'While you don't much care for wandering on your own, you have to admit you've done it an awful lot lately... Willing or no.' The wind stallion mused to himself as he dove and twisted through the sky. 'And why not? No use sulking that they had no time to spend with you on a fine day. Take advantage of the day or stay and sulk, it isn't much of a choice right? Well, needs must at any rate.'
The yawning deep blue of the ocean appeared beneath him after he passed through a mist of cloud. Admiring the rushing expanse below him, so much richer in color and filled with mysteries beyond those held by the sky he glided through, the wind stallion took a moment to regret that he lacked the ability to dive and swim. Delrialto tilted a wing and spiraled joyously out of the sky, skimming the tall salt grasses with his hooves. He chuckled as he scouted a safe place to land amongst the dunes, carefully picking out a stretch of smoother sand that allowed him to touch down at a canter that became a prancing trot. Slowing with a soft snort and several prancing steps, the silvery stallion shook himself from nose to tail and then peered curiously about.
He and his best friend Raikinti were frequently making trips to the beach, in the hopes they would have the fortune to cross paths with some of the seaborn. They had visited at all hours, to watch the sun rise and set, at high noon and even dark... And while they had seen some of the Mer Soquili distantly splashing, or Delri had spotted the schools from high in the air, they had no luck in meeting anyone from the Bitter Water.
'Kinti was busy with something or other, which left Delrialto to his own devices... Which was not necessarily a difficulty, as his sister was usually free for a sporting race through the clouds or his friends available to pass the time with stories or song. But today they were all about, scattered to attend to one task or another... Which left him sadly alone.
And when Delri was alone (or so his parents observed) he tended to go looking or trouble. Besides, he couldn't argue the matter without getting himself into worse trouble. Such as by pointing out that he'd only run into Kalona once in his foal-hood... And grated there were two of them but he'd handled it... And besides, he'd never seen the mare again and the stallion only once or twice, at a distance mostly... Well, it was better he didn't try to argue the matter, at any rate.
So instead he traveled by himself quietly, and hoped that a walk by the sea would soothe the thoughts the Kalona had sparked. That one will be trouble, no doubt... Perhaps you will be lucky enough to never see him again.
