 Finally. She had finally been able to make her way back to this place. Nhi Hala hadn't been to the swamp for a long time--mostly due to her rigorous training and Lien's suspicions. But her training with her parents was complete and Lien could not keep her away now that she was an adult. She was free to do as she pleased... And so she was returning to search for an old friend, one she hoped still dwelled in the depths of the swamp. She wandered around the vaguely familiar area until she reached a particularly swampy area. Was this the pool she was looking for? She couldn't remember clearly enough to be sure, but she had to at least attempt making contact with the finned Azrein that lived here. She kicked a rock into the murky waters, followed by two more. Then she turned to the next pool and repeated the process, hoping the sound and ripples would draw out the Azrein crocodile.

 Plonk.....plonk, plonk. Well what the heck was that? Dark blue eyes broke the water to stare at the disturbance. Was it a pack of foals playing around? Should he scare the crap out of them or leave them be? Maybe if he just sidled closer and stared it would scare the crap out of them just from feeling watched?
He walked along the pond bottom using a log as cover.
When he actually saw who it was standing on the bank he forgot himself and his whole head came out of the water. "Nhi Hala?" He asked. His voice sounding of rust and swamp...when was the last time he had used it? Huh.
No longer a tiny ankle biter this one...now she was a big ankle biter..one might loose a leg if she were not careful..that just made her more adorable.

Nhi Hala spun around, white embers trailing from her eye flames as she did so. Her whole face brightened when her fiery white irises locked onto the aquatic form of the one she had been looking for. "Cro-co-dile!" She rushed over to him, tripping and tumbling into the murky swamp shallows beside the stallion. But she recovered quickly, teeth lightly nipping at one of Crocodile's leg fins before beaming up at him. She didn't say anything else, despite the countless questions in her eyes. How was he? Had he missed her? What had he been doing all this time? Could he forgive her for being so late...?

Crocodile smiled as she devided his name into distinct syllables, then reached forward as she looked like she would fall. But she reached him safe and sound and nibbly it seemed. Still the same then the thought delighted him. And he nipped her on the neck in greeting. "Lovely armor Princessa. I must admit its been rather lonely this last while, I trust your siblings have also grown? Not as beautiful as you surely." Specially not that protective brother of hers. Though he knew the lad cared deeply for his sister, and had seemed to relax somewhat after giving his own bite to Crocodile's abused body.
It was their way though, not all azrein spoke the language of the tooth, he was just fortunate his neighbors did. "How have you been? Any adventures?....any stallions?"
He felt his heart harden a little, hoping her brother had been vigilant..until now. Now was good.

Nhi Hala was all but quivering with her happiness. She shuffled in mild embarrassment at his compliment, but stopped when he asked his first question. She shook her head, tilting her head slightly at the comment that followed. Beautiful? She had never thought of herself in those terms... Everyone flocked to Thanh and Lien. "I have been well enough," she replied. "A few adventures..." Stallions? Why was he asking about that...? Somehow it made her embarrassed. She shook her head. "No stallions, thanks to Lien's protectiveness and Thanh's attractiveness." Nhi tilted her head again. "Why? Is that important?"

Crocodile smiled. "It could be important." Meanwhile his heart soared for some reason he hadn't examined all that closely yet. "The others are blind if they do not see past Thanh's fire to your dark sky." Did...did that just come out of his mouth? Usually he wasn't..poetic. Heck he was lucky his voice even worked after so much time in silence and alone. "I am er glad your back. Tell me of your adventures?"
He didn't have many... he stayed in his swamp and waited for prey. But her energy made him want to explore with her. He could walk on land...he just didn't do it all that often.

The red of Nhi Hala's nose spread to her cheeks at his words. It was an indirect compliment, but it was a beautiful one. "I'm glad to be back." Her adventures, huh? "There was one when I was still little where we went to a gathering of foals. There were some pretty strange ones there. There were even two that were chimera Azrein. One of them switched personalities after his sister hit him with her spiky tail."
She watched Crocodile carefully as she retold the details of the meeting. He had a... strange look in his eyes. Was something bothering him?

"Really? Chimera foals...I wonder if they have the same growth rate as we do, do you think they would be grown now? ...Switched personalities you say? How odd. I wonder what that would be like." He mused then made a funny face at her. "What do you think?" He tried so hard to suppress the smile he had on under his unattractive grimace. "So, so did your er siblings find someones yet?" He knew he was dancing around his point but he didn't know if he had the guts to ask her. "Stay with me Nhi Hala of the beautiful night sky, stay with me in my gloomy boring swamp because you light my life...." Yeah that would work..not.

A quiet hmph of laughter escaped Nhi Hala's lips at Crocodile's funny face. She didn't have time to respond to his question before he said something so quietly that she barely heard it. She stepped forward and gently clamped her teeth on Crocodile's ear and tugged his head down to her height. "I think you should speak up if you have a request," she replied, looking into his beautiful blue eyes expectantly.

"I er... I did I say that out loud?" He had thought he had just thought it..woe be it for him now he had to say it so she could hear it. "I er um would you stay with me? Here or I could you know venture and and come with you...where you go.. ahem.. You light up my life...and I don't like the dark when you go..its ..boring... and your beautiful." Then he bit his lip to stop the awful babble that made him sound like a turkey.. gobble gobble...babble babble.
He blushed a horrible purplish color and held his breath for her response.

Nhi Hala smiled, nipping at his fins. "That's a new color on you," she teased gently. A faint blush brought a similar purple color to her own cheeks. "And of course you're coming with me where I go." Her expression brightened. "I came to pick you up, after all." They'd both been waiting for their reunion for so long, yet the fondness she had for Crocodile had only grown. Another would not do.

manga_artist303 "You er did?" Was there a time when he did not stammer? He couldn't remember anymore, pathetic just pathetic. Then he smiled. "Well good..um where are we going?" He tilted his head. To see her family? To go off on their own? Did her brother want to come with them? What would her father say? Not that he cared so much about the father, there would be no other nipper for him just Nhi, whom he could devote himself to. He puffed out a breath of air happily. He sidled closer and nibbled along her neck in a kind of massage, before leaning into her side. She was so warm and so not wet..."Oh I'm sorry I'm a bit damp..but I'm not moving." He grinned rogueishly.

"Yes, I did," Nhi Hala confirmed. She grinned at the next question. "We're going on an adventure." Her white, flaming eyes lit up at his happy puff, humming at his nibbly massage. She leaned into his side and grinned back at him. "Good," she replied. "I would pout if you did." Besides, the coolness of his damp skin felt nice against her own, warmer pelt.
