Being a dark mirror senshi was starting to eat away at her gaming time, but then again being a DMS was like a real life video game minus the multiple lives. One error and she could easily find herself important limbs. Youma were no joke, but she’d stopped being afraid of them a long time ago. Running away did no good; some were just as fast as her as she’d learned the hard way. It was better to catch them off guard while she hunted them, she was the predator after all not those monsters and Ubasti planned on keeping it that way.
Winter for someone who went around town looking for some escapades was chilling. Her dress covered some, but not all of her skin and since the chill had settled in the city her skin always had some goose bumps freckled over it. Rubbing her arms, Ubasti made her way to the last park on her list. The night had been eerily quiet, not a soul out, she hadn’t even spotted a senshi out either. No one liked this cold yet here she was. Ubasti aimed for the children’s park first, climbing up the jungle gym and looking across the park from her vantage point.
Still nothing. Ubasti let out a sigh, what a waste of a night. Of course, it was hard to spot a youma half buried in the sandbox which was the color of said sand. It opened one eye, then another and a third when it spotted her figure. It shifted from its position, moving just under the jungle gym when she turned around. Ubasti saw nothing, focused on her surroundings and not on what lurked just below her ready to strike out.

Merlinite had gotten the hang of this Captain thing, or so he felt. He had not had any of the really big fights that he wanted under his belt by now, but he was learning more and more about what it really meant to be a Negaverse soldier, and he was growing with that knowledge. He wanted to be the best there was, of anything out there, and that meant he needed to keep coming out and doing his patrols, taking risks, and learning how much more he can accomplish.
He still felt eager to learn and to grow. That was good, because once his motivation dried up, it was nearly impossible for him to get back into it.
Feeling the aura of something nearby, though not Order and thus not too promising, Merlinite decided to head toward it and see what he had. Soon enough, he spotted the source of the aura and he frowned, tilting his head.
Dark Mirror senshi were an enigma to him. He was not really sure how he was supposed to react to them.
"What are you doing out here, Miss Thang?" he asked, walking up to her casually. She had an interesting look about her, that was for sure, though he could not make everything out in her outfit with it being so dark. He did not call his weapon to his hand just yet, testing the waters a bit.

Ubasti whipped around hands going up with her palms out. She hadn’t been paying attention to the auras around her or she would have known he’d be there. She lowered her hands onto the railing and leaned slightly over it. “Hunting.” She regarded him quietly, trying to figure out what rank he was. “What are you doing out here?” Ubasti wasn’t really too sure on how to respond to the Miss Thang comment so she ignored it completely. She didn’t know if he was friend or foe, but that was always the case with the Negaverse. You could never be sure as to whose side they were on.
One of the youma’s eyes caught the other invader and it completely stopped moving. It could not get caught now could it? Perhaps, it could get both, just need patience. Or perhaps, it should get the one above from behind since she was distracted. Slowly shifting towards the shadows, it made its way into the slide and slowly began to crawl up. Hopefully the other being hadn’t seen it.

Captain Merlinite arched an eyebrow in amusement at her response to his voice. What was that supposed to be? Was she immediately giving up, or trying to look tough? He was not sure just yet and decided to leave it for a few more moments, before he drew any conclusions about her.
"Hunting what?"
He grinned at her, tilting his head with a snide little look on his face. He was feeling confident, over confident, and he was looking for trouble tonight. He was not sure if Dark Mirror senshi were as fun to fight as White Moon ones, or as important for his reputation, but hey, he would take what he could get if she was antagonistic to him.
He did not notice the youma, since they were not usually a threat to him. He was a Negaverse Captain, after all: youma were a Senshi problem. Sure, some got out of hand, but he had never encountered one before.
"I'm on the hunt too, oddly enough! For senshi."

Seriously, what was he supposed to be? A negaverse troll? Then she heard a weird scratching noise coming from the slide and turned towards the slide. Were they trying to double team her or something? One distracted her and the other got her from behind? She turned back to the guy in front of her, eyes narrowing. “Nice try buddy. Real cute.” Moving towards the side, Ubasti looked into the darkness and waited patiently. She’d show them, she rubbed her hands together already feeling the itch that whoever was coming up the slide would also feel once she got her hands on them.
Teeth snapped in her face and she reeled back. “Oh sh—“ No time, she backed away from the slide as the youma came up. She moved back until her feet met air and she fell down some of the steps. The youma had come through now and was moving towards her, jumping down to land on her. Ubasti rolled to the side, pulled herself up closer to the Negaverse agent then she liked. “I think you might want to start hunting youma.” The youma snapped its teeth at them, oh well. It would have both of them here and now. It lunged for them and Ubasti moved jumped away from the agent.

