"This is so weird," Sibbi said aloud to no one in particular. Perhaps it was a bit daffy to be talking to herself, but Sibbi had never been one to be worried about appearances. How could she, when she had two dads, no mom, came from a star, and had a blue and white fox as her best friend? Throw in a possibly obsessive love of water when she was a wind Soquili, and you had all the makings for a Soquili who was either going to crumble in the face of the world's judgement, or else at it. In Sibbi's case, laughter had always been the obvious choice. And laugh was exactly what she was currently doing, laughing as she wove her way through the small grove of trees. The weirdness to which she referred was her presence in this grove of trees; for the first time in ages, she was hanging out on dry land without so much as a lake to be seen. Giggling, she said again to no one special, "If I keep this up, maybe I'll become something normal after all!" There was nothing normal in a waterlogged wind! "But the real question," she announced as she spiraled back around another tree trunk, "Is whether I want to be normal or not. Or rather, do I want to be normal? Or do I just want to let this ear infection heal, safely out of reach of water, before I literally dive back into the water?" If Medina, her fox familiar, had been around, she would have been wincing; although they had been together since they were both children, Medina had never grown to appreciate puns the way Sibbi did. That was Medina's loss; Sibbi loved puns, just like she loved water, games, and aquatic Soquili! And, of course, talking to herself.

Patchems not too far from the mare who was not only talking to herself but giggling for no reason as she gives a little hint of a snicker. Then stretching as she starts to walk being behind the mare as she snickers again. "Well being normal is over rated in my book their child." She calls those look younger then her own children child or kid. But that is because she is an older mare and her kids are fully grown and finding flings of their own. Snickering again as she watches this mare closely. There was something interesting about this mare that called out to Patchems as she smirks a bit as she continues to speak.
"Why don't we play a game?" Patchems looks like someone took patches off of others and sewed them onto her. Some creature with stripes on her neck. A spotted animal on her butt area. Then a giraffe around her eyes. So she isn't a normal looking Soquili by any means but she is happy with how she looks and as long as she can have fun in life that is all that counts in her book. Walking at the side of this mare she smiles. "I am Patchems. What are you called?" She wonders a bit as she is in a playful mood. Oh but what game sounded fun at the moment was a different question and even a problem.
Racing was fun. Tag some something her kids and mate do. Hide n Seek is always interesting. But there are more then those to play. Oh maybe not one of those but another type of game would be nice. Prancing a bit in a happy thought. Maybe this mare would agree to play a game with her. That would be nice. After all she did ask if this young one wanted to play a game. Now just to wait for the reply. Hoping that the answer would be yes. Oh then what game would they play. She starts to think about it. Something new.. Yes it has to be something new. After all she would hate to become bored of the games she plays all the time. So adding a new game from time to time should be the perfect thing so that things keep interesting.
"Oh and if we play a game. Maybe a new game or something that we come up with together." Humming now in pure overwhelming joy about the possibility of playing a game. She doesn't act her age at all. More like a filly even though she is an adult now. But games are fun and life is meant to be fun. After all if it was meant to be boring every pony would be born looking the same and everything would be the same color. That is blah and boring.

Sibbi was used to running into Soquili in random situations, so hearing the other mare's voice coming out of nowhere was less of a shock for her than it might otherwise have been. Rather than being startled, she was pleased; just because she had to temporarily give up her beloved aquatic haunts didn't mean she wanted to give up the thrill of the chase, the fun of meeting new and different people! And really, she thought as she surveyed the approaching mare, the mare certainly qualified as new and different! Sibbi had seen all sorts of other Soquili in her travels, with all sorts of coats and colorations. But she'd never before seen a coat that looked so...haphhazard. Perhaps there was an interesting story there, she thought hopefully. Maybe they'd get to be good enough friends that she could ask that, later. Giggling, she gave the mare an affirmative nod. "You know, you're right; normal really has a depressingly dull element to it, doesn't it? It's pretty nice to be weird and proud of it," she added with a laugh. "And since you're inviting me, a total stranger, to play a game, I bet you're a pretty weird one yourself! I think we're going to get along great, Patchems," she beamed. Games were awesome, if she did say so herself. They kept mind and body active, cured boredom, helped cement friendships...so what if they tended to be geared more towards younger Soquili? There was nothing wrong with that, just like there was nothing wrong with the young at heart embracing gameplay themselves! "I'm Sibbi, and I love games. Maybe we could do something that involves these trees," Sibbi asked, tapping the trunk of one of the trees as she spoke.

"I think saying depressingly dull element to being normal is an understatement. But I do like the way you say it. As for being weird. Well my son would call me insane or crazy more then weird. Although I am okay with that. After all it is what makes life fun. Besides if one isn't willing to invite strangers to a game now and then. Well they lose out on making some of the best of friends in my book." Patchems points out as she smiles. "I am glad to hear that we'll be able to get along well." Listening to the mare as she nods. "It is an honor to meet you Sibbi and a game with trees. How so?" She ponders on it as she starts to wonder and fill her mind with thoughts about how one could use trees in a game. There was hide in seek in where trees could be used. But was that the game that Sibbi was talking about. Or Maybe it was something else. Hmm just what was there.
She has seen her son and another wind play a game with trees but she would need wings for that one and well that isn't something she has. So what else. Her mind in full gear thinking about any game that could use trees. Oh there was the one she played with both of her kids. What was it. Capture the tree that was it. it is like Capture the flag but each person got to pick a tree around them and then mark it so that they could find their tree. Then they would try to get to the other's tree while still protecting theirs. But that might not be the case here. Sibbi might be thinking of a game in which Patchems has never heard of before. That would be super wonderful if it was one she has never heard of or thought of before. Prancing in place with excitement at the thought of it being something super new to her.
"Well trees can be a fun and interesting thing to use in a game. It sounds like it might be a interesting thing that you have in mind. I am excited to hear about it that I can't seem to be still." She points out as she continues to prance about in one place not moving forward, back or side to side just in place. She does thing only when excited or over joyed about something. New things are normally on the list that cause her to do this but that is ok. One must have something to be joyful about no matter what age one is in life or you just might kill of boredom and that would be a very sad way to go in her mind.

