For the first time since he'd attended his second senior prom four years after graduating from high school, Tel was notably early for an appointment. Back then, he had been motivated by the invitation of one Ylyria Singer, lust demon and notorious party ghoul. Now he was early because something inside him was, for lack of a more appropriate description, wrong, and he had a vested interest in setting whatever it was right again, once he figured out what it was. Both were valid reasons, though one was certainly more fun. He wondered what Ylyria was doing now... or rather, who. He didn't wonder for long. So many years had passed since then, each one brimming with the potential for mold. Best not to dwell on it.

Unsure as to whether or not they would be able to find edible food in the human world, an assortment of cans, bottles, and boxes made up the bulk of Tel's luggage, though there was still room for a tightly packed bundle of shirts and two extra pairs of jeans on top of it all. If they didn't end up somewhere with a resident Halloween population to help them with lodging, he was pretty much screwed, but the likelihood of that happening was slim to none, in his opinion. Surely these portals wouldn't spit students out just anywhere, right?

Under the judgmental eye of the portal guard, Tel lifted the strap of his duffel bag off of his shoulder and set it on the ground in front of him. The demon smiled. "Everything's on the list of approved crap. Sir." He had been required to check in when he had arrived, linking the whole experience back to some hazily remembered school field trip, so even though he didn't feel any more like a scareling than usual, Tel took it upon himself to act like one.

Unfortunately, the guard decided to respond in kind. "We'll see about that, won't we, Mr. Klavost?" He might have been old, but it seemed the creature could still troll alongside the best of them. "I'll just need to take a look inside to make sure."

Tel glared. "Really."

"Yes, Mr. Klavost." He was already kneeling near the duffel, unzipping one of its outer pockets and pulling out a can that read minced lepus. "Is this bleach?"

There was just as much clanking as there was conversation in the tatzel ghoul's corner. Levi hadn't had much need of her pack since her move to the school dormitories, but once again the occasion arose for her to take up the bulky burlap contraption to carry all the necessities she'd require; they'd require. Nah, don't 'suppose I missed nothin'. Ya'leave anythin' fer Master while yer gone? She's gonna miss yew, kekeke. Pots and pans were tied to each top corner, chiming to her steps and turns while whatever was crammed within rarely made a peep; a testament to her packing abilities. Chattering at West's side, their arrival made apparent by the metallic jingle, two guards would approach the ghoul and boil, causing Levi to cease her musical score. From the corner of her eye, she spotted another body or mass approaching; another guard? Was something wrong?

"Uh, Ma'am, we're going to have to ask you to let down your luggage over here so it can be put on the conveyer belt for scanning."

Levi's eyes followed the direction in which the speaking guard pointed, noting the oversized machine that resembled the line of other devices- only bigger. Perhaps this was why the third guard had come over with what looked like a fancy wheelbarrow. Maybe more of a tractor or bale lifter, actually. Oh! Well, sure. Easy does it now. The thick straps that would've tightly fit over one of the ghoul's tatzelwurm arms fit over both in her smaller student body. She could remove the pack with ease, but it was rather awkward to set down. Guess it was for the best that they'd lend a helping hand to make sure all went smoothly for their trip. Utilizing her tail, Levi set her heap of burlap on the provided lift, signaling to the third guard that he could take it away within a distance that she could still see it.

"This way for the internal scan, please," the second guard instructed, heading over to what looked like a doorway with lights and a screen offside for the security's viewing.

Rolling her shoulders with a grin excitedly, Levi looked to West, ready to follow him through the gates for a bodily scan before his own luggage would be taken for examination. After yew, fancypants.

