[[Backdated to mid-September]]When Tali had first woken up in the hospital, she was sort of unsure where she was. Somewhere between there and the park, she had fallen unconscious, and when she woke up she was disoriented, high on pain meds, and generally not in a place for cognition. So she went back to sleep, and she slept on and off through the worst parts of her recovery from being impaled.
Finally, she was moved out of intensive care and into observation, and so she was more available to visitors. Which meant, finally, that she could see Marie - and, she suspected, get to hear all about how irresponsible she had been.
Oops.

The moment Marie got the call about Tali the purple haired girl sped like a demon to the hospital. Social anxiety be damned, nothing was going to stop her from getting to her girlfriend. Of course they wouldn't give her any information. They weren't married, weren't related. Legally Marie wasn't anything to Tali. So she'd stayed in the hospital in worry, cursing out the doctors every time she tried to ask about her condition and got denied. She was one good fight away from being kicked out when they told her Tali could finally have visitors. With whispered apologies and thank yous she followed the nurse to Tali's room and just stood in the door way, looking at her laying there on the bed, tears in her eyes that seemed to have found a permanent home there. The only thing she could think of was 'she looks so small' on that bed. So lonely, and that's what drove her to take the fist steps in the room, boots clicking in her wake. She dragged the provided chair close and just sat down and took Tali's dark hand in hers and thumbed her knuckles. ".....You dumbass," were the first tear choked words to her followed by a watery smile.

Tali smiled back at her, and it was a warm and comfortable thing to be insulted - which would probably seem odd, but that was true. It meant she was alive to be yelled at.
"I saved someone's life," she argued, but it wasn't really an argument - her tone was far too affectionate for that. "Two someones, actually." Three, if they were counting Vespa's escape from the Negaverse, but that was pretty abstract - she hadn't done much to help him except distract Painite for a while, and she hadn't even done that very well. More credit would go to the two Senshi who had helped her than to her, for that.

"...I swear to God if you die I will bring you back and personally kick your a** into the next dimension." Marie let out a shaky laugh and just kissed her girlfriend's knuckles lightly. "...They wouldn't tell me what happened to you.. how.. serious your injuries are. What the hell happened, baby?" She leaned forward a bit, pushing Tali's hair out of her face and thumbed an eyebrow before sighing, looking at her torso, brows knitting harder. There were literally gray hairs in Marie's hair now, a few strands here and there from being so stressed out. She got so attached so quickly and the thought of losing Tali to being a ******** magical girl were going to wreck havoc on her nerves. There was saving lives but then there was dying saving lives. Marie was a greedy person. She wanted Tali with her. Wanted to grow old with her. "You need to stay alive to save more people, stupid..."

Tali nodded, acknowledging her acquiescence to Marie's terms. "Gonna hold you to that, babe," she said, and then she flinched and looked aorund. With a quick assessment, she determined that yes, they were alone enough for her to talk about magical girl things without risking being overheard and giving herself away. She still dropped her voice low.
"There was this huge congregation of auras around North End Park - where one of my friends, Hvergelmir, hangs out? So I got worried and went to investigate - turns out, it was a Negaverse Senshi, trying to purify. But his boss had gotten wind of it and there was this whole mess and this crazy General with a spear showed up and she threw it at me and Hver and Mistral - and you know, Mistral's insides are already messy and Hver really doesn't need a spear through the middle so uh, I got between them. And took the hit. And. It hurt." To put it mildly. "This Senshi and a Dark Mirror helped get me stabilized and to the hospital and then I got here and now I'm awake and my wound is packed and presumably I am no longer super likely to drop dead.."

The more she talked, the more Marie didn't want her going out. She didn't want Tali going out anymore and getting hurt. She just pet the other's hand again, thumbs stroking those knuckles and gritted her teeth. She didn't know the significance behind anyone purifying or whatever, most of this might as well be Al Bhed for all she understood. But there'd been mention of a spear, and Tali getting hit, and now she was here. She wanted to be so greedy. Wanted to argue with her to not ever go out, to not power up anymore. Marie just dropped her head to the arm that was rested on the bed. The tears didn't stop as she struggled with keeping her mouth shut. Losing Tali was the biggest fear Marie had and now she realized how close she was to it coming true. "...You're... Stupid. You're so stupid." It was said through hitched breaths and coughing from choking back her sobs. "Don't... Just.." She looked up, tear stained cheeks red, nose stuffy as she sniffled. "...I'll.. Take care of you."

"Hey. Hey," Tali slung her arm around Marie's shoulders, gently stroking her hair. She realized, sort of, that if this whole experience had been terrifying for her, it had to be even worse for everyone around her. How many of them had seen death the way she and the others had at Mistral? Did it matter all that much, even if they hadn't? No one wanted to see a friend, an ally...a lover, in Marie's case, bleed out.
"Yes, I'm a total giant idiot and I never should've let myself get into that sort of situation, and I am so sorry for scaring you. But I'm here now, and I'm alive, and that's what matters, right?" She asked, her voice soft and gentle. "And I'll be out of here and back home in no time."

"Damn right you are," she was trying to sound like her old self because Tali needed it. She kissed Tali's hand again and sat back in the chair and took a deep, sighing breath before scrubbing her hands over her face and swallowing. Her throat was tight. It hurt to swallow. Staying like that for a few moments, the purple haired woman leaned forward and gave a light laugh. "If you think you're going out there again any time soon, I'm sorry to say you're under house arrest." She knew she couldn't stop her from going, it was duty. You didn't get in the way of that, as much as every fiber of he being wanted to protest. Marie figured she'd just make sure her girlfriend healed as best as she could for a while. "You hear me? You're not doin' anything. I'm doing it. Grocery shopping, laundry, all that. And I'll be here after every shift until you get out. I can bring you food when you're able... to eat something ...normal." They might put her on a special diet? Marie didn't know how hospitals worked, but still. "I can grab your DS if you want. Play some games during the boring parts where I'm not here.."

Tali nodded agreeably. House arrest sounded more than fair, after the trouble she'd managed to get herself into while she was out powered up. And anyway, compromising her internals before she was fully healed sounded like a fairly unfun idea. So, yeah, laying around and healing? Best possible outcome, here.
"I can do that. And I would very much like a DS, I don't know what the TV lineup here looks like but I'm pretty sure I will quickly be sick of Maury's parade of hot messes. ...Oh, crap, and I'll have to get excuses for work though uh, major surgery is probably a good reason for a long-term sub." She laughed, softly, but only for a moment.
"I love you," she said, "and I promise - I'm not going anywhere."
