Dreams often came and went for Fai. She would dream of her past world, and sometime she would dream of her present world...but never once had she thought she would dream of something that felt like it would come to be.
It wasn't the first...'memory' to invade her mind, one of small trickles of many that were confusing and hurt and gave her hope and made her all the more confused. In the world, she was older. Prettier. Smarter. She was exactly what she wanted to achieve herself to be.
The 'memories' would sometimes haunt her with their vague almost slide show like montage. So she got up to patrol in the dead of the night. It wasn't hard to wonder who she seeked, in the dreams, the most important people were always there. Chariklo, Aurostibite? Merlinite, Remarque...Amytis? Hydrus, Acrucis...Seireitei .The names trickled to her, all speaking of importance. All speaking of her friends and loved ones. Some she knew already, some she never met before.
It made her wonder what sort of person future Failyn trusted her secrets and love too.
Her patrols were filled with questions and no answers, and she wished more then anything that Chariklo would find her tonight.

It had come in trickles, in flashes, the recollections of a life that was hers but not her own. It still wasn't all back, and she wished it would either come faster or slower or not at all. Amytis remembered two beautiful children, and a life with Chariklo.
And a painful, brutal death, choking on tar produced by a monster.
She wished she could forget that part.
Amytis wandered the city, trying not to think about what she had seen. Maybe if she pushed it off, it wouldn't overwhelm her, and she wouldn't have to think about how awful it all was, this strange life that did and didn't exist and had and hadn't happened.
Except when her eyes fell on a dark-haired, unfamiliar Super Senshi, there was another rush of memories - Mintaka was a friend, who had helped her with the twins, had been all too eager to hold them, was going to be a mother herself.
"Min...Mintaka?" She asked, her voice breaking slightly.

Mintaka's head turned at the sound of a soft voice.
A soft voice that was rare to hear, that had been taken from a beautiful woman during war. A close friend, who she had cared about, who she once doted on and her children.
Someone who she trusted with secrets and treated like a sister she never had.
"Amytis..." Mintaka's voice cracked in return, as the memories surged.
Tar, the brutal death, the loss. The joy of watching Chariklo and her, the comfort of being in their house and eating dinners or such.
"I've been waiting to meet you.." The tear spilled down and she tried to hide it with a smile, "Chariklo has told me little about you now, but I know....the memories, I feel like I've known you forever..." She moved to the woman, reaching up to brush a pink strand of hair away. "Hello, I'm Mintaka..."

Amytis felt her eyes water with tears of both pain and joy, and instead of messing around with gentle touches or anything like that, she threw her arms around the Senshi of Origami and held on tight, sobbing softly.
"I'm so glad to meet you...again, I guess," she said, and she choked on a tiny sob, squeezing tightly. It was hard to believe that this was really happening. How many other people that she only knew in that terrible world really existed? How many of them would she be able to find?
She had one right now, and it was someone she knew she would be able to trust. "And...and I'm glad you're okay."

The hug was a surprise, but it wasn't unwelcome and the sobs were matched with a similar throw of arms and hitched breathing.
"It's so weird..." Mintaka squeezed back, overcome with memories of a future that could be, and of Amytis as beautiful but tragic mother. Having her here now? It made Mintaka want to sweep her up into protectiveness.
"I am...I am so glad you are alive, okay? Alive and okay and beautiful." Not that Amytis wasn't, but well....the woman spoke, and her voice was amazing. It was like her future self? Her future self was happy in this past self.
She pulled back and looked over Amytis again, "I saw...I remember everything. The twins, Chari, I remember visiting you in the hospital. I remember..." She placed a hand on her stomach and sighed.
"This is so weird but not bad..."

"Good weird," Amytis said quietly, hanging onto Mintaka and very obviously unwilling to let go. It was strange for her to feel completely comfortable around someone outside of her Court, and yet here was the Senshi of Origami, clearly Order and clearly her friend. Even fi their friendship was built in a future that had been terrible and awful and ended in blood and death and tar down her lungs and her entie body shook as that particular flashback (flash-forward?) hit her again, full force, like a freight train of "no."
"The twins," she murmured, as she finally let go and moved a bit away herself. "And at the end, you were..." she gestured to Mintaka's stomach, "with...Aurostbite?" An officer, someone neither of them should trust. But love was love. "Have you...found him?"

"Good weird!" Mintaka would've let go but something about the comfort and holding the woman was well...comforting. And she had more happy and good memories with the dark mirror court then anything else.
"The twins, gorgeous. Adorable. I am pretty sure I wanted to steal them away for a couple of days to love on." She laughed, pulling back a bit to look more at the woman. "Gosh, this is really, I don't even know. I don't want to let go because you matter so much!"
Her gaze widened and then startled and finally relaxed a little. "With Aurostibite, yes. He's around. We talked." She gnawed on her lip. "But I don't know if it'll be the same. I want it to be, I feel so much love. But we've barely known each other, and I can't force him to be the Auro of five years from now."
She sighed, "And you? Did you and Chariklo talk? I hope it went well?" both of her friends had died, "I haven't seen her yet, but when I do, I am hugging the stuffing out of her!"