Compared to Levi, West appeared foolishly, even dangerously, unprepared. In lieu of a rucksack or even a duffel bag, the demon had brought along one rolling, thigh-high suitcase, a thoroughly sleek piece of luggage that appeared impenetrable at first glance. He'd packed plenty of toiletries and a respectable selection of clothing—he'd even sprung for a dry cleaning charm, just in case—but his bag was woefully devoid of food. Though they didn't strictly need food, West loved to eat, and he couldn't have said why he had neglected to pack anything edible. Even when he realized his error, he wasn't overly concerned, mostly because the realization came at the same moment he learned that the tatzel had brought her entire kitchen. If they couldn't feed on human fear, they would at least have candy corn.

He snorted. "Dunno if 'miss' is th'right word." He and his long suffering scareon might have come to an understanding regarding food, shelter, and affection years ago, but that didn't mean she didn't still largely take care of herself. "She can go scratch'er head onna tree if she gets lonely." At the guard's request, West growled faintly, reluctant to let them invade his ghoulfriend's privacy without a better reason than your bag is jackin' ridiculous. Levi seemed fine with it, and he might have reluctantly accepted the intrusion as well if the first guard hadn't belatedly raised a hand to him.

"Sir. Is that suitcase made entirely of metal?"

"Mmhm. So?"

"We're going to have to put that through the scanner as well." The guard added a, "Sorry," in response to West's glower.

He did as he was told with a minimum of fuss, if only because he was anxious to get on to the main event. The days that had passed between their chance meeting with Tel at the passport office and today had dragged on for the demon, and now that it was finally time to go to the human world, it seemed he was destined for more delays.

Once his bag was properly on the conveyor, he moved on through the body scan at Levi's prompting, pausing only to remove a pair of horn cuffs and the simple stud from his tail and hand them to a guard. He clenched his teeth as he strode through, certain he would be detained and trying to curb his reaction to it before it happened, but, to his surprise, the machine remained silent. West reclaimed his jewelry on the other side, and as he reaccessorized, he tried to see over the shoulder of the ghost looking at the x-ray screen, only managing to catch a glimpse of a cluster of fabricy blobs surrounded by the outline of Levi's pack. Quickly bored by that, he watched the ghoul herself make her way through the scanner after him, waiting until she was clear before he addressed her again.

"Anyone lookin' after Sweets n' Popcorn?" He couldn't quite picture the treat taking care of itself, but surely it had done so before during school trips.

Thanks to West's quick thinking to remove all things metallic, Levi too would preemptively pat herself down as if she couldn't recall having put on her iron underthings today or not. You never know was all she thought. Maybe gnomes had come into her room at night and planted pellets in her boots and she wouldn't even know it. Well- that she might've felt, actually. Oh-! Her boots did, however, have metallic accents on them.

"You can place them in this bin here, ma'am, and we'll bring them through to you."

Well thank yew. Barefooted, the ghoul also realized, having been looking down, that her belt buckle might be a cause for calamity as well. Thus, Levi began taking it off. Likewise with West, the tatzel had been looking forward to spending time with her mate and his kin. Their house searching hadn't been all that fruitful due to a differing of views and a loss of words instead of a decent compromise attempt being made. For her, some of the houses seemed too pricey or exuberant but she got the distinct feeling that West felt more aggravated than usual with her choices as well. Neither of them had been all that impressed with their options. It would take a few more open houses till they'd settle down, it seemed.

Levi's foot fell forward, placing her right before the sensors of the frame West had just passed through successfully. Suddenly stopping dead in her tracks like she'd frozen over, Levi's hands both rose to her head, picking off her ear cuff. Almost fergot that one, kekeke. Cackling to the guard at her side and placing the cuff in his hand, Levi too began to pass through without so much as a peep in response. Breathing a sigh of relief (mostly that the frame wasn't a doorway leading to another dimension of some sort), Levi took hold of her safety-approved cuff and boots, beginning to put them back on with haste. It looked like the lift was back on its way towards them.

I left some goodies on tha'rug. Least they've got each other. Popcorn knows how ta'git int a tha' barrels if it comes to that. Won't be pretty, but it's like yew said: they can fend fer themselves just fine. Thanks, boils! I'll take'er from 'ere! The guards didn't give a response, but seemingly positioned the pack so that it was at a comfortable level for Levi to pick up. That was just as good in her book.

