to sway back and forth while the blade at the end of it glinted, Eko's eyes still watching the two before him. If Eko knew what was going on behind him, he would have never let on with his own face.

XXX It was relieving at least to know that Nyhil wasn't too upset with her and that his distaste had been a fleeting moment. The phrase that he used, "in this age", made it seem as though he had not been around others for a long time, something else that alluded to his age and made her question his presence among people. Perhaps despite his longevity he had simply neglected to live among other people, and she was not one to judge another's living habits. Even with her curiosity she wouldn't ask about it yet. If Nyhil ever wanted to discuss his past she'd be open to listen.

For now though, she was more concerned with helping him, even if she wasn't really assisting much. Still, she'd answer his question about people and personal space. "I guess i-it depends on the person." It was a pretty generic answer, but she couldn't act like she could speak for everyone. She herself tended to be generally polite about personal bubbles, unless she was healing or happened to be frightened. Other people, such as the girl they had just been talking to, seemed to have different positions on the matter. It could be frustrating for Nyhil, who was rather socially inept, to figure this out for himself.

His response to the Squad Two member made her smile, and she'd attempt to explain it a little as they walked. "Sh-She was just joking, Dakkar-san. Some people have a.. Um.. D-Darker sense of humor than others." Hopefully her explanation would help at least a little bit. Now with her attention on those in front of her, Tatsumaki's eyes would linger on the respective tails of the two. Hinata's reminded her of a cat, and even her grin was reminiscent of a feline's sly demeanor. Eko's was more like a reptile's and his gaze was much more piercing that anyone else she'd talked to earlier in the day. For a few moments more she'd remain silent, considering what the presence of the tails meant.

Hinata's looked more translucent, and she new that some people could manifest their reiatsu in forms like this. More importantly she was aware that there were certainly individuals that were, for all intents and purposes, half-hollow and half-shinigami. Perhaps either of those in front of her were afflicted by this. Even with the dampened reiatsu, Tatsumaki could still sense something a little unnerving about Hinata's spiritual pressure. Eko's was much more difficult to read, and she didn't expend the effort to analyze it much. Realizing she'd been silent a few beats too long, Tatsumaki would jump right into their reason for being here.

"A-Ah, right! Lieutenant Dakkar was h-hoping to set up a friendly c-competition between the Squadrons. Squad Eleven h-has already voiced their approval, so we were hoping th-that you would sign on as well." Even though she seemed a little more comfortable talking to these people, she was certainly not completely at ease. In fact, her day had been quite long already and she was almost at a point that she would have to turn in. It was probably an easy thing to see, especially for Nyhil who had been traveling with her for most of the day. She'd definitely been getting slower and a little shakier. It had been exhausting, but for the most part a positive experience for her. It was not often that she got to go out of her room and meet new people, and she was quite excited to have made new acquaintances. Patiently she'd wait for the responses of those in front of her with a pleasant smile on her face.

[OOC: I wonder if we'll have to deal with Sanijishi in the near future. ]

A slight grin appeared on the man's face, his fangs obvious when he showed his teeth. He noticed the captain's reaction to his presence and appreciated it – thankfully his glasses would have recorded even a minor show of energy. It still would take him a while to decipher the man's energy as easily as he had others. Nonetheless, he appreciated a challenge...and who better than the Captain of the Stealth Squadron?

Nyhil offered a semi-quizzical expression to the slight nod from Hinata, given what interaction they had in the past was classified he had to assume the girl had some other reason to indicate they knew each other. Then he pieced it together, setting one hand in the other as he silently deciphered one of the days puzzles. Petite women were apparently attracted to him. Hinata acted overtly friendly despite their short meeting being the only time they'd met before. Tatsumaki was finding excuses to follow him about despite it being a clear threat to her health. Had he left the wrong sort of hormones active? A quick thought let him know that wasn't the case. Hmm, perhaps they simply liked him, after all; what wasn't to like?

Nyhil offered Hinata a polite smile, he didn't want to give the girl the wrong idea after all, he'd have to act normally given it was a professional setitng. Her tail didn't seem to concern or interest him. As far as the lieutenant was concerned it was just one more appendage – like any other arm or leg – albeit lacking the same amount of usefulness an extra arm might offer. He nodded toward Tatsumaki as she explained.

“As Lieutenant Hyousetsu has been kind enough to explain, I thought it might be a wise exercise to have the various squadron's share in combat. The eleventh squad captain suggested his own bout with you would work as a great opening bout Captain Tsurugi.” Nyhil kept his pleased expression, he was curious if the captain would find some reason to keep Nyhil from watching him in battle. It would be quite the compliment, but he still hoped the leader would be on board. “With this in mind, I thought other interested squadron's could sign up and straws could be drawn for other interested parties.”

Hinata Hana
The Burning Heart

My fate in my hands...
My heart on my sleeve.

As soon as Eko's tail brushed hers, Hinata's face went red and her shoulders slumped a little. Almost in the same instant, her face went even redder and she looked almost mortified. She flicked her hand across her face and clenched her fingers. Energy crackled around her face and her cat-like mask formed almost instantly. She just as quickly delivered a fierce kick to Eko's kidney, hopefully sending him onto his side on the ground. "Eko I'm Gonna beat your ass!!" She stood on top of him with her foot in his side, smiling beneath her mask, stomping on him playfully. Her ears had formed as well, and twitched gently with every stomp she gave her captain. She did not, however, loose the reigns on her energy for even a second. A few moments later, she realized that the two visitors they had would likely be looking at them oddly. Then she realized she had manifested her mask and tore it off quickly, letting it return to pure energy. "Oh wow... I got carried away again! I'm so so sorry! We would love to join your games! Unfortunately, I'll be taking bets, so I won't be able to fight. Man... I hate being the bookie sometimes." Her ears and tail had remained past the removal of her mask, and they both slumped, matching her disappointment visibly. She knew that they were there, but just couldn't care at this point. Hinata had over reacted to Eko's attempt to embarrass her, making it work perfectly in his favor. She would have to get him for that later. For now, she just twisted her heel into his ribs a little before stepping off of him and offering a hand to him. As always, she smiled gently.

My name on your tongue...
My blade in your back.
