Abbi definitely showed up fifteen minutes late with Starbucks to the battle arena, practically shouting as she raced toward the area. Granted, the shouting had begun twenty minutes earlier when she had been about to clock out of the Infirmary and a slew of Hunters had arrived. Five of them were carrying three others, all dreadfully injured of course, and the teen was forced to stay behind. She had been one of the shouters in the Infirmary, nearly louder than the one screaming about how he was pretty sure his spleen had fallen out of his body.
The teen had been quite happy to inform him, in a decibel higher than him, that no, no his spleen was just fine. And Abbi just hadn't managed to stop shouting since then.

Which was why she ran screaming onto the training field in hopes of finding Heidi, spewing apologies and excuses and excitement all at once so that she had to sit down for a second to catch her breath.
Man, she could really go for a frappucino right about now...

Heidi was patient. It gave her time to warm up and stretch before Abbi arrived. She was blissfully unaware of the shouting, the infirmary drama, the insanity. Instead she got ready for a little spar with a girl who seemed pretty nice. Very energetic. Maybe they could be friends! She looked like a pretty good person.

When finally she arrived Heidi heard her before she saw her. She blinked, looking over her shoulder at the red-headed girl coming her way shouting apologies and still looking really excited. Heidi held her hands up near her shoulders and turned, eyes wide. "Whoa, dude. You okay? S'okay to be late it gave me time to warm up."

Panting and heaving and bent over to prop herself up on her knees, Abbi took a moment or two to herself to wheeze out a proper reply.
"Super dandy. Crazy work day. A+ getting warmed up." That was the worst introduction ever, but the girl was just the tiniest bit frazzled. Another few deep breaths were taken, all meant to calm her frantically beating heart and erratic thoughts.

Finally, after a shake of her hands, Abbi pulled up off herself and grinned at Heidi.
"Thanks for meeting me today! I haven't properly sparred in ages!" She wrinkled her nose in a grin as she summoned her scythe, twirling it in front of her and behind her back just for a bit of show.

"Hey man, it's okay. Just deep breaths, slowly, one at a time.." She was grinning warm-heartedly. Poor thing was so frantic! She really must have felt bad.

Matilda was summoned shortly after introductions, but held casually while Abbi made her little show with her scythe. Heidi laughed. "Impressive! Super pretty, too. What's its name? This is Matilda, she was a banshee. Neat, huh?" There was a large, ornate lock on the weapon still, one wrapped in chains. Heidi had gotten so used to the clink of the chains that she didn't bother paying it any mind anymore.

Heidi then raised Matilda, drawing the string back to form a brilliant white bow. A moment later that arrow was flying straight at Abbi without any warning from the blonde.

All Abbi's twirling was quickly ended in favor of properly appreciating the pretty bow Heidi had produced.
"Oooohhh wooooow she's so pretty! Ha ha, Matilda? What a cute name! Heidi and Matilda, its perfect!" The chain was given a very thorough look over, unsure of what it meant. Not that she could recall had she seen another weapon with chains and though she wasn't at all sure, Abbi didn't recall chains ever being mentioned in relation to banshees. But not being an expert on Halloween she decided not to say anything about it and instead gave her scythe another twirl.
"This is Viveca! She was a will'o'the'wisp. A variant of it..." It would take too long to explain so she only spread her feet in a proper fighting stance.

Caught up in watching the arrow appear, Abbi momentarily forgot they were in the middle of a spar and instead clutched her weapon to her. Oooohhhh, it was always so pretty how the arrows just appeared! When it twanged toward her the teen yelped and tried to dodge but was only struck in the side.
The hit doesn't hurt, not when she's got a shield that glimmers briefly and feels stronger, but Abbi is still surprised and laughs to cover her surely shocked face.
"Hufflepuffs don't mess around!" She joked before she dodged forward and swung the blade at Heidi.

"A variant of a will-o-the-wisp? What's that like?" Heidi asked conversationally while she braced herself for retaliation. Ah. There it was. She grunted and let Matilda take the brunt of it, glad that it wasn't too hard of a hit. She quickly drew up another arrow.

She laughed. "Nah, man! The battle of Hogwarts?" The arrow was let go, a poorly aimed shot but she had been in a hurry. "Predominately Hufflepuffs!

Pleased by her hit, the teen ducked down and rushed to Heidi's side, putting some distance between them.
"Like its this weird myth from like Scotland or England I-D-K but in it will'o the wisps lure people like normal, only people thought they could outsmart the ghosts. Only they couldn't because yanno, they're not dumb, but anyways so people thought if they stabbed a knife or dagger into the ground that the ghosts would impale themselves on the blade." Abbi might have been getting just a tiny bit caught up in explaining the myth and forgot to fight back. "So Vivi's kind of wisp hung out around those daggers and spooked people who thought they were safe!" It was all very specific, but the ghost was pleased her headmate had given an adequate telling.

As for Hufflepuffs Abbi wanted to laugh and started to, but flinched and yelped when an arrow shot at her.
Right, fighting...
"OK OK so favorite HP character?"

"Oh, cool! So they were mischief makers! Neat, very neat." Heidi nodded with approval. Her bow was raised again, aiming for Abbi's arm.

"Luna Lovegood!" She grinned and drew the string back for another arrow. "Quirky little thing, a lot smarter than people gave her credit for. I mean come on, she was Ravenclaw for a reason! You?" The string was released, sending the arrow at Abbi.
