Grab a partner and dosey-do! Rather, grab three other people and go crazy! I want groups of four to come together, brainstorm, and quickly write up how this colorful, musical mama got hooked up with this spooky father! Please note he wears a pelt but is NOT a skinwalker. << It's just . . a general pelt.
What's their story?
Are they going to stay together? Are they going to raise their kids? Are they happy? Strangers? Long-lost lovers? Crazy?
You tell me . . . briefly . . . how this family might get along and the one that I like best wins!
This doesn't have to be a novel, and I definitely know sometimes plans change, so you guys don't have to stick with what you write. :3 This has nothing to do with writing quality and all to do with what sounds most fun as a family dynamic. It could be something funny and silly, overly sappy, tragic, romantic. . . whatever you guys want. Just entertain me and maybe your group will walk away with a family!
Then have ONE person in your party fill out this form and post it all in one thread! Who is trying for the Papa? Who is trying for the Mama? Who is trying for the Son? Who is trying for the Daughter? How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? Do they plan on staying together or separating? Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? (i.e. there's hope they'll be closely knit, there will be abandonment issues all around, the father's a psycho, the kids will be crazy, the kids will be lost, etc. etc. Whatever. :3 ) Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Anything else to note?

Who is trying for the Papa? xxxxx techabyte [ Rhyker ] Who is trying for the Mama? xxxxx Insane Butterfly [ Calliope ] Who is trying for the Son? xxxxx Faid Shadowlight [ Quinn ] Who is trying for the Daughter? xxxxx tefla How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? xxxxx One dark and dreary night, a stallion wandered the lands. His coat as black as night with markings of webs lingering on his form. He heard a song; one so lovely it made his heart beat faster. The stallion instantly went in search of the song, only to find it as a mare, standing alone. He was instantly entrapped by her, and swore his soul to her and to do all she wished. The mare, pleased by his willingness, accepted him into her presence. But there was another there who wished to have the mare all to himself. A gray wolf. The stallion and the wolf fought. As the sun began to rise, the two were out of breath and feeling weaker and weaker. Eventually, the wolf fell, and the stallion claimed his prize. Mesmerized by the mare, he did her bidding, following her and loving her even as the evil within her heart consumed the two of them. xxxxx How they came upon children was... fascinating. Calliope wished to have more people around her to manipulate and control, and so willing to do anything to please her, Rhyker went out in search of a way to bring her what she desired. He happened upon an alter of sorts. Curious, he nosed at the offerings and left one of his own; the head to the pelt on his back. On his way back to his beloved, he found two small baskets, which shockingly reminded him of both her and himself. He swiped them before a family could claim them, and brought them back to his beloved, only to be praised and loved upon before Calliope went into loving on her new-found children. xxxxx For what purpose does she want those children for? What reasons? Only time could tell. Do they plan on staying together or separating? xxxxx Possessive and in such a good state as she is, Calliope has no inclination to be rid of her little puppet. And so smitten, Rhyker wishes nothing more than to stay with his love. [ Yes, they will be remaining together! ] Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? xxxxx Calliope is a killer by nature. She looks sweet and kind, but is dark and manipulative. She lures people in with her voice and enjoys watching as her mate destroys them bit by bit. It's a dark life they live, but they love it and it makes them happy. Who are we to judge! xxxxx The plan is to have the children join in with the family dynamic. They could be like Calliope, and find ways to lure more victims into her trap, or like Rhyker, and wait and watch until the perfect moment to strike. Evil is as evil does! Between you and me though, they may not be all there in the heads. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? xxxxx Rhyker will gradually begin to train his children the way of fighting. How to survive and how to learn the area. He will also show them how much they should respect and love their mother; as he is under a sort of spell by her. xxxxx If the children choose to be more Calliope, she will teach them how to manipulate and control the world around them. How to bend words into poems and sneak in ways to get anything they want. They may not turn out as evil as she, they may not even wish to be like that at all! But they will be raised in such a way. xxxxx The little boy is going to have a way about him. Unlike his parents and sister, he cannot stand to see people hurt! He often times will get people to leave the area, warning them of what could happen. Past this, several plot points could happen, making there be much family drama! xxxxx The little girl is going to end up sharp tongued. She'll be able to outwit most and trick them into doing what she wants. Anything else to note? xxxxx * She is not literally putting people under spells. It is merely that her voice is so amazing that many would wish to investigate. There are plot points where this could go drastically wrong and someone within the family group get hurt. xxxxx * Rhyker got his leg chain/cuff from the mother, her putting it on him as a sort of "claiming" of his soul.

Who is trying for the Papa? Niyaru Delacroix {Erynion} Who is trying for the Mama? Thalea {Idalia} Who is trying for the Son? Nyx Queen of Darkness {Thierry} Who is trying for the Daughter? Angelique DelaMort {Arachnia} How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? The fateful day that Idalia and Erynion met for the first time would forever change Idalia’s life as she knew it. She was a part of a herd that was very traditional, they did not like to have outside influences, for it would bring in change, and the Elders feared change. Idalia was walking in the forest around her herd lands when she stumbled upon a cave and a stallion cloaked in wolf fur who was chained to a column (a stalactite and stalagmite were joined together). The stallion wove a wild tale, saying he was prisoner to a demented soquili who had kidnapped him and made him dress up as a wolf and pretend to be the soquili’s pet dog/wolf. It was quite the story and the mare was having trouble believing him, plus her “Stranger danger” alarms were going off. But she had a kind heart and could not leave the stallion chained up to the column, so she freed him by breaking the chain (took a lot of work, but she was finally able to do it). With the stallion free she was able to return home, but she could not stop thinking about him or the strange soquili with the pet fetish. She began to talk about her experience to those in the herd, before long she was summoned to the Elders. Idalia had just received her third warning, and this transgression of the rules demanded banishment. The Elders striped her of her family name and the talisman of the herd, and sent her away. She was free and also at a loss. What was she to do? She only knew of one soquili outside of the herd and that was the one who got her banished. Time went by and Idalia became lost in heart and in location. She had no idea how to survive outside of the herd. Just when she reached her darkest hour, he appeared out the shadows, bringing with him a light that filled her heart and soul. Do they plan on staying together or separating? They plan on staying together. He is the darkness to her light, there cannot be one without the other. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? Trust issues with a capital T. They both have things in their pasts that cause them problems, Idalia has trouble trusting people outside of her little family and the father had spent months as a pet for an insane soquili. These issues will show slightly in certain conversations or actions, but it does not affect how the two soquili feel about each other. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Idalia’s herd Elders have learned of the existence of the two baskets and how one is pink with music notes upon it, signifying strong blood from the mother. They steal the basket, to raise the child as a foal of the herd, not caring for the wild blood that runs in his veins, for they believe that they will be able to control the foal. Mind games will be played and the foal will believe that his parents are dead.
Thierry knew that his parents had died. Knew that his herd had his best interest at heart. Knew. Knew. Knew. Upon overhearing someone in the herd, everything Thierry knows is put to question. His mother had been banished from the herd. What if everything he'd ben told was a lie? What if all the things he knew weren't true?
