Chel had enlisted herself for duties the entirety of the morning, beginning at 3am and sluggishly trailing on until 8pm. She had intentionally done so, as to wast as much of her time as possible. She wanted this day to be over as quickly as possible. In hindsight it was very unfortunate, because Halloween was Chel's favorite holiday.
At 8:30 or so, she finally crashed into her bed fully intending on sleeping. She hadn't washed her makeup off, but quite frankly she didn't care. It would be a trainwreck she would have to fix later.

While 3AM was a bit early to begin working, Abbi certainly hadn't skimped on her own duties for the day, though they were notably less than Chel's had been. Of course, Abbi hadn't a clue that her friend had been so busy, mostly because she herself had been pretty occupied. What with trying to apply nice makeup and false eyelashes and all... The lashes had taken her five tries, three on the first eye and two on the second, but finally just as the sun was really setting did her find herself acceptable in appearance.
So it was with great relish that she hopped in front of Chel's door around 8:47 and rapped in a jaunty manner. "Trick or treat! Smell my feet! Give me something good to eat!" She cheered in a sing-song tune.

Chel threw a shoe at the door, very silently saying go away.

Since she had pressed an ear against the door to hear if Chel was in, Abbi felt the force of the shoe and jumped back with a squeak. Unfortunately there were a new pair of high heels to contend with and, quite unused to them, Abbi toppled over the back of them and fell down with a clatter and a loud squawk.
"CHELLLL I FEEELLLLLL!!"

Chel sighed, feeling very much like the adult in the situation, which was something she never liked feeling like. The whole situation was gross, gross, gross, and she almost debated falling back asleep.
Unfortunately for Chel, Abbi was a friend and Chel's ethical code didn't allow her to just leave the girl at the door. So makeup smeared and clothes disheveled, she slumped out of bed and began shuffling to the door.
The door was opened and a very not-Halloween-enthusiastic Chel answered it. Her glare was one that could have actually rivaled Jack's, another surprising similarity between the two. "You okay? I got ice if you need it." Always giving, always.

By the time Chel had reached the door to open it, Abbi had jumped back onto her feet, tottered around for a second and regained her balance. With that under her grasp she posed with one hand on her hip and one pointer finger poked against her chin, her cutest pose given the revealing costume.
When the door opened Abbi smiled brightly and waved. "There's a costume party at like that bar thing or whateves. C'mon, we're going!" She did have a hard time not saying anything about how crazy Chel's face looked what with the smeared make up and sleepy gaze.

"Oh good. A party down in satan's a*****e with shitty piss water. Sounds real fun." Chel was a combination of tired, hungry and emotionally exhausted.
Chel made a gesture to the entirety of her person. "This ain't perdy bro. Ain't gotta costume and ain't gonna risk seein' Jack makin' googoo eyes and singin' guitar serenades to Hanna dude. I just don't have it in me man." For some odd reason, the incident in the cafeteria had made Jack and Hanna's relationship real, and something to fear way more than Hanna's "pep talk." Yet for all she felt, she only yawned and scratched her face idly, picking at some of the leftover makeup.
It was now that Abbi was standing up that Chel saw the entirety of Abbi's outfit, and she was far from displeased. There was a good half a minute of "I'm checking you out" looks. "Yer lookin' like a fine piece of a** though. Don't let me ruin yer fun." As revenge for the loud awakening, Chel teased, "'Course yer always welcome to stay in with me too."

The stream of curses made Abbi laugh, completely undeterred from her goal of getting Chel to tag along. "I'm sure they've got your particular form of poison." Please come with her to the bar Chel please please please.
As for Jack, well, Abbi gave her a stretched mouth look that showed a portion of her teeth and a look that said 'look I don't blame you'. An exaggerated roll of eyes followed next and she eventually settled on a shrug. "Well, A) if he's there I'll kick him in the shins for you. B) You won't even notice because you'll be having too much fun and getting drunk of your cute butt." Feeling extra tarty she winked at her friend.
"Isn't it cute?" She decreed with a twirl, turning to show off the bow on her backside. "Nawww! C'mon, you gotta come with me! I need a Wing Lady!"

