Aquariums and Booty GrabNarumi Misuhara Shadey Kitty Good evening smile I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that the ATA has returned. Thank you for restoring this feature and giving us a chance to interact with you out in the open. What I would like to address with you tonight is the neglect of Aquariums. I attempted to bring this to your attention in the Feedback Forum but as of this writing, there has been no official response. Events here on Gaia use to include a broad range of areas including not only forums but shops, Towns and zOMG too. Special mini games were developed for the events as well. Events were a pretty big deal around here and a lot of people knew that and looked forward to them eagerly. In September of 2008, Aquariums came to Gaia and in October of 2008, tanks were inlcuded in the Halloween event. If tank owners had the Creepy Phonograph in their tanks and chose the "Calm Water" song, the tank would get really dirty, turn black and then when it appeared again, all fish in the tank were skeletons. (this did not affect the tank's health in any way, AFAIK) Screen shot* Note: This was only enabled for the duration of the Halloween event and no longer works. Tank owners continued to enjoy having Aquariums be included in the special events for just a little over 1 year in 2009. (You can see a list of events that have included Aquariums here if you like) Sadly, December of 2009, 5 years ago was the last time. Through all of the nerfs, the neglect (remember your other cash shop, Phin Phang?) and even the unpleasant (putting it nicely) changes Gaia has made within just the past year, there are still quite a few tank owners trying to hold on and keeping their tanks full even though it is (most likely) no longer possible for them to break even on the price of doing so. I think that at this point, some attention to Aquariums and some appreciation for those tank owners who are still with you in spite of yourself is way overdue. How about at the very least recycling those Aquarium holiday effects ? It seems such a small thing to ask. The base for the effects is already in place. (isn't it?) Doing so would not add the the inflation problem. This would go a long way towards giving some cheer to the tank owners. As one person stated in my thread in your Feedback forum (linked in the 2nd paragraph above) : Quote: give a little gaia, intead of taking thanks! Thank you in advance for reading my note. Now can we see you please increase the pay out by adding another zero, or two, to the the amount the fish drop? I'm sure adding a multiplier into the codes would not be all that difficult. Thank you. You're right! in fact changing the multiplier wasn't hard, neither was adding more bubbles so all the numbers show. ...So what's the holdup? ....for the changes to take affect the entire Aquarium project has to be recompiled. It keeps erroring out and the build fails. I've been going back to it between other tasks to try to get it all fixed but it seems like for every one I fix I get 2 new ones! November 24th, 2014: Narumi Misuhara One Rainy Night FeaturesAlso, I think it would help if you would update the post grants and game grants before you go raising the prices of tips and shops and other features on this website. I feel like this would make more sense. In regards to raising the payouts of games, recently we increased the payout of Booty Grab by 500x. In one game it's fairly easy to get 50,000 gold, you would only need to collect 100g in a single game. Over time we will also be updating the payouts to other games and of course forum posting/surfing. Are you going to release more fish or re-release older ones with better payouts? (Increasing older ones to a higher tier for example) We'd like to but considering how long it took just to get the existing code to compile, I'm no sure we could commit to that at this time.

Unfortunately, due to a glitch, I cannot play Booty Grab at the moment. It is a glitch where when I click on a tank that says 'Booty Grab' on it, it loads the game aquarium tank, but does not load the background or fishes in the user's tank so I cannot play Booty Grab. Besides the game glitch in Booty Grab, there are problems with the Aquariums feature itself. Every time I go to the Aquarium feature, it is very laggy that it takes too much time to feed your fish because of the lag. It is also so laggy that I cannot put up to 15 fish in my tank and only put a certain amount of fish in before the lag takes over and freezes the process of putting fish into my tank. Turning off the music does not help the lag in Aquariums as a whole. Also, if you look up, "Aquarium lag" in the "Search" bar, there are several other Topic Results about the lag issue in Aquariums. My question is: Will the Aquariums feature be updated anytime in the future?I would really like to take care of my tank and I do not care about Overseer rewards at this point, but an update to take care of the Aquariums feature's lagging issues would be wonderful. Then the rest of the GA community spread the word, all without (to the best of my knowledge) a peep from the staff. Even now, not all users are aware of the problem - I helped a user with the workaround only this past weekend. A Staff Update with an acknowledgement of the problem with perhaps a noncommittal "We're aware of the problem and are looking into it" would be appreciated. Unfortunately we do not have an update for this yet. We'll make a sticky in the Aquarium forum acknowledging it though and then giving an update to the community when it's resolved.

Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BRINGING THE BAGGAI CARDINALS BACK! Woo Hoo! I mean, I guess you brought about five other fish back too, but I wasn't paying attention to those. Um, good job on that too, I suppose. Pfft! Like I care. Likely not but future is not always known.

As you know, Booty Grab is a game on Gaia. Since it is a game, why not have Booty Grab featured in 'Games' on Gaia? Booty Grab would get a lot more attention that way and having Booty Grab featured in 'Games' would really benefit tank owners a whole lot! That's all I wanted to ask! Thank you! C: The reason we have not done this is because for the other games it takes you straight to that particular game, but with a Booty Grab, though the gameplay is the same for each game, the game is unique to each tank owner.

While perusing Site Feedback, I ran into a thread that was a Booty Grab suggestion. This suggestion was to have new fish or old fish drop Charms while a game of Booty Grab was in play. If new fish were created, once they died, they would drop charm packs or a certain amount of charms. If that is too many charms for a fish to drop once they died, then something like charm fragments could be dropped from the dead fish and these fragments could be reconstructed into a Charm using a feature like GoFusion. Or a new fish or old fish could drop certain charms instead of just any of them. Here is the link to the whole idea in the thread in Site Feedback. I posted this user's idea in this post with permission from them. C: The reason why I bring this user's thread up, or if you wish to answer this next question instead, is that you said in an earlier AtS that in the future, you would be updating gift boxes. I was wondering if updating fish drops or possibly item drops from the Overseer in aquariums were included in that plan as well? That is all I want to ask. C: Thank you so much! ^^ This is an interesting idea and something that we can experiment with. As it is now, fish drops have a chance of randomly drop you 3-10 different kinds of items of varying uniqueness and value. I think if we did anything it would be to add a chance of winning charms to these drops without making shards or any extra game pieces. It would be a lot better if Booty Grab were capped at 10 million gold to 20 million gold or maybe even a higher cap amount. My argument for this is several reasons. Seeing how you could just buy a Cash Shop item and sell it on the marketplace for billions of gold beyond what the Booty Grab cap is now is one reason. You can also get around 30 million gold in a pink link compared what the Booty Grab cap is now. You can also sell a crafted GoFushion item in the marketplace and get hundreds of thousands of gold to billions of gold from the item compared to the current Booty Grab cap. Some past event items also sell for more than 5 million gold in the marketplace as well. You can also sell your Charms to make more than 5 million gold because each Charm goes for more than 5 million gold in the marketplace. The inks you get from the Daily Chance, depending on which ones, sell for more than 5 million gold in the marketplace. Some fish from the Fishing game sell for more than 5 million gold in the marketplace. And some Alchemy ingredients sometimes sell for more than 5 million gold. After all these given reasons, would you please at least think about raising the Booty Grab cap? If not, then please explain to us why capping Booty Grab at 5 million gold is a safe bet for everybody. I'm curious for your reasoning of keeping the Booty Grab cap at 5 million gold. Thank you! I am curious though... Since in the Staff Update announcing that the Booty Grab cap has been raised, Narumi Misuhara did not say what the new Booty Grab cap was. I was wondering if you can tell us what the new Booty Grab cap is. Someone has gotten over 30 million gold from playing Booty Grab in a day and was still not capped yet. We are really curious what the new Booty Grab cap is since it may be an amount you cannot earn in an entire day of playing Booty Grab! : O Thank you! The Overseer could really use an update because the gold it gives out is barely anything in the current Gaia economy these days and minus the gift boxes it gives, some of the items it gives out need to be refreshed.