The family of three go searching for the stolen basket, but do not find it until the basket has already popped and the colt has been living with the herd for a few months. What affect does this have on the foal? On his sibling? On the family as a whole?
Because of the kidnapping of her brother, the filly has become on guard, paranoid that things are coming after her. Due to this feeling she desires to learn how to fight and be able to protect herself, who will be her mentor? Who will get past her barriers and help her to become the warrior that lurks within her heart?
Dreams do not often signify reality. Does the reuniting of the family go according to plan or do more obstacles come in?
Music was an important part of Idalia’s life and even though her herd took away her name, they did not take away her desire to sing. She wants to share this love with her children and gives them music lessons. How do these lessons go? Do her children have her skill or do they sound more like a squawking crow?
Due to his interesting history as a “Pet” Erynion wants to insure that his children know the importance of “Stranger Danger”. How do the foals react to these lessons? Do they become more paranoid or do they think it is all a joke?
Anything else to note?Arachnia personality blurb: she's more of the analytical, withdrawn type - she tends to think a bit before she acts...unless she's pissed off then it's whatever goes. Erynion: He is protective, loyal, as if he has a soft side but only few know it..he only lets so few close to him. He will treat Idalia like a queen and spoil/pamper and make sure his lover and children are happy, safe, loved and protected no matter what. He doesn't really like violence but will resort to it and blood shed if its needed to protect those he cares for and treasures the most. When he's not around the loved ones he acts all big, bad, and scary (to a degree staying in the shadows, watching and lurking). With his family he is loving, playful and loves the sun. The stallion only continues to wear the pelt because Idalia told him it made him look handsome. Idalia: Banished from her herd, she was excited to be free, but also at a loss. Having no idea how to take care of her self as an individual, it became a dark time for herself. She did not have the skills to be alone. So soon her freedom turned into a cage and she was not sure how to escape. That is where the stallion came in. He was her light in the dark. Even though he appears to be dark and unapproachable, Idalia saw something in him that made her heart sing and her to feel alive again. Thierry: is pliable, easy to manage for the most part except for a small rebellious streak. But as he learns the truth of his parents, he starts to question everything. Why has he always just said yes and done what he was told? Why should he anymore? Thierry will start to grow into these feelings, try to find out who he really is (not just who they wanted him to be).

Who is trying for the Papa? Tara de Draiocht (Somnus; Temper: Grumpy) Who is trying for the Mama? Lunadriel (Audubon; Temper: Melodious) Who is trying for the Son? musicaloner7 Who is trying for the Daughter? Pink Pandah Bear How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids?
Ours is a family that is cursed.
Audubon (the mare) has a curse where she can only mimic the sounds of birds and any animal in the forest. She is unable to speak words. She is able to piece together different chirps, trills, and tweets from a plethora of birds, to create new unimaginably beautiful songs. So she studies birds in depth, and the critters of the forest too.
Somnus (the stallion) is a bit of a jerk and has an almost grumpy bear personality. His sleeping curse causes him to go into deep uninterrupted slumber. A quirk of his is finding dead animals when awake, and bringing them back to his den to sleep with. One could compare this behavior to a child with their teddy bear, or a security blanket. An explanation for the ball and chain is that Somnus uses this tool for strength training, since his muscles get weak from sleeping so much.
One day, Audubon stumbles upon Somnus, covered in webs, and believed to be dead by others who attempted to wake him. She leans over, and begins flipping around the head of the dead wolf he was sleeping with. Almost as if she was trying to puppeteer the wolf. All while making wolf noises to go along with it! This of all things, breaks the stallions curse for a moment. He wakes, then grumbles at her like a fat, groggy bear. In response, she smiles at him and puffs up like a bird, proud of a job well done.
The symbiotic relationship between the two only evolves further, as the bird takes delight in her ability to wake the bear! Audubon will annoy him at first, but then it will grow into so much more. The fact that he's different, like herself, makes him interesting to her. Somnus will learn to appreciate her, since nobody else has the ability to bug wake him like she does. Only she can make him more aware of the world around him. The two are weird by most standards, and find a kindred spirit in their differences. After falling in love, the two decided to start a family of their own.
Do they plan on staying together or separating?
Sticking together. The parents will be inseparable. The batty song bird and her slumbering beast. <3 The kids will be free to do as they wish, but with the dynamics of this family, it will make it hard to stay apart! They will enjoy their time together in a very unique way.
Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic?
Each family member will have a way of being a helping hoof to each others curse. Dads curse of sleep is broke by moms mimic of the noises animals make. Moms curse of not being able to speak, and only being able to mimic sounds of animals, is translated into words by the stoic son. The sons inability to display facial expressions, is a job his mother and daughter eagerly portray for him. Then the daughters bad luck, is something everyone tries to help out with. Even if for dad that means trapping her in his hooves for a nap. This odd family of four, functions in a way no other family does! They can get along fine without each other, but their personality's come alive in a whole new way when they are together.
Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Indeed!
███❧ A Face Cannot Lie: The sons curse. What it is, and how they handle it. A curse that prevents any facial expressions. Taking care of a young soq that can't convey pain, anger, hurt, or even happiness, turns out to be more difficult than a parent might imagine. ███❧ Bruises, Bumps, and Scrapes, Oh My!: The daughters curse. What is is, and how they handle it. A curse of extreme bad luck can be dangerous. The parents and the son, will have to learn to watch out for her, and help her to avoid disasters. It would explain all those close calls with her basket having bad things happen to it too.. ███❧ Cluck, cluck, roar: The sons ability to translate for his mother is quite handy. They both stumble upon an outsider, and have a theatrical interaction. Where Audubon is making her animal-bird noises and occasionally putting her face next to her son to make a face for him. And the son is translating for her, while trying to introduce himself at the same time. How will the stranger react to them? Oh boy! ███❧ Bird and Bell: Audubon uses her love of song to try and teach her daughter to harmonize and sing. Emphasizing the notes with her bird songs, and stomping a beat out with her hoof. Will her daughter be able to learn though, with a wordless teacher? ███❧ Origins: Where did the family's curse come from, and how did the two different curses in the parents, become new curses in their children? In the end, they may never know, but will embrace their differences. Their cursed bloodlines will become a sort of right of passage, and part of their legacy.
Anything else to note?
The family's last name will be called Bölvun which is Icelandic for curse. We were all so excited bouncing ideas around, and fell in love with the family. Thank you for the opportunity Uta!

