It was getting colder, but it wasn't so bad a thing for Bethany Wyatt. She may not have had access to a lot of clothes, but she did have one jacket that she absolutely adored and cherished, as it was given to her by a sister many years ago, and she always looked forward to wearing it. October chills were nothing compared to what would be hitting the city come Novemver and December, but still, any excuse to wear this jacket was welcomed.
What was also great about the upcoming cold weather was the chance to indulge in the wide array of flavored coffees and beverages that coffee shops had to offer. Right now, pumpkin spice was on all the rave, but Bethany never cared much for coffee. No, it kept her up at night and made her jittery, though she had a feeling that she would soon be growing accustomed to the life-giving liquid once she went to college.
If... she went to college. She had no doubt that she'd do well enough to get in and once there, she'd fit right in, but she just had a feeling that college wasn't meant for her. Or rather, she wasn't meant for college.
She looked over the hot cocoa she was carrying, waiting eagerly for it to cool down so that she could enjoy it, as she pondered what the future might have held for her. The new future, not the one that terrorized her nightmares... she was so caught up in the memory that she wasn't watching where she was going and could not see the figure before her until it was too late!

It wasn't often that Mimisbrunnr ran into civilians while she was on patrol, unless she was intervening to save them from a Negaverse agent or, more rarely, a Dark Mirror. It was even less often that she literally ran into civilians, which is what happened when she bumped into the poor girl carrying a cup of hot cocoa.
"Oh gosh, I'm really sorry!" she said, putting her hands out to hopefully steady the cup. "I didn't mean..."
Crap, crap, crap, she really hoped this girl wasn't one of the people who thought Knights were terrorists or this was going to get very awkward very fast.

Bethany was willing to go 50/50 on the incident with the other person. After all, she should have been watching where she was going, and when carrying hot liquid of any kind, one should have always be mindful of where they were going. However, whomever she bumped into shared fifty percent of that blame, and to hear her apologize was gratifying enough, despite the warm liquid that now stained her beloved jacket.
Yet, its sacrifice wasn't in vain, as it had spared it wearer from harm, and Bethany took the opportunity to look up at the one she had bumped into. The outfit was strange to any normal civilian, but Bethany wasn't just any civilian. She was a Dark Mirror in disguise, and she recognized the one in front of her as being a knight. She let out a surprised gasp, but otherwise, she kept her head on her shoulders. She wouldn't know she was a Mirror senshi, she reminded herself, and she hoped her fear wasn't too obvious in her voice. "No, no, it was my fault... I should have been watching where I was going? Did... did any of it get on you?"
Other members of her court would have been appalled to see her talking with a knight, but she rather liked knights. Most of them, anyway. This one was no different, and she found herself admiring her attire. "You look... very dressed up. Are you going somewhere? A Halloween party perhaps?"

Mimisbrunnr took a step back and glanced down. "Oh, it wouldn't matter if it had, this suit is uh, not really liquid permeable," as she'd learned all too well on Mistral, when blood that had sunk into others' fukus had merely sort of dribbled off hers. "Are you okay?" It had definitely gotten on the other girl, and she was concerned. As a gesture of "being less creepy," she reached up to pull down her facemask - there was no danger in it, right? Even with her full face showing, she was magically protected.
"Uhm, a Halloween party, yeah," she lied clumsily. "Highly visible ninja?" It was a joke, but not a particularly inaccurate description of her attire as a Page. Which was sort of odd, since she couldn't see a need for a Highly Visible Ninja to protect a library, of all things.

Bethany was relieved. Her coat was too thick for the hot cocoa to harm her and apparently this 'highly visible ninja' was protected by her own attire. A waste of money, perhaps, but it was something that Bethany could have dealt with. There would always be more chances for hot cocoa later... third degree burns? Those left scars, but neither would suffer from that this evening.
"Well.. your outfit is adorable. I hope you're not too cold? I know there's fluff there, but the rest... well insulated?"
It was small talk if anything, and Bethany hoped she wasn't distracting her from any important business that she might have been attending as a knight. As a civilian, Bethany couldn't feel or sense auras, so if she looked ready to bolt, Bethany would take that as a sign that there was trouble nearby. "Well, I'm glad you're not hurt or anything. Just be careful out there... and have fun, too."

Mimis nodded. "Very well insulated!" She said. It had to be, she supposed, Mercury looked like it was cold. "Don't worry about me getting cold, but you stay warm yourself, alright?" She wished she could give the girl a little money to buy a new cocoa, since it was sort of her fault the first had spilled. If she'd been watching where she was going a little better... Oh well, she would have to find her again and apologize another way, maybe. If she could do it without, you know, compromising her identity as a badass magical planetary warrior to a totally unknown civilian.
Which was 100% totally and completely different than compromising her identity as a badass magical planetary warrior to her girlfriend. Obviously.
"Same to you," she said, turning to leave and wiggling her fingers in a quick goodbye. "Don't get into too much trouble!" The Page said, and she took off, but kept herself to a more reasonable human level of physicality, again in the interest of "not showing off as a magical warrior."
Even though she sort of wanted to bounce up onto a roof. Roof-hopping was fun, and Tali enjoyed all the awesome fun physical boosts that came with being a Knight. Oh well, she would have to enjoy them later.