"The twins," Amytis sighed happily. Natasha and Aarne had been her little miracles. Sure, it was a little weird to think about how they'd happened (and a little painful -- Tantalus had already lost his eyes, then) but they were wonderful and precious and had brought her -- and others - so much joy. "I don't know that I would have let them go."
She swallowed. "I haven't had a chance to speak with Chari, yet." She needed to. She and her fiancee had to have a sit-down, but she wasn't sure if Chari remembered or not. She was scared to ask and find out the answer was no. "But I'll bet she's looking forward to seeing you."

"The twins!" Mintaka said happily still, "They had been little amazing bundles of joy. I wish I could've seen my child." Her hand came to her stomach. "I wished I could've seen more."
She blinked and nodded, "Do you want me to come with you? Chari might like if we both talked or...perhaps not."
She hesitated again.
"I'm sorry I just, I feel so close to you. I just...I want to hug you so much." She squeezed her tighter, "I have so many feelings."

"I think I need to talk to her on my own, first," Amytis aid, her voice quiet, "but after that -- I want to have both of you there and...and we can all.." She blubbered a little, and felt tears well up in her eyes.
Oh god crying was definitely not what she'd intended, but she could bury her face in Mintaka's shoulder and sob some and maybe she would feel better about the whole thing once she was all cried out.

"I understand completely darling." Mintaka stroked a hand down the pink hair, gently and reassuring. Usually she wasn't one for overly affectionate gestures, but for this moment, she indulged in something out of norm.
And she heard the sniffling and felt the wetness and continued to stroke Amytis's head, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry it wasn't all good. I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Amy."

Amytis just sobbed, at first, part of her very much enjoying the comforting gesture from Mintaka. The other Senshi stroking her hair made her cry harder, at first, because it was so familiar and yet had no right to be. They had never met before tonight, in this world, but she felt as if sh had known Mintaka for years.
Finally, she got her blubbering something close to under control enough to speak. "I'm not even sorry about the bad parts," she said, "'cause...I - I died for Chari, I might have bought a little time to get people out and...and that's...that's all I could've wanted..."

See because Amytis was crying, so it made Mintaka cry which made Amy cry harder and suddenly they were two sobbing messes in the night on the streets.
Mintaka sniffled again, bucking herself up. "N...Now see here. Ladies don't ruin their wonderful looks with tears. We are ladies are we not?" Mintaka nodded.
"You were glorious Amytis, everything about you. And it makes you a stronger woman." Mintaka breathed out, pulling out a lace hankie for Amy and one for herself. "Here you go, Ah, You saved many. You did." She assured the DMC, "You saved me, I don't know if you saw me, because I was pregnant at the time, but you did. I was able to get away thanks to you and Chari. Even now...you guys looked out for me." She breathed.
"That is a future past, and now we are here. Will you let me protect you now? Will you be my friend in this time?"

Amytis let out a tiny little whimper, and then sniffled, and nodded. "L-ladies, right," she said, and she wiped her face on the back of her glove, trying to get herself back under control. The offered lacy hankie was a far better face cleaner, though, and she was momentarily glad she didn't have any glamour-created makeup.
"S-so I helped you? And your baby?" She asked, and then she sniffled, again, faintly. "How...far along did you get?" She carefully dabbed at her face with the cloth, a shaky smile on her face. Before this, she never would have trusted someone Order-side so easily. She had been attacked as much by them as by the Negaverse - even by the two in concert. But this was Mintaka, this was her friend who had held her children and cared for her.
"Of course I will," she said. "I'll be your friend now just like I was then."

"Not as far as one would think..." She smiled sadly, "I didn't make it home that night, but I made it a couple more hours after you did. Everything is black after that." Mintaka looked away. "I was three months, just starting to show. Aurostibite...He joined me in the refugee I opened, and we were planning things with someone named Quail for the children. A little happiness for their life..." She dusted a tear off, "I never got to see to the end. I will never get to see it I think. I just...get to restart."
She paused, "A second chance to do it right, or better. Happier."
Her face lit up and she smiled, "I will not falter or betray you Amytis, and I promise to be just as good as a friend as I was before...or would've been?" She laughed, looping her arm through the other girls. "come, Let's drink some tea okay? Calm our little lady nerves and relax. Patrolling seems oh so silly right now when we could do better learning more about each other." Mintaka winked. "Do you like cookies?"Noir Songbird I figure we could have them wrap here soon, just spend the night talking and then go their ways.... OVER TEA!!!
