The Other seethed in a cold rage. His meal was missing. He'd stashed a deer carcass in his favorite tree several days ago and now it was missing. A vulture would have left bones behind. A wolf wouldn't have been able to reach so high into the branches. His brother knew better. That left very few suspects, and he thought he knew which one was the cause. With his tail lashing, he stalked his way towards his target.
As a pure ulun'suti, he didn't naturally need to eat that often. In the freezing climate of their mountainous home, it meant he could hunt very infrequently, stash his food, and come back for it later. That is... if a certain lazy bear didn't steal it first.
"Bite!" he snapped out the name of his brother's familiar, knowing that she liked to lurk around this area. "Come out here and answer to me!"

Bite was indeed in the area, but she was at White Walker's side. He initially assumed that there must be some sort of intruder with all the racket that his brother was making storming over. He didn't know what to think when it was Bite's name that came from the Other's mouth... except that he didn't like the way he was addressing White Walker's close companion.
"What do you want with her?" he asked, oozing his way around a large snow drift. Bite lumbered not far behind him, but he made certain to keep himself between his bear and his brother. He couldn't help but notice that the Other did not wear his armor today. That was enough to give him some feeling of superiority in whatever conflict was inevitably on its way.

The Other was surprised to see his brother emerging. He had expected to confront Bite alone, not with an ally and protector. That would complicate things, but he was angry enough to refuse to back down. It was his brother's fault for not controlling his bear, at any rate. The Other would certainly not allow Bane to be so disruptive.
"Your damn bear," he hissed, breath misting in a fetid cloud. "She stole my kill." He glared at Bite, but she seemed as unconcerned as always, glowing blue eyes staring listlessly out of those dark hollows that housed them. Bane was no genius or thrilling conversationalist, but he really thought Bite was mentally deficient. She was useless in anything requiring something other than brute force.

"Liessss," hissed White Walker. He had no way of telling whether his brother was lying, of course. He even suspected he might be correct. Bite was sluggish enough to suggest that she had fed recently, but he hadn't noticed any signs of fresh meat around. However... even if the Other was correct in his accusations, that didn't give him the right to make them.
"How do you know it wasn't Bane?" he asked, not budging an inch from where he stood. "I have not seen Bane in days. She is eating your kill right now!" White Walker thought that his bear was the superior one, of course. Bite had the advantage of size over Bane. In his opinion, she was the far greater ally in combat. Her massive bulk could take down even the largest soquili, and she barely even seemed to notice when she was hurt.

"Bane is obedient," growled the Other. "Bane knows better than to take what isn't hers." And it was true. Bane didn't steal from the Other's kills, because Bane knew that punishment would swiftly fall upon her if she did. Even his own familiar wouldn't be spared from his wrath if he was disrespected.... and it was as such for his brother as well.
"It had to have been Bite... unless you say there are intruders on our mountain?" He was disdainful at that suggestion. With all the traps they had set and watches that they maintained, it would be truly shameful if there was any animal larger than a fox on their mountain that they didn't know about it. Even the deer were beginning to learn to stay away, dumb beasts as they were.

"Perhaps there are intruders! Perhaps there are!" White Walker slapped a nearby tree with his tail, more for intimidation than anything. His tail hit with a resounding crack that sent snow and icicles raining down in a glittering powder.
"And who was watching for intruders last night? Bane." White Walker spat out the bear's name with even more disdain than his brother had managed. He could see the anger building in the Other. Normally he might be more wary of a fight, but not when he wore his armor and the Other was unclad. It was his mistake, coming to a confrontation naked. White Walker thought that there was nothing his brother could force him to do or admit when the odds were as such.

The Other bristled with anger. He was aware of the power imbalance just as well. He couldn't defeat his brother in a fight like this, especially not when Bite lurked nearby and Bane was nowhere within earshot. It looked like White Walker expected him to back away from confrontation... which was exactly why the Other wasn't going going to let him get away with insulting him like that.
"Bane would have torn apart anything that came near!" He attacked a tree himself, but he used the bladed end of his tail rather than the armored middle. With a slash, a branch was severed from the same tree as White Walker attacked. It clattered to the ground, and the Other let out a fierce growl as it did.
"Bane is not the problem. Your Bite is!"

White Walker snapped at the air. His dark teeth glinted eerily and his fangs were pointed and long. "Find a better place for your meat if you are so afraid of losing it!" He had had just about enough of his brother's complaints. "It is your fault if something ate your meat if you left it for so long." The longer this went on, the more sure he was that Bite had done the deed. However, he was also more and more sure that his sympathies lay with Bite and not with his brother.
"Go find yourself more meat, unless you are too slow to catch it yourself." He wondered if his brother would try to attack him and change his mind with force instead. He hoped he did. That would be an amusing sight.

That was it. The Other could no longer tolerate such insults and insolence. Even knowing that he was weaker in this scenario, he ran at his brother. He wheeled before he met him, spinning around and sending snow and ice shards into the air. He flared his wings out to their full length, the light glittering off their impressive span. His glowing eyes blazed as he let out a rattling hiss.
"You will discipline Bite, or I will!" he snarled. "I have forgiven enough!" Always always it was that idiot Bite and his fool of a brother covering for him. "Call out the wretch now and we will be done with this!"

Just like his brother was fed up, so was White Walker. He was tired of being ordered around. He was tired of being treated like a burden, or like he was useless or stupid. He flinched back automatically in the face of the Other's charge, but soon recovered himself. For all of his brother's posturing, he was still so bare, so naked. When he finally finished, White Walker didn't wait.
He lunged forward and slashed. With his icy tail he cut a line of red across the Other's flank. It was not deep or meant to severely wound him, but was a firm chastisement. It matched the bites he had received at his brother's whims, bites that still were ugly scars beneath coarse fur.
"Yes! We are done with this! Begone and leave both of us in peace!" he snarled.

The Other jerked away, shocked. They had fought before and wounded each other before, but it hadn't happened like this before. Normally his brother was more compliant, more easily intimidated. He did not know who this new beast was. He growled again, but it was a weaker sound. He was already drawing away, lowering his wings to protect them from stray assaults.
"You..." he hissed. "You." It was a venomous sound, full of hatred and loathing. Brothers they were, but not the warm kind that lived in more hospitable lands. "This is not over," he muttered. He backed away for another few steps. When he was certain that no more attacks would come he turned and walked away. He burned with anger and humiliation. He knew he would have his revenge on his brother and that damn bear, it was just a question of when...

And with that it was done. His brother's retreating back was not a sight White Walker had seen often. He did not take his eyes off him until he was gone entirely. It was only then that he turned himself, heading over to where Bite had begun to dig in the snow. He blinked at her, head tilted. What was she doing? Soon it became obvious. She was digging up a half-gnawed upon deer carcass.
He smirked widely. So the Other had been correct in his accusations. That was amusing. He leaned it and tore a chunk of dried meat off himself. Bite would tolerate no one to share her food, no one except him. If he had protected her for this meat, he would get a taste of it himself. That made it all the more delicious, after all.