Who is trying for the Papa? Tirokio (Ragno; toxic) Who is trying for the Mama? hanging gallow (Melodia; harmonic) Who is trying for the Son? Marzipanz (Dolente; Deviant) Who is trying for the Daughter? Summer Raven (Faustina; corrupt) How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? ---- Playing the role of work horse for one of the smaller native villages, Ragno attempted to keep his peace. It was a home, and he had always been protected by the humans. However comforting, there was a deep darkness within him even as a young foal. He craved the smell, the taste of blood, but never attempted to take a life. Until that is, the temptation of riding him was too much to handle for a young native of the village. The young boy had hopped on the kalona's back, and something within Ragno snapped. He bucked off the poor boy, crushing his arm as he fell with very little effort. It was easy - the death was painful, and rather slow, but it awoke the darkness in Rago and he fed off the feeling until it corrupted him. ---- He hadn't meant to kill the small human boy on purpose. It was an accident - or rather, an accident forged out of twisted thoughts brewing for years. However good it felt, the stallion quickly realized that it would mean banishment, or worse, for having killed one of the native's children. Any attempt of making it look like the deed of another creature had failed, and the natives soon discovered the dark heart that lay beneath his coat. In anger and desperation, the humans chained Ragno to the nearby mother-tree, as a feast and an offering for the skinwalkers. If perhaps they gave them him, all evil lingering in this land would disappear.
---- Meanwhile, not that far off, it was Melodia's turn to forage in the woods for food for the group, and it had always been ideal that they tackle places near human camps. The fruits and vegetables that they found was always plentiful, left to rot by careless two-leggers. Upon entering the village, Melodia came across a stallion tied to a tree, in what looked like some sort of offering. There was no one else in sight, and the stallion seemed rather disturbed by the fact that his freedom was naught. She stared at him, seeing nothing but an opportunity to gain the upper-hand. He was built strong and tough, and Melodia guessed that any children he sired would have the same traits. The herd was made up solely of mares, and while this arrangement had always worked, she felt it time to gain some ground: new voices, stronger allies. Yes - they would be perfect for the herd. ---- So approaching him, she offered him a way out of his predicament. She'd assist in freeing him, letting him go from whatever harm was to come his way if he agreed to father her children. There need naught be more to it - just one time - one night. They needn't have to see each other ever again. It was the prefect plan, she thought. The payment was, albeit reluctant, agreed upon, and she began her valiant attempt at freeing the nameless stranger. When the deed was done and the debt was paid, the two of them went their separate ways - neither of them having a second thought about the other. He escaped to live another day, and she traveled back to her herd, a growing belly in tow. Do they plan on staying together or separating? Separating, for now. You never know what could happen in the future. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? ----- As per their agreement, Ragno is not in his children's lives, as they are growing up within their mother's traveling herd. However, he knows their whereabouts more often than not and keeps a close (albeit secretive) watch on their behavior. It was never agreed upon that she was to keep them forever, and so Ragno watches them from afar to see if they are a match for the likes of him.
----- Melodia will raise them with the sole purpose of having them become a part of her traveling herd, as singing apprentices. She will raise them with love, riddled with rough determination and strict guidance. They are to be future singers of the herd - nothing else.
----- When neither Faustina nor Dolente can perform to their mother's liking (i.e., the kids do not have any want or desire to participate in their mother's songs), Melodia will be disinterested in her kid's activities, as they have failed her expectations. In other words, she will be 'done' with them. She will still be their mother, but they will be free to do whatever it is that pleases them. They will not fulfill their duties as active members of the herd so they are allowed to come and go as they please - which is a concept that Dolente latches onto immediately and leaves his mother's side on a fairly regular basis.
----- Melodia will be conflicted over the fact that one of her children is so blatantly dark and evil (Dolente), and as Faustina hides her behavior from her mother, Melodia believes it is only her son. She will harbor a growing fear of what he could do to her or anyone else in the herd, which will cause a stir within family bonds. She will still love him and want to protect him, but who will protect everyone else, should he snap?
----- Faustina & Dolente will have a great sibling relationship, as he is the only one who knows his sister's true heart. She is just as equally corrupt as her brother, but due to not wanting to disappoint her mother any further or be banished from the herd, she chooses (unlike her brother) to hide the darkness. She confides in Dolente and the two of them establish a protective bond, both of them doing anything for the other.
----- Melodia will attempt to lure her children into her world with the use of storytelling through song. They will be told stories of their mother's past, and of their faceless father's past through verses of song, and however reluctant the kids are to admit this, it is truly the most beautiful time in this entire relationship. They may try to deny it - but their mother's voice is beautiful, and her love of song knows no bounds.
Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? ----- Dolente and Faustina are not up to par with their mother's musical abilities, as previously stated. She gave birth to them, in hopes of adding to her traveling melodic singers, and yet, neither of her kids can perform up to her standards. Because of this, the siblings seek refuge among themselves and bond over the fact that they don't quite 'fit in'. There are more obvious reasons why they do not fit in with their mother's herd, but it is still a home to them and so they will do what they can to stay attached.
----- This will, in turn, trigger a memory that Faustina has about the lullaby their mother used to sing to them when they were foals - a lullaby about the stallion she once saved. She used this lullaby to inspire them, although it never worked. However, in due time, the siblings will realize this lullaby is a story, and that the stallion, the sire, is out there somewhere. They will go on an adventure to find him with any means necessary. Hopefully, they think, this will help explain who they are and why they have thoughts that no one else they know have. Or where they truly come from.
----- Ragno has been watching the kids for a majority of their young life, so he is prepared when they come find him - he makes himself known to them after a bit of play first. He does this to test them; how well do they do on their own with obstacles thrown at them. Any interaction that he may have with his children is up to character development as the plot thickens, but like Melodia, he will view them as toys and/or puppets in his grand scheme. What that is exactly, is still up in the air.
Future Dolente Potential Plots ----- He will have an overwhelming urge as a foal to slaughter any and all woodland creatures that cross his path and, in a blissfully relieved and satisfied state, he will return home all bloody. Dolente knows no better, no one has killed in the herd before, so he'll think he did good, and since the taste and the euphoria he felt while feasting was overwhelming, he'll be proud. His mother, on the other hand, will be horrified and attempt to scold her son. ----- After he has established his love for being a sadist he attempts to share his joys with his sister. As a sort of heart to heart, he attempts to get her to join him on a hunt, where he will discover her heart's true desire. This will be the spark that starts their bond, and although he would never out her to their mother, he will continuously attempt to bring her out of her shell. ----- He will leave his mother's herd from time to time, usually with the intent of hunting and killing smaller creatures. As he gets older he'll leave for extended periods, and seek out guidance from others that he meets along his travels. Dolente will learn how to harness his demons for greater control over his enemies.
Future Faustina / Ragno Plots ----- Upon discovering her father's past, Faustina will immediately become enthralled with who he is. She's had evil, corrupt thoughts her entire life, but due to the fact that her mother's herd are not of that nature, she hides it. She's wanted to kill her entire life, but doesn't want to be the odd one out (again). When Ragno makes himself known, Faustina will latch onto him for dear life - finally, someone she can relate to - finally an explanation for her demons. ----- Ragno and Faustina will create a sort of corrupt bond, he making her into a black widow of sorts. She's his willing pawn. The taste of first blood has been a throbbing desire for her for much of her life and now it's finally coming true. Faustina will use her talent in singing to lure unsuspecting humans into a trap, with father and daughter working together.
----- Melodia on the other hand, will go on her way, searching for a new beginning with possibly new children. She is to remain with her herd, continuing to bring music to those who wish to listen. Her goal with her first batch was an unsuccessful attempt and so she will be searching for another. Perhaps her story will be written with a happy ending?
