With no particular destination in mind and no real goal set, the mare continued her smooth stride through the woods. The matter of her brother was an issue she was not ready to tackle, and she certainly had no ideas as to how she would out-do his latest game.
Abrubtly, that didn't matter, as a strange sound made itself known. Keshani hesitated, pawing at the ground idly as she flicked an ear. There it was again, the peculiar sound approaching her location, like tiny wings and odd clicking. But nothing like any hooves she had ever heard. Tick tock tick tock tick.
"What on earth is that?" Taking a moment to shift nervously on her hooves and eye the branches overhead, she twitched in surprise at the sudden approach of sound. Whatever it was, and wherever it was coming from, it was certainly heading towards her.
The next moment she could scent the approach of another, and now the sound of approaching hooves and breaking branches were clear. The appearance of the stallion made her narrow her eyes and draw herself up, standing firm in the shade of the twisted tree she had hesitated beside. She was not sure if he would make for her to take issue with the fact she was in his territory (if that was so), but she would not run from him.
Instead, she found her attention momentarily diverted by the peculiar thing he chased, which made the odd 'ticking' noises as well as the fluttery wingbeats. Almost against her will, she spoke. "What... is that?"
