Suluksati Lvl 67 Aedaun Alikhehorian Luk: 33 Luk exp: 1/3 Ariadne Lvl 1 Orderite Apprentice Archer Luk: 6 Luk exp: 0/3 Location: Serenia Attempting: Borgnah x 5 (Lvl 30, Luck 25)
Total Luk: 39
Success chance: 5-100
49, 35, 46, 77, 50 = 5 x wins Quote: Loot: For all: + 5 Luck + (30*5=150/2)=75 exp + 5 Brown Spikes Nilah44 What just happened: Okay, so we decided on Borgnah : big scary spider things. Suluksati's luck is 33. Ariadne's luck is 6. Since they are fighting together - in the sense of the mechanics if not in actual fact - they are considered to have a group luck of 39. The borgnah's luck rating is 25. This means that it can be challenged - at a 10% chance of winning - by a character with 25 luck. This chance increases by 10% with each point above the luck rating. So, at 26 luck, it would be 20% and so on. Because - combined - we have more than ten more luck than necessary, it mazes out at 95%. That means, 5-100. I rolled five dice in the intro post for Suluksati. She won all five times, but go ahead and roll anyway in your rp post (since I put your stats up there for you. Typically we each put up a stat profile before the rp, but i've done it already so we can get into the fun part of this.) Even though there's 5 wins, I want you to roll because: if you somehow get a 100, i can replace one of the borgnah with a bigger creature. Something even more interesting than the borgnah. Maybe a dragon! Anyway, assuming you don't roll a 100, we won against 5 borgnah. We each get: +5 luck, since Ari is much lower rating wise than the borg, so she is guarenteed the points. Suluksati is less than 10 points over the borg, so she gets the credit too. half the total experience, since its divided between the two of them. In this case, that is: The borgnah's level, 30, times the number of Borgnah, 5. Thats 150. Divide it by two and you get: 75. Borgnah also drop an item; Brown spikes. We get one for each downed spiderbeast. + 5 brown spikes. Now we have to 'earn' them. In order to count this, we must each write a minimum of 1500 words. That is each, for each character involved. Anything can happen, NPCs can speak, whatever. Its 300 words per creature for each player character in the thing. Some people, when hunting with multiple characters of theirs, achieve these words in a solo format - IE, just writing it as a story with the characters. this is fine too. However, since its the two of us, we'll be rping and keeping track of our words in our post, as so: (X/1500) We can go over... Of course, if we make it to 1800 words, we can always add another beastie or two in, just for fun. Now, counting the hunt - since im on a roll: you have a hunt requirement towards growth. Some people count this as 'creatures fought' or, accurately, 'every 300 words used in a hunt'. Which means that this hunt would, for them, cover the requirements. This is technically valid. I PERSONALLY do not do that. I count my hunts as each INDIVIDUAL HUNT RP. For me, this hunt would (if sulu had requirements anymore) count as ONE hunt despite there being 5 CREATURES. Raemos has a hunt where he fights 20+ mara: I still counted it as one hunt. You do not have to do this. you also don't have to WIN in the hunt for it to count as a requirement. You just have to do the writing. On a loss, by the way, you get half the creature's level in experience and - if your luck is not 10+ greater than it's luck, you get 1 luck exp. 3 luck exp becomes one point of luck - its a way to improve despite losses. How you rp out a hunt is up to you: You dont have to kill them: you could be training the awful beasties for battle and just playing, for all i care... all that needs to happen is an encounter and a conflict of some sort with a resolution. In this case, the resolution should be favorable and must involve suluksati in some way. Now for your post: What you should do is roll (in case of 100s!!!) and set the scene in a rp post: basically, you're starting. Then I'll bring Sulu in and we rp, keeping track of our word count.