~~~~~~~ ----- Whatever else is meant to happen is left unwritten. These characters will eventually begin to weave their own tale of story and song; and of demons and angels.
Anything else to note? ----*It should be noted that when tied up as an offering to the skinwalkers, an (animal) tried to attack Ragno and he retaliated, killing that creature as well. He wears the pelt of his victim as a reminder of what took place that night, and as proof that he can be stronger than those who try to cross him.*
**It should also be noted that no matter what may happen in the future with any of these Soquili, Melodia will never hate her children for they are, after all, her flesh and blood. She may be disappointed in their lack of interest in their talent, and she may be frightened by the demons living within their soul, but she will always care for them. They will, in other words, always have a home.**
***It should be noted, lastly, that what happens to the relationship between Ragno and Melodia is undetermined. In other words, we as a group and as a potential family have not yet discovered what will happen in the future - we will let the characters decide their fate***
A bit of background as to how/why Ragno was in the village in the first place: ----- Ragno was born to a Kalona dame and a regular sire. Being in a pure Kalona herd, with the cruelest of intentions, Ragno's mother had to hide the fact that she was accidentally impregnated by a regular - an inferior creature. There was no fooling anyone into thinking her foals would be born pure, so when it came time to give birth, she hid. Placing them both into their baskets, it dawned on her that only one of her beloved foals would even remotely pass for a Kalona - but it wasn't enough to not be caught. Weighing the options for her survival, she killed Ragno's younger sibling, it being the weaker of the two; the mass of blood would give the impression they both died and she would be off the hook. She'd left Ragno near a village, close enough that someone would find him, and never returned for him as it would be a secret she'd die with to keep her place in the herd. As the Kalona invasion spread across the Kawani lands, the mare unfortunately died, leaving Ragno forever alone in the world.
A bit of background on Melodia's past before stumbling across Ragno: ----- Losing her parents at a very young age to a disaster, Melodia was adopted by a traveling bard. This bard took her in and taught her the art of music and song. She grew up appreciating how much joy it brought her, and how at peace she was when she was singing. She traveled the lands, in search of anyone who would stop and hear her song. Eventually, Melodia came across enough soquili to start a brand new traveling herd together as one; bringing happiness in the form of song, to all those willing to listen. This was and forever will be Melodia's true family, and anything that comes between her and her passion will be immediately dismissed.
Who is trying for the Papa? Kaitaia Who is trying for the Mama? Freodwyn Who is trying for the Son? `Swirly Who is trying for the Daughter? Master Wild Mage How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids?
She was the lead stallion's daughter, and a respected member of the guard. He was a prisoner of war from a rival herd. Their respective families had been warring for as long as anyone could remember, and capturing a stallion in his prime, who had been the reason why the musical herd was thin in its ranks of late, was the crowning achievement in the most recent battle. Naturally, such an important prisoner could only be guarded by the highest ranking of the royal guards...
But something happened then that did not go according to plan. The guard fell for her prisoner. The prisoner was no fool, and was quite flattered by the attention. It was the perfect means to an end. Getting captured would mean disgrace within his clan; they would take his pelt for certain if he didn't return with some token of heroism. So he convinced her to run away with him and return to his people, where she believed she would be treated as a princess and a uniter of the clans.
He, of course, planned to treat her exactly as her clan had treated him: as a prisoner of war, and a slave to be mocked. Oh, the revenge he had in mind...it was cruel, even though he thought it just.
But, once again, something happened that did not go according to plan: two baskets, clearly belonging to the two "lovers".
How is he to save face now? And, more importantly, how will the princess react when she learns she was manipulated?
Do they plan on staying together or separating?
That's a very good question. If she finds out that she was manipulated, there will war with a capital W forthcoming. But our master manipulator isn't going to let her figure that out quickly, not now that he has baskets to protect.
Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic?
Awkward in the extreme! He's guilty, she's smitten, there's a powderkeg underneath their romance waiting to explode in the right situation.
Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive?
She's going to find out eventually that his feelings were not the same as hers. And when she finds out, those poor kids are going to be caught in the middle. They'd be considered half-breeds no matter which herd they joined, so it's going to take the strength of at least one of the parents to make sure they're not hurt.
Anything else to note?
The plot potential is like a choose your own adventure novel; we don't know which route we're going to pick long-term, but it's interesting drama for everyone no matter what!
Who is trying for the Papa? Cheyriddle4 (Lykos, Bitter) Who is trying for the Mama? Revel1984 (Minutette, Steady) Who is trying for the Son? Nikkichomp (Orpheus, Spoiled) Who is trying for the Daughter? spelldancer (Brekszta, Theorizer) How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? After Lykos killed a wolf that was trying to kill him he was captured. The wolf had been a beloved companion of a twolegger family and as punishment the family captured Lykos with the help of Minutette, and then imprisoned him. As the family tormented Lykos in revenge for the perceived harm, Minutette began to feel guilty and bad for Lykos. After all he had only been defending himself. Minutette broke the chain holding Lykos and helped him flee. He needed the help because as ha had tried to escape before Lykos had caused a hairline fracture in his leg and tore a tendon. These would heal but leave him with a permanent limp that would bother him from time to time throughout his life. As they escape, Lykos grabs the pelt of the wolf he killed. The children were created after some pent up needs were dealt with as they were traveling. Once Lykos knew about the children he did not leave Minutette because he believed in family sticking together.
Do they plan on staying together or separating? They plan to stick together Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? About the father (Lykos)-(Bitter) Bitter towards the two leggers after the incident. Family oriented. After hearing about the children he stuck around as he wasn’t going to leave any family of his. Listens to the mother as fears that she will take off with the kids/take them away. Eventually will grow to actually like possibly love her. Often plays up/ exaggerates about his leg to gain sympathy from the mother as well as lessen any arguments. Spends more time with the kids to teach them to track and read the stars for navigation. About the Mother- (Minutette)-(Steady) Steady and able to hold her own Will often start dancing about to embarrass the children *possible* Won’t let the father get away with anything she views as wrong. About the sister (Brekszta)-(Theorizer) Strange Believes in stories she makes up and will refuse to believe otherwise Believes that it was fate that brought her parents together About the son – (Orpheus)-(Spoiled) A troublemaker Gets into scrapes and mischief and blames others for his misdeeds Not malicious, just irresponsible and selfish Family Dynamics- Power shifting to the mother Kids act out Parents love their kids but mother is jealous that the kids take up the father’s time. The jealousy becomes part of the daughter’s story, which only enforces her idea. Close knit
Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? When mother and father tell their children on how they met, the daughter refuses to believe it. She only believing in her story. Arguments start. What happens next? Dealing with jealousy- Something with the family dealing with the mother’s jealousy. The changes that happen. Possible development of feelings between the mother and father. The son learning to grow up take responsibility for his actions. The daughter having her views of the world challenged by Soquili other than her family and how she deals with that. Father teaching the children to track animal prints and navigate by the stars.
