~Forest of Death~

The Forty-Fourth Training Ground (第44演習場, Daiyonjūyon Enshūjō), also known as the Forest of Death (死の森, Shi no Mori). Back in the days of the Sandaime, its primary function served as a testing ground for the survival and fighting skills of genin trying to become chūnin. It was a very dangerous place, filled with hordes of flora and fauna, often gigantic, poisonous — or even more likely, both — hence its name. As time passed, however, the place became even more dangerous, with the occasional traps set by former shinobi, or the ever-growing animals and beasts that became stronger by the year. The Hokage deemed this place too dangerous and restricted it for a while, but it was opened yet again because of the overtly curious genin who created more problems than before the law had been passed. Now it is simply an overgrown forest filled with dangerous objects.

A metallic fence surrounds its perimeter with 44 gates equally spaced around it; this perimeter is where the shinobi entered. Inside is a river, the forest, and a tower located in the exact centre; the forest's radius is about ten kilometres. It lies to the north of the Forty-Third Training Ground (第43演習場, Daiyonjūsan Enshūjō). Within the forest are several large and deadly creatures such as leeches, tigers, and bears. Rumor has it that in this forest lives a giant centipede larger than the trees itself that live in the heart of this untouched land.

At the center of this land is an old tower that is cleaned and maintained by chuunin or sometimes by Tokubetsu Jonin with free schedules.

Description of encounters
Harmless squirrel
Unique encounter (talk to crew)
Notes: A common animal that can be seen in many areas. Harmless it may look, but this small rodent holds a mystery. How has this seemingly defenseless creature survived in the middle of this wild forest for all these years..? Should we be more concerned?
>>I was thinking we could do something with these animals. I added this as a little memento of Team 7's battle in the Forest of Death, when Sakura (well actually Rock Lee, if my memory serves) found an explosive tag attached. I hadn't thought of it back then, but how does an animal as 'weak' as this survive in that damnable forest? It must have something for it to have lived. xD So give me some suggestions, ne?
Astray Booby Trap
Notes: A forgotten trap set by visiting shinobi from a long time ago. The traps still do their jobs, even when the creator has been long gone.
>>Maybe have some of them inactive, to make things fun?
Blood Crow
Notes: These animals seem normal to the naked eye, save for the fact that they're even bigger than your average adult. Blood Crows are carnivorous, and do not care for anything other than getting their share in the hunt. These animals always travel in pairs, and are intelligent enough to know basic aerial tactics. However, they are easily scared off if they realize they are being overwhelmed.
>>Nothing special.
Rabid Monkey
Notes: If you ever roam into the training grounds, your best option is to quietly sneak by and hope the don't notice you. But if you ever do encounter these beasts, you have two choices. Offer yourself and decide who is the stronger, or toss it a strand of meat in your stead as sacrifice.
>> Nothing special
Giant Snake
Notes: A stealthy foe that awaits their prey in the forest, the snakes snap up unsuspecting victims, and use their poison to stun before swallowing the prey whole.
>> Special: Once in contact with the poison, you will have one turn to try and run or finish off the snake before the paralysis kicks in. After being stunned the snake will target the victim regardless of other team members. If eaten alive, you have 4 additional turns to try and save your teammate before they are suffocated to death.
...or something like that? These are just ideas so feel free to edit them however you want.
Overgrown Tiger
Notes: This tiger is not seen often, but the sheer size of it is enough to scare most away. They come in different colored pelts and if defeated, the body can be sold at a high price to stores that are willing to handle them.
>> Option to sell pelt
Protector Centipede 守護神
Notes: A massive insect that, according to rumors, protects the training land. According to legends, it is a mizuchi, a living form that failed to become a dragon and rise to the heavens for failing a task or training. But either way it is still a threat that must be cut down to go on for the missions.
>> So what do you think?
