Okay gang, we've just wrapped up the Halloween event and have over forty days to get together something for Xmas. We're going to be needing ideas and donations again. Our theme is going to be a little more obvious and fun. I want to get a lot of participation going on with this event thread and I would like to get some volunteers again for running some of the mini contests or handing out mid level prizes for page posts, a job that literally only takes a few minutes a day to do based on thread activity.
Here's what I have in mind for our Xmas event thread.
✘ Theme: Winter Carnival on Porta Denia - Think winter and Xmas themed games and contests and fun.
Contests, Mini Contests, Games, Activities, and Handouts:
✘ Best Dressed Humans: Theme will be Winter Wear, Xmas, and Winter King/Queen
✘ Best Dressed Paws: Theme will be Winter Wear, Xmas, and Winter King/Queen
✘ Page Post Contest: Once again first post every ten pages that is not the person handing out prizes or a past winner will get a mid level prize
✘ Possible SOP affiliated contest/game: We're still working on the details for this but the SOP is looking to put together something to get each affiliated plot group more traffic during the event.
✘ Possible role-play snack booth: We had something like this for the summer event and if you want it we can work up a food booth for this event
✘ GOSH based short story contest: Our fan art contest didn't do very well so we still have two sets of dolls to hand out. This time I'm hoping a short story contest will work better.
✘ Themed Dres Up Days: I'm kind of wanting to do twelve themed days leading into the 25th itself based on different plot moments on Gaia. It'll be easier to do than 25 days of avatars. Hopefully, this can be something I can get other plot groups to join in on the idea.
We are also very happy to host any activity or freebie you want to run during the Xmas event. If you want to hand out art, do some kind of fun game or activity, or want to hand out treats and gifts but don't want to deal with a thread we'll be happy to host your contest or activity. The last two events we've hosted fun free tarot readings.
So if there's something you think we should try to do or change up how we do them post your thoughts and ideas here. If you have ideas to make the contests better, think something might be better than what we've been doing, have ideas on how we can advertise our event thread better, or have better ideas on how to hand out those dolls as a prize then share your ideas here. I'm working towards a December 10th deadline for shoring up ideas and who will be doing what and December 14th for having the thread finalized and ready to go for the event. So that's over a month to plot and plan and raise funds and gather prizes.

emotion_yatta I'm planning on a project similar to the charms, but there will be no charge this time around. However, I will not be as readily available to bump and host the page as I've been in the past. So others who want to help, please bear that in mind and help keep the thread on the front page~

Art contest. Remember the GCD thread where we all drew what our Casimir trees would look like? Take that to the next level by showing what our Casimir trees would look like, decorated as Xmas Trees. Should it even be a contest, actually? The art for art's/creativity's sake should maybe be more of the point...

Take that to the next level by showing what our Casimir trees would look like, decorated as Xmas Trees. Should it even be a contest, actually? The art for art's/creativity's sake should maybe be more of the point... It can be more of an activity than a contest. Because something like that should be more out of fun that "Oh man is mine going to be better than the other guy's tree".
The art contest we tried the last event bombed. I have over a trillion in GOSH dolls to hand out and I still want to have some contest on top of our usual best dressed stuff where someone wins the full set of dolls that we have.

We have it as an activity, and we members should post up some quickie trees so that we can have a nice forest for people to get ideas from(I've done QUITE a lot myself....I like drawing the trees ok?!), but at the same time we could randomly pick a few trees for rewards. Like every tree done will get a number, and at some point we'll "pull" a number. Whatever tree fits that number gets a prize! It would let people not feel pressured into doing something but because they did do something they'll get a reward! Also I'm trying to figure out a small little something I can do for the group but I'm not sure on this one yet. I was thinking about doing tea leaf readings but make it like Hot Coco readings or something LOL

Feedback/Suggestion:
Um, actually I think I know why the art contest was a flop. Actually I was planning on participating but I kept delaying it because I wanted it to look nice (because there were no entries so it made me self-concious). But I went over to the D-Party and they had a similar art contest. Except when I looked in the thread and saw many other entries for fun, I realized that it was more about being fun and fooling around with ideas. So I may have participated there instead sweatdrop
It's like passing an exam early. At first everyone just kinda looks at everyone to see who would get the nerve to pass first even though everyone's done. But once someone passes their paper, everyone follows. yum_puddi Actually I don't know where I'm going with this much. Sample entry I guess?

If we have an art contest this time around I should be able to participate. With school ending I won't have to worry about school deadlines and my work schedule is pretty consistent...I still think I can do a snowflake freebie idea or something...
