Riley managed to feel a little proud of himself! He'd gone as his parents had requested, and delivered the assistance aid they'd sent him with. Of course, once he'd gotten there, he'd had to run and the package had been lost underfoot of the crowd. Still, he'd survived!
Though, speaking of lost...
Riley had gone with Hazan to that camp and had gotten a meal and a safe place to sleep. Now, he was trying to get back home, but... he was lost. Leaving from the camp, he'd thought that road would connect to the road leading home at some point, but that had been many days ago, and nothing was familiar.
When he reached yet another unfamiliar intersection, Riley groaned and dropped in the middle of the road. Sure, his family wouldn't miss him, but his boy would be worried! Likewise, he was worried about his boy! He wanted to get home! Frustrated tears began to well up, and he dropped his head onto his knees. What would he do now?

Landorous had been the first of the Kami trio to calm, and with him went the quieting of the Earth. He aided in stopping the quakes and shudders as his own emotions riled down to a confused state. He was an old soul, and sometimes lost track of the worries of the young. Looking about him at the area, at all of the destruction he had caused....it was enough for him to feel shame.
Tentatively he walked down to the camp in his Therian form. There weren't as many gathered there now, since it was a few days after, but he still felt the need to apologize. What would he say, to creatures that would never understand him? His shrine was being rebuilt, so surely he should stay to oversee the repairs, but there was still so much more to be done.
Passing a crossroads, he stopped to look over. Eyes widened with surprise, he stopped his paws to get a good look at the Poke'boy. He aided us...he was there. And now he was...crying? Furrowing his brow, Landorus stepped over to the boy.
"Riolu...child...why are you upset? You have done a great deed by aiding myself and my brethren. You should be pleased."

Busy wishing he was home in bed, or maybe in the bathtub, Riley practically flew off the ground when the gentle voice reached his ears. He hadn't heard anyone approaching, and when he saw who it was in front of him... Of the great gods, Landorous!
Riley felt his heart thudding with the intensity before him. The mighty pokemon was only standing there, but the large male radiated power. Such presence! Yet, such a kind expression and voice. The colors around the god were what helped Riley relax the most. Calm colors... nothing like the bright, angry colors during the rampage.
A great deed? The great Landorous really thought he had helped them? Riley blinked and shook his head. "I... I'm glad I helped. ....I'm lost though," he murmured, cheeks flushed brightly. A god was praising him... Goodness, he felt like he could faint! If only his father could have heard this!

There was a nervousness about this child that made Landorous' heart ache. He wished to sit the boy upright, show him the right way, and have him walk into the new dawn a stronger man. However, he knew youth to be needing of a softer touch than that. It fell to him, and he owed the Riolu that much.
"Lost?" Shaking his head, he moved to step closer, the tufts around his legs moving with the breeze. The boys cheeks were red, so perhaps he was ill? That certainly would explain why he was so upset. "Would you be able to find your home from the skies? Walking in the woods like this is only going to hinder you."
If he took him just above the trees perhaps he would be able to at least see the road? Or a path? "I could take you back to the human camp, too. They may be able to help you more than I."

Riley did his best to not gawk as the powerful pokemon moved closer. Being so opposite to the god, he felt a strange mix of being afraid of the large presence, and yet soothed by it as well.
From- From the skies?! His eyes lifted to look up, and he slowly shook his head. "I've.. never looked for home from up there." Go that high? No way! His heart would surely burst then! "If you could point me back to the camp, that could work." His blush deepened. Oh, how he wished the others would believe him about this. "I don't want to waste your time, showing me everywhere."

Landorus snorted, and shook his head. "Child, if I had thought you were a waste of my time I would have left you." It may have sounded harsh, but this was something he wanted to do, not something he felt necessarily obligated to do.
"This way." He moved past Riley down a little embankment, his tail swaying to a bounce behind him. Heavy paws walked to a stop so that he could turn his head around, and look at the Riolu. "My apology earlier was no...sufficent." Landorus shook his head. "No, it wasn't strong enough. I've done my damage here, and while I don't expect the others to talk with the members of the camp I feel that I must. If I wish to help these people I should get to know them, so, I'm on my way to the camp anyway."
He grinned. "You could act as my assistant." At least that way the boy would save face around his peers when he came back with tears in his eyes.

Riley flinched and quickly nodded his head. "O-o-of course you would! I just- I- er...." Well, he'd meant to imply that he was a waste of time, but, if even Landorous thought he was worth walking back to camp...
Scurrying to catching up to the god's longer strides, his expression widened with surprise, and then lit up with utter delight. Assistant? He could be an assistant?! "Thank you! I'll try to do whatever you need! However long you need!" he chirped excitedly. Heck with his family! Whether or not they believed him, he got to be a god's assistant! no matter how short a time it might last, he would relish this opportunity! And.. just getting another chance to help... that alone was worth the stars to him.

"Think nothing of it. I need someone to speak on my behalf in front of the others. Someone they can trust." Landorus had no doubt that he could sway the people to his word, but there might be issues if some of them had lost valuable crops or homes because of his actions. Or Giovanni's. He growled, clenching his claws in the dirt. He would make that arrogant man pay!
"Oh...I..." Looking back at the boy, Landorus couldn't break his new found joy. The child looked like he needed the boost, and if he told him this would likely be the only time he needed him, even if for a short amount of time, it might do more damage. So he just awkwardly smiled, and kept walking.
"Do you have a name, Riolu child?"