Merlinite looked perplexed at her snarky comment. He was the one that was supposed to be cocky and annoying, wasn't he? He was supposed to be in control, but he did not know what she thought he had to do with the youma on the slide.
Oh. She thought it was his. Right.
Except it wasn't. He had no control over it, and he had very little interaction with youma at all. He had no idea what to do with them, spending no real time in the Rift, and definitely not spending enough time researching this part of the job to understand what he was supposed to do here. He wanted it to listen to him, but he had no idea how to make that happen.
If it was even a thing. He knew some Negaverse folks had youma they could order around, but this guy was probably one of the wild ones? Or... something.
Merlinite saw the youma jump at her and winced a bit, shaking his head.
"I don't know if I'm supposed to hunt those!" But he did not seem to have a choice, as the thing attacked them both. He called his mace to his hand, frowning and watching the senshi as she bounced away, then looking at the youma. "Well, as long as no one finds out."
How did he always get himself wrapped up in situations like this? He moved forward as the youma attacked, swinging his mace for its face as hard as he could.

“What do you mean you don’t know if you’re supposed to hurt those?!” What kind of ridiculous answer was that? What in the world was he talking about! If he didn’t get his head in the game she was going to end up as youma food. She’d heard rumors here and there about the Negaverse and their abilities with youma, but she wasn’t sure if the information was correct or not. At least he got his weapon out and swung at it. While it was down Ubasti got in close and laid both hands on it before it could move away. “Arid Dry!”
She had to move quickly it get out of the way, but was too slow and got smacked by one of the limbs. The move threw her off balance and towards the ground where she landed on her side and rolled out of reflex. The youma however was busy trying to satisfy the itch he had, it mad angry noises but as much as it scratched the more it spread everywhere. “Finish it will it’s distracted.” Either the youma would run away or he’d kill it. Either way, there was no way she was trusting him after this. He’d probably brought the youma with him anyways!

Merlinite always seemed to be helping Senshi more than hurting them. Sure, this one was kind of a Chaos one, but not exactly the same, but still... it was a Senshi! And he was trying to hit a youma, which were definitely a Negaverse thing! How did he always manage to get so turned around, when he tried to see his world so clearly?
He was going to have to figure this out some day.
"You finish it! I don't want to!"
There, he was finally getting his priorities right. He could not be yelled at by one of his superiors if they ever heard tale of his adventures tonight. He was not going to be known as the Nega that killed youma, right? He was already hiding a friendship with a senshi and trying to compensate by picking on the weakest of the bunch. Really, he should be doing better than all this.
He folded his arms over his chest stubbornly and watched her as she struggled with the youma, wondering about her magic but doubting she would be up to talking to him much after all this was done.

Ubasti gave him the most incredulous look ever, did he not see that she had no weapon in hand and that her ability at this point was practically useless?! Her seconds ticked away though, the youma stopped scratching itself and paused confused by what was happening. Ubasti gave the Negaverse a cool deadly stare. She took a deep breath and thought things through. Her eyes glanced at the swings nearby and an idea form in her mind. She couldn’t use her ability again, it was only useable twice in battle and if the agent decided to come after her then she needed to be ready to take him down too.
The youma turned towards her since she was the nearest and lunged for her. Ubasti took a running start towards the swings, she jumped through the area where someone would be sitting and then rolled when she landed. The youma tried to follow her but one of its limbs got caught tripping it in its attempt. Ubasti grabbed the swing next to it and wrapped another of its limbs in it and did the same with the other side until the youma was securely twisted in chains from the set. It kissed at her when she got in front of it, but she made two fists with her hands and brought it down heavily on its head.
It didn’t kill the youma, certainly dazed it enough so that its limbs went limb in the chain and it fell to the ground. That’s when Ubasti kicked in its skull and finally killed it. This was dirty work that could have been avoided if he’d simply helped her. She turned towards him again, hands unfurling and furling until she finally pointed at him. “You are so not nice.” It was lame, but really at the moment that was all she could manage. If she could get her hands on him she was going to make him itch! “What is wrong with you?!” Oh yea she was pissed.

