Colonel was out for an evening stroll just outside the village, his two legger had already gone to sleep for the night, so he was on his own. When he was alone, he liked to roam and see what there was to be seen. He trotted along, flicking up snow as he went, it was cold but seemed to be a lot of fun.

Daisy pranced around in the winter snow. With each step she took, there was a "crunching" sound when her hooves impacted the snow. To her, it was very cold. So, she thought if she ran around, she would stay warm. Whenever she paused to catch her breath, she shivered uncontrollably. She wished her winter coat had grown in better, but unfortunately, her coat was almost as slick as it was in the summer. She was only slightly fuzzier than it was before. Oh ,how she envied those with thick winter coats that kept them nice and toasty in the cold.

As she traveled through the snow, she noticed other prints in the snow. She followed the prints, curious of whose they were. As she followed the footprints, she saw a figure in the distance. As she got closer and closer, the figure became more distinguishable. A stallion. Perhaps she should make her prescence known...discreetly.

Colonel paused for a moment, and flicked his ears. He still hadn't gotten used to the adornments his two legger had gotten for him. The feathers behind his ear itched. He breathed the night air in, it was a crisp night and he enjoyed it, even though it was a bit colder that he was used to.

He set about trotting through the snow, flicking it as he went along again. The chesnut stallion didn't understand why the two leggers didn't enjoy this white stuff more.

Daisy watched the figure trot off. She couldn't make her appearance known if there was no one to introduce herself to. Even though she wanted to meet the soquili in the distance, she dislikes being the first one to speak due to her bashfulness. The roan mare trotted off after him and then lost her footing as she neared causing her to trip.

Crash!

She somersaulted and snow flew up every which way. Now, Daisy was covered in snow and shivered erratically. So much for being discreet.

Colonel stopped in mid trot, having heard a lot crash. It sounded big, he turned in time to see flying snow...and it was suprisingly close to him. So he turned and head that direction at almost a full run, wondering what could've caused that much commotion.

When he got to the spot of the crash he looked down in the snow. It was another Soquili...a mare. "Are...you alright?" He bent his head down to get a closer look at her.

Great. He must have seen her little accident. Embarrassed at her own clumsiness, she scrambled to her feet. "I'm okay," Daisy blushed. She shook off the remaining snow on her back. "I just lost track of my footing. I'm such a klutz at times," she continued, still blushing. She shivered a little bit, but then tried to force herself to stop. It worked for a brief moment, but her actions failed and she started shivering again. She was only shivering slightly, but it was still noticeable.

"It is alright. We're all a little clumsy sometimes." Colonel looked the mare over when she stood up. "...as long as your not hurt." She was pretty, very pretty, she seemed shy too. He paused for a moment, while he tried to get the light blush to disapear from his muzzle. "Out enjoying the night air?" He took a few steps closer to her, was she...shivering?

Daisy flexed each leg and checked other joints for any tenderness. "Hm, it appears that I have been left unharmed. Might be a little sore in the morning, but I can live with that," she said, smiling warmly.

"It's a lovely evening, but it alittle colder than what I have been used to. Winter is one of my favorite times of year, but it's hard to enjoy it when you have a thinner winter coat than usual. If I stay moving, I keep alittle bit warmer," she nodded. She observed the stallion for a brief moment, noting his appearance. He seems friendly, if he wasn't he probably would have kept on going, ignoring the fact she crashed and burned. A glanced at him a little longer before she diverted her eyes away from him.

"I'm Daisy," she said pleasantly.

"I'm Colonel." She seemed friendly enough as well, though he began to wonder a little when she looked away from him. "We can walk together for a bit then...if your cold." He smiled, and continued to watch her...hoping she would agree, he would appreciate the company.

"A walk sounds nice. Oh, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Colonel," Daisy smiled. She looked up at the stars and sighed in relief. Her own breath can be seen as she inhaled and exhaled. "The stars look rather pretty tonight," she sighed again, starting to relax more and more. She liked having someone to talk to and meeting new buddies. After a pause, she looked back at Colonel and asked, "So, where shall we go?"

"Very nice to meet you as well." While she watched the stars he watched her, and when she looked back he looked away for a moment. "I didn't have a destination in mind, I usually go where my feet take me, unless you had somewhere in mind?"

