It was as he wandered along the second alleyway that Liryn picked up on the aura. He had been crossing from one side of the alley to the other when he sensed it, with a warmness that he associated with Order auras. It was not a senshi aura though. In fact if he was to hazard a guess, he would say it was more like that incredibly strong aura that he had come across that day when Vespa had purified - the one belonging to the Knight that Athene had called Camelot. This aura was no where as strong though - was in fact more par with Chaldene's in fact.
It was also the first aura that Liryn had come across on what had been shaping up to be quite a quiet evening, although Liryn was kind of reserving judgement on it - at least for the moment and it felt pretty close to boot. Given that it was the first aura that he had come across this evening it also made it automatically the most interesting thing he had come across this evening and as an added plus it felt close enough that Liryn felt justified in trying to track it down - after all he really didn't know that many Knights and this seemed as good an evening to rectify that.

Luxor was out and about tonight, away from his usual stomping grounds near the Carnival. He needed a bit of air and a break from the usual, so he came into town to do his patrols. He did not mind helping others now, though when he started his focus was only on himself and his carnival. The more he spent powered up, though, the more he realized that his powers were meant for more than that.
He was not paying too much attention to order auras, so even if he could sense Liryn approaching he would not have focused on it. He was more looking for chaos, and keeping his eyes peeled for any youma.
The Squire of Pluto had been through a lot in his short time as a powered being. He was learning, through each day, what it really meant to be a knight, and not just serving himself or just his friends and the people he loved. It was more than that, though they would always be the most important things in his life. He would always put Zia first, then the Carnival, then the rest of the city and finally himself.
It was strange how different that was. Before, when he did not know about this war, he had always been first, and his Carnival just behind.
He was in an alley, looking around for a youma he thought he had seen. The shadow looked like it had come down this way, anyway. He was not able to spot it now, though.

He caught up with the source of the aura that he'd picked up on as he crossed the mouth of the third alleyway, coalescing in a man further down the alleyway who had no pants. In fact even given the fair number of outfits that Liryn had seen to date there wasn't much to the man's outfit, although the skirt made him think Egyptian whist the straps? Belts? He couldn't quite decide on which they were from his glance and so mentally dubbed them belt straps and whichever they were - they kind of made him think Roman.
As he padded towards the man, Liryn sensed another aura, dark and chaotic - although not Nega-officer chaotic and not Dark Mirror chaotic - no the aura was one that he associated with youma but although it was close it wasn't an 'on top of' kind of closeness and so for the moment he focused on the man, noting the headgear some sort of helmet maybe? And that the other seemed to be searching for something.
Liryn padded closer, his purplish eyes curious and his paws cat-quiet on the ground - although the other may have caught the slight 'click-clack' sounds of the beads on his paw bracelet knocking together given that Liryn wasn't exactly trying to be subtle as he closed the distance between them.
Either way it was only when he was at a point that he deemed better for speaking that Liryn called out "Good Evening," before adding soon after "What are you looking for?"

Luxor heard the noise of someone approaching but did not turn around until there was a voice addressing him. And even then, he was not fast to turn to see who or what it was, even though his senses were telling him he probably should. He continued to focus on what he was doing, looking around the area and sighing heavily.
"I'm looking for a monster," he said, then he turned to see who was talking to him, blinking in surprise when he did not immediately see someone, and had to look down to find the guardian cat. His expression never shifted from stoic and drawn, though, as he never really showed his emotions on his face. He generally had a look and feel about him that said he was not ever impressed by anything, ever.
"Hello," he said stiffly.
Luxor had a fondness for guardian cats. Not just because his girlfriend could turn into a cat, which he tried not to think about for the most part as it was not actually a good thing for her. That was an intruder sharing the same body as Zia, and not the same as these mauvians. As far as he could tell, anyway.
"Are you looking for it too?"

"Hi" Liryn said as the man turned round and looked around for a moment or two before eventually down to where he was patiently sitting.
"And no I wasn't" Liryn admitted as the other asked him whether he was looking for the monster in the same stiff and stoic tone that he had said hello. "But that's because I picked up on your aura and you were close enough for me to come look-see." He continued "I've not met that many Knights - I mostly come across senshi."
He tilted his head "But I can sense it - it feels close." Albeit it was still a not 'on top of' kind of closeness.
He added "I can help you find the monster and help you deal with it too." After all Liryn had always preferred doing over sitting around. Even if he had been doing more sitting around lately.
However he wasn't sitting around now - he got to his feet - especially not when there was a youma out there that needed dusting.

