Mimisbrunnr was chasing ghosts.
Her memories were of pain and suffering and terror, of a world gone mad where the only comfort was that she had bonded so thoroughly with her Wonder that she was incorruptible. That had felt warm and safe.
What didn't, however, was the aura of a Negaverse Lieutenant - she could feel it on the edge of her senses, and she froze, even as it moved closer - he moved closer, she got a look at him and he looked so young, around her age.
The face seemed so...so strangely familiar. She'd seen him, in that terrible future, around the camp...
"Fang? Is that you?"

He was seeing flashes of a uniform again as he stared at the page before him. "...Mimisbrunnr.." The blue clad man said slowly, taking a step closer. It took a minute before he had realized what shed called him and he shifted slightly. "Ah... It's Fang ite actually..." Then he paused, releasing a small breathe. "But I suppose you knew that didn't you? ...You know... that." There was no point in telling her either way. His signature said enough. "...Are you alright Mimisbrunnr?"

Oh, thank God, he knew her. That meant that what she had seen was real enough that other people had seen it too - because she had definitely never met this Lieutenant before, and she dibted random Negas knew her by name and face.
"Fang..ite, huh," she said, and it felt incredibly sad to know that Order was missing him, that he could have been on their side but wasn't. "Not doing too good, honestly," she admitted. "I mean, my last memory of that mess was being publicly executed, and that was just. A bundle of fun. Really."

The Lieutenant sighed, giving her a weak smile. "Yeah... I.. I didn't even make it that far. I died back at the attack on the camp when..." A pause. Fangite couldn't quite bring himself to say it yet. "...Well, you get the idea." He'd been so useless.. To lost in that haze he had sunk himself into. "No one knew my name.. Perhaps they just called me Fang cause they knew there was no point in finding my wonder." They knew he'd be slated to die. He shook his head, his bangs swaying in his face as he did. "...I can't let that happen Mimis..."

Mimisbrunnr flinched. It was all too easy to envision Fang lying on the ground, dead at the hand of some officer or other. She took a step closer to him, offering a hand.
"That's not what has to happen, though," she said, her voice gentle. "If you and...Natron, right? That's his officer name?" She hadn't remembered it until she tried to dig it up, and it came with the image of a General so thoroughly drowned by regrets that it made her heart ache. "If you come ove rnow, without...without whatever was going on then, we can help you, you'll have a proper Wonder and you don't...you don't have to die." She was trying to be reassuring. "I'll even hold onto your cat again. Arsenic, right?" And she remembered the soft, fuzzy creature curling up on her pillow and rubbing against Marie and being the fluffiest damn adorable fuzzball.
"She's a sweetheart - do you...have her yet?" There was no knowing what had already happened and what hadn't, really.

"Yeah... That's who he is.." He mumbled. Absently, he pulled out his weapon and stared at it for a moment. "I can't Mimzy.." Fangite mused, the nickname rolling off his tongue easier then expected. "..At least not just yet. It's not just Natron... I have more people I need to protect. More people who are chaos. At least if I'm here, I can watch over them." He shook his head. That didn't make a whole lot of sense, and he knew it. But it was what he had to do. "We've had her for almost a year actually... I got her for Natron as an early Christmas present... He was going through a bit of a rough patch at the time." He paused. "...I could see if he'd agree to let me take her out one night? So you could see her?"

"People you want to protect, huh," Mimisbrunnr said. "I have a few of those." Hvergelmir, Marie. Though Hver, she supposed, could take care of herself well enough. She exhaled. "You could bring them, too, but I guess an awful future where you die horribly isn't the best pro-Order rallying point."
Her eyes were drawn to his weapon for a long moment. "...Do you want to spar?" She asked. "It'd be a little different, now, sinc all I've got is this, but..." She held up her vial. "Good practice, right?"

"I doubt all would come... They have people they want to protect... And for some.. they can't afford to lose half of themselves in order to do it." Fangite shrugged and laughed lightly. "No.. I suppose not, but if anyone asks, I will tell them you gave me the usual speech for the night." He blinked for a minute, almost as if he was confused. "...We could.. If you want? That way we have a decent cover story besides 'Just talking'." The Leiutenant eyed the vial almost warily, but with an odd sense of familiarity. "Do I wanna know how a long bow comes from a little glass vial? Or should I just go with the typical 'aliens' answers?" He asked as he took a stance.

"You'll probably need a cover story more than me," Mimis said, "I don't answer to anyone except my crotchety old ancestor, sometime," and Aishe was neither particularly crotchety nor old at all, really, unless one counted the thousand years she'd spent dead.
The Page exhaled, staring at her "weapon" for a moment. "I don't know, either," she admitted. "I don't remember how it happened or...how I got all glowy. I think it has to do with my Well, though." She carefully set down her vial, and then stepped towards him. "So, let's do this, huh?"

"Eh.. Ya never know... Some senshi or knights could be unhappy your talking to someone." He shrugged, talking a stance. "That's fine.. Natron's first weapon was a dodge ball... Now its a Kusarigama.. Go figure right?" He blinked slowly when she mentioned a well. ....That was her wonder right??? It had to be. Maybe he'd ask her about it later. "Let's do this."

Mimisbrunnr nodded, and she leapt forward, swinging a punch. She was definitely holding back, not that it would make much of a difference. She had been a talented fighter in the future, but now? Now she was a schoolteacher in a fancy catsuit.
"So how are you doing? I mean, not good, I imagine, but specifically?"

"I'm doing alright, I guess." Ducking and swinging his own punch. "You know how it goes, the tired school kid life." Fangite shrugged. "Sorry, I'm kinda bad at small talk sometimes." That wasn't true. It was more of what did one say. They both knew what was on each others minds. And neither really wanted to broach the subject at hand. "How are you doing?"

"Yeah, I deal with plenty of those," Mimis said, as she brought up an arm to block the punch and swung her other hand around underneath. She liked to think Hver would be pleased with her for chatting with a Lieutenant, particularly since this was just a kid.
"I'm doing okay, I...guess. I didn't have it that bad, to be honest. Made it through pretty far, quick death, actually had a spine for once in my life."

"I died at the attack on Order. General King Bischofite shoved his finger in my brain stem or something.." Fangite cringed at the thought, getting caught by her punch in the process. Lucky hit. "Natron.. Er...Ly-" ...Fangite paused. "Yeah no, lets.... lets just go with Natron. Natron ended up taunting him. Again." Fangite sighed slightly. "He's got a habit of doing this a lot." Fangite shurgged lightly, shaking his head to get rid of the twisted memories. "You'll grow that 'spine' eventually. It's different for everyone. Some people are born with the gal to be in your face, others need to work on it."

"God, that's," Mimis began, and searched for an appropriate qualifier, but, "a pretty ******** up way to go." She finished, because it was the only appropriate thing she could think of. "And..a General-King, that mans you have to obey him, right?"
She swung anoher punch, hoping he'd be focused enough to not just let her hit again. "In this timeline, I mean." She jus shook her head in denial of the diea of her growing a spine. She was a weak person, and she knew it.