Wriggling both shoulders back into their individual straps, she hoisted the pack back on herself with the returning clanks informing all around of the action taking place. That was when Levi picked up on another colorfully haired demon. Pointing a finger for West to follow, the tatzel clenched down on West's wrist with her other hand and urged him to move like a scarling dragging their parent into a toy shop. There's Uncle Tel! UNCLE TEL!!! Clank clank clank clank… Levi began her not so subtle waving, looking from her boilfriend back to the older demon, and then back again. This, of course, all while she skipped over to meet with West's uncle in a series of tiny bounces, not letting up on West's wrist until they'd come within feet of Tel and his guard. Yes, she was still just that excited to meet one of West's kin and -by extension- her own. My oh my, yew dun got 'ere earlier than we did! Kekeke~! Levi's hand still gripped West, only now she did it casually, swinging their hands back and forth and watching the old guard place one of the containers from Tel's luggage to his left ear like they were possible explosives. Uh… how's it goin'ere?

"Hmm, that could either be a ticking or my pacemaker is acting up again."

Gran wasn't quite so bad, but Levi recognized a special moment when she saw one. Sometimes ya'gotta wonder if they're more trouble than they're worth, eh?

"Truer words have never been spoken, Miss. Wouldn't be the first time I've had to deal with it trying to escape my chest."

Reckon thats gotta be it. Ya'know, yew should look inta eatin' more meats. Betcha it'll clear that right up.

"Is that a fact? Maybe I'll have to look into it then."

The old guard's knees almost audibly began to creak as he rolled back up to a stand, still eyeing the duffle bag. His head was nodding, so this seemed to be a good sign that he had seen enough of Tel's bag to be satisfied that there was no time bomb within the recesses of his toothpaste tube.

The only indication that West was still quite put out by their routine violation came in the solid slam of his suitcase as he dragged it off of the conveyor and let it fall to the floor. About to mutter something that would have inelegantly stressed just how he felt about the time they had been forced to waste, the tug at the demon's wrist instead distracted him from what would have likely bloomed into a proper tirade. He just managed to grab the handle of his bag before he was dragged after the tatzel, and his sour mood lightened when he too caught a glimpse of Tel waiting not-so-patiently up ahead. Maybe everyone was getting harassed today. Maybe it was just the wrath demons. Either way, the sight made him smile, if only for a second.

It faded when he noticed the older ghost kneeling in front of his uncle, pawing through Tel's bag. He hoped for that codger's sake that their detour through the scanner negated the need for them to undergo the same treatment. Not only did West not want some guy examining his underwear, he also didn't think he could actually speak to him without causing a scene, or at the very least handling it much worse than Levi was. Having only ever dealt with his father's crotchety, horrible mother a handful of times in his life, he was not at all prepared to speak to the elderly. For all he knew, that thing they were talking about really was about to burst out of the b*****d's chest and, with his luck, they would be blamed for causing it and held up even more. He remained quiet, giving his uncle a thoroughly meaningful eyeroll as he turned to give his own luggage another unnecessary external examination, his hand still clasped with the ghoul's.

"It's not bleach. It says 'minced lepus' clear as day on the label. Hand it over if you don't believe me and I'll eat the whole damn thing right in front of you." It might have defeated the purpose of bringing the supplies in the first place, but Tel didn't care. He would consume the contents of every last can he carried just to make his point. Clearly, he was no better at dealing with older folks than West was.

He reached for the can and would have succeeded in stealing it away had he not heard Levi's exuberant greeting.

"You are one lucky son of a b***h," he muttered, grinning broadly at West and his ghoul as they approached. The guard continued his search, seemingly oblivious to the demon's threat. Tel crossed his arms when his bag was rummaged through for the second time, but he didn't interrupt when Levi addressed the ghost. His nephew's eyeroll was met with a nod and one of his many easy to decipher gestures of disdainful dismissal: the subtle aerial handjob.

