Things had not turned out the way that they were meant to be. Iris, sadly, could not be accused of being an optimist at this point. After completing the task at the stakeout and a bit of rest, her team had noticed the explosion of energies towards where base camp had been located.

It might have been disappointing, but in the Rainbow Senshi's eyes, the fools had finally been caught. A fixed home was suicide, it had only been a matter of time.

The eternal senshi had been seeking out clean water for the rest of her team when she sensed it.

There was only one Sovereign of the Negaverse that would have bothered with her team of misfits that had escaped annihilation.

Labyrinthite...

Apparently the General they had encountered with the Mantis Senshi knew well enough to report her location to the Reaper.

In a desperate rush, she had gone back to her team and told them to flee. There was a chance they wouldn't, but with the urgency of her voice, the three knew that they should at least keep their distance.

The Reaper had only wanted one person all along.

Finding herself a clearing near the trickle of a creek she had located, the blonde woman closed her eyes as she summoned her strength. Wings tore out of her shoulders as her skirt melted into a more flowing shape. The tiara she wore faded to reveal the symbol of her world, proudly glowing brightly upon her forehead.

She didn't even open her eyes as she asked "...How many years has it been, Labyrinthite?"

He was already here, she didn't even need to open her eyes to know his presence was there.

There had been a General-King missing at the celebration and the order aligned characters who attempted a final stand, because this particular one had a much more specific target in mind. It did not matter to him that the camp contained many senshi, knights or order-aligned creatures because he knew they would all, ultimately fall but this target was one that he'd been dueling the entity of his existence as a soldier of Metallia. Princess Iris and her Asteroids.

If any of the rebels escaped they would fall (the reaper king always found his victims) but the idea of finally flaying Iris was too delicious to resist.

He was referred to as the Reaper King, as Tanzanite had been the Youma Queen and Bisch the Youma King, because death always followed in his wake. He was death personified and he reveled in the description.

"Oh, princess," he cooed, in a sickly sweet tone, emerging from the dark of the shadows. He pulled the hood from his face so she could see the cruel, wide, wicked grin on his lips--it stretched across the entire width of his face, sharp points of his teeth visible. "I've lost track of how long we've danced this dance," he shook his head, let out a mocking laugh. "It's nearly..." he paused, looking upward as if in thought, "ten years? Shame I let it go so long."

Shame he couldn't corrupt her.

"Are you ready for one final dance? Perhaps to the death, love?"

"...I wasn't talking about this dance..."

She opened her eyes to find the sickeningly familiar face of the Reaper before her. He had abandoned his humanity long ago, it was easy to tell with how sinister his expressions had grown over the years.

Her eyes seemed to be like molten gold, heated by the forges of war. She looked the man in the eyes as she clarified her question.

"...I was talking about the last time I saw you... the day you slaughtered my parents..."

Despite what a tender subject that had been over the years, the woman was able to state her piece with an even tone. As she stood there, her wings opened to their full width, trying to bolster her own appearance into something more intimidating.

For who would be intimidated by a woman in a flowing yellow and pink dress?

He quirked a brow at her, his grin slipping until his lips pursed together in a slight frown. "Oh, that dance." His tongue licked his lips as his grin reappeared. "Four years." He remembered that day with perfect clarity. It was the one and only time he'd seen bloodlust in Iris's eyes and it filled him with a sickening pleasure.

It vibrated through his chest and through his entire being as he threw his head back to laugh. "Wasn't that the day your little pets almost joined your parents?" Oh, how he hated Psyche, almost as much as he hated the blonde before him. "Did you know your dad begged for mercy. Pleaded for me to spare his life. It was pathetic," he spat the word. "Your mother on the other hand, she fought back. Now," his Cheshire-like grin widened, threatening to split his face, "that was fun." He enjoyed cutting the Spectre's apart.

He moved forward, steps quiet and effortless, and his cape fluttered behind him. "It's a shame you couldn't watch," he shook his head like it truly disappointed him. "Or that you won't get to watch as I slaughter your precious little Asteroids."

He wanted to see the bloodlust in her eyes again.

Her mouth didn't even twitch as he egged her on about the demise of her own parents. His descriptions were dead on accurate. Her father would have been the sort to buckle, and her mother would have been the sort to fight for her life. It was nostalgic, but now was not the time for nostalgia.

"So it was four years ago that you took my life away."

She might have been alive, and she might have been breathing, but this was not what she would have considered a life. This place she had been living in was Hell. The only way to redeem the quality of life was to get rid of the one who had reduced it to this state in the first place.

"You won't get to touch them..." she said evenly as she brought a hand behind her body. Hidden behind her body, she clenched the hand into a fist as she continued to look to the beast before her.

"...times have changed, Labyrinthite... I won't allow you to get anywhere near them." She didn't even inhale as she shouted out "IRIS RAINBOW SLICER!!!"

From behind her, a far wider and more brilliantly glowing rainbow seemed to bloom. It lashed about, arching up partial as if it was a snake readying itself to strike.

If he could not physically corrupt a person, a creature, then Labyrinthite had certainly mastered corrupting their original philosophies. There had been a time, years ago, that she would have never would have made the conscious decision to take someone's life, she preferred to beat the s**t out of them and regret their life choices but he had changed that, forced her hand. And he was happy to do it again.

"Oh, Iris," he cooed, summoning his skeleton scythe as she spoke, "you better make sure I don't leave this alive then." If he lived, and he had the confidence that he would, he would mutilate them and scatter their remains over her head body. There would be no survivors this time.

"Let's dance," he said in a sing-song manner. He tilted his head at her as his hands broke the shaft up so the chain components were active and the blade glistened with hints of frost, then he threw the blade out at her.

I won't let you live... even if I have to die...

Her eyes were fixed upon the man and his weapon as he spoke so confidently about the planned demise of the rest of her team. She knew he was trying to rile her up, but in order to win this, she needed to remain focused.

When his frostbitten weapon broke form and lashed out in a nearly fluid manner towards her, the colorful magic she had summoned also struck. As the tip of the rainbow collided with the blade, varied colored sparks flew into the air. The tip of the rainbow may have been heated with light, but the frigid cold of the blade it fought against made the end of the whip flicker as the light cooled.

However, there were some tricks Iris had picked up in her years on the battlefield. As the very tip of the rainbow seemed to focus upon deflecting against the blade, the middle section seemed to bulge out, whipping out from the side towards the General King.
