((Currently a placemaker for an rp, I'll be adding the first post later.))

Terrabestiis is a wild land, plagued by troubles that don't reach it's neighbors. Crazed animals and bandits roam the land alike, equal in their aptitude for destruction and greed. Magics, old and unknown, mix with the new to create an everchanging landscape of colors and lights up in the sky, no sunset ever alike another. No one dares to venture into this wild country, and due to the fear spread by rampant rumor and exaggeration of an already terrible truth, no one with allow those from this land to cross the borders into their lands.

However, there is one benefit that has come about through this destraught conditions of life. In those places where people gather together and weather the storm that is life in Terrabestiis, solidarity is abundant, and the division of race is almost nonexistent. It is only the fear of what danger outsiders might bring that prevents this country from banding together to form a great nation.

Their greatest wealth, and the gem upon the world, is the forest of Tempesaltus. While dangerous, it's lush plant and animal life provide a wealth of resources, enough for a lifetime for anyone strong enough to resist the others seeking the same within the shelter of it's encompassing embrace.

However, there is a threat to this wild land, and to the grand forest that covers most of it. And it's only chance at rescue will spring from the oddest encounters.

High within the treetops of the forest of Tempesaltus, Adelaira slept nestled in the safe embrace of their woven branches. The multi-colored leaves masked her from view, blending in with her green and golden tan clothes. The blanket that lay over her had been woven carefully from the thinnest vines, and only further hid her. As she began to wake up, Adelaira shifted against the branches, her vivid pink hair brushing against her shoulders.

Though her eyes opened when she woke up, she didn't see through the blank and cloudy orbs. With a quick tug that pulled off her glove, she rested her bare hand against the rough bark of the tree. Direct contact wasn't necessary for what she was doing, but it definitely heightened her senses.
Adelaira, after all, was in tune with the forest in a way no others could understand. Every living thing had a spiritual energy coursing through them that connected them to everything else, and Adelaira could feel this energy in a way that allowed her to know her surroundings, know about the bear and her cubs playing two meadows over, know about the birds scrounging in the dirt for their early morning breakfast of worms and seeds.

Adelaira had never discovered what made her so in tune with nature- she'd merely been this way in all the time she'd known. Pulling her hand away from the tree, she slid her glove back on. While she enjoyed her connection with nature, she couldn't deny that nature could be vicious, and thus the gloves that protected her hands as she deftly climbed down from the tree, tucking her blanket in her pack before she went.

Dropping on the ground with a slight thud as she released her grip on the last branch, Adelaira's ears twitched as she listened for what might have woken her from her sleep.

Lune sat upon the back of his reindeer, which was immediately an odd sight. It was clear he was far from home. He had taken most of it off and put it aside but his clothes did appear to be more suited for cold harsh weather. Rather then the sun and warmth found here. Even with removing a large portion of his clothing, he was still rather over heated. He lifted his arms up and tugged off his top. After which he used it to wipe off the sweat beating down his face.

He turned and stuffed the shirt into one of his bags. He let out a soft sigh, and gently pat the side of his reindeers neck. He set up suddenly, when he heard the sound of a twig snap. He gripped the reins tightly, moments after he saw a small woodland creature poke it's head out from the bushes. He sighed with relief, and continued forward. Until something sharp and a loud 'whoosh' went past his head. An arrow zoomed past and hit a near by tree. It had only grazed him. The shock stunned him for a moment, he turned his head to see his attacker but before he could another arrow zoomed by. This one hitting his reindeer in the bottom.

It screamed and charged forward. He gripped the reins and tried to get control, but it wouldn't listen. He could hear loud yelling and the sounds of loud foot steps behind them. He looked back in time to see another arrow timing, this one hitting his reindeers leg. It's leg gave out and it fell over, sending him flying forward and landing on the ground with a loud thud.

Red. A flash of vivid, painful red filled her vision, and Adelaira's head jerked to the left. An odd spirit, one she'd never seen before, but a plain cousin to the deer roaming around, and an odder spirit yet sitting atop it. Unable to take the time to examine the lifeflow of the rider aside from that it bore a resemblance to that of other elves, Adelaira rushed towards them. The animal was hurt, visciously. That was one thing Adelaira couldn't stand for. Besides that, they were heading straight for a ditch.