For better or for worse, Sibbi had never really mastered the art of filtering her speech. She was tactful enough to use proper language most of the time, but she was still guilty of peaking without thinking of how it might come off, especially with strangers or people she'd only just meant. People like Patchems, who was probably being exposed to a little too much honesty right out of the gate. Though so far, Patchems seemed admirably good at rolling with the punches. "Crazy and insane are both awfully strong words, don't you think? Personally, I think that people who throw those around casually must be behaving a little self-referentially. Either that, or they're jealous of those of us who actually know how to have fun," she added with a laugh. "Fortunately, I'm not one of those people; I know exactly how to have fun, and how to have it with gusto!" As she spoke, she twirled around, spreading her wings at the same time in a swirl of hair and feathers. While she did so, she pondered the question about the trees, finally breaking into a smile that coincided with her spin ending. "We could have an obstacle course! Pick a tree as a starting point, map out some things for us to weave around, crawl through, jump over, things like that, and see who gets to the end first! No wings, of course," she added with a grin as she furled her own. Because that was a little bit unfair, if she said so herself. "But we can both run, and climb, and jump; really burn some energy, get ourselves worked up and sweaty, and have a good time in the process!" And after that, they'd see where things stood!

Patchems smirks as she listens to Sibbi as she nods agreeing with the knowing how to have fun comment. "Oh yes the knowing how to have fun is the greatest gift of all that most have failed to get." She points out as she stands there looking at the trees while her eyes slowly dance their glance over at SIbbi listening to the ideas about how to turn it into a fun game in which she hasn't played before. Hmm an obstacle course sounds like it is so much fun. Why hasn't she thought of it before. Her and her kids have played a scavenger hunt game before but not an obstacle course game. Leading her eyes from Sibbi to the trees as she thinks a bit. "Where would the finish line be?" She wonders.
After all one should know where the game ends before one starts the game out right. "Once we have an ending point then the game can really start. This obstacle course sounds fun and I am excited to start. Besides no flying what other rules are there?" Asking what she thinks is needed to be answered before starting this obstacle course as her eyes are scanning the area getting a feel for it as she smirks with excitement. The joy lighting a fire in her eyes as she is getting ready for the game at hand to start. But this is how Patchems is. When it comes to games what else could be more fun about it if one isn't pumped to go through with the game.
Turning to Sibbi as she waits for the answers to the questions she had asked a few moments before. A bit getty with overwhelming excitement as she prances in place a bit. Smirking as she has a map of the area in her mind after scanning it with her eyes so that she is ready and prepared to not really win but to have the most fun as she can with this obstacle course because to her it is more important to have fun then it is to win. This is a lesson that she has told her kids over and over again. Fun will always be more important then winning the game. Never be a sour winner or sore loser. Because friendships are more important then a silly game.
These she learned from her mother so it was important for her to pass them down to her son and daughter. She looks at the trees again and then to Sibbi as she smiles. "Lets make sure to have a lot of fun. No matter what happens." She nods to herself as if she is saying it not only to Sibbi but to herself as well.

Sibbi nodded sagely along with the other mare; here was someone who knew what she was talking about! "You're right, Patchems; well, mostly right, I think. I always though that we all know how to have lots of fun when we're foals; I mean, you always see foals running around, whooping and wrestling and generally having a good time. But it's like we all grow up, and then the majority of us seem to think that just because we're adults, it's like we have to be boring all the time!" The huff that accompanied this statement was loud and overly dramatic, but this was a bit of a sore point with Sibbi. How frustrating it was to be told to 'act her age' just because she liked to play with hermit crabs and have a good race once in a while! It wasn't her daddies who said such things, obviously; they knew their youngest daughter far too well for that. But there were other Soquili she'd met who just didn't understand that adults were also allowed to have fun! But now she was on a soapbox, and to a mare who didn't need it to boot! Grinning at Patchems' enthusiasm, Sibbi took a good look at the surrounding landscape. A finish line was a very important thing to have, and, for an obstacle course, so were obstacles! "Well, how about we start here, by this tree," Sibbi began, tapping a nearby sapling with one hoof. "Then we have to do a flat-out run along this straight away," she continued, walking through a wide open patch with nothing in it but grass, "weave through this line of trees here; we could each take one row, so we don't have to worry about crashing into each other," she said with a laugh as she came up to a neatly laid out stand of trees that was (mostly) in rows, "Then we could swim across this little pond here; swim or jump, if you think you can make it, but again, absolutely no flying," she added with another little flutter of her wings, "run through the straight going cross-wise this time, and end at this tree over here?" By now, Sibbi was standing next to a large, thick-trunked oak tree whose wide, spreading branches made it very distinctive. It was important that there be no confusion as to which tree was the end point, after all! "What do you think of that for the course? And as for rules..." Scrunching up her face, Sibbi cocked her head to one side as she considered. Rules were all well and good in their place, but she didn't like to have too many rules mucking up her games! "How about, no flying and no playing dirty? Those seem like the most important rules, and they ought to be easy for both of us to follow!" Not that she expected her new friend to be a cheater, but it was always good to be clear!