Luxor watched the cat and immediately felt a little silly, talking to it. But he understood already that Mauvians were not the same as human cats: that was a lesson he had learned the hard way, and he was not going to make assumptions like that any more. He tried to treat them as he would a person, though that felt a little... odd.
There was no deny how cute and fluffy this little guy was.
Even a stick in the mud like Luxor saw that.
"I haven't met very many cats, either," he said, which was true. Yes, he spent a lot of time with someone who could turn into one, but it did not really seem like the same thing. She was unique, and that was not just his bias talking. Probably.
"I'd appreciate the help," he said blandly, nodding his head to reaffirm what might not have actually sounded all that honest. He did mean it, "I have trouble tracking them down. Not defeating them." Knock on wood, anyway. With the help of the cat, he was sure he would cut his hunting down considerably.

"Well you've met me now" Liryn said, a cheerful note in his voice as he continued "So that makes one more for your total."
He started to pad down the alleyway, not particularly bothered about the fact that his companion for the evening was on the stoic side, adding "And with the two of us working together, I'm sure it won't be long before we find that youma."
Because wherever the thing was lurking, he knew it couldn't be far - the sense of chaos, of darkness that he was picking up on was just too clear for it to be otherwise.
Even so despite keeping his eyes and ears open for trouble, Liryn almost missed the movement of shadow that moved from further down - with almost being the operative word. He turned his head to look at Luxor as he said "I saw something" He was already heading the direction as he spoke. "Over that way."Lithiasaur sorry for the delay Lithia

Luxor nodded his head and followed the cat, oddly not feeling goofy about it. He had learned to take things as they came, in this strange world he now found himself living in. Nothing was black and white any more. Cats could talk, monsters were real, and strange things happened with alarming frequency.
He had to learn to just accept whatever popped up.
Luxor did miss the movement down the alley, though, and paused when the cat said he saw something. Nodding, he moved toward it slowly, wishing he had a more useful item to use than the glove on his hand. Some knights got things that were closer to weapons than most, and he envied them a bit. A glove with some gears on it did not seem like the best tool, and he had never used his magic before.
He spotted the youma and moved for it, but it was faster than he was and it leaped up from its hiding spot, the size of a large cat, and only his chest. It clawed his face before leaping off him like a spring board, clinging to the wall of the nearest building and leering at the duo angrily.

The knight was moving his way, but the youma turned out to be faster springing first at Luxor and then towards the nearby building before either of them could do much about it.
He glanced at the thing as it leered at them from the perch that it had found on a nearby building, his own expression unimpressed as he looked away from it and back towards the knight.
"I'll act as a distraction for you" he said a serious note creeping into the voice that only moments ago had sounded cheerful. He didn't know what the knight planned to do, but Liryn knew that he made for a smaller target and he was pretty sure that he was light enough on his paws to dodge whatever the nasty youma decided to toss his way. Besides he had teeth and claws too and knew how to use both.
And he also had the kitty beam... Although that was kind of a last resort thing as in super, super last resort since he wouldn't be good for much after using it.
He tensed in preparation for the dash, a thought having him glance at the Squire once more in a side-long glance. "By the way are you okay?" After all the youma had had the bad taste to go for the face.

Luxor was annoyed but not too scared, if only because he was very difficult to startle at the best of times. He was annoyed, yes, but he was not scared of anything. At least, he had not found it yet. He was sure that if it involved someone he cared about, if Zia or someone was in real danger, he would begin to know what fear really was.
Right now, he was just irritated.
He did not like being used as a spring board for a youma.
"I'm alright, come here," he said, motioning for the cat to come closer to him so he could protect the little thing. The Youma looked like it was considering Liryn for a snack, and that was not acceptable. It had already gotten itself on Luxor's s**t list for jumping on him.
Eating a guardian cat was not allowed.
The youma leaped from its perch on the wall and raced toward Liryn, though Luxor moved to intercept it. It was much faster than he was and slipped through his legs, leaping at Liryn with its claws forward and letting out a hissing sound.