Whatever other plots happen.
Anything else to note?
Who is trying for the Papa? lysia_nyteblade ((Pirata Piraticus)) Who is trying for the Mama? Strawberri Stardust ((Arietta)) Who is trying for the Son? Koiasi ((Sicarii Piraticus)) Who is trying for the Daughter? Rein_Carnation ((Spindra Piraticus)) How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? Arietta and Pirata were best friends as foals, but even that took some work on Arietta's part. Pirata had been rejected as a youngster, ostracized for the one thing that gave him comfort: his pelt. It had been a gift from his grandfather, just days before the old stallion died. After he took to wearing the pelt on a constant basis, the rest of his family and the group they lived with pushed him away until he took to living on the edges of the territory they'd claimed.
Pirata lived like that for a month before a new foal from a more recent batch of baskets scrounged up enough courage to come see if all the adults were right about the outcast who lived on the edge. She, of course, was Arietta, a curious and sweet young filly. She peeked around a tree, but the peachy color of her body gave her away. Pirata told her to go away. For weeks, months, this went on, with Arietta coming closer and closer each day. Until one day she finally spoke to him. Her courage, and willingness to actually get to know him soon melted Pirata's heart enough for him to let her in.
For the longest time, he couldn't tell why he had let her get under his skin, or why he let her in at all. Maybe it was because all the other foals only saw him with fear, or hatred, and she came to him with no ulterior motive. No one had dared her to come to him; she had done it on her own, with her own logic. She told him once: "Everyone deserves a friend, Pira, even someone as grumpy as you!" Which was accompanied by her laugh (he swore there was something musical about it) and a funny face that earned her a small chuckle from the dark foal.
Since then, the two were practically inseparable. Until one day, Arietta was chosen to carry a message to a neighboring tribe. She promised him it would only take her a day, two at the most, and she would be back. She promised. A week went by. Two. A month, and no sign of Arietta. Worried, Pirata had even taken to lurking about the main camp when everyone else was asleep, his nature and past experiences making him wonder if maybe she had given up on him. Just like everyone else. After two months with no word from her, he gave up, just knowing in his heart even as it shattered that she was just like everyone else.
Arietta, however, had gotten lost. Seriously lost. She'd made it to the other tribe fine, and had delivered her message. It was coming back that had given her trouble. She tried to find her way back for a week, wondering if her tribe had moved without her, but that was silly. At the very least, she knew that Pirata would wait for her. He was her best friend and...well, maybe he was more than that. But she just couldn't find her way back, and then it rained. That made it even harder for her to see her way and one misstep, just one is all it took. She was sent sliding down a hill, getting muddy and tangled up and hurt. She was lucky, very lucky, that she hadn't broken anything on the fall.
By the time she'd finally made it back to her tribe, it had been six months. Six long months without her friend and confidante. Six long months alone. By the time she got back...the Pirata she knew was gone. Literally. He had left the tribe. The others hadn't been paying attention, but they said that one night he was just gone. Arietta was devastated by this news. Gone...he was just gone... She had just known he would wait for her... Her heart breaking, Arietta couldn't stand another minute in the tribe that had driven her best friend out. She had to find him.
Flash forward to years later, they finally find each other again. She explained everything to him, and waited for his response. At first he was skeptical, but she was so....well, Arietta. He couldn't help but believe her. Besides, he had missed her. So he let her in again, trying hard to see what she saw in him, and not the monster he'd become. during their time apart, Pirata had had a few run ins with a skinwalker that had forced him to be harder than he used to be, and had to fight harder. But still, Arietta had been the one light at the end of his tunnel when they were foals. Perhaps she still could be.
After some time together, catching up and getting to know one another again, emotions flared higher than they had when they were foals. That night, though neither of them knew it at the time, they created life. However, Pirata had done some thinking while his friend slept curled up next to him. She was so beautiful, and not even just physically, though he would not deny she was extremely lovely to look at. Her soul was beautiful, and perfect, and how dare something as monstrous as he mar her with his ugliness? They weren't meant to be together, they couldn't be. She was so much better than he was, worth so much more.
When she woke, he hid how his heart broke and showed her only his ugliness, his monstrosity. He pushed her away, growled and snarled at her until he could almost see her heart breaking. It was better this way. She would be better off without him. Do they plan on staying together or separating? They will eventually be staying together. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? Once she finds out she's pregnant, she's going to send word to him and he'll come back to try and make the whole family thing work because he doesn't want his foals to feel the way he did. Even so, both of them are going to have some doubts about each other, both careful around each other.
Their son, Sicarii, will be difficult to get along with and disgruntled. He'll have an attitude similar to his father's when he was a foal though no one is quite sure why. Arietta will be doing her best to figure it out to try and help him as she helped his father.
Like her mother, Spindra has a more nurturing soul and will also be helping her brother relax. She's hopeful about love and life because she can see the love her parents have for each other despite the mistakes they've both made in the past. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? YEP. At least one. 1. Sicarii ends up running away, maybe getting in trouble with some of the bad news Soquili his father had gotten in with when he was younger. This leads to panic from his mother. Because of this, it causes a temporary rift between Arietta and Pirata, with her doubting their ability to make the family thing work, and him shutting her out again. Eventually, Sicarii makes it back to them, only he's been injured. Arietta fusses over him while Pirata yells at him, though neither of them are talking to each other. Except for the one time Arietta snaps at Pirata to tell him to leave off yelling at Sicarii. Once he's patched up as best as they can manage, Spindra is left with him and she talks a little more sense in him. This is when Sicarii sees that despite their differences and despite all their problems and issues, their family is good together, and can be even better once they're all on the same page.
2. While Arietta and Pirata are still not talking to each other and after Sicarii is mostly healed, the foals see how much pain this rift causes their parents and devise a plan to get them back together, this time for good. Anything else to note? We were thinking that perhaps Pirata's got some kalona in his blood, his father's father. It was his mother's father that gave him the pelt as a foal.
We had so much fun putting all this together x3 thanks for the opportunity!!
Who is trying for the Papa? AislingJuno (Raz) Raz; views the world in the manner of beasts-Only the strong survive and the weak perish. Raz is evil in nature
Unique traits and important notes: : -Suffers under the delusion that he’s descended from walkers. -Raz became separated from his herd at a very young age and has no memories of his birth herd. - Alone in the word Raz found the wolf skin on his travels and saw it as a gift from the heavens that he was descended from a powerful line of walkers. He enacts evil deeds to honor he ancestors.
Who is trying for the Mama? dawns_aura (Cavatina Arianthe ) Cavatina Arianthe ; Amoral, neither 'good' nor 'evil' Loosely based off sirens, she has a beautiful voice she uses to entrance and enthrall those who might be useful to her. But even more than her voice is the silence when she no longer has use for others.
Unique traits and important notes: - She is near-sighted, and colourblind - She is extremely petite / dainty but very strong - She has a terrible temper, and is possessive of things she calls hers... be they beings, objects or places.