"No destination in mind. I have an idea. We shall go..." Daisy started to spin around. She spun faster and faster, her vision going blurry. This continued for a few seconds, and then stopped. She swayed back and forth, alittle dizzy. Once she recovered, she turned her head towards Colonel.

"We shall go this way," She giggled and took a couple steps towards the direction she was facing. Even though she had recovered from her dizzyness, she still didn't walk straight. She turned around, and smiled at the stallion, waiting for him to join her.

"Sounds great to me!" Colonel smiled. Daisy was fun, and would become a good friend hopefully. He started toward her. "I have an idea....do you like to race?" A just a friendly game, it couldn't hurt anything. "Just to warm us both up.."

"Ooo a race sounds fun. We shall warm up in no time," she pranced around a little bit. It sounded like an awesome idea to her and she has always loved a good race.

Then without warning, she turned around and said, "On your mark, get set, go!" She bolted off, kicking snow up into the air. As she ran, she turned her head slightly to see if Colonel was following behind her.

"Victory will be mine!" She shouted out to Colonel and giggled.

"HEY!" Colonel laughed and took off after her. He could catch up to her, but he decided to let her win, but make it a close race. "That was sneaky!" He didn't mind all that much though.

Colonel: -trots around looking for anyone-

Silly Colonel, your looking for Daisy! xd

Looking for Daisy? Oh, I wonder where she could be? xd

Daisy: *sniffs around looking for goodies to eat*

Colonel: -goes over to Daisy, holding the strap of a satchel in his mouth, when he set it down a few apples tumbled out- Ehehe...sorry. -smiles shyly- ...they're for you though.

Daisy: *eyes light up at the sign of Colonel and the apples and blushes* Thank you. *goes over to the apples and starts munching one of them...then nudges a couple of apples towards Colonel to share* redface whee

Colonel: -trots a little closer and munches on an apple- redface So...what have you been up to?

-giggles and offers DidntKillMe popcorn- xd

*munches on popcorn and offers Mistalina something to drink* xd heart *sips tea*


Daisy: Oh, I haven't been up to anything spectacular. Just enjoying the winter scenery. *inches a little closer to Colonel and munches on an apple* How have you been?

Colonel: -had been watching her out of the corner of his eye while he munched on the apple, then looked away quickly when she turned his attention to him again- Nothing in particular, just enjoying being away from two leggers that demand so much.

Daisy: Ah, those twoleggers. I don't have any ties with any of them. The only ones I've ever liked were children, but...they always grow up in the end....*looks down and picks at an apple that has almost completely gone--nibbling at it very slowly* Well, let's not dwell on my sorrows and look at the more pleasant things of life. This time of year is about joy and the spirit of giving. *smiles and starts to frolick in the snow beneath her*

Colonel: -nods in agreement- Would you like to go for a walk with me? It would give us a chance to catch up...and talk of good things.

Daisy: I would love to. ^-^

Colonel: -grins- Where to then, fair Daisy?

Daisy: Wherever our hooves take us, Sir Colonel. Let's go...this way! *looks towards the west and then trots in that direction*

Colonel: -heads west after the mare, catching up after a moment or two- It's a nice day out...it looks like fresh snow fell last night...

Daisy: So it seems. It feels so light and fluffy under my hooves. Nothing beats fresh snow during this time of year. x3 *trots under a pine tree that was in the distance* It amazes me how these kind of trees stay green all year.

Colonel: Yeah...it's a pretty sturdy tree as well. -nudges a low branch with his muzzle to knock a little of the snow off- They smell pretty nice too.

Daisy: Yes, they smell lovely. Can't say I'm a big fan of they're needles though. They don't taste very good. *playfully kicks the tree which causes it to shake and a lot of snow to falls towards the both of them* Tee hee. It's a sturdy tree alright. *shakes off most of the snow on her back with only a few reluctant clumps still in her mane and tail*

Colonel: No, I don't imagine they would taste good. -he laughed when the snow fell on them and attempted to shake what he could off, then went to help Daisy clean the snow from her mane-

Daisy: *blushes and smiles sweetly while Colonel groomed her* Well, I can speak from experience since I've tried them before. They're pretty bitter. I think I'll stick with grass and other tasty treats. *Starts removing some of the remaining snow off of Colonel*

Colonel: Probably a good idea. -he smiled and nuzzled her a bit as he removed the last of the snow- You really are very pretty you know.

