PERSONALI T Yxxxxxxxxxxx

                                                      Fears
XXXXXThe end - Not in the form of his own mortality. Eh. Who gives a crap about that. In the sense of the whole world doing a cliff dive straight into the apocalypse, so nothing and no one mattered anymore, now that's disturbing.
XXXXXKidnapping - As much as he'd like to think he does, you know, child abduction with threat of cannibalism's not really something you get over. He can wear 'at someone else's mercy' pretty damn well if it happens, but he does have that little nagging fear at his shoulder.
XXXXXAbandonment - And not the way you think--he's more afraid he'd be the one doing the abandoning. Until about a year ago, what Peter was missing most in his life was any sort of family, so it wasn't really all that relevant. He's built enough faith as one can possibly have in the band of rogues that's become his family, but there's another tiny nagging worry that he might chicken out and pull away from people that matter to him when he needs them.
XXXXXChainsaws - Childhood trauma, almost got sliced through by one when he was supposed to be playing hide and seek (or so goes the story he'll tell). Funny thing, he never really thought it'd be relevant again. Most people in space have the sense to realize that spinning spikes on a bike chain aren't a great idea.

                                                      Strengths
XXXXXAudacity - There are times when it might seem that Peter has no shame, and others where he might seem better suited for an institution. He knows he's outclassed a lot of the time, so his best friend's become making diversions that no one else would see coming on the grounds they're so damn weird.
XXXXXImprovisation - If there is a fight, expect Peter to think on his feet and use the environment to his advantage somehow. He's not bad at planning ahead, either, but he's fantastic at acting off the cuff and on the fly, you know, expressions with clothing words for some reason.
XXXXXFlippant - How is this not a strength? It lets him insult you even if your high horse makes you think you're better than he is. It's a coping mechanism at best, one that makes him unable to take certain dangerous people or situations seriously, which is usually bad, but it's also saved his a** plenty of times. His disregard for danger is the only reason that he's able to pull off half the stunts he does.
XXXXXWilling to ask for (or lie to get) help - If Peter's in over his head, he won't let his pride get in the way of pulling his allies together. He's only as powerful as the people around him, which is good, because they make him a hell of a lot more powerful. Maybe he has to twist the facts once in a while to get what he needs out of his allies, but, you know, greater good's got to mean something and he's a pretty awesome kind of good, so.
XXXXXMarksmanship - He would've gone with dancing, but that's more of a subjective skill. This, though, can't be denied. Even if he's not a master of any formal schools of thought or technique or whatever, he's a great shot. His aim isn't too shabby in a normal scrimmage, either, when it comes to offensive moves.

                                                      Weakness
XXXXXUnrefined - From his moves to his personality, there's a distinct lack of finesse in Peter's actions. It's fairly obvious that, even though he's been around experienced brawlers, he's largely self-taught through following their examples, so formal terminology or proper technique is lost on him.
XXXXXWomen - Not that he can't sock a girl in the face if there's a reason to. He'd fight just as hard against them--case in point the encounter with Gamora. It's when they aren't directly trying to steal from and/or murder him that he's not the most restrained around them. He likes to have a good time, and could be distracted by an appropriately charming, beautiful woman who agrees with him. And if they don't agree right away, he might try to persuade her into getting his perspective--that perspective being that she'd have a lot of fun with him in her pants.
XXXXXNot pissing people off - Peter's inability to take most situations seriously can make him challenging to cooperate with, more so if they're members of a group he isn't directly allied with. His friends are mostly exempt from this, but not even then. If he's in a situation that requires him to be solemn, there's a time limit on how long he can succeed and it tends to be counted in seconds.
XXXXXDefense - Peter may have learned how to take a beating, but some of that is because of his fighting style. He'll charge in with an utter disregard for protecting himself. Putting most if not all of his effort into striking the other person down can make him a little more difficult to predict, as he'll be plenty willing to take a punch to land one, but it also takes a toll on his endurance as it leaves his weak spots to get attacked in a brawl as just about everywhere.
XXXXXHis friends - It's been a long, non-existent spacey road to get here, but now that Peter's in charge, he'd let something terrible happen to himself long before he'd let anyone hurt the other guardians. They're his people. Well, his fellow living sentient beings. He might not, no, one hundred percent is not, the strongest of their bunch, but he'd try protecting them to the bitter end all the same, which would be a simple enough point to manipulate.

                                                      Hobbies/Quirks
XXXXXDancing - What he does in the privacy of the wide outdoors isn't your business to criticize, man. It's a free show. You should be happy. He loves singing to his headphones and moving through the open space. It's one of the many things that takes him back to his childhood, and one of the few that's held up well with age.
XXXXXGambling - He's been playing poker and roulette since he was, what, ten? Yeah, outlaws don't really care much what your age is so long as you've got money to lose. He's gotten much better at it.
XXXXXTreasure hunting - As much as one can call something he gets paid for a hobby. He's started being more flexible on where he gets his money now that there's the occasional bounty hunt in its place instead, but his favorite is still going through caves and traps in search of someone's hidden loot. Who wouldn't want to be Indiana Jones?
XXXXXPop culture collector - It's pretty hard to find any sort of terran artifacts out in space, but if they're there (and he can recognize them) Peter will hunt them down. It's one of the small ways he was able to expand his group of references to material that he vaguely knew about, but wasn't able to watch or read when he was a kid. They're pretty rare since Terra was so far away, but, you know, you search the universe for decades, stuff manages to pop up. Mostly books. Yeah. With the words in them. He reads more than a paper. What, is that confusing?
XXXXXTinkering with his ship - Peter might not be completely knowledgeable about what makes his ship purr, but he's got a decent enough handle on it that, during a normal pit-stop, he'll do regular maintenance work. He was on it for years without extra company for more than a night, and it wasn't like that company was made up of mechanics.