Ariadne hadn’t had her bow for long but the call for adventure didn’t wait. Having already had a few basic courses with her weapon, Ari found the lure irresistible and headed out of the city with her bow in hand. She wasn’t quite sure what she would find but knew she didn’t want to go too far since she had to be honest with herself and she wasn’t completely sure how much she could handle. So Ari had decided to stay relatively close to the city in hopes that if she did get in trouble someone would be able to hear her if she called out.
Just a little ways away stood a forest, that would be a good place to find creatures right? Ariadne smiled to herself as she strode confidently towards the trees. She would just have to make sure to not go too deep into the trees. The young Orderite didn’t have a lot of experience in survival so she knew she would have to be very careful. Yet the thought of getting to fight something made her heart race with excitement and her legs move a little quicker towards the trees.
Unfortunately for her, once under the golden canopy, the mystical feeling around her got her very distracted and caused her not to pay much attention to which way she was going and before she knew it she was lost. The excitement quickly turned to fear as she realized what had happened and Ari really had to work at not freaking out. Every little sound caused her head to whip around and her grip on her bow tightened until her knuckles were white. She had an arrow in her hand ready just in case. It was a good thing she did too as after a few moments of wandering around she swore she heard footsteps behind her. Whirling around, Ariadne let out a startled scream as she saw a spider. A GIANT spider. She back peddled quickly, a little too quickly, and was soon falling on her butt. As if an afterthought, Ari notched her arrow and let it fly. The soft thrum of the string help center her and she only had a few moments of surprise after the arrow hit its mark that she realized that one arrow wasn't going to stop it…and that the spider had friends.

Suluksati liked to patrol in her khehora form. It was bigger overall, and its wings were broader and more powerful, better for gliding than the smaller wings in her two-legged form. She glided over the golden forest of Serenia, admiring the blush of Autumn on a few of them. Her homeland was beautiful, and she had always loved it, but its beauty held secrets as deadly as any shadowed jungle of the dark lands. She grazed the treetops with her claws, enjoying what leisure she could in her driven life. A scream put that to an end, however, that of a young magescian. It was worth investigating: Suluksati had a soft spot for the young and newly-blooded of the magescians. They were still salvagable, able to be turned away from the endless slaughter of dragons. She dove below the trees, shifting to her Khehorian form – feathered and naked save for the cloth at her waist – for better maneuverability. Nimble in the smaller form, she leapt through the trees with ease. She soon saw it was not a failed dragon hunt, but something else entirely. Borgnah. Suluksati hated them. She roared to get their attention, still impressive despite her decreased size, before leaping at one – her claws glowing with magical light... (213/1500)

Ariadne was scared. Plain and simple. Why in the world did she allow herself to space off and wander so far into the forest and she didn’t even know her way out now which meant she couldn’t even try to run away from the spiders since she would probably just run into more trouble. Her first adventure and she was already going to die. Didn’t that suck? All she could do was shoot one arrow off after another. Maybe half of the arrows missed their mark but the other half hit. It seemed her luck wasn’t completely gone though as something swooped down from the sky through the trees and roared. Ari was about to scream again thinking it was a dragon at first before she noticed the body shape and size of her would be rescuer? It must be a Khehora! She had never seen one before but her father had told her about them quite a bit in his stories. Ari stood there wide eyed for probably more time than she should have. It was probably quite rude the way she stood there and stared but she was just so amazed! The Khehora attacked one of the Borgnah, its claws glowing with a magical light causing Ariadne’s amazement to increase. The arrival of more Borgnah was what finally snapped her out of her amazement to take in the real danger around her. Sure the Khehora was attacking the Borgnah now but what after they were all dead? Was Ariadne next? She would have to deal with these icky spiders quickly and then run as quick as she could away as to not become the next thing to attack for the pretty thing. Although…it would be interesting to talk to one and see how they were…if she was a nice khehora. Ari continued backing up until her back was against a tree and she surveyed the area around her: five Borgnah total and the one Khehora who was helping her at the moment. Two of the borgnah were already down to her relief but panic welled up inside her as she noticed one coming up behind the mystery Khehora. ”Watch out behind you!” She shouted before firing a few arrows at the sneaky Borgnah. Whether or not she would become Khehora food instead of borgnah food, she wasn’t going to let the overgrown pests attack the one who was trying to help and may or may not kill her afterwards. One of the nice things about her two-legged form was that she had hands, with which she could manipulate light magic and throw it. It was less ridiculous than her mouth-light-beam, and more easily controlled, for when she wanted to maim instead of kill. This time, though, she wanted to kill. Buying herself a free moment with a light shield, she summoned up a ball so shining magic and, finding an opening in the spider's defenses, threw her light ball at it. It hit, shattering into a blinding, shimmering light that, when it dissipated, left behind only a few trace hairs that had once been one of the massive spiders. It was the opening the sneaky Borgnah needed. It pounced, knocking her down, though the arrows interrupted its charge, stabbing into its eyes as its shrieked in pain. Suluksati kicked out with a clawed leg and finished it off, standing up to realize that the remaining three had flanked her. She was knocked down again with a swipe from one of the creatures forelegs, shielding herself before they could attack her. She snarled at them. Her shield held, but they would be on her if she brought it down... better her than the child, obviously, but not particularly good. She summoned another ball of light, charging it. “Run!” she shouted to the young orderite as she prepared for a reckless gambit... (445/1500)

