( Viking RP between Calder and Anwar looking for things~ Like Thralls and loot. )

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Calder didn't know what to expect. He'd tagged along to his latest viking so quickly he didn't get a chance to ask what they were like. Calder liked to gather intelligence before doing things. It seemed for his family line, doing things on impulse was a horrible idea. Still, if he was going to become a Reaver this is what he needed.

Despite the days becoming colder and shorter, Calder wasn't cold. The blond maned lion was dressed in his fur 'robe' of sorts, his necklaces and what have you. No one could say Calder didn't have pride in being the former Warlord's son, no matter how others thought of Aesir, Calder thought the world of his father. Aesir was still a hero in this son's eyes.

Speaking of eyes, he caught sight of a smaller member of their Viking, a female who's markings he didn't recognize. Then again, his time spent as a Thrall he wasn't exactly keeping up with who had cubs with who, so Gods know who these cubs were related to. Still, he wandered up to her and matched her pace easily. "....First viking?"

Anwar was absolutely thrilled to be on her first Viking already. Some adolescents (or their parents) preferred to wait until the cubs were fully grown before allowing them to leave the pridelands on such a dangerous venture. The young lioness, however, didn't care in the least what those idiots thought. She knew she was ready. Oh sure, the Captain and the older Reavers knew far more than she did about how things worked out here, but she was ready to learn.

"Yes," she answered the large male who happened to be beside her at this point on their trek. A fierce glee suffused her voice.

"Do you think we'll capture any Thralls?" she asked. Not that she wanted one of her own yet, but she would love to help bring some in to the pride.

"With our captain? Anything's possible."

Some captains had a higher thrall capture rate it felt like. The smirk on Calder's face was wide and toothy as his eyes flashed, glancing upon the horizon. "Calder. I don't recognize your coat." it wasn't slung as an insult, but said as a fact. He didn't. For all he knew this was a cousin from one of his half siblings or possibly a niece or a nephew, though... she had none of the colors or actual marks. Those watered down, but still.

His tail thrashed behind him as he peeked up at the rest of the Viking party. "..I don't recognize anyone but the captain."

"Anwar," the girl gave her name shortly, not interested in sharing too much about herself. They weren't here to talk about who they were or what might be back in the pride, they were here to find prizes to bring back to the Myrsky Syntynyt.

"He brings back a lot of Thralls then?" she reflected aloud. That would be good. Capturing new Thralls brought recognition and raised one's estimation in the eyes of others. She needed every bit of that, given that she had the least of any Freeborn or Reaver on this trek.

"From whisperings I've heard, yes. He brings back the most thralls. Loot? Not so much. Lately I think we need more loot than thralls." It felt like the pride was getting very crowded, and while normally it'd be fine, there'd been a massive surge in how many cubs he'd almost stepped on during his wanderings. Grunting a little as he looked down at the smaller female, he squinted lightly at her. "...Anwar. Who're... your parents?"

Would he even know by asking? "Never mind. Sorry."

Who said he was a social lion? No one. Going from Freeborn to Thrall and back to Freeborn took its toll. He didn't know how to talk to anyone anymore.

Hmmm. The adult probably did know more about the inner workings of the pride than she did, so if he said more loot was needed, he was probably right. And it was equally true that they would each get a share of any loot brought home.

But it was sure to be far more satisfying to physically best another and bring them into the pride because of the right of might.

"What's it matter who my parents are? We're born of the storm," Anwar retorted. She'd been born in the pride and even if she didn't know or care who she was related to, she was related to enough of them.

"Of course. I apologize. I just do not recognize your markings and at the same time I do." He rolled his shoulders a little more. Well, she definitely was the normal type of Stormborn females. Smirking a little more, his tail flicked and he just took a deep breath of the air that didn't completely smell like home. He half wanted to be an adolescent and shove her playfully but he refrained and just shook his head.

"Don't be so serious. That's how you end up hurting yourself."

The adolescent frowned. Why on earth was this lion forcing a conversation on her when he clearly had no skill for it and she hadn't done anything more than answer direct questions and ask a couple of her own? She certainly didn't want his companionship. They were on a raid together. Who needed more than that?

"If you were truly sorry, you'd stop wasting both our breaths on idiocies," the dark lioness hissed. She looked around, anywhere but at the lump next to her. Maybe she'd see something more important around them.

He stared at her as she hissed out and just sighed. Well there went that. Maybe he should take her advice and give up on conversation. Calder just let his ears flatten before wandering forward ahead of her. She wanted to be a b***h, well, he could just ignore her and carry on.

All the while Calder would think about his social standing and figure out how he was supposed to act. His head was high as he walked off, ears perked forward. If he faked confidence he would feel it. Pride was different than confidence, was it not?

Finally some blessed peace and quiet. Anwar was finally able to do her job - to keep an eye on the surroundings for anyone or anything interesting. Oh sure, everyone was doing the same, and those who were older had far more experience than she did, but every pair of eyes helped.

Above, birds circled, too wary to land anywhere near the small group of lions. In the distance, dust clouds could be seen though the sky was clear, marking the locations of various herds. Nothing too close. Yet.

It was somewhat nice, she had to admit, to see and be places far from her home, and yet be surrounded by Stormborn. Adventure and comfort all in one and, best of all, none of her siblings here!

A sound from the front of the line alerted Anwar as the Captain signaled. Finally, something interesting was about to happen! Forgetting the idiot by her side, the adolescent moved forward as silently as she could, wanting a look at the excitement with her own eyes.

After this the lioness was sure she'd be able to call herself a Reaver.
