Paper Tiger was in the park. There were chipmunks to chase and birds to stalk. Anything that moved was her target. She was so bored earlier in the day that she just had to get out and do something! There was no one to play games with, so she had to settle for dumb animals. It was better than doing nothing. Sadly though, the master hunter had yet to catch anything. She was feeling a little frustrated. The chipmunks were mostly staying in the ground, and the birds refused to land by her. No matter how still she stayed, they kept a safe distance. Letting out a long sigh, Paper Tiger flopped down on the grass and stared off into nothing. Today was boring. Atmadja Derp! Sorry this was later than planned. Got caught up in the babben excitement!

Prime Meridian went down the park lane, his tail tied up so that it wouldn't drag behind him, admiring the turning foliage above him. Oranges and browns and reds and yellows! Still little pops of green here and there! What a lovely look. A sudden movement caught his eye. A phony -- it WAS a phony, right? plopped onto the grass, her mane and coat similar autumn colors, her eyes startling green like the random still-fresh leaves above. For a moment, Meridian was arrested -- and then his vanity prodded him to look away. What was he doing? She wasn't THAT cute.

Hearing the sound of hooves, Paper Tiger looked up. She caught a blue foal quickly looking away from her. His hair was long, and strands of his mane blew around in the Autumn wind. His eyes caught the sunlight, and shined almost blindingly. Well, her day certainly just got less boring. The colt looked different than some of the others she had met, but he wasn't anything to write home about. Sure, he was interesting, but not THAT interesting. She thought she was way more unique. That wasn't going to stop her curiosity though. Paper Tiger slinked up to the mystery foal. Her bright eyes stared at him. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?" she shouted. Manners were not her strong point.

Immediately, Prime Meridian jumped. He was NOT used to be slinked up to. Slunk up to? Whatever! It was quiet and creepy and way too slinky for a phony. He turned and looked at her, his gem eyes peering into her far-too-round and far-too-large green ones. Pah! Normal eyes! So there. "Huh? I'm not -- I'm not doing anything," said Meridian. "I was just walking." He tried to toss his mane nonchalantly. Sure. He'd been just... walking. Not looking or anything. "What're YOU doing?"

Paper Tiger scowled. "What am I doing? I'm just enjoying being the most awesome Phony in Phonyland." She wiped some invisible dust of her shoulder; it was the universal gesture for being too cool. "No big deal." She had to admit though, his long hair was kind of nice. It would have looked better on her though. Orange was such a better color than blue.

Prime Meridian watched her and immediately assumed his own position of utter coolness and nonchalance. A little bend of the knees, a cross of the forehooves... "Issat so?" he asked, lowering his gaze -- whoa, she had a really cool tail, although it wasn't as long and silky and lustrous as his. "Well, I think you might have to settle for being the coolest filly in Phonyland, cause this guy right here is the coolest colt." Wait -- had he just complimented her by accident?! StarieMichie i cry for these stupid children

Green eyes stared into him as if she could will him to just disappear. "Okay, if I'm the coolest filly, and you're the coolest colt, then clearly we need a cool-off to see who is really the coolest of all." She wasn't really sure what a "cool-off" was, so Paper Tiger made something up, "It's one part dance-off, one part bake-off, one part walk-off, and three parts me kicking your a** at all of them." Though, she really had to admit that he was quite the looker. Just not out loud... never out loud. "Come on, pretty boy, show me what you've got!" ... whoops! That insult didn't come out as insulting as she had hoped.

Well, that sounded downright intimidating. How had he never heard of cool-offs before?! Surely Sandlot Bambino would have been in one -- or -- or his brother Umbra -- were people keeping cool things from him?!No. No way. This pretty filly must've been just... talking out of her ... admittedly cool tail. Well, one way or another, it would be worth it to show this filly just how cool he was. Like, she'd already admitted he was cool. And a pretty boy. Prime flushed as Paper Tiger spoke. "O--okay, uhm, well, you're pretty, too, so there," he stammered, lifting his head up tall. "And -- uhm, actually I don't have any music, so, I don't know... do we get some or just show off dance moves without it, or, uhm..."

Paper Tiger flushed a deep red. "I can't be pretty!" she shouted defiantly, "I"m tough!" She stared into his shiny, pretty eyes, and began to dance, letting her groove do the talking. The dance was strange as her head wasn't moving, but everything else was. All her limbs flailed around as she kept her gaze locked. She was menacing on top, wild on the bottom; like the worst mullet personified. Striking a pose, she stopped, and did a little bit of jazz-hooves. "See. You don't need music to dance. This just proves why I'm better than you. A real dance-off master can be cool in any situation."

Prime Meridian just stared. Honestly, it was about all he could do. He'd never seen moves like that before. Really, he'd never even heard of moves like that before. He wasn't exactly sure what anyone would even... call them... anyway. But he was still impressed. So that was cool dancing. "W--wow, alright," he managed at the end. "Okay. I -- I'll admit. That was pretty cool. But since you are the coolest filly, I guess that's not that weird. But here's some... more cool." He wished he had a pair of sunglasses to put on his nose, but alas: one couldn't have everything. Immediately, Prime began to moonwalk, shimmy, and hustle as he never had before. His performance even included an impromptu worm, flopping on the ground and then getting up. The other patrons of the park started walking around the pair in wide circles, staring as they went. "I guess they can't handle the cool," Prime pointed out at the end of his performance, huffing. "Not the combined cool of the two coolest babs this side of Phonyland." Wait, why was he talking about the two of them like they were some kind of team? StarieMichie can we have them meet again as adults and laugh at this, please?

Paper Tiger stared in wonder as he danced. "DANG SON!" She said when Prime was done, and gave him a slow clap, "Those are some moves!" She was impressed -- especially by the worm. Only a true dance master could do the worm. Maybe, just this once, she didn't have to be THE BEST. Maybe they could share that title. It was a hard thing to admit, but she really liked this guy. He was probably the coolest colt she had met. Which was okay, because she was still the coolest filly. She shrugged. "Alright, alright. I guess I can call this contest over." Paper Tiger ambled over and gave Prime Meridian a sweaty half-hug. "I don't need to see any more. We both can be the coolest." The words almost hurt when she said them, and she tried to not wince. It was the truth though, Prime Meridian was awesome.

A grin flashed across Prime's face, accompanied by a slight blush. He returned the half-hug, trying not to get any dirt on her admittedly-pretty coat. "I'll take a coolest tie," he said. "It's great company to be in."