Daisy: *blushes and nuzzles him back* Th..thank you. You are a handsome stallion. I sometimes feel rather plain compared to other soquili. But...you're compliment made me feel much better about myself. *stretches her neck up and attempts to remove some snow off of Colonel's forelock and then smiles sweetly at him*

*sips tea and offers some more popcorn to Mistalina* whee heart

Colonel: I'm glad, and thank you. I've wondered a long time now, whether I could ever catch the attention of a mare at all. -smiles sheepishly-


So cute. 4laugh -munches on popcorn-

Daisy: Well, you've caught mine. *smiles sweetly* So, shall we continue our walk? *continues to head west and then turns around to wait for Colonel to catch up*

Colonel: Yes, we should. -follows after Daisy, seeming a little less shy now-

Daisy: *waits until Colonel has caught up to her and then starts trotting at a slow pace occasionally breaking into a canter for a few strides, but then back to a trot, almost walking so she didn't get too far ahead* Hm, I think there's a frozen lake or something not too far from here. Would you like to head there? Hm, if you do, how about we have a little competition. A race perhaps? *winks and tosses her head playfully*

Colonel: Hm...the lake sounds good...so does the race...when do we start? -he grinned at her and got ready to take off, just in case she decided to start the race right away-

Daisy: I think it's further west from here. Not too far. *grins mischievously* On your mark...get set....hmm, what word comes after that. I forgot. I know its starts with a "g"..hmm was it..green? Grow? Ghost? *stalling on purpose and giggles* Go? Ahhh, yes. *bursts out running*

Colonel: -laughs then takes off after Daisy at a run, eventually managing to catch up and keep pace with her-

Daisy: *giggles and winks at Colonel and then tries to go as fast as she could with the frozen lake quickly approaching in view*

Colonel: -he knew better than to run at top speed the whole distance so he would still have energy left, he sped up his pace now, since he could see the frozen lake ahead. glancing over he smiled at Daisy, then turned his attention back to the race-

Daisy: *starts to lose speed and notices Colonel gaining...alot...she slowed down quite a bit. She did not have her wits about her when starting the race and now knew that she was likely to lose. She didn't care though. She was having fun*

Colonel: -when realised he was so close to Daisy he slowed his pace, hopefully he and the mare would finish the run about the same time. -

Daisy: *notices that he had slowed down, then tries her best to catch up and run by his side. The lake was only a very, very short distance away*

Ever since Roxanne had arrived in these lands, she had found nothing but trouble. Of course, for one so small trouble seemed to be around every turn! Nearly being trampled on by the hooves of the larger Soquili or risking life and limb trying to escape the sharp beaks of birds that saw her as a tasty bug.

Perhaps if she made herself larger things wouldn't be so bad. But....the little flutter quite liked being so tiny. Even her own regular size which was still small seemed a bit too brutish and akward. Plus, people payed a bit more attention to her as it seemed not many had seen one so small.

Today was a lazy day for the mare. She had found a large flower to rest upon amongst a glourious field where it seemed few roamed. At least the chance of getting stepped on was slim to none. Letting out a small sigh, she let her wings open and close slowly as she watched the day slip away without a care. Her tail dangling over the edge of a petal, flicked back and forth lazily.

"What a nice day..." She said to herself under a sigh. Blue eyes lidded to the point where she was looking through her eyelashes.

Leilani's wandering brought her to the meadow not too far from home. She had been here once or twice when she was just a little foal, tromping through the flowers with her Papa. The young mare whinned and tossed her head, sending her long mane fluttering along with the string of feathers attached to her ear.

Once the silliness subsided something caught her eye. Was that a butterfly? She loved to watch them, they were so pretty and colorful. Time to investigate! The brown mare trotted over, making careful steps to avoid trampling any of the blossoms. When she stopped near the large flower she was suprised by what she saw.

That's not a butterfly!

Roxy had bunched up her large curls to use as a sort of pillow as she lounged. Eyes closing fully now as she let out another sigh. This was getting pretty boring. The flutter needed to have the spotlight on her once more.

The sound of hoof beats coming near her made her ears twitch a few times. Perhaps it was just someone passing through? She had seen a few come and go and they didn't even notice her.

But....they were getting closer. Too close!

Jerking her head up, her wings fluttered as she readied to flit away in an instant. But they seemed to have stopped now. Eyes raised towards the brown mare who was looking down at her and she gave her tail another quick flick which rustled the petal it lay upon.