Liryn nodded on hearing the other say he was okay his attention shifting back to the youma as he said "Don't worry about me, I'll be okay" after all getting closer to the Squire ran kind of counter to playing distraction. "Just focus on doing your thing." Whatever the thing was going to be.
It was as well that his attention was back on the youma because it chose that moment to spring back on the attack, slipping though the Squire's legs as it raced towards him with a hiss.
Liryn wasn't impressed - he knew the hiss trick too - although unfortunately his hiss was perhaps less imposing combined as it was with his smaller body.
Ironically it was being smaller that saved him as he managed to dart out of the way the thing's sharp claws, it was faster than he was expecting though and immediately moved on the attack causing him to have to abandon his plan of trying to get in a return swipe of his own in favour of playing dodge the claw swipes.
Operation play distraction was seeming to be a success though as for the moment the youma's malevolent attention seemed for the moment to be firmly focused on his furry little body.
The question was how long he'd be able to keep playing distraction - or maybe the better question was whether he'd be able to keep it up long enough for the Squire to do his thing.

Luxor watched as the two small animals tried to attack each other, though he was clearly rooting for one over the other. He did not want to see the guardian cat be hurt: it was just not in his nature to see an animal in trouble.
He was a bit of a softy, under his serious and stoic demeanor. He was a very nice guy and he absolutely loved animals, and took care of them as best as he could. If he saw one hurt or in some sort of need, he was they guy that had to take care of it. It was a wonder he did not have a hundred pets.
It was not something he liked to let others see, though, as it often made him look weak or silly. Thus the problem was presented when the animal he wanted to protect was also capable of judging him for being such a softie.
His hesitance was not enough to override his concern, though, and he moved to help. He managed to grab hold of the youma and wrestle it away from Liryn, slamming it and pinning it to the ground before he struggled to hold it with one hand and pull the other one back to punch it as hard as he could. It was not the strongest youma out there, so it did not take much to dust it.
As soon as it was gone, Luxor sighed and looked at Liryn, absentmindedly holding out his hand toward the cat in a show of peace and a gesture of safety.
"Are you okay?"

Fortunately, the question was not one that Liryn had to consider as more than a fleeting by the by. Well at least he wouldn't have if it had been something that he'd actually been thinking on. Instead whilst continuing to play dodge the claw swipes, Liryn found that he suddenly no longer had to as the lunging youma was suddenly wrestled back and away from him.
The youma wasn't happy, at least not if all the hissing and snarling was anything to go by but it was also no match for the Pluto Squire.
The knight's fist came down on the youma and that was all that it took for there to be silence in the alleyway as the hissing and snarling came to an abrupt stop.
It was a silence broken by the Squire's question.
"I'm okay" Liryn inspected his paws for a moment to make sure before padding over to the Squire's outstretched hand and butting his head against it. "It didn't get me" although that was probably down to the Pluto Squire's quick-ish intervention and in spite of his playing youma baiting antics. He added cheerfully "We made a good team" at least he thought so - it remained to be seen whether the dark-haired Squire would agree.
He tilted his head "By the way what's your name?" Because with the youma now dusted, it suddenly occurred to Liryn that names hadn't been exchanged when the hellos had been exchanged earlier - although that was probably on account that there had been no real opportunity for it earlier "I'm Liryn".

Luxor sighed, looking at the cat and actually offering it a smile. It was relief more than anything else, and the guardian cat would never know how lucky he was to see it, considering how rare it was for Luxor to get a smile out in public.
He nodded his head, scratching Liryn's ear a bit.
"We did make a good team. My name is Luxor, Squire of Pluto. It is nice to meet you, Liryn. I don't get to talk to Guardian Cats very often, so it's nice to meet you."
He was glad they had a chance to talk now, at least, because it had been hard to really think of anything when they were being attacked by a youma. Now he could admire the color of Liryn's coat, and decide that it was a very cute cat. Not that he would say it out loud, as he was not sure if Guardian Cats all liked being considered cute and treated like normal cats.
He did not want to be rude.

Liryn returned Luxor's smile with a feline one of his own.
"It's nice to meet you too" he said cheerfully, the words tinged with a purr that was a by-product and his way of showing appreciation at the behind the ear scritching from the Squire. "As I mentioned before, I don't know that many Knights" and he hadn't had that many encounters with them either, not like senshi. "But you're a really nice one. Do you patrol this way often?" he headbutted Luxor's hand gently as he spoke in a silent plead for the other to continue with the ear scritching because the Pluto Squire had been doing it nice and firm just the way he liked and because, well it was a rare day that Liryn turned down scritches.
He added, purplish eyes curious "And Squire of Pluto - does that mean that you've been to Pluto before?" He thought about it and then followed it up with "Do Knights space travel?" Despite the sudden off-tangentness of it all, it was (as far as Liryn was concerned) a valid question, because although he had read through the primer and it had mentioned that Knights were named for places called Wonders, it hadn't said that they could go to them - well at least he didn't remember it mentioning anything of the such.
