Name: Samuel Dexter Olsen II
Nickname: Dexter. That's it.
Age: 37
Birthday: October 25, 1977
Species: Human, although some student think he's secretly an evil, immortal warlord
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Who's asking?
Marital Status: Divorced
Nationality: American, specifically Creole
Eye color: Grey (small brown sectoral heterochromia in his left eye)

Talents: Chemistry, Forensics, and winning at Pretty Pretty Princess (reigning champion, three years running)
Flaws/Disabilities: Although he looks decently fit and healthy, years of smoking heavily has made it difficult for Dexter to run long distances. Also, he's really bad at properly sorting his priorities, which is probably why he's divorced.

Fears: Dexter doesn't like admitting to being afraid of things, but he's genuinely terrified that he'll never see his daughter again. It's already been a full year since he last saw her.
Personality: Dexter is an introvert by choice. He can be very charming when he wants to be, definitely, but he doesn't much like people his own age or near his age, so he chooses not to interact with them. In class, Dexter remains the foul-mouthed, chain smoking chemist that he is, a lit cigarette in his mouth while he mixes chemicals that are highly flammable. He doesn't really care what people think of him, believing that the only one whose opinion really matters is his daughter.
Bio: The third and last child to high school biology teacher Samuel Olsen and his second wife in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dexter was the apple of his mother's eye from the moment he was born. Despite having a poor attitude, Dexter was popular in high school and very academically successful, having a girlfriend nearly the entire time he was at school. Inspired by his father, who, despite being strict, was a beloved teacher in his school, Dexter majored in education and chemistry in college, earning his masters in each before graduating summa c** laude. It was at his university that he first met the woman he would someday marry, Officer Barbara Williams, a policewoman fresh out of the academy. They met at a frat party that was busted by police, and bonded after several uncharacteristically romantic dates. However, it wasn't until his mother died of a heart attack when he was 24 that he truly fell in love with Barbara, who stayed by his side and comforted him through the difficult loss.
Dexter got his first teaching job within a year of graduation and married when he was 26, his wife already pregnant a month after their marriage. He was only 27 and still immature in many ways, but the moment he first held his baby girl, his precious Caroline, he knew that he could do what needed to be done. He could be a father. And he was, for eight whole years, the best father possible. Barbara was always busy at work, barely having time to cook when she got home, but Dexter always made time for his girl. Caroline was the most important person in his life, although he was always curious about her eyes. Barbara had blue eyes and red hair, himself having grey eyes with sectoral heterochromia and black hair. But Caroline had dark brown eyes and light blonde hair, looking nothing like Dexter whatsoever. However, she did look a little like the current police chief, an accusation that Dexter brought against his wife and demanded answers about. Barbara refused to cooperate, and six months later, Dexter filed for divorce. Barbara then moved to California with the police chief and Caroline. They technically have joint custody, but as he lives so far away, he only gets to see her when he petitions the court to have them force Barbara to allow Caroline to board a plane and stay with her father for a holiday.
Dexter took a break from teaching after the divorce, needing time to get past losing both his wife and his daughter. Deciding to travel, Dexter became a substitute teacher in various counties around the States, only staying for a month before rushing off to a new destination. He only decided to take a permanent position after an old friend called, asking for a personal favor to take over his position until for a year before another teacher could take his place. Dexter, however, likes where he is, and might end up staying just a little longer.
