postdated Oct. 2nd

As before, Titanlåvenite had submitted to see and report on findings to the General-Queen prior to the day of. Unlike, however, was the fewer days between. He'd wasted no time in gathering Alkahest to carry out the investigation- there was no reason to waste time in reporting in once completed.

The investigation had shown that too much waiting had already passed.

At three minutes to appointed meeting time the captain knocked succinctly prior to entry. There may have been another parcel or two now added to the stockpile, but he couldn't be sure. He wasn't born of a memory quite so precise, especially when not written down. He took knee as before, "General-Queen."

Then awaited her leisure and acknowledgement.

While Laurelite found many of her meetings strained, usually with rebellious or troublesome Agents of Metallia, Titanlåvenite was a welcome change. The smile on her face was a little more genuine when she looked up. She spared few pleasantries this time, for even if his presence was not unwanted, she was busy and had little time to spare.

"How goes the investigation?" she prompted, lowering the pen she had been using. Maps were strewn across her desk, of strange and foreign places. There were charts and notes scribbled onto the papers, which had seen better days, but she had not been kind to them in more recent days. She blinked and focused her eyes as she looked at the Agent before her; she had been so engrossed in her work that the color of another human seemed strange and foreign. Still, she smiled, quite glad for a break from her papers.

Recognition given, Titan fished a small notepad out from between shirt and belt to review notes and keep the report simple. "Social Networking sites and online presence showed little-to-no activity. No evidence of close friends. No attempts by any family, if he has any, to look for him or reclaim his things from his apartment. "

"The last purchase made on his accounts was Tacos on the New Year. There was no payment on his rent in January or February, so we think that is when he turned traitor. "

"There was one unusual note in a trashcan. 'I am not a piece of meat'. With no one in the Negaverse looking for him- no commanding officers and no compatriots, no social life outside of uniform, he was isolated. Maybe the note refers to something else, but if he was a soldier that needed a strong unit feel, community and guidance, its not surprising if he felt used. "

"No one did notice he was missing. "

"We couldn't find any evidence of if there was a specific broker to his defection." It would have been helpful if they could to know what was a dangerous conversion source they needed to specifically hunt down. Someone silver tongued. "No real leads on his new identity- not unless someone met cats he owned to identify the animals in new home. It isn't much in a city this size. "

Laurelite nodded slowly, mulling over the information she was given. She tapped the fingers of one hand lightly across the surface of her desk. She did not seem pleased, though her dissatisfaction was not directed at Titan. On the contrary, he had done an extraordinary service by looking into such matters and researching so well, though she was unhappy to hear that neither was there more information nor that it had taken so long to learn of this defection.

"That is unfortunate," she said coolly; her eyes were unfocused for a moment, staring at something unseen on the distant wall. She was plotting, or stifling anger.

Her fingers drummed on the surface of her desk once more, and then the smile returned, and her gaze was once more on Titan. "You do such an excellent job, Captain. I shall have to keep my eyes on you, you are a wonder. Were there ever any reports of Senshi—Knights?--he might have been close to? I would be interested to know who could have swayed him. Or who performed the purification." She spoke the last word spitefully, as if it were one she did not agree with. She sighed and then relaxed a bit. "Why was no one looking after him? Where was his commanding officer, his allies?"

…Could she blame them? Or was it the Negaverse that was to be blamed? —Or her?

Metallia would not be pleased, either way. This was a report she suddenly dreaded, but hopefully there was still some good news that could come from this. Perhaps they could study this case and make efforts to prevent a similar one from ever happening again.

"The rosters have not been well kept, General Queen. They age from a few months before that January and February, so it is difficult to say if in the missing time any new Generals were promoted who became his direct CO. There was none listed in his file. No listed team. No listed direct subordinate officers either." Though Titan himself had no official subordinates, when he thought about it. Probably better, but a little sad.

"The Bull told me himself he was Realgar. He was alone at our skirmish. More than that, combing other Knights or senshi for who he may be close to in hope to find the sources of defection, might be best by someone smaller and friendly of the Infos. I have not met many Knights in combat or talk. There was nothing and no one to point to the answer in his personal life. Unless.. I did not hunt for his Youma. He commanded one, Redline. I don't know if it lives or speaks. "

Laurelite seemed agitated, though her annoyance was not directed at the man in front of her. Things in the Negaverse had been difficult of late; those in power seemed to come and go, and she could only pick up so much slack. The Negaverse was more than just a personal project for her—it was her life. When it struggled, she struggled.

When it had weaknesses, she had weaknesses.

When it failed, she failed.

"What would I do without you," she mused, moving to rest against her desk. She seemed tired, but no amount of pressure would see her buckle. Her question might have been rhetorical, but if anyone was grateful for an agent who invested himself, it was her. "I would urge you to continue searching for what information you could find. Perhaps you knew him better than I—if you do find him—" She looked at him, and then corrected, "When you find him, you must let me know if your investigation suggests we save him or dispose of him."

Either way, something must be done.

But such would be determined only when they had more information, and right now it sounded as though Titanlåvenite had the best course of action already planned. She shrugged off the concern for what to do in the future; right now they needed to figure out what to do in the present. She was getting ahead of herself. "Shall I direct you to an agent in Infos, or would you like to search for one yourself? You have a good taste in character, I imagine. I would like to see this task finished out, you need only tell me what assistance I can provide."

" I will look for the Bull himself, and see what either myself or Alkahest can discover in quiet converse with him. And in further test of combat. She has done well as an Informations officer. " Titan bowed his head to the small General Queen. "And a report of further information on his case will be made to you. Leads of what Royal was responsible, if he is still sharp as a possible sword for the throne of Metallia."

"If he will not take the knee, then he will be broken." Though I could not do it alone. If he will not return, then I will need to recruit the help of at least another captain. Some of the Lieutenants. "The weapons of the SpecOps have been in the training rooms only for too long. It will be a good mission to wake them to their purpose, if it comes. Hunting a knight. "

"Thank you, Kvaen. Your approval to pursue the mission and guidance was all that I needed. " He rose, to give her her floorspace back and set to the business still ahead of himself. If it comes to breaking the once Realgar, it may be a hunt I can bring to Obsidian. He would enjoy that. I should visit him.
