User ImageA breeze ruffled through, ruffling the leaves that held the place of hair on the mare's head. She took a deep breath, savouring the familiar smell of a forest. This was a new one she'd traveled to; but even still, she found they all had a similar smell. To her, it was the smell of home. Sunlight drifted down through the canopy and she basked in it, lest the leaves on her head wilt and die. She didn't have the confidence to pull off being bald. In the distance, she heard the trickling of a stream and was reminded of how parched she was. She made her way there, dipping to drink.

For the moment, she was content. She'd forgotten about her worries; about her need to find her mother and bring her home, about her brother and father off in the other direction; wandering unknown lands. Like most good things that came to her, the feeling of contentedness did not last and she looked up at the sky, judging the position of the sun. It would be night soon and though the crystals and flowers that grew on her gave off light, it was more of a hindrance than a blessing. It meant she was easy to spot and in a land where kalonas and skinwalkers roamed that wasn't something one wanted.

Even now, the sun was setting behind the trees and she was giving off a glow, various moths and such already flocking towards her. She gave an exasperated sigh and frowned a little. "Well, I guess I should figure out my next move..," she muttered, breathing through her nostrils to shoo a moth.

He was starting to venture farther away from the temple now. At first, he just wandered within a few miles. He'd keep close to his home and work his way around large trees and the flowing streams. He'd work with the animals to map out the dense jungle. But since his brother found his way away from the temple and started his own life, it left Hunahpu alone. And the large stallion, even though he was strong and smart, did not like being alone. And his brother was no longer n the temple. And while he refused to leave his territory, he could explore often. That being said, he was certain no one would venture into the old ruins without some form of... guide? It wouldn't be wise to run through the temples. They could turn into a maze, and that was one thing no one should try and do alone.

Shaking out his mane of feathers and hair, Hunahpu huffed lightly, his eyebrows pulling together. He needed to figure out his own purpose now. Needed to figure out where he was going. Aside from fending off attackers from his mother and Dimitri, he needed something else. He needed to know that he wasn't wasting his life away standing in the temple doorway protecting it. His ears pinned back, before he breathed out a small sigh. His cat like tail flicked behind him, brushing the ground for a moment before lifting up and away. His clawed feet kicked up dirt as he maneuvered through the edges of the jungle. He had walked a straight line until he came to the edge, and now he knew how far it was. He frowned, squinting up at the setting sun before turning around and peering back at the direction he came. Now that he knew where the edge was, it was time to go back. It had only taken him a few days to make his way this far; but that was no reason to stay so far away.

The large stallion started back toward his home. He flicked his ears back, frowning as he moved. This was... well. Interesting. That was one more thing off his list of things to do. He lifted his slit eyes to look around the area as he moved. The jungle at night was a lot more dangerous than during the day. He turned his head at a noise, and then turned back forward, only to stop. His wings folded tight against his back and his head cocked to the side at something glowing... glowing. Like mushrooms. But mushrooms didn't move. He pinned his ears, eyes narrowing slightly before he moved quietly forward and toward where the glowing object was, wanting nothing more than to figure out what it was.

Isilmé had heard footsteps and froze in her place. Her breath hitched in her throat and slowly she turned her head, trying to see any hint of what it was that was stalking her. She swallowed hard; certain it was a creature of the night who had come to do her harm. She turned fully; cursing the glow of the crystals that rendered her vision in the night all but gone. She tried surveying the area close to her; but these forests were new and she had no idea where to go - not that it would do her any good - a bright glowing target wandering through a dark forest.

She took a deep breath and furrowed her brow a little, taking a more sturdy stance; hooves digging into the ground. If she was going to get eaten she was at least going to put up a fight. "Well?" She called out into the night. "Don't just stand there. If you're going to eat me come and get it." A part of her regretted her words. It was not best to taunt a foe. They could, perhaps, prolong her death and draw out the pain. She shivered, taking a slow step back towards the stream, tail dipping in the water.

Hunahpu hadn't expected her to turn and talk. To talk to him. His eyes flickered along her, pupils growing large for a second at the sudden light before going back to narrow slits. His cat like tail flicked behind him. And though she spoke, he was confused as to what she said. What was it? The only thing he had really understood was eat.. And that was because he'd learned that word from another. He frowned and tilted his head one way, and then the other, contemplating what to do. Hunahpu wasn't one to just wander around and meet new people. He didn't like being social. Specifically because he didn't understand half of it. His ears pinned slightly, and he waited.