Scrambling back up the trees and using the branches as a highway along towards them, Adelaira's feet nimbly and silently navigated her way to them. Just as she began to grow gravely concerned about the ditch, another arrow hit, and the animal went down. She leaned forward and picked up the pace, her mouth already murmuring through the incantations for her spells.

Flinging herself out of the tree, Adelaira landed with a thud behind the creature, waving her hand and shooting a ball of light towards the bandits who were following. As it expanded to fill their view, Adelaira swung around. "Keep your eyes closed!" She called out to the elven man laying a little bit away. The animal was thrashing, attempting to stand, and she soothed it, resting her hands on it's haunches.
"Ssshh, shhh, all will be well."
The animal calmed, and Adelaira murmured the next incantation as she prepared to yank out the arrows. She started with the one in it's hindquarters, yanking it out and immediatly healing over the wound as the animal shrieked.
"One more, love, one more." She murmured softly to the animal, as much for the soothing tones as for the actual words. Next came the arrow in it's leg, a much more dangerous heal- done wrongly and the animals gait may never be the same. Adelaira concentrated so hard on the flows of it's spirital energy that beads of sweat flowed down her forehead, but it paid off as the healing spell faded and the animal deftly jumped to it's feet.
"There! Now let's get your rider, shall we?"
The exchange had taken no more than a minute, but the light was already beginning to fade, and the bandits had grown angry. Rushing the animal over to the rider, she cast one last healing spell, and helped him onto the deer, turning him to the left and quickly running, the reins gripped in her hands.
"We have to avoid the ditch, and then we'll hide behind the waterfall." She murmured, half to herself, as she led the way.

Lalainia had ran down to the edge of the forest, her sword still sheathed. She had never ventured into the giant forest, and as a sword for hire - as she claimed to be - she never had a reason to. . . until today. Looking up at the trees in front of her, she glanced back and sighed. This whole thing was clearly a bad idea! Why had she gotten herself in this mess again?

"Hey! Another round for me and my guys! Put it on my tab!" The voice had indeed belonged to the swordswoman. Laughing as she took a sip of her drink, she listened to her friend finish his story. Rolling her jade colored eyes, she spoke again. "Listen Artie, I could do that with my eyes closed."
"Well, then let's make a bet Laney." Her eyebrow raised as she continued to listen. "How about you go into that gem mine of a forest and come out with the hide of the first creature to challenge you. You come out and you prove how talented you really are." Her wheels began to turn.
"That and next time you owe me drinks, and they pay of your next two jobs." Agreeing, they shook hands and they continued to drinks.

Recalling the last night's events, she shook her head. "I'm in over my head but, let's do this." Taking in a deep breath, her feet began to march her into the clutter of the trees until the surrounded her in every which way. Not knowing what to prepare for, she kept her left hand wrapped tightly around the hilt of her sword.

At seeing the girl he nearly looked as if he was going to attack her. But seeing her far for his four legged friend he back off. For a moment he had thought she was another bandit. She didn't look it but you never know around here. he watched her work on her, some what hesitant to let the women touch her. But with in moments she was healed. "...thank you" he muttered. Even with few words you could hear his accent. It was not something you could easily identify, yet it was the kind of accent that was rather pleasant to the ears.

He followed her, still some what hesitant to completely trust her. But it was better to have to save them. He didn't want anymore blood on his hands. He turned his head to look behind them, distantly he could see them still coming after them. He spun himself around so he was riding backwards, his reindeer continued to follow her with out instruction from him. He made a symbol with his fingers and aimed. he pulled his hand back as if he was using a bow. He muttered some soft words in an unfamiliar langue, as he did so you could see his breath - as if it was cold out. He released his hand, shooting from the other was a bright blue light. It flew and landed near the men, and burst. Freezing the ground around them, the ice crawled up their legs and forced them to stop. Due to the temperature here the ice was already weak, and they immediately started using their weapons to cut themselves out. It would buy them some time, that was all they needed.