"AH! You scared me!" She squeaked as she rolled over onto her side, putting her muzzle underneath a tiny front leg. Her wings still fluttering as she started her drama.

Leilani tilted her head. Was that...a Soquili!? But how could it be, it was so small!? She eyed the creature. It was winged like a butterfly, had a body like a soquili and so many curls. She was definately confused. "What sort of creature are you?"

Uncovering her muzzle, she hopped to her hooves. Wings fluttering furiously as she puffed out her pink cheeks. "Creature? Creature?! I am no 'creature'. That sounds like such a beastly term!"

Her tail snapped back and forth as she eyed the larger mare conspicuously. "I, my dear, am a Flutter." Roxanne's nose lifted into the air as she let out a sigh. The action made her curls bounce a few times. "Seriously. Do all you bigger Soquili have no knowledge of us? I would figure you would. We're not that small or small in numbers to not be known about."

"A Flutter?" The young mare still looked confused, if a little moreso than before. She had never heard of such a thing as a Flutter, let alone seen one. "So...you like us...'cept little?" Her ears perked a bit and she pawed the ground. Leilani didn't like being confused.

"Exactly." She gave a firm nod before eyeing the mare. Taking in her looks. She looked so...natural. Though it wasn't a bad thing. The flutter just seemed to come across more un-natural looking ones.

Her wings twitched a few times as she noticed the other had no wings. "Well, except Flutters have wings."

"Pretty wings...I thought you were a butterfly." Leilani admitted this feeling a little sheepish.

Roxanne eyed her wings for a moment before giving a small chuckle. Batting her eyelashes she puffed up her chest a bit. "It's because I am. Well...sort of anyway."

She kind of figured that that little statement might confused the mare again. So tried to explain. "You see. There is a butterfly that has the exact same kind of wings I do. A good majority of Flutters do have the looks that pertain to butterflies you see fluttering about."

"OoOh." Leilani nodded, it made a little more sense now. "Probably why I've never noticed your sort before." Her tail flicked and she bent her head a little closer to get a better look at Roxanne, still amazed at how small she was yet she looked pretty well the same as any Soquili walking about.

She backed up a bit as Leilah got closer. Being breathed on wasn't the most pleasing of things. "Well, we can change our sizes at times. I just prefer the smaller size. Much easier to get around. But I suppose since one is so small it's easy to go un-noticed." Her head hung slightly as she gave a sigh. Though it was true. Being small made it very easy for someone to just pass on by without even batting an eyelash.

"Sorry." Leilani drew back, noticing she was getting a little too close for the Flutter's comfort. "I know to keep an eye out for you little 'uns from now on though." She nodded. The young mare would watch for Flutters from now on, they'd be easy to spot if they were as interesting looking as Roxanne was.

Riley stood at the edge of a forest. He hadn't been in there before and wondered what could be inside. He loved to play and have fun, he acted more like a foal than a stallion most times.

Riley peered into the dense trees and snorted. Was there any fun in there? Was it scarey? Riley wasn't one to scare easily, but sometimes he could be careful....not very often though.

Leilani trotted through the light underbrush, looking around trying to find the rabbit she had been following. The young mare let out a little snort of annoyance, finding she had lost it's trail then contined on her way.

Riely heard a snort behind him and quickly turned around. He saw a young mare walking by and he smiled and trotted over. "Hi! I'm Riley!" He said as he neared her.

It wasn't clear whether Leilani jumped at the sound of hooves coming closer or the sudden greeting. She tossed her mane, causing the feathers in her ear to be tossed about a bit as well, not to mention letting out a nervous whicker and a little prancing.

She didn't like being suprised when she was out this far as it usually didn't mean anything good. The young mare stopped prancing so much when she saw it was Soquili like herself that had called to her and not some other...creature. "Hi...." Her long tail flicked slowly from side to side.

Riley nodded his head, "Sorry to surprize you!" He took her reation to him as that and nothing else. "I didn't mean too." He then smiled, "What were you doing?"

"Following a rabbit, just to get a better look at it..." Leilani's ears flicked nervously as she watched the stallion. "...it kept running away." She seemed disappointed, despite the hint of nervousness that remained.

"Really? That sounds like fun!" Riley smiled and looked to where the rabbit had gone. "Maybe there's a way we could cut it off and catch it together?"