When she didn't talk again, Hunahpu pondered. His wings folded tight against his back, and he took a small step forward. First one, then another. Until he was able to be scene in the glow of her gems. His cat like body shifted some and moved toward her, but stopped a safe distance away. He stared at her with curious eyes, ears pinning, and tail swaying. He wasn't certain what she was going to do, but she was in his territory. And Hunahpu had to figure out who it was. What she was doing. His claws dipped into the ground, dragging on the dirt for a moment before he dipped his head slightly toward her, as though greeting her in his own special way.

"Hola. Qué estás haciendo aquí?" Hunahpu murmured, voice curious. Though he was certain she wouldn't be able to understand him. No one understood him. Hunahpu flicked his ears up, watching her with light eyes. His tail slowly swayed again, staring at her with gentle eyes. He was at ease, and slightly hoped that the way he stared would show that he wasn't wanting to hurt her. At least not on purpose.

Isilmé watched as the stallion - for in the dim light she was certain that's what he was - moved towards her. She noted the claws and took another slow step back, sucking in a breath as her hooves dipped into the stream. Her eyes never left him and her muscles were taught, ready to flee should she get the chance - not that it would be much help if she did. The bark on her leg wasn't as light as it seemed. Great for armor - not so great for getting away.

He stopped and she allowed herself a moments relaxation - releasing a breath she hadn't been aware she was holding. He spoke and she tilted her head, not understanding the words. His tone relaxed her - it seemed pleasant enough and his voice was soft, rumbling. She took a step forward, allowing herself out of the stream and onto dry groun. "I'm sorry," she said slowly, for she wasn't sure if he understood her. She tapped her hoof and nodded, trying to indicate herself. "Isilme. No danger. Safe." Would he understand that much?

She bowed her head a little, showing she had enough trust to let her guard down.

The large stallion stared curiously toward the mare that seemed all too willing and wanting to run. His head tilted slowly to the side, and he watched her with eyes like a cat. His tail swayed behind him, the tip brushing the grass blades swiftly and caused them to move under him. His claws dug into the ground slightly, pulling at the earth and pondering ripping it up; though it would be on accident. He'd never seen her around... never seen her wandering the jungle. Hell, he had never seen the glowing flowers and... were those stones? His eyes flickered along the bright blue, before lifting up to stare toward her features. And then, she was moving forward, carefully of course. She was moving to where she was able to stay out of the stream, which was a good thing. Hunahpu knew that the stream often had flares of water flow, and could sweep anyone out from under their hooves or claws. His tail flicked once more, before he paused to lift his head toward the treeline, looking over it. It was dark... what was she doing out at dark?

When she spoke, Hunahpu's eyes locked on her once more, and his ears snapped up, pointing toward her with purpose. He seemed to be analyzing the way she shifted and moved; how she was trying to relay a message. And he understood some of it. Danger being one. He bared his fangs for a moment, his ears pinning back as he narrowed his eyes toward the mare. Danger was not something he wanted to hear. He glanced around slightly, trying to see if he could pinpoint a dangerous being in the area. He was dangerous, after all, but surely she wasn't. And then he caught the rest of her sentence. He glanced back toward the mare, staring some as she seemed to bow to him. Confusion entered his features, and he moved slowly forward, his claws staying low to the ground, not wanting to seem threatening. If his claws were low, he couldn't strike; which was perfect.

"Señorita, ¿por qué te inclinas? No soy..." He paused at the end of his sentence, seeming to try and find a good word. His head tilted slowly to the side and seemed to analyze her. After a moment, he breathed out a sigh and used the only word he could think about to her. "God... No soy God..." He mumbled. He dipped his head down slightly to be level with hers. Moving the tip of his wing, he reached out and brushed the feathers carefully under her head and pushed up, aiming to get her head to lift and be held high again. He was firm believer in holding heads high and carrying yourself with confidence. His tail flicked once more, and he tilted his head down toward her, staring curiously. "Safe." He stated firmly, folding his wings at his sides.
