If you want to have a separate rp with Kirk, then just toss me a message and this will just be a 2 way with Grrel and Kirk :3

Grrel was leaving the main overgrown part of the Kawyn Ruins with Braith, going east, away from where they’d first entered the ruin. It was close to evening, and she was getting rather hungry and figured to go hunting before she decided where she should go next. Decisions about the future always came after food! Pausing at the edge of a half collapsed building with a huge tree emerging from its inside, she smelled the air. It smelled like… there was a Khehora about! Faint but there. It was neither her scent nor Braith’s so another must have been by here recently. Curious as to who else had come into the ruins, she followed her nose, trying to figure out which way the scent was going. She couldn’t find any tracks yet though…

Kirk was climbing up rocks, warbling. He wanted to get back to his nest, his mama would miss him and he didn't want to miss her. If he did, he wouldn't get fed, or be looked after. This was how little hatchlings died. Kirk wouldn't be among them, he would get to the high ground and find his egg shells. He would be found and looked after then. He just needed to get back.

(( Sorry for not posting earlier, I somehow didn't get the quote for this one. So odd ))

Braith had his arms crossed behind his head, his red wings flapping behind him, following along after Grrel as they headed along. She was hunting and he was, well, tagging along. He wasn't bad at hunting but he tended to go after the more lazy, slow moving beasts that lumbered about. He was a lazy sort of Khehora, not to the sort that wanted to expend more energy then he had to, and hunting fast moving things didn't appeal to him. He would guess that Grrel didn't have the same aversion to moving around quickly as he did. Tail swishing he asked of her, "So what do you hope to find for dinner?" So long as it was something big and tasty Braith was all for it. He could only hope that she would be willing to share with him even if he were useless on the hunt if she was going after prey he wasn't familiar with or something faster then he was.

Taking in the manner that she seemed to be sniffing at the air he perked up, wondering if she was onto something already... but instead of the scent of prey he smelled, was that Khehora? It was a scent different then their own meaning that someone else had come here too? Was it for the same reasons that they'd come here? Had they found anything like what Grrel and himself were after? So many questions came to mind, all without answers unless they were able to find the other Khehora, provided of course that they were still around. Just when he found himself wondering if the other Khehora would stick around he heard something rather odd. It was a strange, wailing sound.

Instantly he froze in place, wondering for a moment if it was a ghost! Had they stumbled across a ghost? A Khehora ghost, maybe?! Not something he wanted to deal with... but he started to come to his senses when he realized that ghosts were without physical form so surely they couldn't smell like anything right? So many he'd jumped to the wrong conclusion? Looking over at Grrel he asked, "Any idea what is making that sound?" She was a lot sharper then him, a better hunter, and seemed to get around to more places... so maybe it was a sound she knew better then he did? At least that was what Braith was hoping for, before his imagination started to come up with more spooky options for what might be out there.

Grrel frowned when she also heard the sound. It was not too deep... was it an animal or a Khehora she thought.
"Mm.. not sure... but it's in the same direction that the khehora scent is coming from so... might as well check it out!" Expecting some trouble, Grrel switched back to her Khehora form... that and it had a better nose! Maybe it'd bee something edible.. that way she didn';t have to put too much effort into feeding herself. THough she couldn't smell any creatures other than Khehora.... Doubtful it'd be prey then.

"It... actually sounds like an Orakoi or Orakoir..." She said after awhile and they had gotten closer. "But I do not smell too many Khehoras about! And surely a youngling would not be out here with out an adult!" Right? Or maybe a child had decided to have an adventure and snuck off.... It did happen a lot in her clan! Though they usually caught them before they went too far.

Little Kirk found himself on a sort of platform of stone, calling out to the wind. His mother would hear him, right? He couldn't find his nest, she would have to hear him, surely he wasn't abandoned? He could smell others faintly, but he wasn't old enough to understand there was potential for danger there.

Braith's eyes went a little wide when Grrel mentioned that the sound was coming from the same direction as the Khehora scent, not a good combination at all, especially when the scent seemed to be coming from a baby. Giving a soft huffing, his thick tail thumping against the ground, he said, "Why would a little whelp be out here? It makes no sense." They had come out here purposefully because they were looking for something, but to wander so far when one was little, "Maybe something is chasing the little one?" He mused, not liking the idea that something might he chasing, threatening, or trying to eat a little one. The whelp had to be found before anything happened to it! Before it could be hurt or worse!

He heard the sound again, this time a bit more clearly, and Braith did something he rarely did unless he had a good reason, he flew. Lifting himself up off his feet by flapping those glowing wings of his the big, lazy Firani brought himself up into the air so that he could get a better look around. Once up there he was finally able to spot the little baby that they were looking for and he only looked that much more stunned, "It... it's just a little one, fresh from the egg... what is it doing here?" He muttered, half to himself and half to Grrel before landing once more. Lifting a clawed hand he raised it to point toward where the little one was perched, "Over there, we aught to go check on the little whelp before we move on."

There was any number of reasons for the whelp to be there but Braith couldn't come up with a single one that made any rational sense, they were all rather dismal scenarios. What if his egg was stolen by two-legs, accidentally dropped here, and he hatched alone being one of them? That or some predatory beast or dragon chased the baby here cause they wanted to make a snack of him? What if the nest had been in the area but something happened to the mother during that Mara incident and that one was the only whelp left? His imagination was running on full blast as he started forward toward where the little whelp was, calling out, "Hey! Little one! How about you come down from there before you get hurt!" They should see what he was doing and try to see to it that he got home safely, provided that he still had a home. Braith would try to quash the ideas swirling about in his head and try to focus on better things, like retrieving the baby and getting it back where it belonged.

Make sure to quote me and orphy when you post! And Grrel probably will be all over the place looking into places of power/ruins/tombs looking for power/clues to breaking the bond so not sure she can actually take on an Orakoi, though she'd be glad to bring you to a nearby clan or her own for her family to look after him.

Grrel sighed and shook her head; there was no sign of any adult which meant this little one had been abandoned or gotten lost... Neither a good thing.
Knowing how contrary some Orakoi could be, she hopped up to it's perch to land beside it, giving a soft hum to let him know she was friendly.

"We'll have to find it's nest, Braith." She called down. "Or the clan his parents came from. I've never been to this area before so I don't know any of the clans... what about you?

Kirk glanced between the two, pausing in his bleating. He shivered from the wind and wiggled up against Grrel's body. He gave a little noise and tried to explain in his own words what had happened. He'd hatched alone and was looking for his mother. Though being newly hatched, his own words were just more noises.

Braith lifted his head, watching as Grrel moved to join the little Orakoi on its perch, taking the pair closely before he gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, we should see about getting him somewhere safer." Where they were wasn't exactly the best place for a little one so it would probably be best if they saw to it that he was brought back to his nest and his clan. Though the question became where was that? Where was his clan at? They had been in this area for a while and he couldn't say that he recalled seeing any other Khehora about. Then there was the fact that while Braith had been hanging around a while on Serenia during his vacation he hadn't met with any of the local clans meaning that he didn't have much to go on. They were going to have to do a bit in the way of searching to find where this one had come from provided that he was actually native to the area himself.

Tilting his head to one side the Firani listened to the little one as he seemed to be attempting to explain in baby talkk what had happened. Braith lifted a hand to smother a giggle, finding the little noises rather amusing and cute. A shame that the little peeping sounds weren't in any language that Braith knew or else they might be able to help get the little guy home a lot easier. Taking a couple steps forward, closer to where the two were perched he called up, "Does he look like he's in good shape, Grrel?" If he were then at least they had been able to find him before something dangerous or hungry had found him.
