At the art museum most of the art was donated from wealthy patrons or bought at auctions from various parts of the world. Every once and a while there are areas cleared out for different galleries set up that are dedicated to certain themes or specific artist to be held for a limited time. Though, the art museum holds thousands of art works that are stored in the basements where it is open every now and then to allow the public to watch conservators work on paintings too keep it clean. Due to not having enough space, these artworks are also often rotated in and out of the different galleries monthly, so you might see something new the next time you drop by. There is also a big open room on the seventh floor to be rented as an auction space as well as a personalized art gallery. The space can be rented for as long as a month.