Belatedly, Adelaria realized he might not have known her friend or foe from her... Odd introduction. Wincing, she reminded herself to do so properly once they were safe. She didn't respond to his thanks, not even to remind him they weren't out of the woods yet- so to speak. However, she was rolling his accent around in her mind. The odd animal, the mismatched spiritual energies, the accent that rang softly... Something didn't add up, and she wasn't sure she liked it. But no time to worry about that now.

She had just come to the realization herself that the light hadn't been enough to lose the bandits when she realized he had spun himself around. Her heart throbbed for a second in worry of what he might do, but she focused ahead of her, even as the energies thrummed around him as he cast his magic. A brief chill rolled over her arms, there and gone so quickly she almost believed she had imagined it. However, now was not the time to waste the opportunity he had granted them.

Her feet made no sound on the forest floor now, as she pulled them off the slightly well worn path, plunging into the trees and weaving the deer through them effortlessly. For all that she was unused to this terrain, the deer deftly handled herself, and Adelaira sent her a reassuring smile. They were almost there...

Only a little farther, and they broke into a small clearing, the noise of them emerging from the brush covered my a monstrous waterfall, crashing and turning the water with peaks of white foam. The water, despite it's motion, was surrounding by life that scattered- animals here to drink, fearful of new scents. Pulling the reins gently but insistently, she led him to a ledge hidden from those who had to rely on their eyes.

"Trust me, I know that's hard." She murmured to the reindeer and maybe, just a little, to her rider. And walking backwards, step by step, she led the reindeer across the winding ledge, into a cave that had been forming behind the waterfall for years. It was dark, with only some light filtering through the water, but it was hidden- and even if they could see the cave, they would fall into the water and be swept away before any could approach.

Returning the reins to him, Adelaira sat down on a rock. "You'll need to remain here until they give up and find other prey. I can tell when they've left." Startled but her sudden remembering, she pushed to her feet and stuck her hand out to him- wait, that was a human gesture, wasn't it? Oh well, she had commited now. "Hello," She said, much stiffer than she had spoken to the reindeer. "I'm Adelaira."

Once they reached the caves and past the ledge, he jumped off his reindeer waned walked on the opposite side that the women was on. He looked around, rather distracted by the beautiful cave formations. "it is rather lovely here" He said, but appeared to be speaking to the reindeer and not the women. Seeing her old out her hand, he instinctively grabbed it but not in the way she was expecting. His hand grabbed her forearm instead, gripping it before shaking it. Similar but just a bit different. "Thank you for saving us. We keep running into trouble...lots of dangerous things out here. We will wait for a while. we are in no hurry. rest will do us good, we have been on a very long journey"

He paused a moment. Hearing the slight change in her voice. Noticing how she talking differently depending on who she spoke to."Nice to meet you. I am Lune. This is Chel" Lune gave a gentle pat to Chel's head. "I am...uh..very grateful. that you have saved Chel. I have magic but not that kind of magic...i don't know what i would of done if you were not there..." he paused a moment, letting out a sigh."i wish i had something to give you to show my thanks...but anything worth much was stolen already"

Lalaine had been walking for minutes now, and had realized that the boots she wore were not the kind of boots she should have worn. Shoving the braid that held her hair back behind her shoulder, she let out an agitated sigh. She still hadn't seen anything she could bring a hide back from and it was making this go on longer than she wanted. The only thing keeping her from leaving was how good those free drinks and money would be. "I'll make that jerk come here himself next time."

Turning around a tree trunk to her right, she saw men chipping away at ice. Blinking, she tried to figure the scene out. "So, I'm sure that's not a common thing..." She muttered and one of them had heard her. She looked at their weaponry and realized these men were bandits, and ones she could easily take on if they came at her. Her hand had stayed on the hilt, and she came out of hiding.

"You there! Have you seen an elven man?" Laney rose an eyebrow. While she hadn't seen anyone since she entered, she wasn't going to give out that information freely. "And if I have?" She spoke confidently, and drew her sword as the men turned their weapons to her. "You will tell us." She scoffed, getting into an aggressive stance. "I don't say anything without the proper payment." It seemed as if a fight would lighten her mood.