                                                      Likes
XXXXXAmong things that already got a mention are music, dancing and women ; in the case of music, Peter used to play an instrument (badly), specifically a guitar, which he might be get to see ; the seventies for music and the eighties for pop culture ; getting to unwind ; a decent meal and a better drink ; most animals that are related to earth. don't tell Drax he was a dog person, it'll confuse him ; adventure ; adrenaline - getting into the right kind of trouble is thrilling, and if there's no trouble at all, then clearly they aren't trying hard enough ; his notebook full of movies project, which is exactly how it sounds ; flying, both in the ship and with his rocket boots. A motorcycle has nothing on that; in the right circumstance, going unrecognized or being underestimated. it improves his chances of kicking your a** ; the words 'man' or 'dude', which pepper his speech without him realizing it. ; Han Solo was kind of his role-model

                                                      Dislikes
XXXXXPeople touching his things ; not being recognized ; people not remembering his name at all ; falling asleep in places that one shouldn't be sleeping in, not because of missing his bed or possibly steering the ship off course, but because his neck will keep cracking all day ; people who take everything too seriously, they really need to chill out ; senseless bickering - can't you get to the point of it? ; falling to the wayside in a conversation - he likes being involved, and preferably in charge ; following rules ; stuffy events and inflexible procedures--the kind of stuff that comes with working with the nova core, hence a continued avoidance of contact since their pardon

                                                      Temperament
XXXXXTouching his walkman - Dude, that's his. Put it down. Do you know how hard it is to get batteries for that thing? You don't know how to appreciate blue suede.
XXXXXThreatening people he cares about - Will put him into action. It's one of the few motivating factors.
XXXXXPlaying a trick on him - Might earn his admiration even more than his annoyance. He's always trying to one-up other people this way, so if someone can manage to fool him, if the consequences aren't end-of-the-world dire, he's a decent sport about it.
XXXXXMusic - It can perk his spirits up when he's having a bad day and lift it even higher when it's a good one. Popping on one of his favorite songs is a short cut to him diffusing whatever tension was building in his head.
XXXXXFlirting - The right combination of banter and flattery is always welcome. Well, almost always. If it's the wrong kind it can get pretty creepy.

                                                      General Personality
XXXXXIn spite of the roguish demeanor, tragic back-story and his dashing good looks, Peter isn't the type of person to take himself too seriously. That might be among his biggest flaws. It's a defensive mechanism that he can't take anything seriously, even if he's on the verge of being killed. Given the lack of decent parenting since he was eight, it's not the biggest of surprises that Peter never quite finished maturing. He has the enthusiasm, interests and dreams of what an eight-year-old boy would think an adult was supposed to be rather than, well, any practical definition of it, and he behaves accordingly.

Peter is careless in regards to his own life, or offending others, and, while not quite crossing over into the territory of being optimistic, certainly excels at taking things in stride. You can only almost die so many times before you stop letting the threat of death get in your way and start prioritize just enjoying yourself. He's extremely savvy about life in space and knows a lot about alien cultures, but can zig-zag right into being naive in the wrong circumstance. Beneath the veneer of self-interested confidence that Peter gives to the world is more of a careless, reckless streak with minimal regard for his own life and an impulsive need to play the hero when given the chance.

                                                      Family Relations
XXXXXMeredith Quill ( Mother ) - Passed away from cancer when he was six years old. She was a single-mother, due to, evidently, having had an affair with someone from outer space. She had always thought his father would come back for them, and at the time, Peter had believed her. She was a loving, slightly-doting parent up until the end, and his biggest regret was not holding her hand as she'd reached out to him at the end.
XXXXXYondu Udonta ( Adoptive Father, Kind Of ) - The leader of the ravagers, the group that abducted Peter on the same night as his mother's death. No need to explain how they got close. Just wait for Peter to piss him off even a little bit and Yondu'll start going all on his own. That not said, the two of them aren't as un-friendly as they would necessarily appear, even if there are death threats still involved from time to time, it's not like they'd mean it.

                                                      General History
XXXXX Refer to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Peter and cohorts have been wandering the Galaxy, fixing some trouble and making some more of their own. They've been keeping their ear to the... well, there's not much ground in space, it's all kind of sky... but they're keeping them open for any news of where those infinity stones might be. Someone has to get there before Thanos can. When word came that they were on Earth, Peter changed course on the spot. Maybe he can pick up some new batteries and another sticker for the dash board.

                                                      Abilities
XXXXXExpert Marksman - Hand him a fire arm and he'll know how to use it. Better yet, just leave it lying on the floor, he can take it for himself. His preferred method is dual wielding his two blasters, but he'll go with what's handy. No discrimination involved.
XXXXXPilot - He's among the best, in his opinion. Some of it comes down to his being daring enough to try things that, if he wasn't, would realistically get him killed for his recklessness, which is appropriate enough, since that's the same as everything else he does.
XXXXXClose-range combat - He might not have some specific martial arts name for it, but he can still land a fist in your gut or a knife in your back. He's got enough scrappy desperation and the ability to take a punch that he can hold on longer than one might expect him to. There are people he's bested in a brawl that he really shouldn't have been able to on paper, and not just because the other guy was drunk, since odds are high on that Peter was drunk, too.
XXXXXEnergy Resistance - There might be some other freaky alien powers he'll discover down the line, but at this point, the only one Peter has actively demonstrated is the ability to hold an infinity stone and not have his brains come pouring out his ears two seconds later. This may extend to being less effected by other forms of energy-based attacks, as well as other effects from infinity stones. He's not planning on going lab-rat on himself to find out, though.