"Good to see you two," Tel continued when there was a pause in the conversation. "I did get here early. I wasn't doing anything better at home and I thought I'd get past all the security so we could get going quicker." He glared at the top of the guard's head as he stood. "This... kind gentleman offered to keep me occupied until you got here. But we're done now. Right?"

"He sassed me," the guard said. Firmly on his feet, he reached out to give Levi's shoulder a fond pat. "Such a charming young lady traveling with such... whippersnappers."

"Hey! I didn't say anythin'!" West shouted, squeezing Levi's hand a little harder than necessary in his adamancy. If they were held back now for trouble he hadn't even caused, he was definitely going to break something. Or someone.

The guard smiled, looking between Telefsen and West. "You didn't have to, ha!" He held out his hand, dismissing the last twenty minutes with the simple motion. "Papers, please."

The boil would have argued further, but... papers. Papers! That meant they were almost through. He had forgotten he needed to have them ready, but they were within easy reach. He pulled them from the inside pocket of his coat and held them out.

"Here y'go." All of his earlier malice had left his tone, replaced by anticipation.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2015 8:06 pm

The elderly guard's fingers felt for the last page of their required documentation and gingerly accepted them while giving the boil a swift, stern glancing. Propping his glasses further up his transparent nose, the ghost supplied his thumb with lubricant from his tongue (whether or not it was actually moist in nature), taking his time with every line. "Mhmm, I see. Students, yes…" He distanced the page, getting a better view of a smaller typeface while stating the obvious. "And I suppose you're their sponsor?" The question began before the guard even looked Tel's way; he turned his head at what would be the equivalent of a tortoise's speed, pausing upon finish. "Nice penmanship."

Retracting just as slowly as it had turned before, the guard's head then turned to Levi, handing her the papers with a small smile. "Here you go, young lady. Now remember, the human world isn't a place to fool around-" He spoke to the ghoul like a parent instructed a babysitter about to take care of their child. "Keep clean after yourselves in regards to any Halloween material and scare safely if the need arises." Accepting the papers eagerly, the tatzel stared at the sagely ghost who had yet to tell her the words she really wanted to hear, nonetheless being grateful for their return. In doing so, the guard ushered his hands to one side, gesturing for the group to move forward. "You may pass on."

Thank ya kindly, sir! N' yew have yerself a frightfully good day, ya hear? Take care! The ghoul would wave a goodbye as they made their way into the distance down a sizable carpeted corridor. Holding West's hand in one of hers, Levi offered the younger wrath demon their passes to once again keep hold of, addressing her superior. N' thank yew fer comin'long with us, Uncle Tel. I got me some critters in ma' gullet thinkin'bout how fun it'll be- us folks in tha'thick. Levi would give her Uncle Tel another large grin, affirming the honesty of her gratefulness while hoisting her bag up onto her shoulder with an audible series of clanks.

Whaddaya' think we should do first when we're there? Tilting her head at Westus, Levi pondered the very same question herself. It was more like she was offering him an invisible list of possibilities without actually mentioning any particular things she wanted to do and seeing what he liked best. There's this and that, or maybe we could go do this instead first before- The tatzel ghoul's thoughts stood still when they passed through a pair of large doors outlined by striped black and yellow lines. It's been awhile, but I sure ain't seen none quite this big 'b'fore. Within the well guarded and obscenely bright room was a portal that met both floor and ceiling. Various creatures carried devices and clipboards in the area, monitoring the doorway and marking down anything of interest. Who dun turned on tha'pimpkin sun in'ere?" The ghoul rubbed an eye, blinking repeatedly to make up for her prolonged stare at the monolithic portal before her ears popped up in attention. "It's so you can adjust more easily to the environment in the human world you are visiting. It's the season of summer there, you know." The rat-faced, lizard-tailed individual tapped their pencil against a clipboard as they addressed the trio. "We should be ready for you shortly. Just have a sea-" Just as their new representative spoke, the portal made a sudden cracking sound- like a firecracker going off feet away from where they stood. "Oh, nevermind. I guess we're ready. This way." Shrugging, the tatzel waddled along after the creature towards the semi-transparent door.