Who is trying for the Son? Abysmal_Night (names and tempers to be decided at foal stage) Who is trying for the Daughter? LydaLynn (names and tempers to be decided at foal stage)
How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? Often on the move, Raz brings destruction to the herd lands. Through trickery and blood he tries to emulate skinwalkers evil ways. Local Soq fear him and hire a famous mercenary herd lead by a blood sage to capture him. Raz is thoroughly defeated by the heard unable to defeat the pure power of the well trained herd of mercenaries. However before the mercenary herd is able to bring him to their employers for justice Raz is able to break free by breaking the wooden support that his chains were attached to. Feeling especially vindictive he captures what he believes is one of the weaker members of the Mercenary herd a small dainty mare as part of his retribution.
However the Mare is much more then what he bargained for..
When the stallion came after her Cavatina turned to her voice to save herself and turn the male into one of her many pawns. Cavatina Arianthe‘s voice always worked except for her herd leader who was cloaked in her own blood power. Her voice was enthralling to those she wanted and worked without question never failing. However the male seemed to be not effected by her voice as he spirited her away. Cavatina was flabbergasted -how could it not work? – she was curious, - why didn't it work? Was there something special about him? – Her lack of power over him left her embarrassed and intrigued.
The herd she was born to had super strict traditions and beliefs- to be a part of the herd, one had to fit their ideas of perfection, and then go through and survive rite of passage once they reached a certain age. With her near-sightedness and mild color blindness, she was flawed, but on its own, it wouldn't have been enough to kick her out of the herd, but being physically weaker she was unable to pass the trial and was exiled. Alone and afraid she roomed the soq lands until she was discovered by the mercenary herd. Under the herds guidance she discovered her true power- the power of a voice that could control others. However she was only a warrior in the herd and the herds leaders own power prevented Cavatina from gaining control over the herd.
Cavatina Arianthe had been part of the warriors who brought down the savage stallion with the wolf cape. At the time she hadn’t cared for the reasons why the male was to be captured. She was being paid for the job at hand and one job was like another. When the job was done it was easily forgotten - This time was another story. She was at the male’s mercy and her herd had not come after her. They had betrayed her, when she escaped from the male she would return to the mercenary herd and repay their treachery ten-fold.
However as days turned into weeks in his company Cavatina learned she could use her voice to subtly influence the male. He was so physically strong and his metal state was unlike many soqs that her power could only weakly be used on him. Raz discovered that the pink little song bird he had collected really had talons and a cunning mind that he found utterly delightful.
Do they plan on staying together or separating? This is not a relationship built on dreams but possessiveness. Cavatina seeks to gain power over Raz. While Raz seeks control over Cavatina. They stay together to one day get the upper hand over the other in a twisted sort of romance. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? The Offspring would be treated as both treasured possessions and minions by both their parents / a means to an end by their mother depending on the day, the situation, her mood . Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Yes -Cavatina and Raz will try to create their own form of a mercenary herd. The would gain glory and wealth throughout the soq lands. Together they would take on the dangerous, bloody, interesting jobs, and train their offspring to be a part of that world / life but focus on teaching them about loyalty and the price of betrayal...
-The boy will inherit his mother’s siren voice; He will be sent out into the herd lands to collect minions for his mother. Possibly as recruitment for fighters for his mothers bastardized/twisted version of a mercenary group.
-The girl will vastly different then her parents in temper . She will enjoy being able to sing but not show any traits of having her mother powers at least at a young age. As she develops she might gain a weaker version of her mother power but that will be decided by LydaLynn later on after she rps the character a bit. Instead she gains from her father fierce speed and brute power. She's often doesn't lose her temper as she is the more mellow headed family member but when she feels Insulted, threatened or her family is threatened she loses herself to a rage that turns her into the monster others fear. She attacks anything that moves, unaware of what she's doing. She doesn't stop until the movement stops and she has a chance to collect herself. Her family is often able to stop her by music or song which has a soothing effect and calms her inner beast. As an adult she will set out and try to track down her father old herd to help “free,” Raz from his delusions.
-Thank you for the chance we had fun bouncing ideas off one another.
Who is trying for the Papa? Mameha Otome Who is trying for the Mama? Lady Argentum Draconis Who is trying for the Son? Nasaiki Who is trying for the Daughter? ~Lady Kanna~ How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? She never expected to end up with him, but he turned up one morning in the grove she called home. He was dark and forboding and she was terrified at first that he was a walker, but she slowly realized that he was just wearing the pelt not fused to it. He was injured too...from what she didn't know, but she did her best to tend his wounds and put him back together.
He didn't say much, not even a thank you, but she didn't really expect one from the strange stallion. He'd watch her as she moved around the grove, gathering herbs and flowers necessary for her remedies, humming all the while, snatches of bird song, or songs she'd received as payment from the individuals she'd healed. It was strange having him watch her constantly, but she didn't really mind all that much.
At night though he would disappear. The instant the sun was down he would be gone from the section of her grove he claimed as his own personal space. Gone until the sun was up, sometimes with new injury and sometimes not. She patiently patched him back up again, afraid to ask what he'd done to cause the injuries. Although she figured he wouldn't answer even if she asked. She just bandaged his wounds then went about her other tasks.
Eventually she realized that it wasn't a new day unless her "shadow" was in his spot, and mornings when he wasn't there, just weren't as bright. What did he do at night though? She became determined to find out, and so one night when the sun when down she followed him. It was not...what she expected. He was a completely different stallion! More imposing, a little...terrifying. She moved to return to her grove and then there he was in front of her, actually speaking to her! Demanding to know what she was doing here! It wasn't safe and she needed to go. She tried to ask questions, but he just forced her back to her grove, telling her she'd be safer there. She didn't understand, but she went.
The same thing day after day, new moon after new moon. He disappears and reappears, she tends to him when he needs it. He talks sometimes...asks her if he hurt her...he...doesn't remember...The answer is always no.
And that's how things stayed...until the baskets appeared. Do they plan on staying together or separating? Together Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? While unexpected, the foals will not be unloved. Daddy will be the shield from the things that would hurt his foals. While not expected, he'd do anything to protect them. They are his and he is theirs. While there may not be a lot of love between him and their mother, he'll do the best he can for them, despite it all. Things just get complicated at night. Momma will act as a buffer between them and their father's night time activites, but that may become more difficult as they get older. She'll also try to teach them healing or other survival skills that they might find useful. Their son is going to be family oriented and protective of his sister (like day time dad), but struggles to find a balance wanting to look after her and not be suffocating. He may also suffers from a more mild form if his father's curse, but won't have it until he's a young adult. Their daughter is going to be a hoof-full. She wants to know where Daddy goes at night, and about the things that lurk in the darkness. She wants to protect her family from all the terrors out there. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? --Healing Lessons: Momma will do her best to teach the kids a little something about herbs and other quick remedies. It always pays to be able to heal, it could save your life. --Like a Bird: Besides healing, Momma has a passion for music, she'll try to encourage an interest in music with her foals. --Things that go Bump: Little girl just HAS to know where Daddy goes and will follow him one evening to try and learn the truth. Her brother will follow in an attempt to protect her. How will the foals deal with finding out Daddy is one of the terrors of the night? --Like Father, Like Son: The son realizes he has inherited the curse of his father. How will he adjust and learn to live with what he becomes at night?
