The spoted cheetah stretched yawning deep. Last night she had found a great spot to spend the night. She’d taking a quick swim and then found a little cave downstream to crawl into and call home. Misto wasn’t one to sleep out in the open she figured a lady couldn’t be too careful.

Now that the sun was peaking on the horizon it was time to move and find something else. She had been on her own for as long as she could remember and she didn’t see a reason to change that now, she was self sufficient she didn’t need to have others around to care for her.

Perili was frowning that the sun was coming up the darkly colored leopardess preferred the night life, her dark pelt allowed for her to blend into the dark well, with only her eyes giving her away most of the time. It was almost as if her soul was leaking from her eyes.

She wondered if she could find a good place to hunker down for the day, she obviously didn’t want to sleep out in the open. During the day many other animals would be on the move and she didn’t want to be in the open at all.

Moving towards the stream that she had taking a dip in last night she figured it would be a good place to start her day. With another swim and a quick drink of water. You didn’t always know where your next drink of water was going to be so Misto tried to get her fill of water when she could.

The cheetah was light on her feet and made a quick walk to streams edge, she was taking a look around to make sure no one threatening in the area before she came out into the open.

Perili saw the spotted cheetah from her perch she had taken in a tree. Looking down she watched as she came out of a cave and moved towards the water in the area. Perili smiled the cave that the other female had come out of would be the perfect place for her to sleep. She had of course considered just sleeping in her tree, but she would prefer a cave where she could sleep in darkness instead of a tree where she would have to deal with the sun beating down on her dark pelt.

She lept from the tree and made a move to follow the cheetah female, she wanted her cave but she would ask before she just slinked into it, as far as she knew that was the cheetah’s permanent home and who know what she had in side of it. Perili didn’t want to walk in and find a litter of sleeping cubs. From the limited experience she had with cubs she found that mothers could be very protective of her cubs and Perili wanted no part of that.

Misto had made it to the waters edge and was wading in when she heard the rustle of trees. She turned to look over her shoulder to see if someone was coming her way. Thats when she saw the leopardess leap from the tree onto the ground. Misto’s muscles tensed, she was worried about someone coming her way that may be looking for a fight. She held her breath as the cheetah came her way.

She turned her body so that she was facing the leopardess instead of having her back turned to her. She wasn’t sure that the leopardess would mean any harm but she also wasn’t going to sit with her back turned to someone.

Perili saw the change in the cheetah’s body language change and tense. She paused for a moment before heading towards the other female, she didn’t want a fight but she did really want the cave. She moved slowly towards the other female and was taking care to not look overly threatening of course most took one look at her and thought that she was there to take out their soul.

“Good morning” she greeted making sure that he voice was soft and non-threatening, “I saw you come from that cave is it yours?” she asked.

Misto relaxed a little when the female spoke to her, she had learned from experience that if someone spoke to her they likely weren’t going to attack her, unless of course the words they spoke were I am going to attack you, or some such thing.

When the dark leopardess with the glowing eyes asked her about the cave Misto eyes drifted in the direction of the cave. “The cave? No its not mine” she said her voice filled with confussion, why would the leopardess thing the cave belong to her. “I just spent the night there.” she answered with a nod of her head.

Perili could see the confusion on the cheetah’s face but she didn’t understand what was so confusing. She was use to others looking at her with strange expressions and confusion. She wasn’t too worried about it, as long as she could get what she needed from them.

“Good its not yours than there would be no reason for me not to sleep there for the day?” she said. She couldn’t imagine anyone telling her now they were too fearful of her eyes sucking out their souls. Her eyes of course did not have that power but if others were going to assume that they did than she was going to take whatever advantages she could get from them. Her appearance had caused her a life of being alone so when it did something good for her she was happening.

Misto looked at her with blank eyes. “Yes you could sleep there, I found it very comfortable for the night.” Misto wasn’t use to hearing of creatures that slept all day, though of course she knew that they existed she couldn’t image missing out on the sun and the warmth you just had to make sure that you had enough fluids is all.

“Its all yours” she said a smile on her face, she found the leopardess to be strange but there was no reason to be rude to her.

Perili gave a quick nod before turning and heading towards the cave, having found the information she needed she saw no reason to continue a strained interaction any longer. “Thank you” she called over her shoulder. She didn’t want to be rude after all. With that Perili made her way into the cave happily surrounded by the darkness again.
