Oran yawned as he walked down the street. He was alone as usual. It was something he had grown accustomed too after the experiment. Most people gave him a wide berth which was expected, he supposed, given that half of his throat was missing and perpetually bleeding slowly. He had once hoped to be praised for his work, but that was soon realized to be false the night it happened. So many had died that day.

Swish, swish, swish was the sound her skirts made as she walked along, her feather adorned top hat hung down over one eye as the other violet hued orb peered out.
She glanced around curiously, a faint smile seemed to be hinting at the corners of her mouth but didnt really show yet. Wings rested snugly against her back as she continued down the street.
She noticed another heading towards her, her ears perked forward as she continued, noting how the others seemed to give him a wide birth, she only decided to keep on her due path, she saw no reason to change her direction.

Oran tilted his head curiously seeing that there was one who did no turn or go around him as others did. What made this even more interesting was that their attire suggested someone well-to-do. Well at least someone here has a backbone, he thought smiling lightly as they neared one another. "Good evening, Miss," he greeted her giving a courteous nod.

Lady Cromwell dipped her head in return as she finally smiled softly, lifting her head more so that her face wasnt so hidden behind the brim of her hat.
"Good evening Sir." She replied with a kind smile.
Her gaze traveled over him in a curious fashion, but she found nothing wrong with him that would cause the others to treat him with such disgrace.
"Its a beautiful evening don't you think?" She said casting a defying eye to those who stared. "Im Lady Amarantha Cromwell, but by all means please call me Amarantha."

Oran smiled as she stopped and addressed him. This instance of interaction was very refreshing. "It is a lovely evening Amarantha." It brought a grin to his face seeing how she looked at those passing. The vixen had a strong will. He paused not sure whether or not to say his full name and potentially ruin this moment, but in the end he was a scientist and he had to test it to see if she was different. "My name is Dr. Oran East, though you may call me Oran if you like. It's nice to meet you."

Her ears twitched at his name, but nothing about her expression changed, she still smiled kindly. "Oran, it is a pleasure." She beamed him a sweet smile.
"Would you care to take a stroll?" She asked with a tilt of her head. "I was on my way to the water front for a nice little star gazing trip."

Oran smiled at her reaction and partially because her smile was infectious. "That sounds great, it will be nice to have some company for a while." He moved to walk next to her towards the water front, "So do you often stare at the stars?"

"Ah yes, it seems like a lovely evening for company." She smiled once more as she took her place beside him, comfortably strolling along. "I try and treat myself to it now and again, though I tend to get buried in my books at the bookstore." She shook her head with a playful laugh.

"Running a bookstore seems like a peaceful occupation. I take it that you enjoy your work then?"

She nodded, the feathers of her hat bobbing gently. "I enjoy a good book now and then, and you can learn so many very interesting things." She shrugged her shoulders care freely. "Plus, when you cant get away...you can still steal an hour or two to yourself with a good book." She laughed lightly. "Always pro-book it seems."

"There is nothing wrong with enjoying books. You are very right to have a love of them. Knowledge is a very important thing to have after all." He smiled and shook his head, "Though some things can't be learned by books."

"Ive yet to hear a truer statement." She said with a nod of her head. "Plus you cannot hide in a book all your life either." She had been guilty of that to many a times. "Life experiences and lessons cannot be learned within the pages of a book, nor the joys and sorrows of life."

Oran nodded and smiled as they reached the water front, "Yet another very true statement..." He turned his head up to look at the night sky. "This is a really good spot for stargazing."

"She gazed upwards, the lights and congestion from the city and homes of others were no longer blocking out the beauty of the night sky, she smiled up at the stars, the gentle sound of the water lapping at the shore was the perfect background music.
"Once more, you are very correct." She laughed as she removed her hat and shook her curls free. "You seem to be rather on point." She teased playfully.