Anything else to note? Thanks~ It was fun~
Who is trying for the Papa? Wasteland Wyvern (Etienne "Ghost" Regayle, Traditional) Who is trying for the Mama? Belloblossom (Sirena, Musical) Who is trying for the Son? ATh e a r t (Lamont, Thespian) Who is trying for the Daughter? Cyhorse (Senka Regayle, ???) How did the mother and father meet? What's their story on how they wound up with two kids? Born within the same canyon valley, but on two separate sides of the valley, and within two different herds, is where these parents called home. Etienne's herd was one that respected tradition and honor; Sirena's was made up entirely of mares and fillies, who desired to keep their herd single-sex. Neither herd seemed to know much about the other, and kept to themselves. Sirena and Etienne hadn't even realized there was another herd in the area, and they wouldn't until much later in their lives.
Despite their clear differences, both herds had Coming-of-Age ceremonies that were treated with the utmost respect. Sirena's herd prided themselves on their ability to sing and attract males, and had a Coming-of-Age ritual where a mare, once she reached adulthood, would leave the valley and find a place where she could settle for a bit, in order to have foals. Once finding this location, she would sing until she attracted a stallion, and return with only female baskets. If a colt was born, then the son would be abandoned with his father. Males were only to be used for producing daughters, Sirena's herd had no other use for them. Like the other mares before her, when Sirena hit adulthood, she too, left the canyon valley in search of a stallion who would help her bear daughters. Etienne's herd was one that was a traditional herd, and Etienne was born the son of the Head Scout. While Sirena had been trained in song as a foal, Etienne was trained for survival. Then, when Etienne reached adulthood his father stepped down and he was granted the new Head Scout of the herd.
While Sirena took time to search for a suitable location to settle, Etienne was preforming admirably as the Head Scout. One day he was out on a ranging mission that took him to the canyon that was the herds' exit to the outlands. Rarely was a scout sent on a mission here but the Alpha Stallion had heard some troubling stories that a skinwalker might be prowling about. Etienne had been dispatched shortly afterward to find the truth of this tale. He reached the canyon without any trouble, and found a blood trail that led through the jagged walls of the ravine. Setting his jaw the stallion walked carefully following the blood trail until he came to the corpse of a small filly, slain and half eaten. Sick with the sight Etienne wandered closer to the body noting that it was not one from his own herd. Curious how this filly came to be here he explored around for a bit but found no evidence, not even a scent trail to follow for the musky death ridden smell of the skinwalker that had done this ended at her body. The young scout was baffled but continued forward through the canyon scenting carefully to ensure he was alone. Suddenly the world came alive with scents most prevalently the stink of death. He looked up to where it was coming from and saw three forms at the top of the canyon. Each bore a pelt of a different animal. Cat, wolf, and bear. The bear pelted stallion stepped forward and laughed maniacally drawing Etienne's attention to it. Sadly he did not see what the wolf was doing while his attention was on the bear. With a quick kick of his back hooves the wolf sent a rock crashing into the canyon with the intent of crushing Etienne! Quick as a striking snake he dodged it. The sound of it hitting the canyon floor was deafening. He sneered up at the skinwalkers and watched carefully. Suddenly a crack sounded through the canyon. The crashing boulder had started a rockslide and the only way to survive it was to run, so run he did. Faster and faster through the canyon his sides heaving at the exertion. Barely outrunning the falling rocks and receiving many cuts and bruises when sharp rocks rained down upon his flanks.
Etienne managed to escape the rockslide, when he tried to return to his home, he found the effort to be futile. The only way to and from the valley was sealed, and Etienne was locked on the outside forever. The skinwalkers that caused this tragedy were no where to be found after the rockslide had cleared, but as evening came and he rested beside the mess, he could swear he heard the screams of his family carried on the wind, along with the scent of blood and death. He paced back and forth until a blood red sunrise rose in the east and only then did he finally give up and realize he was never going home...
Sirena and Etienne were both shut out from their home, but the mare had no way of knowing it, until one fateful day... Sirena had finally settled in a small, breezy meadow she'd found protected by some woods. The mixed sounds of the forest surrounding her carried well on the winds that came through the meadow. It was as though the entire forest was singing, and how joyful it was! Of course, sounds weren't the only thing that carried on the winds- scents were as well, and on one particular air current, the familiar scent of home was carried to the nose of a wandering stallion nearby. The scent attracted Etienne's attention--maybe there was a member of his herd in the area, and he followed the scent as best as he could, before finally coming upon a meadow, where a mare stood, her muzzle tilted towards the sky.
That was strange, Sirena hadn't even begun to sing, and yet here was a stallion standing just along the edge of her meadow. She inclined her head towards him, wondering if she still ought to sing to him, when he approached her, his head low. He came very close to her, and she was beginning to question stallion behaviors (did all stallions act this way to mares?) when he sniffed at her coat! Jumping away in surprise, she demanded to know what on earth he was doing! The stallion apologized, but his eyes were lit up in a strange manner that she couldn't place. Did she smell that nicely? She hadn't thought herself to smell any different, and again, she asked for explanation. The light in the stallion's eyes went out, and that's how she learned of the news of the canyon valley. That the entrance was sealed, and that skinwalkers likely killed all the Soquili within the valley, no matter which herd they were from.
At first, she was shocked, and then she shook her head. She informed the stallion that she wouldn't believe such a thing until she saw it for herself! It didn't matter that the canyon entrance was blocked, she would fly herself over the top, or shrink herself through a crack-- or find some way inside to find out the truth of what happened! After realizing that Sirena could not be convinced otherwise, Etienne agreed to go with her.
And so the journey home began, with two Soquili learning about one another on the travel back. Etienne found that Sirena had a lovely singing voice, and there were several times along the journey that Sirena found herself plenty grateful for Etienne's knowledge about surviving in the wilderness. By the time they reached the location where the rockslide had occurred, both Soquili knew more about each other than they had any other in their lifetime. They were by this time very close to one another, and romantic feelings, though they hadn't been spoken were felt in both Soquili for one another. Still, facing the closed off entrance, feelings were put aside for the time being. It was time to learn the truth of what had happened.
Sirena couldn't fly over such a tall canyon, she'd discovered, but Etienne had managed to find a small gap in the rocks that led through the slide into the other side. After shrinking her size and telling him she wouldn't be long, Sirena managed to squeeze herself through the tiny entrance and out into the other side. She had been dreading the sight of blood and bones, as Etienne had, but what she saw within the valley was even more horrible than that.
There was nothingness all around. Well, the valley was still there, of course, looking the same as it when Sirena had left. She returned to her regular size and began to walk about, on the lookout for any prowling skinwalker, or a survivor from either herd. Still, after a while of walking, she realized that there was a definite absence of life within the valley, and it wasn't just Soquili. Smaller creatures, birds, rodents, and even bugs, were gone. There wasn't any breeze in the valley either, which was strange to Sirena, who had learned to ride on air currents in her youth. Something was wrong, and since there weren't any Soquili, nor their remains, she got the heck out of there and managed to shrink back down long enough to get back out onto the other side, where Etienne awaited her return.