The sheer power that the Khehora had was simply astonishing to the young Orderite. She had to really make herself focus on attacking the Borgnah and not staring at her helper. She couldn’t wait to go home and tell her family about this! Especially her siblings who had always been so enthralled with their father’s stories just as much as she had. This was her first real adventure, and she had to admit it was going pretty horribly. So she would get to tell her family…if she made it out of this alive. Ariadne shook her head as she had started fading into her own thoughts again and had lost track of exactly what was going on when the Khehora shouted “RUN!” She was fighting from the ground, very majestically if Ari could add, and fear started seeping up into her heart once more. She couldn’t leave with a good conscious. She couldn’t run leaving the one who had tried to help her to deal with the consequences. What would that say about her character? No. She would stay and fight and help the one who had helped her. It wouldn’t be easy, and Ariadne knew that. ”No! We’ll defeat them. Three are already down there are just two more. We can do this!” Ari had no idea where her confidence came from since deep down inside she knew she was lucky to not be peeing her pants right about now. As her helper conjured up another ball of light, Ari suddenly realized that must be why they were going after her. The light must be attracting them! At least she had a shield to defend against their attacks. Ariadne had to find a way to exploit this new found knowledge. Taking a few slow and measured breaths, she fired off one arrow and then repeated the process, focusing on the accuracy of her shots rather than having a volley. Sure her friend’s shield would shield from her attacks as well but there was no reason to be careless. Her arrows weren’t penetrating as deep, but they were definitely doing some damage she noticed with satisfaction. ”They’re both weakened…I think.” She called out hesitantly. Would the Khehora be able to take advantage of their weakened state and get up off the ground? Should Ari go and try to help her up? Mentally, she threw the former idea in the trash. She was much more of use at a distance like her weapon was meant to be. (1221/1500)

That her light might be attracting the beasts hadn't actually crossed Sulu's mind: she had thought that they were attacking her because she was a threat. But the bright light irritated the shade-loving beasts, and they were attracted. To kill. Suluksati glanced over, concerned, at the orderite. She wasn't leaving: why?! The youngling was in danger here. It was foolishness to stay - the same foolishness that cost many dragons and children their lives. But there was little the khehorian could do about childhood foolishness, and she had no time to try. With the child in the way, she didn't want to risk her gambit. Blasting them with magic had been her plan, but a blast could hurt the youngling as well, and was not certain besides. If she failed to destroy them both before the beasts could take her down, then they could easily go after the Orderite... One squealed, an arrow protruding from one of it's joints. It was briefly distracted as the leg collapsed beneath it and Suluksati took her chance. She let down her shield and slammed it with the ball of light, charging in her magic's wake to give herself space. She felt a claw slice down her right wing, crying out in pain as her thinner khehorian skin gave more to the claw than she was used to. Her magic shimmered around the new wound, healing it, as she turned to face the Borgnah again. It's partner was head, it's fur singed off, it's eyes lifeless as it lay, punctured with arrows, on the ground. An arrow sailed out from behind her, landing in the final creature's flesh. Another arrow, another thud. The creature screamed as it's legs gave out, a feral, unholy sound that shook her feathers. She roared back, and went in to deal with it. She dodged past it's weakening, scrabbling claws and, grabbing it, flipped it to it's back. It squalled on the ground, struggling to right itself. She jumped onto it, it's soft underbelly undulating as it shrieked under her weight. Carefully, cooly, she summoned her light and, in a sudden blinding bolt, she ran it through with magic. It lay still, and she hopped off, her injuries glowing as her magic took care of them. She landed in the spreading pool of its dark ichor and looked in disgust at her marred feathers. She would need so much preening afterwards... But first, she turned to the Orderite youngling. "Are you injured?" she asked. It came out harsher than she had been trying for. (870/1500)