Yeah he definitely did not make a new senshi friend tonight, but what did he care? He was not going to go home crying about it, since he was actively trying not to make any more mistakes. At least not ones that could get noticed and get him in trouble.
He watched the battle unfold, grinning at her ingenuity. She had some good ideas, at least, and he was surprised that the blow was not enough to dust the thing. It was tougher than it looked, or maybe she was just weaker than she looked. But he doubted that was the case.
She did get it on her next attack, though, and Merlinite lifted his hands to clap for her, but she was already coming toward him. And boy did she look pissed.
"I'm a Negaverse Captain," he said pointedly. Of course he wasn't nice! He wasn't supposed to be! "And you had things in hand! Why should I fight something that's out here helping my cause? Anyway, I don't know you and I don't owe you anything. As far as I can tell, you're just another senshi."
He called his club back to his hand, just in case.

Was he clapping at her? Really… Ubasti just kept on coming closer to him eyes narrowed and finger still pointed at him until she reached him and poked him. Though his confession that he was a Captain did make her pause briefly. It meant he was, more or less, a rank above her which meant just a tad stronger and he did have a weapon. Why did Negaverse get weapons and not the Dark Mirror? It made things so much harder for her because she had to get close enough to touch him, kind of like she was now. Did she try it? The thought was a fleeting one across her mind but maybe just maybe if she caught him off guard. It was a great plan if she didn’t fail.
“Arid Dry!” She threw her hands at him, not caring if she touched skin or cloth or if she’d just blindly went in and missed. Problem was, she had to get back and get back quickly before he got a swing at her with his weapon. Whatever the case, Ubasti moved back just as quickly as she’d tried to strike at him to avoid his club. Though she was quite sure she’d missed him which meant she was out of juice for the rest of the fight which she’d started. Perhaps not her best laid out plan, but that was okay. Maybe she’d get a punch in or two at some point if she got lucky with her hits.

Merlinite had made some mistakes here, that much was very clear to him. She looked pissed, and he knew that pissed off senshi of any kind were never a good thing for a Negaverse agent. But hey, maybe because they were both chaos that would mean something, and she would be calm and reasonable and let him explain that this was all just a big mistake stemming from a few bad jokes...
Nope.
"Whoa, whoa!" He had seen what her magic did to the youma and when he heard her shouting her attack he scrambled to get away from her. Senshi magic was the worst and he really hated getting spells used on him. He was lucky to avoid her touch but now he knew she meant business. He did, too, of course, with his club in hand.
"That was stupid."
He charged in this time, taking a swing at her with his spiked club, not caring now if she was a dark mirror senshi or a chaos senshi or a white moon one, or some other type that he was not really aware of yet. It didn't matter. Senshi were always senshi, and he decided then that he did not like them. Well, most of them.

The swing had to be expected, Ubasti moved away just in time to see the club swing inches from her. Really, she needed to take up some form of martial arts soon or she was going to die out here and it wasn`t going to be because of youma. Ubasti stared him down, she didn`t have another attack to hit him with since she`d used the other on the youma. Why oh why did the Negaverse have to have weapons? She really did need to get stronger because this was getting ridiculous. Maybe if she got a hold onto that club of his.
He’d be on her just as quickly if she didn’t move so she went in trying to get close to him so he wouldn’t have enough room to swing. She tried to aim for a punch when she got closer, but if he swung at her it would connect and she was going to hurt for the next few days. Either way, she prayed for the best. Maybe she could survive a few hits from the club so she could get a couple of punches on him too if she was careful.

Merlinite was not happy that she had decided to attack him, but he was all too eager to show her the size of her mistake. No one messed with Merlinite and got away with it! Except all those people before this one fight that had fought him and got away with it... but this was going to be the start of the change.
Definitely.
He kept swinging for her as she tried to hit him, opting to swing his club low and for her midsection, since he knew it would hurt and probably knock the wind out of her. The spikes were plenty pokey enough to add some nasty depth to a bruise, for sure.
She did manage to connect a punch to his face, though, and that surprised and threw him off for a moment. He hated being hit, especially in the face. If he bruised he was going to be pissed. Or more pissed than he was now, which was pretty pissed...
"Damn it, Senshi!"
