It had been hours, Alex suspected, since he'd woken up from his terrible dream and run to the bathroom. He hadn't moved. His entire body was still shaking, and he felt sick, but he hadn't thrown up again - at least there was that. But he was doing no better - every time he closed his eyes, the same image reared back up, of his Ascended, cracked form, and it sent him into a state of panic all over again.
He heard the front door open and close, which meant Luka was home, and part of him wanted to call out - but how would he explain being curled up in a lump with his face buried in Luka's sweatshirt, so panicked he hadn't moved for hours even though he ached and his legs prickled and he really, really should have gotten up? There was no explaining it - not without telling Luka things he couldn't know. [Mistress Morbid] sorry to spam you with more things ;;

The house was quiet. A rarity, and at this point, quite the oddity as well. Luka, however didn't question it, figuring Alex to be out harassing Des again, or just... doing whatever it was Alex did. The kid was a social butterfly. He was always doing something. Dropping his bag by the door, Luka staggered his way over to the couch before flopping over it with all of the non exsistant grace he possessed, a loud grunt following as his head banged against the arm a little harder then he wanted. The green haired man stretched, a loud yawn escaping him as he lazily arranged his limbs, fixing to possibly take a nap till Alex got him. However long that would be. Or maybe he'd take a quick one and surprise his boyfriend with dinner, already made. Ugh, that sounded like work. But Alex always liked it so that was something, he guessed. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, Luka texted him, asking when he'd be back and if he had any preferences for dinner.

Luka wasn't coming back to look for him -- good, good, that might give him some time to get himself back together. If he could get himself into a less desperate and pathetic state, he could face Luka and not have to worry about accidentally revealing anything.
Alas, that was not to be.
The buzzing and chime of his phone in his pocket startled him, grating on his frazzled nerves, enough that he yelped and pulled the thing out of his pocket with full intention of throwing it across the room. He was aware enough to know that wouldn't end well, however, and instead just dropped it and pressed his hands over it, desperately trying to muffle the noise. His yelp had devolved into pathetic whining, and he shook all over.
It seemed like a stupid thing to get so worked up about, but when he was on edge already, even such a small startle was enough to tip him over into full on overreaction.

After having initially texting Alex, Luka dropped his phone onto the couch and closed his eyes. He wasn't worried about missing the responding text, the jingle would wake him up soon enough. The buzz and chiming streaming from the bathroom was not what he expected for a wake up call however. He blinked, sitting up some. "...Pixie?" He called tentatively. Maybe the idiot just left his phone home before going out. Again. "Alex??"

Alex slowly uncurled himself when Luka actually called out for him, taking deep breaths. Luka was alive, in the next room, and if he could just make himself get there ---
He stumbled, a little, when he left the bathroom, and got himself into the living room, so he could collapse next to the couch and press his face into Luka's chest and whine, softly, like a very sad, very wounded puppy.
Operation: Get Self Together, an abject failure.

Luka raised an brow, a small grunt when Alex crashed into his chest. "Alex? What's up?" The green haired man tugged Alex up onto the couch before flopping back down, effectively trapping the smaller man between him and the back of the couch. "...And is that my hoodie?"

"I," Alex said quietly, curling up against Luka and closing his eyes. Being squished between Luka and the couch was the best place he could think to be right then. "Yes, it's your hoodie," he admitted. "I...wear them sometimes, when you're not home."
It sounded dumber, and a little creepier, out loud.
"I love you."

"Kinda big on you... You're fallin out of it Pixie." Luka muttered as he tried to stiffle a yawn. "Wearing an over sized piece of clothing is only gonna make you feel smaller." He teased lightly. But then the green haired boy hummed lightly when Alex's fingers curled into his shirt as the tiny man pressed against him. "Love you too."

"I don't mind feeling small, when it's compared to you," he said. Being small in Luka's things felt safe and warm, not embarrassing or anything like that.
He let out a tiny exhale.
"I had another nightmare, and I...I'm just really glad you're okay."

"I can think of a few times when you didn't particularly like the difference..." Luka muttered, giving his head a shake as he tried to wake himself up more. Though Alex's words confused him. "...Course I'm okay, it's just a dream. It didn't actually happen."

"It was...incredibly real," Alex said. He wasn't convinced in any way, shape, or form that it was "just a dream." It had felt far too real. There was far too much detail. It was memories, or visions, or something - but he couldn't explain that to Luka, and instead he just let out a tiny sob and pressed himself tighter against the much taller man's chest.
"Please just. Just stay here. With me."

"Dreams get like that sometimes. You have to remember though, it's all in your head. It was just a dream Alex. No matter how real it felt, it was just a dream." When Alex reacted the way he did though, Luka's brow knit together. Had this dream really spooked Alex that bad? "...I'm not going anywhere." The taller man promised, his grip on the blue haired teen tightening just the slightest bit. "Promise."

"I...I know," Alex said, his voice shaky enough to make it clear that he really didn't know at all. But maybe...maybe if he gave it a few hours, with a warm, alive, present Luka, he could convince himself that his boyfriend was right and he was safe.
So he shifted his position just enough to let him wrap his arms around Luka's shoulders, and got comfortable, fingers of one hand lightly twisting themselves in his boyfriend's hair. "Good. I...thanks." It sounded stupid, but what else was he supposed to say, anyway? He was as safe here as he was going to get anywhere.