Moments later, the bandits had been disarmed and she had been given the packs they had on them. "Thanks again boys! I had fun!" She threw the packs over her shoulder after sliding her sword back into its sheath. Who knew how long she was going to be in here? Smiling, she strutted off to find herself a skinnable creature.

Aware as he walked to the other side of the cave, Adelaira vaguely wondered if perhaps he didn't like her company. She fiddled with her belts, nervous, as always, around another person. There were only a select group of people she had grown accustomed to, and that had taken a great deal of time. Hearing his statement about the cave, she rested her hand on the stone. Life still thrummed through it, but it was in a deeper, slower sort of spiritual river. The colors she 'saw' weren't as vivid or wild as outside. "I suppose it must be..." She mumbled almost sadly, aware that he wasn't talking to her, but unable to resist herself from saying it.

When he gripped her hand different, she blinked for a moment, then shifted and returned the grip. A new gesture to learn, to keep track of. Best hope I don't try this on a human. She accepted the shake, unsure whether to shake in rhythm or against. "I felt her pain," She inclined her head towards the deer. "And I felt compelled to help." An obscure statement, even for an elf, but the most honest way she could describe her actions nonetheless. "This is a very dangerous place," She murmured. "You would do well to be more on your guard, with such a beautiful animal under your care." It was said with no criticism, only gentle regard for her. "Though I suppose she would argue you are under hers, yes?"

She nodded when he introduced himself and Chel. "It is very nice to meet you." Her lips curved a smile as he thanked her for saving Chel. "But of course. I do not disturb the course of nature, but I shall not allow man- human, elf, or any race- to harm animals merely for sport or violence." Adelaira tilted her head, towards the waterfall and out at the forest. "Though it is difficult. And hard to guage when survival- hunting is a terrible thing but necessary- shifts into darker territories."

Suddenly blushing a deep pink to match her hair, she gave a nervous laugh. "And I'm sure you didn't care about one wit of that." As he mentioned wishing to show his thanks, she merely gave a wan smile. "Listening to me babble is thanks enough. I, uh... I do not have company often. It's how I will it, but still difficult to handle."

Lune eyed her a moment, nodding to himself as he understood a little more about the women.Clearly one connected with animals and nature, but it didn't take a genius to figure that out. "actually i think i do have something i can give you" He reached into one of the bags that sat on Chel, he dug around, soon pulling out a little cloth bag full of seeds. he took a few out and held them out to her."Back home we call this -..in english it would be 'plant of miracles'. It can grow in the harshest conditions, can practically thrive anywhere. the berries and sweet, and have lots of nutrition. The stalks and leaves have healing capabilities. Ground up and mixed with water, if you put it on wounds it can fight infection and help it heal quicker. And if you eat the leaves straight, it can cure headaches and stomach aches...don't ever eat the roots, though. they can make you very sick...My people learned that by watching the Reindeer's habits with the plant.//.Animal's love it...I'm sure they would be very happy if you planted them"

Lune handed them off to her, forcing them to her hands rather she was really willing to accept the gift of not. "Yes, i will be more careful. thank you" he looked to Chel and chuckled."I wouldn't argue that fact either" He suddenly frowned hearing what she said next. He looked down, his eyes shifting nervously as if guilty of something. "..you.i..hm...you shouldn't stay here. You should go south...if your able, you should convince your animal friends to do the same."

he learned his throat awkwardly and turned to Chel. Rearranging things in the bags as if to look like he was busy or something silly like that. "No no..its fine. I don't see it as babble. Your passion for nature is rather..touching. something you rarely see now a days.." he pulled out an old map from one of his bags. Since was rather mangled and dirty, but still readable. However the map appeared to be incorrect. Strange when proper maps were widely available. he must of been from a place cut off from the rest of the world. Stranger yet places closer to the north were crossed off for some reason. "y-you know i should really be going now that i think of it..still have a lot of ground to cover..."

Lalainia had set off in the direction the bandits had pointed her in. They had technically hired her to find that elven man they were ranting about - but they had claimed he had a reindeer with him. Reindeer were skinnable as far as she knew so - two birds with one stone! She looked towards the ground, following the tracks that were left - though her experience in tracking was little, she knew to follow them.

