Elleth took a moment to rub her face against her sleeve, blade held out in front of her and pointed at the Firani that opposed her. It was still small, possibly having just reached the level at it was at, and highly aggressive. It wasn't as if she'd came to the desert looking to pick a fight. All she'd wanted was to return to the place where her hazy memories had placed her last, to look for a blade that had most likely been swallowed by the sands. It was a selfish desire and one that was unlikely to ever come true. But part of her craved it, and it was relentlessly pushing her onward.
It was a wound that would never heal unless she tried, and if she just sat back, it would fester and rot and drive her into doing things far stupider than this. At least here she was limited by how much food and water she could carry or scrounge up. Anything else? Well, diving into the oceans to look at the depths below sounded like a fantastic way to drown. Hello sarcasm, distraction be thy name.
The Firani let out a sound that was partial hiss and partial snarl, as if he couldn't believe that it was being held off by a puny little thing like Elleth. She jumped backwards, legs folding until her ankles brushed the bottom of her gluteus, as a burst of flame liquefied the sand that had been under her. The breath attack cut off seconds after she'd dodged it, further leading her to believe that the dragon before her was young still. Hot headed too.
It rushed her long before she'd landed, but her sword was ready and the dragon ended up killing itself, not being able to stop it's momentum in time. Really all it had to do was reach out with one clawed paw and the battle would have been extended. Instead she was forced to let go of her sword and do a bit of creative dodging as the death flames consumed the body.
Huffing Elleth collected both her sword and the soul orb and turned around. She wasn't going to get anything done if she kept getting jumped by immature dragons.