It was the perfect opportunity to get in the last word. They would be well past before the old man could even think up a retort, let alone mumble one out, but West remained quiet anyway. His mind was full. There was no room for mockery. They were almost to the human world. He had been there several times before for class, but never alone and never without an assignment or expectation. What would they do on their own without restriction? Having the freedom to go wherever they wanted and scare whomever crossed their paths would most likely land them in trouble, but that was what Tel was there for, right? To keep them out of it? West snorted. Right.

Nodding at the ghost guard as they were waved through, West pocketed the passes Levi handed him and pulled his miniature tank of a suitcase up onto the carpeting behind him. He concentrated on the doors ahead. The portal looked dangerous with all of its yellow and black, though he suspected it was all for show.

"Once we find a place t'put our stuff, we could..." The choice hadn't gotten any easier in the thirty seconds since he had last dismissed it. Should they go on a scaring spree, raising the humans' suspicions and guaranteeing that they would need to move on almost immediately? Should they carefully assess their dropoff location, finding spots for harvesting that no one would suspect? Should they settle in and enjoy their surroundings without worrying about duties or responsibilities? He smirked. Sitting around soaking in the scenery seemed like the way to go, at least for their first day.

"I think we should check out wherever we end up first," he suggested. "I mean, we've gotta whole w..."

Holy s**t.

West squinted so sharply that his eyes nearly shut. He didn't think he'd ever seen a light so bright. Maybe all those other trips had been scheduled during eclipses. "Damn. If it's gonna be this bright, we should definitely get usedta things fer a while." With one last look at his uncle to make sure he hadn't bailed, West quickly followed Levi and the rat.

With the bags scanned and their papers in the ghost's hands, everything was almost in order. There would be no turning back now. Tel's crossed arms tightened against his torso for a second, loosening again when he was addressed.

"Thanks." Had that handwriting thing been a dig? Tel couldn't tell. He felt his snark bleeding away at a trickle, leaving him both angrier and more nervous than he preferred. "And yeah, I am." A sponsor. An example. Zira would laugh herself to dissipation if she knew what he was doing. He tried to pay extra attention as the guard gave Levi his safety speech, but all Tel could do was peer down the hall at the sealed doors that marked its end. The last time he had gone through in such an official capacity, things hadn't been so fancy. He wondered if they were being recorded. He wondered if Fara would ever see.

The demon chuckled, hoping it covered his reaction to that thought as he grabbed his luggage and followed Levi and his nephew closer to the portal. "Not a problem, really. I promise." He looked to West to translate what the tatzel said next, but in the absence of a reaction from the boil Tel moved on, interpreting it all fairly correctly once he'd played her words back in his mind. "It'll be fun. It always is." That much was true, even if he was destined to spend the whole trip in mild discomfort. He grinned back.

Unlike West and Levi, Tel recalled the impending bright lights all too vividly. He kept his eyes closed completely as he stepped into the portal room, reopening them in a narrow squint once the initial shock wore off. It was only an instant before it was time to go. Too soon. Tel tightened his fingers around the strap of his bag, mollified slightly by his unintentional fist. Instead of mourning the loss of jollier feelings, he let his anger grow, let it consume his nerves as he stood tall. When West turned to check on him, Telefsen's grin was gone.

He stopped and turned, causing Levi to halt abruptly in place, her ears pointing in attention for what was about to be said. Their temporary guide knocked the end of his pencil towards the portal behind him, beginning what seemed like a routine lecture to which each response was already known prior to it even being given.

