The young man shifted none too subtly to his left, his nose wrinkled for only a moment as his consciousness brushed with the waking world and took in the unfamiliar sensations all around him.
The scent of lavender in the air. The softness of the sheets that were wrapped around him, offering more warmth than he usually preferred in the early summer mornings. And it was surprisingly quiet, unlike his usual mornings involving blaring alarms and sounding whistles from a failed doodad or gizmo gone wrong. It was almost strange, but he wasn't uncomfortable. In fact, there was something about his surroundings, that situation that kept him feeling quite...at home, almost. Dominic sighed and shifted again, his cheek grazing something immediately to his left and causing him to open his eyes briefly.
And he saw...something. A flicker of crimson on familiar red garb against a darkened atmosphere. He felt his chest tighten for all of a second, but then he blinked once, twice and it was gone, as though it'd never been there to begin with. What filled his vision next almost made him do a double take: her sleeping face mere inches from his own.
Dominic's mind was suddenly in overdrive, his senses turned up a notch as he became more and more aware of the situation he'd woken up to. He could feel practically...everything. Where his hands were. How his arm draped loosely over her waist. How her forehead seemed to brush against his cheek when she shifted her weight ever so slightly, and in the back of his mind he wondered if it was on purpose or if she just happened to subconsciously move toward him in that way. An odd sense of deja vu came over him the longer he lay like that, kind of just taking it all in, but despite fighting every urge to do anything more than observe he couldn't help but knock her forehead softly with his after a few minutes.
"Dani..." he whispered, pausing only a moment when his vision flickered crimson before trying again.Kaefaux Have a start. :T -idekanymore-

The sounds of combat that would never end. So much pain... so... cold.
She moved to the warmth.
Someone was guiding her or... no. No that didn't make sense. A figment in her mind. Something that never existed or did it.
Her mom was waiting for her. Or... someone... else? Someone else stood in her place and Danika didn't recognize her.
Xanthus. Chris. Paris. Standing there. Waiting. Why? Her? Was she late?
Someone was calling her name. Holding her. I love you. . .
So cold.
Danika turned onto her side, burrowing into the warmth at her right. Anything to fight against the cold. Her body felt so stiff, it moved so sluggishly. So cold...
A forehead pressed against hers, and her eyes finally opened.
"...Dom..?"
I always come home.
I'll see you real soon, baby.
I'll see you... next life.... I'll be waiting....
Next life? Was she...
She remembered the pain. The General. The blood. So much blood. So ******** cold. "Dom..." So cold. Andronicus. Where was she? Where were they? She stared into the familiar face beside her and she felt herself begin to crumble. So much she'd wanted to say. Keep living, keep going. Don't stop. Keep living. Her eyes watered and his face blurred. Her breath came in shuttering gasps as she turned further to him, into him, clinging to him and burring her face into his chest just as a cry tore its way out of her throat. Her fingers moved to his skin, trying to find purchase, trying to find a way to cling to him. Her legs kicked and thrashed, trying to push her further into him. Keep living, keep going.
Danika was crying, almost screaming as the sensation of death washed over her mind again and again. Fading away. Seeing people yet not seeing them. How. How? Where was she. Was she back? Was this it? Was this the next life ******** what happened where were they.
"Dominic," her voice broke over and over on his name, trying to put all the words she'd wanted to say yet hadn't the breath to utter into that one moment, into his very name. Could she just cling to him, hold him, never let go? Injuries that didn't exist pained her, and she wriggled from the gash on her leg and throat that were unseen, unreal, yet the pain lingered in her brain. Her flesh bore scars, but not the amount she remembered. Nothing made sense. Her mind was reeling, trying to make some sense of the situation and finding none, trying to cling to him and anchor to him and hope to god she wouldn't be washed away in the... memories?
I love you
_ p a o cx This solo is what Danika is waking up from. SORRY DOM. Not complete memories back just an extreme jumble of her death.

He almost smiled when she called to him. Almost.
But the sound of her voice the second time, and then the expression on her face when she saw him told him that something was...off. Wrong. So he did the first thing he could think to do: pull her closer. Hold her tighter if that was even possible. He did his best to calm her down, hold her still, reassure her that everything would be fine. She shuddered against him, wet his shirt with her tears. Tears. He'd never known her to cry, yet there it was. Proof that Danika was more than capable of such a feat. But he held on as she thrashed against him.
All the while flickers and flashes of some sick, brutal scene were coming to him in like some garbled video message, and his brows furrowed.
"Shh, I'm right here, Dani…" he whispered, then closed his eyes.
First mistake.
Now he could see.
Blood. So much of it, everywhere. All over her. She was covered in it and clinging on to life. He looked up and there was Andronicus. Beyond them, a battlefield. And when he looked down again there she was. Themiscyra was speaking but he couldn't hear what she was saying; he couldn't hear anything. All he could do was watch as the life faded from her…
Dom opened his eyes and instinctually he held her closer still, his own breathing coming in shaky and uneven. Unsure. But he tried to keep his cool. "You're okay, Dani. You're alright. I'm right here.. everything's gonna be fine…"
