Hobbies: xxx ◆ Sailing - Sailing runs in his family, they used to do it competitively before moving to Celeste. They brought Voyager with them, and although she's not used in competitions anymore, Jason still pushes her to her limit around Lake Meringue. Occasionally he'll load her up and take her out to the ocean, but for the most part he stays in the calmer waters at the lake. If it's a particularly bad day, and he mentions something about sailing, then it's just his way of letting go of anger or stress. It may not be the smartest thing ever, but it really helps.
xxx ◆ Journalism - This is what jason wants to do for a living, one day he would love to have his own book, but he has several steps to run through first. What started out as a random class in High School, turned into what he wanted to do for the rest of his lief, from High School newspapers to a globally published novel.
xxx ◆ Photography - Sorta goes hand in hand with his Journalism. Although, Photography actually came first. He found his Grandmother's old camera in the attic, and he's been obsessed with it since. He's got several cameras, from small digital camera, to disposable, to his Grandma's huge camera, to his own
Sony SLR Camera. Typically he doesn't lug his huge Sony around, his can usually be found with a small digital camera. But, needless to say his room is littered with photos.
xxx ◆ Guitar - His guitar is simply a side hobby, he picked up up as a compromise with his mother. She wanted him to learn something a little more sophisticated, like the violin or the piano. So, instead Jason promised her he'd learn the guitar. That was he at least had some musical talent, but it didn't have to be something 'fantastic'. But, just because he was told to learn an instrument, doesn't mean he doesn't try. He actually enjoys playing
Betsy in his free time, and he's not half bad, if he wanted to have a musical career with some hard work he might be able to pull it off.
Virtues: xxx ☑ Amiable - You'll find that Jason is very hard not to like, unless you the type of person that goes around hating everything. And trust me, Jason understands that not everyone gets along, but for the most part he tries to never judge a book by its cover. he's always been a fairly easy guy for anyone to get along with, and even in High School he was known for having friends in every clique. He's an excellent people person, which is obviously a very good thing if he wants to be a journalist. Often, the first words out of his mouth to any person, whether he's known them for years or their complete strangers, is a compliment. It's not that he's a suck up or anything, he just knows what a good compliment can do for a person. Check out his cell phone, and you'll see his was bucket loads of friends, although he honestly has only a few close friends that he'll actually share and personal information with. But, that doesn't keep people from inviting him to hang out, there's a party almost every night, but whether or not Jason shows up, depends on if their could be a story there.
xxx ☑ Great Listener - Again, Jason has to be a good listener. He doesn't just pay attention to the words, but the tones and he always searches for any hidden meanings behind them. He knows how to get a scoop on a story without actually having it told to him word for word. That's not to say he aims to make everything everyone tells him into some story in a newspaper. If you feel like you need someone to confide in Jason knows how to put his personal life above his work life. He would never think of hurting someone like that. Some people might notice that while they're talking to him, he may be looking around the room, or looking somewhere other then at their eyes. (No, he doesn't stare at boobs, unless they're just out in the open for anyone to see!) He's gotten called out on this before, some people really don't like when they don't have eye contact, but if your words were important enough for him to remember, he'll repeat exactly what you said while he was looking around the room.
xxx ☑ Optimistic - There is very little that can deter this guy's perpetual good mood. That's not to say he doesn't have his bad days, trust me when he does let something get to him he can agonize over it for days. But, for the most part he can find the brightest bit of light in the deepest closet. Even if it's not obvious right away, he can turn a dim situation around one way or another. he really can't stand when people just can't seem to find a positive twist to something. Sure, people might have their problems, but why do they just torture themselves with these problems instead of fixing them! There's always room to grow, and unless you let yourself grow then I guess you're be stuck in the bottom of that closet forever. Jason on the other hand, always has he hand on the door.
Flaws: xxx ☒ Unreliable - Jason may be a dependable person when he's with you, he'll listen to anything you have to say and stick with you so long as that's what you want. But, if he's made an appointment with someone, and somewhere during the day he's gotten caught up in some interesting work, he's gone to the rest of the world. When it comes to his hobbies, or his work, if he's enjoying himself he's happy to stay exactly where he is. It's because of this that he has to reschedule almost all of his Dentist, Doctor, etc. appointments, and he often warns people that he can be late. Usually he's not late for interviews, when it comes to his Journalism, but occasionally he cane get caught up in sailing, or a new musical rift that he can completely forget any previous appointments. He's attempted keeping a day planner, but it's usually too full, or he completely forgets about it. So, he's hopeless.
xxx ☒ Restless - Jason hates the though of ever being lazy. If he finds he's sitting at home, doing nothing, he immediately has to fix his situation. He'll waste his time cleaning his room, or rearranging everything on their shelves, organizing his notebook, playing his guitar, or if the whether is nice, breaking out Voyager (his sailboat) on Lake Meringue. He might call up one of his few friends to hang out, but usually if he was sitting around at home being lazy, then it's because no one wanted to hang out that day. No, Jason isn't fidgety, unless he;s in a particularly boring class but he has to be there. In that class, don't sit next to him (or around him period) unless you can stand the sounds of licking pens, chewing gum, and doodling!
xxx ☒ Private - Jason may be a social butterfly, but he's not about to reveal something about his personal life any time soon. Only a select few of his close friends know of his family life and his goals in life. He keeps his private life, social life, and family life all separate. A few people have called him out for this in the past, but once you point out to him that he's not really saying anything about himself, that's when he turns around and walks away. He just, doesn't want every single person he knows, knowing what's up with his life. If he feels there's something about him you need to know, then you'll know. Till then, don't ask. That's the fastest way to push him away.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: A deep blue, the kind any girl would go crazy over. And most of the time, he really wishes he had his mother's simple brown eyes.
Hair: A fairly effortless
style. Always carelessly flung to one side of his head, so his bangs will stay out of his face. He's more of a dirty blonde than blonde or brunette.
Face: Lean. Fairy natural looking compared to the rest of his lean body. he tends to look older than his age, he's never mistaken for someone younger.
Clothes: A deep blue, the kind any girl would go crazy over. And most of the time, he really wishes he had his mother's simple brown eyes.
Fashion: Jason isn't a huge fashion freak, and his usual style is layered. He usually wear a simple short sleeved shirt, usually just one color, and over that some collared short with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows (again usually something simple, like stripes or plaid). Sometimes a hoddie instead, depending on how cold it is outside. He loves a good pair of worn out jeans just as much as the next guy, and he loves to wear converse, but for the sanity of his feet he often wears comfortable sneakers.
