Jagger let out a pained cry as he ran through the forest like a buffalo whom had no intention of stopping until he was as good as dead. For all the stallion knew that could be his best option when it came to winning the losing battle going on in his head. He had no idea why this was happening to him, or why, but he did know that if did not find a solution then he would be as good as gone. He would have to say good-bye to his family, his dreams, and the self that he once knew himself as.

A war raged on in his mind as he did his best to keep his sight on the buck that ran a few feet ahead of him. As adrenaline pumped through him his Kalona blood fought with his Cerynei blood. Oh, his Kalona blood ran strong through him in his appearance and mentality, which did cause a stir within his family, whom at the time of his birth still held some negative beliefs about Kalona. He looked a Kalona. He ate like a Kalona. And he would be lying if he said he did not think like a Kalona.

For some time he did his best to fit in with him family. Jagger tried to keep his meat eating to a minimum and vary his diet, but as he grew older he could not ignore what his stomach wanted, which was not an herbivore diet. He also did his best to act friendly and keep his temperament in check, but he could not deny that he just enjoyed some things others would call cruel.
He enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed hearing about other’s problems for the pure fact that he enjoyed the pain others go through. Jagger would like to say that his love is pure and the words he gives to others are pure, but that would also be a lie. Truly, he did not give a damn, nor would he ever give a damn about others unless something was in it for him.

Maybe he is just an a*****e. Maybe he is working his way to being a kind of sociopath. He didn’t know, nor did he really care at this point.

Many things had changed since Schizoid first entered the forest with his twin brother. He had found a twisted form of leave with a protector of the Ghost herd, which his brother did not really understand, but that was his brother’s problem. The mare named Devanira had come and gone, which Schizoid was thankful for. He had to admit playing the part of the mare’s pet was amusing during the start, but he slowly grew annoyed with her and showed whom he truly was. And the stallion known as Wendigo, well he was still around doing his own thing. If Schizoid had to guess he would say that something within the mutant gryph had snapped.

“Well well…” Schiz said as he watched a flash of blue flash in the distance. From what he saw he guessed that it was one of the children that belonged to the weird kalona within the Ghost herd. The kalona could not remember the weird one’s name, which did not bother him in the least. It wasn’t as if he spent a lot of time with the herd since Gabriel insisted on keeping him at bay, even with their odd relationship. If he had to guess he would think that the Uni-Kirin was in denial, or something dark was making its way towards the herd. But then again the family was no one that had a lot of good luck in the first place.

Why the heck was he even thinking about the family in the first place? They did not matter to him any more than a bat mattered to a jellyfish.

“So where are you going?” Schizoid whispered to himself as he continued to follow Jagger’s path. “Do you even know what you are, or are you playing a game you don’t understand. A wolf raised by rabbits should not wander the woods.”

The kalona laughed to himself, his ears perking at the sound of panic.

“Well I guess it’s more fun for the actual wolves.”

He was so busy trying to escape his own mind that he did not see the ditch that sat ahead of him as he winded in and out of the giant soldiers of bark and leaves. Well, at least he knew now, even if the introduction was anything but pleasant. At least now he could have a moment of peace even if it came at a price.

Pain radiated through Jagger’s body as his vision turned into a pool of darkness. His head buzzed as if a bunch of angry wasps were stuck in his head. His legs lay tangled and screamed for him to move so they could have some amount of comfort. His wings, well thankfully they didn’t seem too angry at him with them being nothing more than bone.

Grunting, Jagger made an attempt to untangle himself and get back on his feet only to stumble back onto the ground. He cursed his distracted mind for getting himself into such a situation, and the cursing only get worse when he picked up on the sound of someone or something approaching the ditch.
Could it be someone who is willing to help it out, or is he about to meet his end? What kind of Kalona would he be if he allowed himself to find his end in the hooves of another?

No. No he should not think such things. He’s a Kalona, but that does not mean he has to act upon the breed’s stereotype. He has family that loves and cares for him. His mother raised him with stern but gentle words. His father taught him survival by needs, not wants.
Then why…

Jagger’s thoughts were cut off by the appearance of a figure that was strange but familiar.

‘Is that the Kalona Gabriel is sometimes seen with? Oh God…’

"Out of everyone that could possibly find me..."

“Well, what do we have here?” Schizoid questioned while approaching the mutant. “It looks like someone has found himself in a bit of trouble.”
The stallion mentally chuckled to himself when he saw the look of anger on Jagger’s face. It didn’t bother him in any way since he was used to such reactions, especially from those within the Ghost herd.

“Aw, come on now, boy. There is no need to look at me with such judgment and discontent. And here I thought we could possibly be friends for life, or take on some other type of idiotic title. I mean, didn’t you family ever tell you not to judge others by appearance?”

Schizoid tried his best not to paint himself with a look of amusement. It was clear Jagger didn’t want to be anywhere near him, but it wasn’t as if he had much of a choice at the moment. Plus, he had no plans to bring any immediate harm to the younger stallion. Rough him up? Maybe. Use him as a toy of amusement? Sure. He wouldn’t mind that. But he wasn’t going to kill him or anything. At least he wouldn’t do so without reason, for a choice few.

“So,” the stallion slowly settled to the ground, his eyes still stuck on the pile of blue. “seeing as it’s not my fault you chose to act like an idiot and fall in a ditch, do you want help, or would you prefer to take the risk and be stuck there?”