How dreadful... They couldn't be sure on what happened, but it certainly wasn't good. Whatever had happened in the valley, whether it was done by the skinwalkers or something else, had left a bad mark on the valley, and nothing living had gone inside that place for a very long time. Filled with despair and a haunting feeling, Sirena and Etienne left the canyon's closed entrance to find a place nearby. They settled there for the night, comforting each other with stories of the past. Within this conversation, their confessions of their feelings slipped out, and both Soquili were happy to hear the other returned their affections.
When the morning came, they left their past behind and the ominous canyon valley behind them, and the two lovers went to find a new home to call their own, where they could settle for a time, and raise a family. Do they plan on staying together or separating? Sirena and Etienne have no plans on separating from one another, now or in the future. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? This family will be based around the performing arts, each member taking a slightly different approach to their own preforming talent, whether it be Direction, Song, Acting, or Dance. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Finding Your Passion - Sirena is more than enthusiastic about having foals, especially because she'll get to teach them how to sing! But... Maybe these foals have other passions and talents than singing that they'd like to explore on their own.
A Family Business - This is a very theatrical family, each in their own way. There's Sirena, the singer and co-director; Etienne, the "scout for talent"/recruiter and co-director; Lamont, the actor; and Senka, the dancer. Banded together, they're a small family group of performers who wish to bring entertainment to other Soquili herds. Within this plot, the family will be traveling new locations to both perform, and pick up some other talented Soquili, who have something new to bring to the band!
Anything else to note? * Etienne's pelt was one worn by all Head Scouts, and was bestowed upon him by his father, as a symbol of position. The chain cuff he wears, was given to him as a showing of his loyalty to the herd.
* Sirena's headphones were given to her from one of the senior members of her herd. These headphones are ones that block noise from her ears, but she's always been so open to hearing new sounds, that she's never worn them "properly". Her necklace was given to her by her mother, when Sirena finally discovered her voice and how to sing beautifully. The other accessories she wears have less significance.
Who is trying for the Papa? She-Ra of Etheria (Urdo) Who is trying for the Mama? stormflower (Lark) Who is trying for the Son? xxx Yuki Bear xxx (Jay) Who is trying for the Daughter? -Diamond-Elephant- (Nightingale) How did the mother and father meet? It is said that emptiness can form a bond so solid that no one can tear it apart. So it was the fate of emptiness that brought Lark and Urdo together. Lark had grown up wanting for nothing but always feeling that something was missing from her life. A calm and quiet mare she is the type that speaks only when there is something worthwhile to say. Knowing that somewhere out there she had a purpose and with a song filling her heart and soul Lark left her privileged and somewhat sheltered life to seek out her purpose. After much travel Lark found herself in a new land, a land where she was alone. Loneliness caused her to sing, as it kept her loneliness at bay and gave her peace. It was this singing that drew Urdo out of his secluded home one day. A self-proclaimed hermit Urdo had spent a large part of his life alone in solitude. The pelt upon his back has ensured that others stay away, for many have often mistaken him for a skinwalker at first glance and their avoidance of him is exactly what he is hoping for. He would have never guessed that a song would change his life. Urdo followed the melody through the trees and eventually came across a mare. Though his gut told him to leave, hide away before she saw him he stayed to listen to her beautiful voice. When Lark spotted the stallion watching her she approached him, but he quickly began to pull back into the tree, unwilling to endure another's company. Lark persisted and though he tried to run her off with some harsh words the mare would not be swayed. It was obvious to Lark that the stallion had been drawn to her song. She stayed near where he lived, but kept her distance to give him the space he obviously wanted. Each day she would sing and each time he would venture out to listen but did not get close nor talk to her for many days. When he finally broke the silence his voice was rough and scratchy from lack of use. He had begrudgingly grown used to her presence and her singing and wanted that to never stop. Though Urdo wasn't sure he could ever become one with society he was beginning to see that being alone wasn't all that he had originally thought it would be. It was a lonely and empty place and what he needed was someone to fill that void, and maybe, just maybe Lark was what he needed. Lark had come to see Urdo as someone who needed her protection as well as her love. She had watched the stallions shield crack slowly over time and was beginning to see who he was behind the wall he had build around himself. The emptiness that had once filled her own life was now being filled with Urdo as much as Urdo's emptiness was being filled with Lark. Finding what each other had been missing Lark and Urdo became loving mates, enjoying each others quiet company. Though Urdo had believed that his life could not get any better, the day that Lark announced that they were to be parents was his best day yet. Now the eager parents wait for their children to break free of their wicker confines and join their happy quiet home and family. Do they plan on staying together or separating? Staying together. Do you guys have any possible tentative family dynamic? A close-knit family if there ever was one. Lark is a loving mother that adores her two foals and mate with her whole heart, and this too is true of Urdo. While he is quite the silent stallion and may not show his love in the same way that many others might, it is still clear that he cares for his family in his own way. At least in the beginning, Urdo prefers to keep his family away from others, though one day may open up to the idea of bringing them out amongst the other soquili, likely with a lot of help from Lark. Years of living in solitude is a hard thing to unlearn, after all. Nightingale is not so bothered by the secluded lifestyle her family lead, very much content with the company of her father, mother, and brother (of whom she all adores). However, she cannot shake her curiosity about the world outside of her own, but is not yet so bold as to venture off from the safety of her family. Of course the two foals are still so young, Jay a somewhat unknown entity to his parents (and even to himself), still yet to discover who he is and what exactly his purpose and place in life might be. Do you guys have any future plots once the kids arrive? Why I Wear This: Urdo has never told anyone what the true reason was behind him wearing the pelt to begin with. As his children are starting to grow older he believes that this is the best time to explain to them and Lark why he started to wear the pelt and why he continues to do so. You Were To Be Mine: A stallion from Lark's past makes an appearance and stirs up trouble for the family. He claims that Lark was his promised mate in her old herd and now he wants her to return to the herd with him and fulfill that promise that her parents had made. Urdo and Lark must work together to stay together and keep this stallion from tearing their family apart. Fair is Fair: Having failed in his attempts at taking Lark back with him, the same stallion from her past eventually returns once more. However, this time he is not here for Lark, for if he cannot have her then he shall take her foals instead. And when Nightingale comes of age, she will take her mother's place as his mate. Hell Hath No Fury: Upon the abduction of their children, Lark and Urdo act swiftly in trying to get them back safe and sound. Yet it is not so easy a feat, and despite their efforts will their children even want to return with them with them when all is said and done? Will they even succeed? Or will the stallion prove too much of a match this time? It is yet unknown how this tale will conclude and only time will tell. [This is an open ended plot that could end in a number of ways depending on time and rp.]
Anything else to note? We'll see how the family grows and changes through rp and plotting, but we had fun writing together and coming up with their story and such!
