The half-moon above did not make Halloween very interesting, but very little frightened her this Halloween - less than things usually did, and Emily supposed she had Cas to thank, wherever the (traitorous, heartbreaking) guy was. Still, she was doing better - and looking forward to seeing Canopus again helped significantly. Still, a concert in the park sounded freaking amazing, and Emily walked along contentedly, humming as she neared enough to hear violins and guitars. It was a local gothic group and not her usual tea, but she gave all kinds a chance and it suited the Halloween spirit. Besides, one never knew. It could be pleasant.

Annabelle had obviously spent way too much time in Mirrorspace. Even the half moon seemed odd to her. Oh well. The girl was taking an evening stroll because she needed to wind herself down. Meeting her girlfriend's personal youma was odd and it had her thinking if there were actually more intelligent ones out there that have been mindlessly dusted because everyone thinks youma are just brainless freaks. Maybe they're just following orders?

Ah, but then you got into the trickiness that is politics, and as far as Annabelle was concerned, well, she hated politics. And so this walk was supposed to help her clear her mind, and it was working until she her dozens of people and music blaring from the park. Why? She frowned and headed that way. Annabelle really knew nothing of local bands or even paid too much attention to the date.

Emily's gait was calm, strolling along as she nodded her head to the music as she moved, looking at the throngs of people. Briefly she considered if she could muscle through the crowd, and decided not to - one never knew what one ran into out here, and today was no exception as he moved towards the crowd, glancing to someone.

"Good night for gothic, mmm?"

Above the crowd, Annabelle heard someone talking to her. She distractedly turned her head and let her eyes linger on the crowed for a moment longer before laughing. "It looks like it. I didn't know we had a goth band..." Not that Annabelle knew anything about those freaks. Who dressed like that in public and actually thought they looked good? Weirdos.

She looked Emily over, tilting her head a little. "I'm Annabelle. I thought I'd come out here for some peace and quiet, but it looks like those plans are up in the air now." She didn't know if she was mad or not.

"Emily." The girl bowed politely.

"Well it's quite here more often than not," Especially when there wasn't a giant powered battle in the park. "But it's Halloween. C'mon, don't you think some good ol' death depression and darkness is fitting? Besides, they seem pretty good. Definitely got the 80's Gothic genre down." Emily beamed contentedly.

"You might try the coffee shop nearby for quiet though. I could show you the way?" Emily offered.

Emily seemed like a familiar name. Shrugging a little more, she looked towards the band and then blinked a little. Was it really Halloween? "Is... Oh God, is it really?" She'd really been spending too much time in Mirrorspace, she hadn't even realized it. It was one of her favorite holidays, too! With brows knit, she sighed and just pushed a hand through her hair.

"My girlfriend is going to kill me for forgetting." She groaned until Emily offered to show her the way to coffee. Her life blood. "Yes please."

"Special anniversary?" Emily asked gently. Carefully, she began to lead Annabelle towards the small shop nearby, minding not to delay too much. She understood a need for peace and quiet and didn't intend to exacerbate a thing.

"Hopefully not too late to do something?"

"Oh no, nothing like that. She followed the girl, hands coming behind her back before laughing. "We just really like Halloween. Any chance for girls to play dress up right?" Though, from the looks of her, Emily didn't seem the kind to enjoy it, but people could be surprising. She tried not to judge right away but it just happened now and then. It was human nature, wasn't it? Shaking her head, she fiddled with her hair, obviously her hands needed something to do.

"We can probably throw last minute outfits together and go to a party tonight. I'm sure I know of some." Annabelle giggled a little at that thought.

"There should be a store with last minute outfits." Emily agreed, chuckling.

"Admittedly? I like Halloween. But I use any excuse to dress like a Superhero or something." Emily seemed to smile, turning red. "I mean. why wouldn't I want to?"

"How charming, a superhero! She'd never thought of that before. "I'm thinking of going towards something like Jasmine from Aladdin. You know the scene where she's seducing Jafar? I want to wear that... Only in pink instead of red. Red does clash with my skin." She sighed lightly and shrugged. "Oh the struggles of being fashionable and pale." Annabelle giggled a little more and just shrugged.

Long ago did she actually give up caring if other people thought of her as a spoiled little rich girl. She had some money but it wasn't like she didn't know it had a limit. She just worked to provide for her fashion tastes.

"That'd be fun." Emily agreed. "Technically a knockoff might be pink. You never know. I.... Admit my sense of fashion ends at 'OK I'm in a suit for funsies. I'm good.'"

Emily shrugged, embarressed.

"I'm not... The best person for fashion."

"It's never too late to start, dear," Annabelle chimed, laughing. "I have a few suits, but they're from little events where some friends thought cross dressing would be fun. They're not that great." A total lie. She had amazing suits, but she didn't want to rub that in her face.

"Fashion's really easy to figure out. You can just figure out a celebrity that's close to your age and see what they're wearing. Then you copy and add different accessories to personalize it. Then if you're bold and willing to put in the time and effort..." She shrugged lightly and just motioned to herself. "You'll come up with your own outfits. That's how I learned. That's my process."

Emily looked thoughtful.

"mmmmm. There is Mythbusters but that's my big TV show." She shrugged. "And I admit an aversion to skirts. Not comfortable."

No sense telling the poor girl she only had girl cousins and her aunt. Ah, her family.

"Mythbusters? That's nothing to base your fashion off, dear. Still, if you've an aversion to skirts, there's pants and shorts, and cute little mixtures of things." She waved her hand a little. "But not everyone is into fashion the way I am." Obviously, but Annabelle kept that smile on her face.

Then she looked around where they were. "Oh I know this coffee shop! I came here a lot when I was in high school. I can't believe I forgot about it.."

"Mmmm, fashion no, but it helps when your degree is all techy." Emily laughed. "I mean, you know. Gotta know the limits and when to call someone on a myth."

She grinned, opening the door.

"Eh, memory lapses happen. Don't feel bad about it. I mean, at least you weren't home schooled. That's a plus."

Annabelle laughed a little and shrugged. "Well. I'll be going in. You can get back to your concert. I'm so sorry I pulled you away, Emily! I do hope to bump into you again. Maybe one day we can go shopping and I can get you into something a bit more... updated." She nodded and just turned to head into the shop. Ah, nice and quiet.
