If there was one thing Mimisbrunnr was always happy to do, it was track other Knight auras, make new contacts, and get just that little bit more connected with her fellows. It felt good to have another person whose name she knew, who she could send a letter to if she needed help - and so she tracked the aura of another Page, and quickly caught up with it outside a park.
Greens and browns and quartered circles said Earth.
"Hey there!" She called, cheerily. It was easy to be less shy when she was in powered form, since well - being awkward would get her nowhere.

Newgrange had not actually intended to be out tonight, but the moment someone called out to him, he knew it was meant to be. He turned quickly and blinked, wondering if it was someone he was familiar with; finding a new face wasn't a bad thing, and he flashed a smile all the same.
"Hey," he greeted, raising a gloved hand in greeting. He hadn't seen her before, and even with a quick glance at her uniform he couldn’t immediately identify to what Planet she was associated with. Quickly, he struggled to think if he'd seen her anywhere before or if this was just a chance encounter, though even after a quick mental struggle he drew up only blanks. So, in the absence of understanding, he did the most instinctive thing and simply asked, "What's up?"

Oh god, this was the awkward small talk part of meeting new people, the part she was very not good at. Still, Mimis tugged down her facemask to be polite, and smiled at the other Page.
"Uhm, hi," she said, offering him a hand. "I'm Mimisbrunnr, of Mercury. I've, uh, been trying to network with people lately since...uhm, well, things seem to get messy a lot." That was true enough; she'd spent three weeks in the hospital for "messy" after a Negaverse General had run her through. She was lucky to be alive, and she knew it.

Newgrange did not seem to express any awkwardness; he seemed genuinely pleased to meet another Page and shared no hesitation at taking her hand and shaking firmly. "It's a pleasure, Mimisbrunir. I am Newgrange, ah—" he gestured quickly to his outfit with his other hand, "Of Earth."
Networking was not something he was the most experienced with, however he immediately understood that it was a good idea to have as many friends as possible. There were too many vicious enemies out there—who knew when you were going to need an ally to bail you out? —Or, who knew how much information he was lacking because he hadn't had anyone to help teach him?
"I hope your attempts at Networking have been met with success?" he prompted; if she was in the know, he was certainly fortunate to have run into her—especially on a night when he found himself with many questions.

Newgrange of Earth. She filed his appearance away - she'd started to realize that Knights of different planets tended to look alike, as part of her general stumbling through the process of being one.
"It's been going pretty well, actually -- most people seem to want this sort of thing, which, I guess makes sense." At the very least, no one had tried to punch her who was on her own side. That was a step in the right direction, right? "I don't know everything, but I know people, and that -- that helps a lot." She had Hvergelmir and Babylon for certain, and maybe the others from Msitral too - Kairatos, and Bifrost.

Newgrange nodded; he didn't have to feign appreciation for the fact that she had contacts. He was still forging his own, and not as quickly as he would have liked. There was a frequent nagging in the back of his head—one he didn't know how to escape from. One he very much would have liked to eject from his mind.
"I've been meaning to expand my horizons. But then, I've been meaning to do a lot of things." He reached a hand up to rub at the back of his neck awkwardly. "Like join a gym or something. Or work on combat training."
But he almost always found some way to weasel out of his self-imposed regiment.

"I can put you in contact with people, if you'd like," Mimisbrunnr said, "there's a lot out there and I kinda got lucky sand got dumped in this one...mess that involved a lot of us." That was one way to describe Mistral.
She swallowed nervously at the mention of combat. "Oh god I'm not good at the fighting thing at all." She admitted. "Like, really not good at it, I mostly just get beat up. Um. A lot." She tapped her fingers together awkwardly. "But I want to get better!"

Newgrange seemed grateful and nodded at her offer to put him in contact, though that seemed like something they could discuss at any point in time, and as he watched her while she discussed combat, he felt a bit guilty. Attempting to ease any concerns before they festered, he tried to reassure, "We don't have to if you don't want to—I don't want to put you in a weird position. I don't much like fighting either, but if you'd like to get better…"
He paused and then shifted positions, rubbing the back of his neck; was he being too forward?
"I mean, we could spar? Of course, I won't beat you up," he insisted, "And if it gets too rough, we can call it off. And I'll treat you to ice cream as an apology. Well—I mean, unless it's too cold for ice cream." Which, it sort of was—a late fall night? "—So hot chocolate, maybe? Something, whatever you like. My treat."
…Or was that too forward? Because he wasn't asking her on a date, just trying to show that he meant no ill will. He bit the inside of his cheek and resisted the urge to sigh at himself; he felt so hopeless, and hopefully she didn't see that in him as much as he did.

Mimisbrunnr perked up. "Sparring sounds great!" The Page said, her tone delighted. "And so does hot chocolate after." Mimis was not all that concerned with it being misconstrued as a date, really. She was a taken woman, and two friends could totally beat each other up and go get hot drinks. Or, at least they could if they were both planetary defenders of justice and righteousness.
Or something.
"You're not secretly a really badass martial artist, right? Because uhm, the extent of my training is like, playing Mortal Kombat with my girlfriend."

Newgrange blinked and couldn't help but laugh; he wasn't much for video games himself, but he recognized the name at the very least from time spent in arcades in his youth. "No, I'm not. I really, honestly just need the practice. You probably know more moves from your Mortal Kombat-ing than I do, so I'm already worried you have the advantage."
He tried to keep things light hearted, though as silly as it was a part of him was very worried that he was either going to hurt her--or show how devastatingly unprepared he was to be involved in any sort of war. "Would you like to start?" he asked hesitantly, not wanting to push her in any way.
...And maybe he was just the slightest bit nervous about making the first move.