The orderite’s heart was beating fast and despite forcing herself to take slow measured breaths, her breathing continued to quicken. At least her shots continued to be measured. Ariadne’s arrows seemed to be helping quite a bit though as a distraction since the Khehora was able to take advantage of the Borgnah’s weakened and distracted state. She couldn’t hold back her gasp as the Khehora took a claw to the wing and the gasp kept her mouth open as she watched the other heal herself. It was just astonishing! They seemed to be everything her father had said they were if not more! She watched with just as much amazement as before as the Khehora tipped the Borgnah over on its back and jumped on it. The squealing hurt her ears more than she thought it would but soon it was over and Ari surveyed the area around her. Bodies of Borgnah lay on the ground with blood seeping out. Arrows littered the area and Ariadne was glad that she always carried an excessive amount. The Khehora now turned its attention to her and she had a sudden moment of panic. Her wings seemed to be hurt, or at least in a disarray and Ariadne’s hands gripped her bow tightly. She flinched as it asked her if she was injured. ”I..no, I’m not injured, thanks to you. I really appreciate it. It…it was really foolish of me I know. But you’re amazing! I've never met a Khehora. I’m Ariadne by the way!” She let her rambling come to an end even though there were so many things she wanted to ask. Ari forced herself to wait though, as she wasn't even sure that this Khehora was friendly or not. Maybe it wasn't and she just spent her final moments blabbing the ear off of the one who kills her. That thought would have almost made her chuckle if it weren't so gruesome. (1543/1500)

“Foolish or no, you survived and were a great help. Thank you.” said Suluksati, her feathers slowly easing back into their – approximate – places. Seren's light, would she be preening later. “Amazing?” she remarked, startled. Her? Amazing? How strange. “I have been called many things.” she said, “But never that.” She approached with caution, not believing the child's assessment of herself – children of all species believed a great many things about themselves, not all of which were true. “My given name is Suluksati.” she said, holding out her clawed hands, “May I, Ariadne? I want to make sure you are all right.” (976/1500)

Ariadne couldn't help but smile as she was told that she was a great help. A small blush accompanied that smile but overall she was still filled with adrenaline. She giggled a little when the Khehora seemed startled at her comments. "It's nice to meet you...Suklusati." She said, stumbling on the name somewhat. Even so, she continued smiling and being polite. Her head cocked to the side and she relaxed visibly when the other wanted to check and make sure she was alright. "Sure! I don't think I'm hurt but go ahead." If it would make Sulksati happy she'd let her look her over. Ari put one of her pale hands in the clawed hands of her companion. [1661/1500]

It struck her, as it sometimes did, how delicate magescian flesh truly was. A khehora's skin, and even a khehorian's skin, was tough and durable, whether scaled or feathered. A magescian's skin, however, tore so easily. If she put too much pressure with her claws on the girl's hand, it would open. How they had so much power, so much ferocity, Suluksati didn't know. As gently as she could, Suluksati looked Ariadne over, checking for injuries where she could think to look. Finally, she drew away. “You seem to be unhurt.” she said, satisfied, “Tell me, what brings a young one such as yourself into these woods...” her eyes narrowed, “Were you hunting dragons, Ariadne?” (1091/1500)

Ariadne began humming a wordless tune as the khehora looked her over and waited until she was satisfied. As soon as Suksalati was satisfied that she was unhurt, she returned her arms back to a comfortable position, although the hand that was grasping her bow in a death grip before was visibly more relaxed as Ariadne had realized that the khehora wasn’t going to hurt her. “Yes I’m just fine, thanks to you!” Ariadne said happily. At Sulu’s next question, Ari’s face drained of color. “No. I think I would be way too scared to ever do that! I…” Ari looked away as a blush rose to her face, clearly embarrassed. “I had just thought to take a short walk through the trees since they looked so pretty and then I…started day dreaming and wandered too far into the forest.” Her face was one that a naughty child might give their parents when they knew they did something wrong, but most would think it was adorable. Ariadne was clearly more nervous under the khehora’s scrutiny although she really hadn’t been hunting dragons, she still felt a little silly for having to get rescued simply for daydreaming too much. It was something she would have to make sure she was more careful about when outside the city. [1877/1500]

Nilah44 Why is it so hard to write? Maybe if we added some extra critters? “Ahh.” Suluksati's murmur was gutteral, but definitely pleased or, at least, placated. “Trouble simply found you.” She looked around her, her wings – held tensely behind her – relaxing slightly. “They are beautiful, are they not? Serenia is a beautiful land.” she commented, moving closer and resting a clawed hand on the girl's shoulder. “Shall I escort you back home?” asked Suluksati, feral yellow eyes regarding her carefully, “That way, should you daydream, you will be protected, and I can keep you on the proper path...” If indeed the girl was telling the truth – and Suluksati had a sense that she was – then she was an innocent, and no innocent child should wander alone and unprotected. Even in the beautiful land of light, there was ferocity. Like me, she thought. “Are you from... the city?” she struggled to remember the name of the orderite city, “Or elsewhere?” (1142/1500)