Chel sighed, because she both knew what Abbi was doing and knew what she herself was doing. When had she become such a recluse?
It irked her.
"Fine, fine," she said. Really it was a bad decision; she needed sleep and to care for herself a little more right now in such a fragile state. Chel had never been the best at making decisions, now had she. "C'mon in." She pushed herself off the door frame she'd been leaning on and turned tail. "S'gonna take me a while to wipe off this s**t and redo it anyways."
She yawned again and began the trek to her wardrobe, on top of which sat a mirror and all her belongings. "Gonna need a costume too." This was already becoming more of a headache than necessary.

AWWW YISSSSS!
Abbi hopped into the air and then skipped into Chel's room, tripping around excitedly as she twirled happily in her stupid, skimpy costume. "That's fine! We got time! You work on make up and I'll see what I can find in your closet!" Unless Chel said no, Abbi opened it up and began to rifle through. "Got anything in particular you could be?" She tilted her head to and from side to side. "Guess this nurse could always use a patient." Another wink because look she was feeling very fine in her costume.

Chel reached for the plastic wrapping of a pack of makeup wipes, opening up a new batch with a crisp pop. One was carefully removed as she began healing the damage.
"Not really. Whatever it is I gotta have my shades. More of my face that's covered the better," she hissed as some of the material touched her eye. She was sloppy at the moment. "Hey now, careful usin' that kind of talk 'round here. Might have to turn this room into a quarantine."
Don't try to flirt with Chel, Abbi. She will win every time.

"OK, so with something sunglasses. Alright, alright. That makes things a bit more complicated..." Abbi twisted her mouth around as she thought about it, blue eyes surveying the clothes in the closet. There was a lot of work with, thankfully, but her mind was in every direction at the moment. "Have any shades in particular you wanna wear?"
A laugh left her, though it took Abbi a second to figure out that quarantine was a joke and not an unfortunate mention toward Chel's time in the place. "Hey! I can't waste all my healing powers here! I gotta get to the party and find some hurt soul to fix up!" Another pointer finger was pressed against her eyebrow, another cute motion and salute to Abbi's dedication of having a good time tonight.

"Yeah, yeah. We'll set you up good," Chel said with a wave of her hand. "And if they're all healthy, I'll take ya myself."
Makeup was fully wiped off now, and she wasn't about to apply any until she'd picked her costume. She shimmied over to the closet and began pulling out a few things. "Lil devil?" She asked, holding up one of the only dresses she owned, a skimpy red dress she'd purchased for the Deus formal mission ages ago. "Ah, but damn I don't have horns."

There was a moment of consideration but finally Abbi nodded. "Acceptable." She settled on with a grin.
The teen hmmmm'd and mmmmmm'd and errrrr'd for a while. "We could twist your hair up into little horns, I saw a tutorial on it." But that didn't feel... Good enough. It wouldn't work well with the shades. Instead Abbi pulled out a blue tank, a black vest, and a lacey skirt. "I like these... Any of these call to you?"

"You ain't touchin' my hair," Chel said, setting down a boundary. Chel didn't even let Chris touch her hair unless he was holding the dye bottle for her. Her hair was her own personal playground, the only thing she got to control. She'd never hand it over to another.
The black vest sparked her imagination. "Oh I got it. Hand me those leggings on the doorframe." She pointed to the pair she was talking about. They had a hole in them, but so did the rest of her clothes. More importantly, they were black with a pink stripe down the side.
She began to strip down, shirt first. She grabbed one of her white shirts; of course, it wasn't entirely white since it had SUNS OUT GUNS OUT in big black letters, but it was the closest thing she had to a purely white shirt. That was slipped on first, and then she held out her hands for the leggings.
