"So help me god, you worthless bird, when I find you, you are going to served for dinner!" Sawyer bellowed from where he searched, looking under every bush and in every tree. (Yes, tree.) His pet had never disappeared for so long at one time, and he hated to say he actually felt concerned for his brown little chicken.

The days had been rather calming for the mare, which she greatly appreciated. After running into a certain kalona and nearly being dragged into slavery she accepted moments of calm and cautiousness. From her perch in a sturdy tree Mimiteh watched as creatures scampered along the ground, or rather she watched as a very loud stallion caused chaos with his yelling and anger. “Are you looking for something in particular, sir?”

Sawyer, taken off guard, jumped at the voice from above. Blinking past the rays of run that broke through the canopy, he could make out... well something in the trees. It sounded like a mare but he'd never seen one look so bird like. "Er, sorry... to disturb you." He looked abashed, and nervous, glancing around. He hoped Milly would appear out of thin air but none such luck. Well... not totally. He caught sight of a brown bush higher above the creature in the tree that spoke. It couldn't be...
"Acccctually..." He looked apologetic, but before he could say more, Milly the chicken with a death wish dive bombed straight toward the bird in the tree, with a battle cry of "BUCOCK!"

Being what she was, Mimi was used to others looking at her with confusion and surprise. Her kind weren't exactly well known through the land, and of those who did know about the harpies some looked at her kind with anger and or fear. At least he wasn't running off or accusing her of anything.
"Actually, what?"
Before she could even wait for an answer something hit like a rock to the head. "What in the world!?" Without even thinking she quickly jumped from her spot on the branch and dived toward the ground. "What is that!? What did I do!?"

Sawyer took several steps back, eyes wide. "Sorry, sorry! I didn't do it, I promise!" He waited for the chicken to follow suit, crashing to the earth in a brown heap that didn't even seem to bounce. "Milly!" Sawyer said harshly, moving to kick the bird so that it faced upward. "What do you think you're doing, tackling random women, you idiot!" If Sawyer could properly shake the bird, he would, but with out proper gripping tools he settled for nudging her roughly with his hoof, as if she could answer him back.

Mimiteh quickly strumbled away from the wrathful ball of feathers. A chicken? A CHICKEN!? She was attacked by such a thing!? Never in her life had she been attacked in such a manner, nor did she ever want to be a victim of chicken violence again. She didn't even know the flightless floofballs could climb trees or attack in such a manner! Most chickens the mare came across were rather docile and silly.
'Maybe that is no normal chicken.' she thought to herself while staring at the pair. 'Maybe it's a chicken who doesn't even know it's a chicken. Maybe it thinks it's a dog or a kalona...'
Shaking her head, Mimiteh cleared her throat while keeping the distance between them. "So, y-you know that chicken? May I ask what I did to earn such anger from her? I swear she wasn't there when I made my perch..."
'Or was she...'

Sawyer flattened his ears, feeling even the more apologetic. "Yeaaaa, I unfortunately know this no good hunk of feathers, ma'am I'm sorry." Sawyer was sure this was a mare, now that she wasn't perched up in the tree like a giant eagle. "Are you alright, miss?" He turned to her, giving her the once over to see if the stupid pet of his did any visible damage. "Other than some ole ruffled feathers, you look to be fine and dandy." He grinned a little, in a friendly way.
"I haven' a clue how she made her way up there. She's been known to climb trees but never that high up. I think she's attracted to ya because you look... well.. so much like a bird, miss." He glanced away, hoping to not be offensive. "Might be why she follows me around, with my brown feathers 'n all."

Mimiteh took a few tentative steps forward once she was sure they pair would do no harm. It was then that she took a moment to get a better look at the stallion. He really did look related to a bird, but not as much as herself. Really, if it wasn’t for the feathers on his hide one could simply mistake the feathers in his hair for simple decoration. Still, part of her did want to give one of those feathers a good tug to see if they really were attached to his head. “Right, if your friend there isn’t going to go charging at me again then I guess I can take her attraction as a compliment of sort.” Part of her still denied that fact that a chicken was capable of chasing her out of a tree. If her uncle and brothers ever found out she would never hear the end of it. Though, she never really heard the end of the fact that her father mated with an ex-flock member. “So,” the mare started while taking a few quick steps forward, “May I ask your name, or will that have to wait until I get another surprise attack from another one of your feathered friends?”

Sawyer flattened his ears again, murmuring apologies all the while Milly rose from the dead, facing her unblinking stare on the feathery mare. Clucking quietly, she picked her way back over to Mimi, staring up in silence. "I'm Sawyer... and my feathery friend is Milly." He watched his bird, about to reach a leg out and drag her back over but decided to see what she would do now. He was curious if she "attacked" the mare, or simply wanted to be closer? Grinning after a moment of Milly's quiet stares, he continued. "And you are?"

The mare carefully watched as Milly approached her in silence. Was the silence a good sign or a bad one? She didn’t know, but she hoped the lack of lowed clucking and flying feathers was a sign of friendly behavior. Carefully, she raised one of her large clawed feet and gently scratched the top of the chicken’s head.
“It is nice to meet you, Sawyer, and Milly, even if it is in this manner. But I guess everyone needs a bit of excitement in their life.”
Setting her foot back down, she flexed her wings a bit before turning her attention back to the stallion, smile still on her face.
“My name is Mimiteh, but you may call me Mimi if you prefer.”

Milly would have purred if it were possible with her vocal chords. Instead the bird waddled around Mimi and flapped her wings to settle on her back, issuing laughter from Sawyer. "I'd say she likes you, Miss Mimi." He pawed the earth in his chortling, and grinned at Mimiteh. "Its pleasure, ma'ma. I apologize for her earlier behavior. I really think it was 'cause you reminded her of someone prolly. We're new here; just travelin'."

Mimiteh let out a light laugh as she slowly trotter around as if to model her new "accessory" of sorts. It felt nice to feel at ease around others after being alone and in fear for so long. She would have run straight home after the incident, but her pride got the best of her and she chose to continue on her journey. "Well that makes three of us then. I've been doing a bit of traveling myself and have only been in the area for a day or so now. I haven't really seen anything of interest since arriving here, that is until you guys chose to show up. Are you two heading anywhere in particular?"

"Nah, we're just wanderin' around, trying to find a place to settle." He shrugged, admired her bird qualities with more interest. "So... what do they call you? You know, for the bird-stuff? Some girl called me.. a hippo something because of my feathers." He wrinkled his nose at the memory.

"Ah, I wish I knew why I'm out wandering about. All I really know is that I need to keep going, even if I don't know why or for how long." Mimi's ears flicked at the question. Her mother would be better off answering such questions, but maybe she could remember some of the older mare's words. "I believe the word you are looking for is Hippogryph? I've seen a few, but I don't know much about them besides they are related to my kind in some way. My mom said I am a harpy like herself a most of my family. We are like gryphs, but we don't really have beaks and all our feet are clawed." She looked down at her larger feet for a few seconds. "Have you ever heard of something called The Flock?"