"Now, we have two new passport applicants here today, so we must verify that their sponsor is both present…," the rodent-serpent glanced towards Tel, "…and unaffected by cider, pixie dust or other inhibitors of a FEAR-based consciousness, ready to be responsible for choices, emergencies or the use of cider, pixie dust or other inhibitors of a FEAR-based consciousness by said new applicants during the duration of their stay in the human world." There was a pause, but not one long enough for an answer. Blinking, he added on another statement that seemed to be more specific to Tel- or at least a demon. "Let me remind you that this pact written in script today is binding and unescapable by any other pacts potentially made in or out of Halloween in an attempt to override the laws under Halloween jurisdiction of which you are also bound to obey."

The employee's blackened eyes continuously stared at the older demon with his pencil now at his clipboard, ready to checkmark what was surely the already known box.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 12, 2015 8:36 am

The raw emotion he had summoned didn't last for long. Or rather it changed into something more pleasant but no less potent. At least it continued to distract him from his unease.

"Are you..."

Was this weirdo implying that he was high?

"I'm here... obviously... and I swear I'm not on any of those things. And I won't let these two have any when we're on the other side either." That statement was mostly true, seeing as how he wouldn't stop either of them if they wanted something as innocent as a little damn cider, but his intentions were pure enough. Tel was taking this seriously and he wouldn't let anything happen to West or Levi if he could help it. "I understand. Do you want me to sign something else, or are we good?"

Nodding once or twice, the rat-lizard looked back down towards the clipboard as soon as Tel had uttered the words I understand. He, however, did not ignore the demon's inquiry and answered upon his finishing.

"That's all we need. Thank you, Sir."

A check was applied to the very box his pencil had been hovering over. With both arms paralleled in front of him, the guide then gestured a row while speaking. "Now if you'll all make a single file, we will begin." His two limbs then returned back to their writing positions for further notes/checkmarking.

Oh, eh, sure! Just- hold on 'ere- The ghoul's jostled pack made a few clinking sounds internally as she tried to find her place either between or in front of the boils. Decidedly (individually and/or mutually), Levi took up the first spot to avoid moving too much and risk getting her sponsor square in the noggin with one of her dangling pots. Once assembled, the ghoul wedged her thumbs further into the straps of her pack again while listening to more instructions that would undoubtedly follow.

And they did.

Clipboard now at his side, the lab coat wearing guide's writing arm outstretched as he stepped aside from the portal, offering them access to the human world they sought after so long a process. "Please try not to rush the individual in front of you and watch your footing as you enter the other side as we cannot guarantee the same level or quality of ground you may encounter on your first step. Enjoy and remember to breathe- really. They need to do that there."

Giving a reassuring nod with her most serious face, the tatzel took in a low breath and stepped up to the portal. Turning at the shoulder just enough to take one last look behind her, she gave West a quick smile. Ready? They were going on their own this time to the human world- technically. No teachers, gnomes or elves; it would just be them roughing it with whatever FEAR they had on them. Unless they could muster some up while they were there. Levi's smile grew into a grin at that thought, prompting her to bound into the portal with a celebratory YEEHAW~!

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

It was warm, but not as warm as what she imagined Famine Isle was like. Perhaps a little like War Isle, but not as sweaty? It was certainly not humid although she could feel a sort of dampness on the fur of her ears; a cool dampness. The temperature was certainly enough to merit a dive into the nearest watering hole, but not dunk yourself into a barrel of eyescream. It was sort of homely actually.

The feel on her skin was what came first due to the simple fact that her eyes had instantaneously closed on her the moment she'd encountered tha'sun. So there's tha' light he warned us 'bout. Dang. He sure wasn't kiddin'! It was looking up that she realized where the blinding whiteness was coming from. However, what came next was the loud noise she heard in the very close vicinity; rushing water. A whole lot of rushing water. Concerned about the last few things their attendant had said, Levi kept as still as she could, trying to avoid catastrophe until she could make out more about their surroundings.