She followed it off the path, watching as the terrain became harder for her to walk along in those boots. "These boots are quickly becoming a regretful decision of mine." She continued to follow the tracks and saw something that she stopped to admire. The waterfall was beautiful! She wasn't sure if she had ever seen a waterfall with her own eyes before, but it was something that she believed everyone should have a chance to see.

Deciding to take a small break - after all she was given no specific time to find the man in - she opened up a pack to find jerky. "Not my most favorite thing to snack on, but beggars can't be choosers can they?" Taking a bite, she continued to admire the sight in front of her.

Adelaira tilted her head when he spoke of giving her something. "Like I said, you really don't need to do that, I'll be just fine-" But her protests fell on deaf ears as he rifled through his stuff, and she went quiet, tapping her fingers on her knees as she waited for him to figure out what he was after. When she realized he was going for a little bundle of small spiritual energy, she wondered why he carried seeds.

"Ah-" She listened to him explain how the plant worked, and she merely nodded, though she wondered what planting these might do to the plants around her, the ones native to the forest.

However, she felt a burning rage when he told her that she should leave. "No." She murmured in a deathly quiet voice. "This is our home, this is the only place I can ever truly belong. There is nothing to the south that could sustain us, not in the number that we are." Her hands were fisted on her knees. She could feel the vivid colors of the forest shifting around her, the waves of spirtual energy that ebbed and flowed around them. She had ventured out of the forest before, and while the spirtual energy was present everywhere, it was dulled, as if the world had lost it's vibrancy, and she felt so out of place.

His clearing his throat calmed her somewhat, and she, finger by finger, uncurled her hands. His spirit still flickered, and now that they were safe, she allowed herself to focus on it. It almost appeared to be bound and stitched together with another, angrier spirit, lashing out but partially contained... But that didn't make sense. Spirits couldn't be stitched, and no one could handle bearing the weight of a spirit not natural to them.

She felt him pull something out of his pack, but the spirits within it lay dead, and she couldn't tell what it was- until she heard the rustle. Oh. She thought deadpan, a cold creeping in her heart. It's a map. A useless item to her, and one that always reminded her, quickly, just how inferior and different she actually was. "It's not safe yet." She uttered, barely audible. There's someone outside the waterfall." She motioned with a handwave towards the woman outside. I had forgotten that with companionship came mood swings. She mused as she reflected on the ups and downs her emotions had taken in the past few moments.

"I can see how attached you are to this place...I admire you passion but...you should really really leave" He said, a hint of something in his voice. As if he was trying to tell her something. "Something is going to happen. and you don't want to be there when it does" his voice strained a little bit on the last few words. He put his hand to his neck. There was a similar mark to that on his chest. A small X like scar, with strange tattoo like markings that wrapped all the way around his neck.

Lune looked up,glancing toward the exit."there is? just one person?" he asked, turning to look back at her."i can probably deal with them...I don't want to be trapped here forever. I need to leave before sundown. it is very very important that i get some where very safe and...away from everyone by then"

"It's not passion," She stated, glancing over at him. "We- I- truly have no where else to go." Adelaira had picked up on the hidden inflection in his voice, but she couldn't fathom what he was hinting at that would put the entire forest at risk. When she noticed him touch his neck, she flexed her hands. The burns have almost faded, She reflected, before pushing to her feet. "Does your neck ail you? I thought I had heal-" Her voice broke off as she touched his neck, and a wave of malevolent energy rushed out of the mark on his neck- a mark she couldn't see- and zapped her hand. "Ah!" She yanked her hand back and cradled it in the palm of her opposite hand.

"Hm?" Her voice was strained now, and she turned her attention to the person outside. "Just one, but she bested the bandits from before. You're welcome to risk it, but it'd be best if you did not." She glanced over to her left. "If you follow the cave down that way, it leads to something metal, perhaps a place you can hole yourself up in. I have not gone farther in." Metal was the one thing that did not carry spiritual energy. Even paper held slight lingering remnants of dead energy from their trees.