Too busy being excited about being assistant for even a second of the god's time, he was almost startled again when he got asked about his name. The god wanted to know his name?! "It.. It's Riley."
A few humans were walking toward them, pokeballs lining their belts. When they saw Landorous coming at them, they moved well to the side of the road in awe. Riley started to hang back shyly, but paused. THE Landorous was showing him the way back to the camp! He raised his chin a little, and picked up his pace again to keep up. It didn't last long though, and soon enough his chin was dropping bashfully. "Everyone's really happy you're feeling better," he commented softly, knowing that a silent walk would make him shrink back even more in the shadow of the great pokemon. Not by fault of the god! It was just what Riley did. "Do you have what you need to get your shrine fixed up?"

Landorus saw the humans, trainers it seemed, and bowed his head to them for the briefest of moments before walking nobly past them. When he looked over his shoulder to the young Riley he couldn't help, but to smirk. Reactions like that were expected from trainers, especially those that had seen his power at work, but Riley on the other hand was another matter entirely.
He walked on from there, keeping his pace brisk, but casual so that Riley wouldn't have too much trouble keeping up. "I'm sure they are happier to know that the world isn't ending." The humans didn't care about him or his fellow Kami; they only cared about what they could get in the end. It had been Poke'mon and Poke'human that had saved him, in the end, when the humans wanted to tear him down.
"...I am..not sure. It will be rebuilt in time, and so long as there are those that wish to see it grow I have nothing to worry over." Pausing, he turned back to look at Riley again, "Tell me, why is it that you came to aid us?"

Glowing ears twitching, his brow knit slightly. Surely it hadn't been only the desire to save their homes! What about for the sake of the gods? Perhaps that was simply his naivety showing through, but he liked to think so.
He pondered the other's words a moment before smiling and nodded. "There were lots over there trying to help! You'll have it fixed soon!" he replied optimistically. With so many having been at the shrine and the camp when he'd been there, he was sure things would move quickly!
When his own intentions were questioned, his cheeks heated into a dark purple and he ducked his head with embarrassment. It would be best to be honest with the god, but he would surely be cast aside now. Forget about being an assistant! "My parents made me do it. They didn't want to go since it was so dangerous, so they sent me. They're not part human like I am." Making excuses for his parents and their selfish behavior, he ducked his head even further, gaze locked on his feet as one hand tugged on his braid nervously. "I did want to help, really, but I didn't know how to without them pushing me to, and.... you and the other gods were really scary..."

He wished he had half of the childs enthusiasm and assurance. The truth of it was that Landorus wasn't sure that he himself wanted the shrine fixed anymore. It was only a symbol of the life that had forgotten him, and he had begun to think that perhaps he was better off leaving it in the past.
Landorus wasn't sure what he had expected. He met the news with a terse smile, trying to be supportive for the childs sake, but truly pondering now. How many had actually come to help that wanted to? "That must be difficult for you, being as you are around your family. You're a brave boy for staying with them." He imagined that if the same had happened to him he would have fled instead of losing face.
His paw steps slowed just outside of the camp until he was closer to Riley. When he felt that the distance was just short enough that he could raise the boys face with a paw under the chin, he did so. "You stayed when things were at their worst, without your parents pushing you. That shows a strong heart. You could have ran and told them lies, but you didn't. I am very proud of you for staying to help us as you did. Others would not have been so brave, least of all parents who would send their child into dangerous situations."
It burned him. He would have words with them, should they be bold enough to be waiting at the camp for the child.

Brave for staying with his family? ..Where else would he have gone? It was to scary to think about going someplace else and starting over. At home, despite being an outcast in his own family, he had security. Outside of home was either the terrifying unknown, or the few friends that he didn't feel right burdening by asking for help.
His ears perked as the sounds of the camp grew, finding that he felt a little better. Now he could start over, and maybe get something else to eat before trying to get home again!
Of course, fear crashed over him when that large paw reached out, making him blink in surprise from the gentle touch. His eyes widened as Masahiko spoke, the words tugging at the self-confidence that was buried so far under the doubts and fears... "Thank you," he whispered, staring up at the pokemon in awe. If a god thought he was brave... Maybe he really was!
Yet, old habits died hard, and the self-confidence boost was suppressed by doubts once again. He ducked his head bashfully, feeling silly for having felt proud of himself. "I'm.. gonna get something to eat before trying to go home again. .....I'm glad you're feeling better.. and.. thank you for helping me." He edged away from Masahiko, his eyes glancing around only briefly before dropping again. There was no chance his parents would be waiting for him here. While he would have loved hanging out with the large pokemon longer, he wanted to go before Masahiko realized what a burden he was, for surely that would be a realization soon to come.

It felt more than odd to be in the prescence of so many humans, but the Poke'mon...he felt in awe of them. The bond they showed by growing closer to their trainers and friends, as if to protect them from the great Landorus they sensed coming was touching.
Still, it was odd to see a child so quiet and meek. It didn't sit right with Landorus, but there wasn't much he could do, since this was not his own spawn. "You're very welcome," he said evenly, dipping his head in a slight bow. "You may...come back to the shrine, should you wish. If you have need of me, I will come."
He wasn't sure why he made the proclamation, or why he turned away from the camp. The Landorus had made his piece with he world, and through the gentle heart of the Riolu child he had seen other truths in the world. He didn't need to talk to the others; with his answers, he took to the skies, bounding away from his lands into the great unknown.
