As any proper Guard would Belial was up well before the sunset and already on his way to his patrol route. During the time between waking up and wandering to his route is when the large brute was able to simply enjoy the life he had come to know. It was well on it's way to becoming something wonderful! Witha King in place that did what needed to be done he was sure the rest of the pride could be at ease and yet he was met with many uneasy looks. It wasn't like he had kept it a secret about his feelings for their current leader.
During such times of receiving any form of look he kept walking, there was no reason to create commotion within the pride, should any choose to follow him to the borders that would be another story.
However, today seemed like it would be a quiet day, he wasn't greeted with any opposer, at least not yet.

 She hadn't had any word of a rogue joining so the shaman wouldn't need her to help. Which in the end meant that she was back to normal guard duties. Rogue guard really only was occasionally. Nkosazana sighed to herself. She was going on patrol tonight with a lion she wasn't overly familiar with. The lioness stretched herself out then went to wait as the sun went down. As the time for the patrol drew closer she began looking for the lion. If he didn't show up soon, she'd leave to do the patrol on her own.A bird watched the lioness. He was going along as he usually did during patrols. Jiang would be the eyes in the sky, so to speak. He could see much further than the lions on the ground and then report back if he noticed anything of interest. "How much longer are you going to wait?" In truth he didn't much care for flying at night, but he really wasn't given a choice. He had agreed to help, so he was here.

Time was moving faster than the lion had expected, once he reached the border patrol his current partner was already there with an impatient looking feathered friend. "Good evening, you must be Nko." Belial, was polite. He was also quite surprised to see the others still waiting here for him, he was sure if it had been anyone else they likely would have left.
"I apologize for my lack of respect for time, my journey here was longer than expected." His ideals were twisted, but his appreciation for the job was much larger. Once given a duty he respected it about as much as he respected Shangyue, which was quite a bit.
"Shall we get started?"
He inquired slowly, knowing the feathered companion may have a retort.

She was just about to reply when the subject in question showed up. Nko looked him up and down, then flicked her tail. He looked like a strong lion that could handle himself. "I am. Yes do keep better track of it next time. If your late again, I won't wait for you." She wondered if he was well worth the bother. Was he high class or lower class? A high class could still take the position of guard if they really wanted to, but one had to be at least middle class to take the position.
The female rose to her feet with a shrug of her shoulder. "Yes, we're already behind and should make up the time." They weren't that far behind really. Maybe she was just impatient to get back to the pride and mingle with those who were really worthy. Nko set out among the familiar terrain.
Jiang clicked his beak as the lion appeared. Talk about timing. He fixed one of his beady eyes on the lion. At least the male apologized for holding them up for a couple of minutes. "I'm Jiang," he introduced himself. "I would suggest a shorter journey next time." Or stop lolligaging, the bird thought to himself. Anyhow they were together now and ready to go. When Nko got to her feet, he took to the skies. This night time shift was much harder on the birds of the pride than the lions. It was natural for them to sleep at night and awake during the day. Jiang would go to bed as soon as they got home.