With one hand, the ghoul sought out an iron pan strapped to the side of her pack and utilized it as a makeshift visor until she could make out the distinctions on the ground. Slowly, the scene began to unveil as the outer perimeters of trees, stone flooring and the random sprig of grass outlining the cracks in the stone could be seen. They were in some kind of a wood with very vibrant Christmas Town-like green foliage and grey-to-pale rock. They were rather high up with a light tunneling of wind flowing from behind them. Following this, the tatzel ghoul noticed the heavy trickling of a river close to her feet. Yes, it was water and yes they were indeed rather high up.

Watch yer step, boils. She's a'long way down. Walking to the edge of the fall to peak down at the pool that developed below, Levi's following cackle echoed down through the trees, causing a couple of birds to fly in the opposite direction. This is sure neat! The white haired ghoul gathered then that she was going to like this place. Her tail furled and unraveled in her excitement of the many ways she could venture around/down the waterfall, weighting her options.

The implications of the additional questions being leveled at Tel pulled a chuckle from West, one that he quickly covered by coughing into his hand and clearing his throat. Even though he was almost positive there was no one important taking notes on what they were doing or how they were doing it right this second, he didn't want to go on record for engaging in something that might have been interpreted as giggling anyway.

West rolled his bag in close to his feet and tried not to crowd Levi's massive pack as he got in line behind her. For one of the only times in his life when he hadn't been influenced by some unnatural outside force, his anger was subdued by anticipation, leaving him on his best behavior as the tatzel stepped forward. He grinned back when she turned to glance at him, nodding sharply before she rushed into the portal.

"C'mon, old man!" he shouted, darting after her after only a moment's hesitation.

West didn't catch his uncle's response, if he'd even had one. Anything Tel might have said was lost in the rush of the waterfall and in the younger demon's sudden irritation. The feeling returned in a familiar crimson haze as he stumbled awkwardly out of the portal, having only half listened when their tour guide had mentioned the uneven ground. His luggage bounced from rock to rock when he tried to drag it, the suitcase's handle nearly jerking from his grasp. He looked back at Tel, squinting in the bright, human world sun.

"Don't laugh."

Retracting the handle and lifting the case off of the ground, West stepped forward, taking a good look at the chasm and the waterfall itself. Labeling it <******** awesome was a clear understatement, but he was too preoccupied to come up with a better descriptor. He might have been a city kid, more impressed by penthouses and fancy clothes than by nature, but he had never seen nature like this, not even with the horsemen. A natural phenomenon with such raw power behind it on the human side of the world was not something he'd expected to come across right off the bat.

Not waiting to see whether his uncle was following, West strolled over to Levi's side, looking out over the cascading water. His tail lifted to twine with hers of its own volition as he turned a deliberate smirk on her.

"Maybe they thought they were sendin' us onna vacation'r somethin'. Where're all th' humans?"

As soon as Tel stepped through the portal, he knew he was going to have trouble leaving. Unlike his other visits to the human world, where he had been deposited on busy street corners or in crowded bars, this time he found himself in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and rocks and water, or at least the sound of it. He felt better immediately, and the fact that he was soothed by his surroundings rather than simply being distracted by anger or some other complication was more fulfilling somehow. This strange affliction was placated by this place, and he was grateful for it. He hadn't gathered proper human FEAR in ages.

He sauntered over to the kids, fishing his eyePhone out of his bag as he went. Taking advantage of the racket the waterfall was producing, he got close enough to take a decent full body picture from behind, an unintentionally charming keepsake he had only meant as a vehicle for trolling. It wouldn't last anyway. Human world pictures tended to go all Halloweeny the longer they remained there. Even he knew that.

When West finally turned to face him, Tel held up his phone, zooming in on their tails and mouthing adorable at him. He started to put the phone away, taking in the scenery as he did.

"Pretty nice spot for your first solo trip. Feels like a vacation, at least for me," he said, echoing his nephew. "You guys still gotta work." Tel grinned.
