The feeling of a not-quite-chaotic aura hit Acubens before she was able to see who she was approaching. She knew the feeling of these auras now like the feeling of her own flesh. Despite the way it made her flesh prickle and crawl as all chaotic auras did, Acubens felt comfort in it. The feeling of the aura that approached slid itself over her skin and smoothed down all of her ruffled feathers. It silenced her screaming nerves and patched what bare wires it could find.
Acubens sunk to her knees, unable to hold the weight of herself up.
Leto's voice cut through the haze of her pain and Acubens looked up with unseeing eyes. Shapes and colors. Was she crying? She felt like she was crying, but she couldn't connect the sensation with the understanding that it was happening. What a strange thing to feel, she wondered in a faraway part of her mind. And how fitting that she had come to Leto. In truth, Acubens had no idea where she was going. She was just...
going. But no, that wasn't really true at all, was it? She had been going somewhere. Or rather to someone. Pulled as though by a magnetic call, as she always had been. Since her first meeting with Lesath all those years ago.
She had been searching, without knowing, for Leto. And she took the hand in her own, trying her best not to smear her own blood on the other senshi. Leto's hand was so soft. Acubens held on to it like the lifeline that it was but for all her trying could only manage the barest of grips. One wrong move and she'd lose the dark mirror before her forever. She'd slip into the event horizon of her misery and be gone. She could feel ice-cold on the back of her neck as reality dawned on her like a slow sunrise.
"Leto I..."
Her voice was specter-thin, as though any more force would shatter her throat. What a moment to lose her voice, she lamented with too-hot eyes. If any moment demanded zeal and passion and conviction, this was it. And yet the scream-raw throat refused to cooperate.
So her heart took over where her body could not and inject all of the devotion that it could into the semi-opaque statement that she was about to make.
"Leto I... I think I want to come home now. If that's okay."
